Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Morning everyone

LaT - H isn't having another GA in Sept - it's just a follow-up appt with his consultant. He will probably have an MRI & an EEG roughly a year post-op so will have a GA for the MRI then
Sounds like your two have got the tag team thing down pat already!
Oh and I got T a balance bike and he's hardly ever used it, don't think he likes being insecure, he's been on his cousins normal bike with stabilisers and prefers that

Filly - either Aug or Sept will work for me, next week is pretty busy though, but could do Mon (ie tomorrow) if you are free? I am free from 11 (H's portage worker here 10-11).
The week after, again Mon free from 11, Tues free, Thurs free from 11.
T starts school in Sept so life should be quieter then!?
The week starting 13th I have nothing in my diary (yet)

Mixed - can't make 25th as away in Jersey 14-28th. Hope the sickness isn't too bad.

G - have a fab time

H update; he's doing really well atm, officially saying words and making serious attempts at loads of others.

Right we all have to leave the house in 45mins, us to a party, PIL to go home, let's see if we can do it!

latrucha · 01/08/2010 12:29

Sorry JKS - got the wrong end of the stick. Thanks for comment about balance bike. I thought you had got one. You've prevented me feeling like I'm depriving Sabela of a modern, cool childhood! (joke)

fillybuster · 01/08/2010 17:06

My brain is probably hanging out in the same park as Gingemes....so apologies for crap post in advance!

LaT - we got Tamara a microscooter 'from' Baby Mia and she's already getting good on it, so a better investment for park visits and stuff than A's bike has been. They're horribly expensive but seem to last for ages - does that help?

JKS - I've now remembered the hell that is getting to Liverpool St with a newborn plus buggy for the train to Southend so Sept would be much better as I might be able to face the drive by then...I'm far too sleep deprived at the moment! Unless there's some other way from NW London that doesn't involve trekking into central london first?

MM (and Gingeme) - don't forget Priory Road Park near Crouch End We just spent a lovely few hours there with the dcs and the combo of playground and paddling pool is good to cover a decent amount of time. Its a good spot for picnics, too

Simpson - I'm surviving by means of a mix of remaining nanny-time (sadly over soon) and summer camps for A. Its definitely not easy, especially sleep-deprived and with a new baby in tow..!!

LaT - I'm convinced that 3 is a good idea, but must admit that its an absolute bugger financially (and we've only just got started) and definitely means I will have to work more than I might otherwise have done. But I never felt quite 'done' with 2, although like you I was very grateful for having 2 healthy happy dcs. Not sure what to suggest, except don't do anything until you feel ready, regardless of sabaticals etc, otherwise you wont enjoy it

simpson · 01/08/2010 18:02

Hi all

it is M that may need a GA soon for gut biopsy

All good here, kids stayed at my mum's yesterday and overnight so I was able to go out and I have been asked by a rather nice man to a BBQ on 14th Aug but no babysitter

Will find one my hook or by crook

Balance bike wise J had one and loved it but tbh I was hoping it would help him ride a "normal" bike sooner but this has not been the case Although we definately got our moneysworth from the balance bike

Am trying to be organised and get some things ready for J's birthday party (pirate theme) as its the weekend after we come back from IOW.

simpson · 01/08/2010 19:24

Ok am too scared to start an AIBU on this!!

But do you think it would be ok to take M with me to BBQ???

It starts around 6ish and there are some other Dcs there although not as young as M (4 &5)

I would take travel cot for when she is tired and stick her in a room and pick her up when we leave (my friend who drives is coming)

latrucha · 02/08/2010 14:43

Well, I wouldn't for various reasons - one of which is that S would never go to sleep and the BBQ would actually be really hard work. S can stay up to 12 / 1am if she's having fun (she did at SILs wedding). Also, I would worry a bit and DH would worry 100 times more because that's what he's like.

Having said that, I don't think you are being unreasonable if you are confident that she will be safe in your friend's house and have a good way of checking this. If it was a massive party with lots of people I didn't know, though, I would be a bit .

Is J going?

simpson · 02/08/2010 14:52

J not going as he is going to my aunt's suprise 70th birthday party in Norfolk.

I cannot go as cannot leave kitties overnight. And they can't take M as she does not really stay up much past 7.30/8 even if having fun. And also food is a bit of a nightmare with her...

Only small BBQ and M will sleep anywhere if tired and also my RL friend is coming so will drive us back afterwards (she does not drink)

Other alternative is to try and find babysitter (still have a couple of options) but will probably mean leaving BBQ early to get back iyswim

My mum is in Canada working for 10 days otherwise she would have her...

latrucha · 02/08/2010 15:11

Do you feel comfortable about it? I can see circumstances, different friends' houses, when I would and I wouldn't (although I wouldn't as S wouldn't sellp IYSWIM).

simpson · 02/08/2010 17:16

I think I do feel ok about it tbh despite really wanting to go iyswim.

I know about 90% of the people who are going to be there too...

Oh well, will make a decision nearer the time I guess...

JustKeepSwimming · 02/08/2010 17:21

Simps - sounds ok to me, you know her & if she will sleep and transfer home & go to bed again.
I say go and have fun

willsurvivethis · 03/08/2010 11:35

Simps is there a way of getting M here for the weekend? She'd have fun with Nathan and hopefully Aaliyah would be here too for her to play with if it all works out. Bit of a trek I know but I like the 'rather nice man' bit

OP posts:
simpson · 03/08/2010 11:57

WST - thanks for offer but don't see how I can get M to yours

Pic of nice man on FB Pic 18 out of 29. The one I am talking to.

TBH have met him a few times and he asked me to BBQ.

Not sure if he just wants to be friends though, but guess time will tell

gingeme · 04/08/2010 20:27

Evening ladies
OOh Simpson sounds exciting. Does the rather nice man know about dc? If so yes take her.
I have come home early from Mums. The boys were being boys but Mum was being Mum . Too much moaning at them and they were being extra naugty cause they knew they were winding her up so Dad bought us home before anything horrible was said tbh I'm glad to be home. DH starts his 2 weeks annual leave on Friday so hey hey.
Erm right I'm off to check out Simpsons pics
Thanks for the park advice filly. Will check it out weather permitting

simpson · 05/08/2010 11:00

Hi all

Gingeme - WST pointed out you probably won't be able to see pics as they are pics I was tagged in iyswim.

He does know about DCs and he had a 7yr old DD himself

Not sure if anything is going to happen, but its nice to havw some attention for a while

Just got back from staying at my mum's overnight with DCs.

Had a good time but my mum is worried about my youngest brother who had ME badly from age `15-19 and says he feels unwell again So he has come home from Leicester for a bit...

Picked up travel cot for next weekend

Taking Dcs to activities on at J's school (childrens centre) later this afternoon, just hope J snaps out of his bad mood

simpson · 07/08/2010 22:59

OMG my aunt is on MN

On the products heading she is doing a bed wetting expert chat/meeting etc....

Penny Dobson is my mum's older sister

Did not know she was doing this!!!

gingeme · 08/08/2010 12:58

Hi guys

sorry been vey unfaithful for a while now - reading but not posting.

But wanted to share something I've just posted in Mental Health

"
I have realised this week that I've resisted moving on as I felt I was betraying the little girl who went through all this and all the pain I wetn through. But this week I realised (after seeing a WWII veteran in tears after 60 years) that what has happened is now part of me and i can move on, sometimes feeling sad but mostly feeling good...

I'm getting better

I REALLY BLOODY AM!!!

Grin "

xxx back later
