Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 15:24

Laugs that is not even funny! Though it was my immediate thought Tis not possible, thankfully, but I guess the memories of unplanned pregnancy stick around

Laugs · 28/05/2010 15:27

Ha, for me too! After DD I couldn't have sex for ages (even when on the pill) without convincing myself I was pregnant. Although, honestly, this pregnancy was the only time I've been sick like that... bleurr - that's me feeling sick just thinking about it.
But since it's not possible, could it be food poisoning?

SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 15:34

I think its possible - although (wayyy TMI coming up here ) my bowel movements have not been normal since Bryn was born. Am either constipated or have diarrhoea almost constantly So when I had a funny tummy yesterday didn't give it much thought.

Glad to know its not just me being paranoid though

Laugs · 28/05/2010 15:49

I've heard labour/ pregnancy/ babies can totally mess with bowel movements. Like just about every other part of your body/ life then

But hang on, so you could be pregnant? You might need to stop taking the pill until you're sure... (does anyone else know, I'm not sure if that's right or not)

Laugs · 28/05/2010 16:00

Oops, just read that again, did you mean it's possible you have food poisoning?

SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 18:02

Stop trying to make me panic, will you?! I meant the food poisoning...

Laugs · 28/05/2010 18:08

Sorry sorry! Have just put the moses basket on freecycle, feels kind of final... I must have pregnancy on the brain

SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 18:14

Well you could always have enough one...

scarlotti · 28/05/2010 19:45

SirB sorry to hear you're poorly - are you still heading to dp's? Get him to look after you.

Hmm, not sure what's happening with my boobs here. After 3 dc's, pert they most certainly are not! The weight is starting to go back on too, and I'm not eating too much I shouldn't so I have no idea what's happening. I'm pretending that it's fat stores for the erratic feeding I'm now doing, but I suspect that's bollocks not the case.

DH out, DD at her Dad's and the Ds' in bed. I have the house to myself-ish. Shall I repeat that ... I have the house to myself!!
Go and buy lottery tickets and park yourself at the window as a pig will fly past a blue moon soon.

I wear a normal bra to work now and it does wonders for my figure. fed up of saggy boobs in breastfeeding bras. Fed up of a fat arse and big tum.
Fed up of a sore tooth .. which probably explains the rest of it. Face has swollen a bit now and it hurts so I'm feeling sorry for myself.

OP posts:
SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 20:23

Scarlotti poor you with your tooth Is the dentist seeing you soon? I think you should watch sappy films and curl up with a duvet tonight. Am looking after my brother and his friend so no early night for me... There is no way I am well enough to cook, so I am going to order the cheapest possible take away and it will have to do

Am supposed to be heading over tomorrow but we'll see. Still have no idea how to store the milk for Monday so its all a bit confusing He's been saying for a year he'll sort out the freezer Problem is everyone else I would trust to look after Bryn is going on this night out too, so if I can't store the milk then I'll have to cancel Tis also the first time DP will be looking after Bryn by himself for longer than it takes me to nip to the shops, and I must admit I am slightly anxious. Not that I don't trust him or anything, but I just don't know how he'll cope! That's not a criticism of him - just simply because we don't live together, he doesn't do the bed time routine, he doesn't know how fussy Bryn can be at times... Am also a bit concerned that Bryn won't take a bottle - he's been fussing so much about feeding recently. Ahhh this list of worries...

Sorry, but of rant there

Hedy can crawl! (big fat show off emoticon) She's been crawling for ages which must indicate that she is an exceptional genius and the best baby in the world (that was a joke by the way - heavy irony emoticon) She can also pull up on the furniture. I find her most scary in her growling and doing crazy things mode, it's like having a little terrier puppy in the house.

DS is still sick every day, has been since last Sunday. GP again, still a virus apparently. It is awful, just constant vomiting.

He cracked me up today, I bumped into him on the landing coming out of the shower, towel around my waist and he said 'come on mummy, pop those whoppers in!!!!' where on earth did he get such an expression from? I just rofld. Have bred a Daily Star journalist apparently.

Got provisionally offered two jobs this week and now in dilemma- one close by, a little responsibilty, vg pay, strong colleagues, full time.
The other 35 mins drive on country lane, smaller school, less strong staff, worse pay, but more senior role and head will recommend to governors that they accept me doing a 4 day week.
Have said yes to second, in hope of a 4 day week. Am I mad? I just think you can't buy time, it's more precious than any money...

WWYD?

Laugs love the Pixies
Raggie have a lovely wedding. Went out last w/e to a friend's 40th and getting in the taxi to go out as a grown up was completely fab.
Sirboob maybe you got what ds?
Scarlotti how is work and dh?
Babbathehun how is the swimming? Boob damage for me last time was dire, am dreading seeing what has become of them this time.

BabbatheHun · 28/05/2010 20:30

scarlotti how is Ioan? Did he get anything from the doc for the bronchiolitis? Doc said Bear cub has it, he said, rather than him having gunky lungs, he has wheezing from his airways, and thus it is bronchiolitis. He said it is because his airways are so small, he is clearly susceptible to this as they are sensitive and small, and that it should clear in time, he now feels this is probably the cause of his past wheezing/mucous etc and that it is like a cold related asthma in older children, will probably get it each time he has a cold for a while, but should be clear in between. We shall see.

Re cowboy builder he has had his case thrown out on account of him not turning up! twat. Excuse my rude word, but really! He wrote to the court and said his business had ceased trading. And decided that was the end of it. Except he does not decide that, the judge does. Judge was not very impressed. He was in fact quite sarcastic . So it has now gone to final hearing, for said twat to come and defend his position in relation to our claim. If he fails to show, we win. If he shows, he will dig such a hole for himself as he will have to explain why he failed to show today, that we will win. Judge said 'suggested' it is ours. He was speaking as if the hearing was a formality. That'll teach him, the lying toerag of a cowboy. HA! .

We celebrated that and Bear Cub's 6 month birthday with DD by going to a chinese all you can eat buffet (a posh one) and it was really very nice, except my pores are now oozing MSG

MissInterpret · 28/05/2010 21:26

Hehee, have been having a good old time reading today's posts. You lot are fab.

Laugs I LOVE 6Music. I listen to it non-stop. Lauren Laverne is my fave. No, maybe Steve Lamacq, like the old days, Evening Session in my bedroom, not doing my homework/revision...

wook your DS sounds absolutely brilliant. Whoppers!?! I'd take that as a compliment. I am lmao-ing at your use of rofld as well by the way. And well done Hedy on the crawling, although she's been doing it for ages hasn't she? Rosa was trying to pull herself up on the handles of the bath this evening. She is going to be such a terror when she is properly mobile.

SirB sorry to hear you're ill. And not to panic you but in case you didn't know, funny tummy/sickness can affect the pill's reliability. Check the packet to see.

Well done pav, sorry babba on one up on the cowboy. What an ordeal, it's been going on forever hasn't it? I am snorting with your too. Hm, think I might have had a bit too much wine with dinner. Is that why everything seems so funny. Am I doing the 'you guysh are sho great' drunk thing?

We just had an M&S £10 dinner as a treat you see - steaks and cheesecakes, my faves. Now going to watch a bit more Mad Men. Got it on hire from the library only for a week so it is actually quite important that we watch 2 episodes a night...

P.S. Laugs you change your name by going to My Mumsnet i think. Can't remember exactly, so must be quite easy. I was trying to think of a good mummy one for ages but then remembered this one I used on a teaching website and thought it was good as any!

MissInterpret · 28/05/2010 21:44

PS wook good news about the jobs! Sure you will make the right decision. Think you're right about the 4day week being the most important thing...

popyourwhoppers · 28/05/2010 21:46

Pabba great news about your builder

raggie so with you on 6music and then you revealed your extreme youth by saying you listened to the evening session as a teenager

Oh fook the other school just rang to say four days a week ok by them too if a dealbreaker, but money in fact same/similar and less promo prospects. (indecision emoticon- I have libra rising, I can't be expected to get off the fence) Bloody jobs like bloody busses.....

Meet ups well when is the next one?

popyourwhoppers · 28/05/2010 21:48

Scarlotti house to yourself- amazing!! Hope you are making the most of it!

SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 22:02

Babba that is fantastic news Getting what he deserves!

MissInterpret thanks I haven't used this one before but guessed it was the same. Don't think I'd be up to much action this weekend anyway

Sorry, Popyour is that Wook in a new shiny name?

scarlotti · 28/05/2010 22:20

pop at the name.. I'd say take the close one and get the 4 day week if the money is about the same. I work very close to home and the difference not having to get in the car makes is immeasurable on the stress levels. Promo prospects can come in a year or two down the line and you never know with these things. Congrats though!!
Work is great, thanks. Enjoying me time and using my brain and loving the 3 day balance. DH is still the same despite there almost seeming to be a turn in events recently. I suspect that there will be a big upheaval in our house over the coming month or two. Will be a wrench for the dc's but I need to allow myself the chance to be happy.

Babba great news re builder. Ioan is now better - his Broncholitis (sp?) lasted from Sat to Thurs and is now just gunk trying to get off his chest. Doc didn't give us anything so I just calpoled to help him sleep. The pain when he coughed/ate was making him cry . He barely ate anything for 5 days too. He wheezed like an old man too.

SirB am I missing something re the freezer..? EBM can last 5 days in the fridge if you put it at the back rather than in the door. Frozen ebm takes a good 24 hours to defrost in the freezer and then can sit for another 24 hours before use. By my reckoning you should be fine.
Alternatively, come store it in my freezer and you can come and pick it up Monday afternoon
Bryn will be fine. It will do dp good to have to deal with him, fussiness and all, and do you the power of good to be reassured it's ok to leave him iyswim. Go out and be young and free again for the evening.

OP posts:
scarlotti · 28/05/2010 22:21

to defrost in the fridge obviously

OP posts:
SirBoobAlot · 28/05/2010 22:43

I thought it had to be used within 24 hours of being out of the freezer? Oh God, its so confusing!! If I go by your reckoning, if I left in the afternoon tomorrow it should be alright... Though you may get a knock on the door tomorrow with a carrier bag full of milk bags

Glad to hear Ioan is on the mend at least, poor little guy And sorry to hear things are still difficult at home. You so deserve to be happy, and perhaps the reality of how serious you are could be the shock he needs..?

Meet Up - good point from popmy - when is the next one?

I meant to say, I have stopped being so PFB paranoid, and am now working on what is easier for me; so Bryn is now having jars for breakfast for the foreseeable future. My pains are always worse in the mornings and evenings, and making life that bit easier for myself is a Good Thing.

scarlotti · 28/05/2010 22:48

SirB have you left a bag to defrost in the fridge before? I have and it took bloody ages! If you're concerned then bring them here and pop them in my freezer. DP can come get them later on in the weekend.
Think I'm going to suggest a trial separation so we can both have some space to see what we want. Dreading that conversation though.

DD was brought up on jars/packets so don't worry about it at all. She's a great eater now.
Here breakfast is ready brek/shreddies/weetabix made up with a bit of formula. You can also use cows milk in cooking so any of the above with full fat milk would work. You could then give a jar for lunch/dinner and home made for the other meal. Making life easy on yourself is the aim of the game!

OP posts:
popyourwhoppers · 28/05/2010 22:57

Scarlotti brave. You sound very sure. Good luck with the conversation.

SirBoob we used lots of jars with ds- worst was when we went on holiday to Italy (sounds nice, but I can assure you it redefined the word 'holiday'!!) and the only jarred food we found there was pureed rabbit or pureed veal!!!! So he ate pizza or pasta every day for breakfast, dinner and tea- dreadful.
Weetabix for breakfast here, easy peasy.
Ella's kitchen were on bogoff somewhere the other week... can't remember where it was. They seem pretty good, a new invention since ds was a baby

scarlotti · 29/05/2010 07:32

Morning

Awake at 5:30 this morning, sigh. Obviously still not fully recovered as he's coughing up a treat. Hopefully will get a nap later on!

Ella's kitchen packets look lovely, have bought a fish pie one to try. Certainly didn't have those when I was feeding DD - the stuff then was very processed tasting. Much nicer options around now!

OP posts:
Pavlov · 29/05/2010 10:52

Bear cub loves Ella's Kitchen pouches. We bought one for the restaurant last night as it was unplanned on way home from town, he sat there in his car seat holding on to it with one hand and gripping DHs hand tightly with the other so he did not take it away from him, and sucking from it like it was a bottle, very sweet! When he tried to take it from him he cried and did his favourite jazz hands! He really does want to feed himself oh dear, like his sister, this will be a messy time.

Bear cub did not sleep very well. Grr.

scarlotti I hope the 'conversation' goes as well as it can. What a horrible situation to find yourselves in. Do you think he will view it as a way to resolve things, or as a final act? Do you want him to work to saving your relationship, or do you think it is too little too late now?

Millie loves Ella Kitchen pouches too, they are so easy too!

scarlotti sorry for all you are going through, hope things work out for the best for you.

sirboob are you feeling any better today?

babba great news about the builder, he is indeed a twat!

dh is back from India (did i mention he was going?) anyway, i am so pleased to have him back, my parents stayed whilst he was away and drove me bonkers! i don't know how i'm going to put up with them when they visit for longer periods when we are in Singapore!
