LOL at 'doesn't look ginger'..............must be so great for you tree.

Back later, just dived on whilst DH cooking tea. Duck/cranberry/chestnut and orange sausages from the farmers market with copius amounts of mash

hackneyzoo · 22/05/2010 17:32

Bookmarking....too sick to read thread...am in MS hell....will be back properly in approx 5 weeks .... send your MS cures to me on the back of a postcard please....so far ginger tea/ginger biscuits don't work, nor do travel sickness bands, or flat coke or lemonade or fizzy water....

Hope everything is ok is Jan 09 world... nothing to report here apart from bleurghhhhhhh.

teaandcakeplease · 22/05/2010 17:36

My second time round I lived off bananas and cereal bars I think How can I be forgetting already! I ate them very very slowly...

Poor you HKZ at least it's worth it for a beautiful babe, sending you ((hugs))

chefswife · 22/05/2010 17:38

I wish there was an H&M on the island; there's one in Vancouver. I swear, they have the best quality in their range for men's t-shirts.
DD too is shamefully low on clothes. Me too. Same with DH. I have a great ability to toss stuff out, but hate shopping and end up with nothing in my closet because of it. Oh yes, my life is horrible. I hate shopping. ]

treedelivery · 22/05/2010 17:47

Poor you HKZ!

I have no H&M for 70 miles [I think] chef, so I hear Ya!

Looking at scan pics felt totally un-weird, so I'm taking that as a good sign I feels more exciting than a general friends scan pic, but not as exciting as my own.

Maybe this is what it is like to have a sister or brother? A halfway between yourself and someone else.

chefswife · 22/05/2010 17:52

hands HKZ a soda cracker... with a touch of green for MS. lol.

teaandcakeplease · 22/05/2010 17:55

Trying to work out what "eggy baby" means. I've missed a lot on this thread in previous weeks

I think they were really really tempted at the time. The pics are amazing, you feel you could touch the hands. Awwwww!

teaandcakeplease · 22/05/2010 18:58

Wow you donated an egg! I have no idea if I could do that, as I'm a control freak and would still consider it part "my baby" and may feel funny if they didn't treat it how I would my own children, when born. So that is an amazing selfless thing to do. I'd love to know how it even came about you agreeing, them asking but it's probably been covered before.

What an amazing person you are Tree! It must be very exciting for you in a way.

PatTheHammer · 22/05/2010 20:30

Tree is amazing, she did all this whilst parenting the 'H' bomb and being a fab mummy to J too

WRT the sunburn thing I need to ask what factor others are using. My two are really fair, especially E who has almost a translucent skin. I have used factor 50, the Nivea kids one and done 3 applications on her today and she still has a very red face this evening. She was not out in the sun between 12 and 2 either really. Tree, what do you use on J and H? What about anyone else with fair bubbas??

My dinner was lush Dog, homemade baked beans to top it off, nom-nom-nom..... Hope your picnic dinner was good.

Just to make you sick my nearest H&M is 20mins away in Gloucester or 25mins in Bristol..............can't afford anything though!

Big hugs for poorly HKZ, must be another girl I think! Not sure what to recommend. my SIL says that eating 3 biscuits before she gets out of bed helps!

So today has been a mixed bag after the shocker that was yesterday:
Woke up at 6.05am
DH gave me a brief lie-in
dropped car off for MOT, which it failed....but only by one tyre[nottobademoticon]
Had lovely summery stroll around the town and farmers market this morning
Lovely brunch at outdoor cafe
Went for eye test and DD put my sunnies on the chair I was about to sit on and they snapped
Dorothy Perkins gave me a free pair as they were almost new
lovely playing in the garden this afternoon and DD finally mastered how to ride her flipping bike which has been driving me crazy
Effing washing machine didn't arrive as the delivery guy broke down....its coming tomorrow, alledgedly.
Lovely stroll on the common avec ice-cream before tea
Nice cold beer in the garden after DC's in bed.

So I think that the 's outweigh the 's....just about!

Oh, and DH actually WON £200 in his skittles competition last night, he is very proud as he can now call himself the best skittles player in Cheltenham.....apparently. He also bought home a ruddy mammoth monstrosity of a trophy which is eye-balling me from the top of the telly

teaandcakeplease · 22/05/2010 20:45

I use the Johnson's baby one in a small tube that's no more tears and sun block. It seems to only come in one factor. My girl is very pale skinned though

Sounds like a lovely day Pat! you big time, being stuck in doors with spotty ones!

Congrats to your H on skittles comp

My H&M is down the road in Watford town centre Harlequin shopping centre

PatTheHammer · 22/05/2010 20:51

Thanks tea

It means a hell of a lot to him and ,well, not much to me really apart from the fact that he is happy....Oh, and DD's party is paid for in a few weeks!

Meant to say so sorry about all the crap that you have been through with your H and your ex. I agree with all the things that dog and MissJ said, oh and moose was right that your PILs were being very unreasonable in suggesting you drive up with two tiny people in the car on your own.

Hope you can go out soon when they are nice and scabby, have you a garden that they can run about in at all or are you literally stuck in?

I live in a 2 bed flat, there is a big grassy area outside if I go downstairs and walk round block to back. But tbh we head over to Verulam Park in St Albans often, as it has a water area for toddlers, crazy golf, cafe and therefore ice creams and playground and in Summer a bouncy castle out for £1 a go. You can buy duck feed for 50p and feed ducks all with a view of cathedral. You can see where I'm going with this. My toddlers prefers it there to a bit of grass here and so do I Cannot wait for spots to go now....

Watford's Cassiobury Park is nice too and has a little railway doo daa they can ride on as well as toddler water paddling pools. So I'm lucky I guess that there's lots to offer here.

If I had my own back garden I'd buy a slide, swing, sand pit etc asap. Would be so nice. Maybe one day. I just go and visit friends a lot.

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 22/05/2010 21:03

evening from my dsi i also bought dd1 a sun dress today is blue flowery very pretty £6 in tesco and got her a sun hat 2 definetly the day 4 buying going 2 buy her purple one tom in sale. we went to a farm today is down the rd from us was lovely abit warm today girls luved it especially dd2 she had lots of free running space we tk a picnic 2.
tom going food shopping and dd1 has a party in aft.
tree scan sounds sweet
tea u hv been through alot!!

treedelivery · 22/05/2010 21:16

One day Tea. Bless you. It's much ncer for your lovlies to go visit and see friends than play in splendid isolation in a perfect garden. I really believe that.

My eggy donation thread is here

We use a new revelation - Banana Boat powder dry. It is...well....powder dry! No sticky sweaty horrid gunk. I love it. It's factor 25.

I have come to the conclusion that my 2 pale faces simply cannot play in the sun. They must have shadow and shade. SO I use sunblck to protect them for the times when they are between buildings or shadows, and for bounce back off the pavements etc. So 25 does for that. There isn't a block out there that can keep me and the dd's from burning. Apart from zinc whte block cream like cricketers wear

Pat - dh done well! Lend us a tenner What a nice thing to say about me, thank you. Cheered me up actually

I have been painting the doors under the little playhouse, and also trying to attempt the wood of the sash wndows outside. Painting sash windows that have 100 layers of flaking bottle green and royal blue paint on is no joke.

PatTheHammer · 22/05/2010 21:19

Tea, That park sounds lovely. Water play for toddlers sounds brilliant. We have seen a few like this on various holidays but nowhere locally has that sort of thing for free whoch is a shame.

We do have a Lido at our local park but it costs and arm and a leg to get in an is always jam-packed with the pupils from my school (I went lots on maternity leave during term-time just to avoid the feckers).

I heart crazy golf as well, always loads of that when we stay at mums in Bognor.

we do have a railway doo-dah though

Dog- homemade beans are worth it, we actually had none in the cupboard so I improvised a bit of a Tana Ramsey recipe. Let your DP do it though, much better if someone else makes food I find. The mash was delicious as DH made it and I didn't lift a finger to peel spuds or anything
I am quite chuffed with my little car, its MOT last year needed nothing, this ones only cost a 48quid tyre so all in all its quite a good little machine (or possibly could be down to my ecellent driving).

The Nivea blue is the one taht I have got and it says 50+. Perhaps I need to put it on thicker?? Beth always looks like a little surfer dude, such a lovely colour
Z taken to throwing off his hat at every available opportunity too. little more hair now though, think I forgot to mention that he actually had his first haircut the other week, at 16 months!!.
I just rub the cream over his head at the moment. Means I have to shampoo him every night but can't think of what else to do. When DD was small I had an excellent hat from Jojomamanbebe with cute ties that she couldn't undo or remove, have you trie one like that?

teaandcakeplease · 22/05/2010 21:24

I sewed a bit elastic to my DD's hat last year to keep it on her head elastic went from ear to ear! LOL

PatTheHammer · 22/05/2010 21:29

doing a serling job with the painting, its a task I hate with a passion. Although I did disconnect a washing machine today, does that win me any handy-man points??

the rest going on DD's party and assorted birthday gubbins, cake and so on. Poor DH, I did let him at least suggest what he would like to spend it on before I told him what was needed

that powder dry stuff sounds good, I have seen it but not heard anything. Will have a look in sainsbos tomorrow.

Tink- farm sounds good and you can never have too many sunhats. DD currently has 3 and she is always looking for them, they can never exist all together at the same time!

missjackson · 22/05/2010 21:51

pat N the same, will never keep a bloody hat on. Need one with ties. On the list... tea your elastic sounds like a brilliant idea - can you sew one on for me? No sewing skills here but I really should be able to stretch to that at least.

Well done pat's DH! 200 squideroonies is not bad at all.... reminds me that recently we thought OH had won £200 on the premium bonds as they sent him a cheque. We were about to celebrate but then it transpired that it was actually a refund for N's premium bond application (bday presents) that we had failed to complete properly - we are such wallies . One of these days I will get around to reapplying.

tea that park sounds wonderful - nothing like that around here. We have a lovely garden but when it's just me and N, it gets boring fast.

Am very of all the lovely summer dresses that the DDs are sporting.

tree we use kiehls factor 50 here and no burn, but I think N has OH's olive skin . Scan pics sound amazing. A friend is thinking of slightly similar thing, in that her DH will donate to their lesbian friends... I told her about you and how amazing you were.

dog maternity clothes sound lovely... it's nice to have some and feel a little bit normal, but bet you will be relieved to get out of them in a few months! Are you going to do a LG&T and have more after this?

Poor you hkz, sounds really awful. I can't think of any good advice I'm afraid. Hang in there, it must get better soon, surely.

tink good shopping skills, as always.

chefswife and tree love all radio flyer stuff. Too gorgeous. But sooo expensive here!

Lenni how's everything... are you feeling better? Any plans for half term?

Nice day here but knackered. Went to the local 'beach' on the River Wye which was really lovely except for the twats trying to ruin my day by killing themselves jumping off the high bridge into the shallow river. N's little cousin came along too (and parents) and we lay around and paddled and generally enjoyed the heat wave. Lush

Forgot to say pat, a fine use of MN emoticons in your post.
