had to do a new thread as the old one just wasn't pleasing my computer!

Tree - just read your Egg thread from start to finish! Amazing woman!

Evening all

Have read, but forgotten almost everything except there's been a fair amount of shopping going on.

Family party was okish but dd has been really poorly again all day and spent the whole time clinging either to my or dh's front and crying when either one of us went out of view. She has been so sleepy and lethargic the last couple of days. I got quite worried about her at one stage, so went to get my mobile to call the out of hours doc. Typically, as soon as I'd got the phone number up on my phone she perked up and started chatting, pointing and smiling etc.

Brought her home and she did the nappy to end all nappies. I thought her 10 day stored up bf nappies used to be bad - but this - defies description. 3 dc's and I've honestly never seen anything like it in my life. (and that's not envy I'm showing ya there iykwim )

She ate 3 mini rice cakes and a small banana this morning and a tiny bit of bread at PILs, but has refused everything else except bm and water. Not much I can do really, except carry on with the bfs as and when she wants them. (I was supposed to be dropping the morning feed this week so that we only had the bed time feed left. ) She has lost such a lot of weight though and she was only a tiddler to start with.

If there's no improvement by Monday I will definitely call the GP. I wanted to call them tomorrow, but dh thinks I'm overreacting and they won't do anything as she is still bf and drinking water. I do feel happier now she's stopped being so lethargic and sleepy, so maybe he's right?

Sorry for the self-centred post again - am fretting.

treedelivery · 22/05/2010 23:06

Oh bless you.

Just feed her as much as possible Moosey. Magic BM will dave the day, adn give her all she needs till her appetite kicks in again. Even a few mins will give her an energy boost.

She's turning the corner and wll no doubt eat you out of house and home tomorrow or Monday.

moosemama · 22/05/2010 23:30

Thanks for the support Tree. Its nice to hear a calm sensible voice.

She's only wanting about 3-4 bfs a day, but is asking for her cup of water regularly inbetween.

My head says she's turning the corner and will be fine. My heart however, won't listen and keeps running round in circles flapping. A sad case of PLB syndrome methinks.

She's sleeping now - in her swing!

We can't go to bed cos its 24.5 degrees in our bedroom and I am so far beyond exhausted its ridiculous.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend off.

Actually, what are you doing on here - you have no dc's tonight do you?

treedelivery · 22/05/2010 23:35

No I don't. It's grand

I'm mooching about. We have done a bit n the yard, had a chinese and now dh and I are in a standoff as to who will give in and make a cuppa first!

I have extensive cakeage to eat yet!

SHe's getting loads of fluids so that's brill. Gotta love breastmilk.

treedelivery · 22/05/2010 23:43

Oh and now I want to move to Malton. The villas there are slightly like the West Yorkshire mill owner villas, only paler stone.
The town is lovely, lots of food and little trinket shops, and it is ok commute for work for DH and I.

thinking this or if I squint and blur my eyes this is nearly affordable. Assuming someone puts DH through uni for me and I go part time.

moosemama · 23/05/2010 00:02

Lovely houses Tree. How many sitting rooms has that first one got? Seems to go on forever.

Dd has just exploded everywhere again. Unfortunately she was asleep in her swing at the time, not sure on the nappy containment at the moment - have passed this one over to dh - but it sounded (and smells) as bad as the last one.

I've only just got the swing cover washed and dried from the last time she was sick on it as well.

120 · 23/05/2010 07:27

morning all. Moosey that sounds like a nightmare. Hope she is better for you this morning.

Tree, stop tempting us with lovely vans and houses. I'm cooped up in a 50m2 2 bed flat. grrr. Love that close up pic of J on your fb by the way! Hope you had a peaceful night.

I too am wondering about dropping the morning feed, but he does so love it. I know if I stop within a week he won't remember but still..

wwIII breaking out in the bedroom.. see you later.

If you find a way DOG let me know

120 · 23/05/2010 10:49

A good iced cupcake around 7, just before bath, gives a last-ditch crazy hour. They then zonk around 8ish and sleep very well. Worked last night when DD found the wedding cupcake I'd hidden from her at the back of the fridge. She also declared that she'd had enough of her night nappy. Managed to wet the bed and completely sleep through it.

120 that looks really good, enjoy the day. Greatweather for it.

Everything would be so much more fun and laid back if we could trust this weather wouldn't it? We could go to so many events as big treats, rather than 'Oh well we might go, if t's raining on the day we wont'. You'd hardly need to go abroad if the sun shone over summer in blighty.

Well, sorry DOG, but we slept till 10.30, then I hung out more washing, made 2 cups of tea,and am now mning in bed with a cuppa and selection of buns from yesterdays food fair. My kind of breakfast! DH is still snoozing.

The oreo cupcake one rocks.

Only down side to the weather, the ironing. Everything is nearly done, and I may as well get the sheets and duvet covers done.......looking at 4 hours ironing I reckon.

Work tomoorow too.

missjackson · 23/05/2010 12:35

Old Smithy looks amazing tree and can't believe the price, really quite reasonable - around here, everything is just crazy, and lots of second homes and holiday homes. I walk up the little lane behind our barn and most places are deserted in the winter . Go for it!

120 thanks for the cupcake tip . Mela looks like my kind of day out - have fun.

Was thinking about stopping feeding today. My main reason which is totally selfish is that it would be nice to have my regular boobs back and be able to wear little summer tops and vests without looking like jordan . No, it's really not a good look. You know what I mean. Wouldn't even know how to begin to stop though. He hearts it so so much. Any ideas?

Mum coming for lunch, N asleep, sausages on the barbie in the oven, spf50 on, now for the washing....

teaandcakeplease · 23/05/2010 12:47

Oh Miss J know what you mean.

Try some of the ideas on here?

treedelivery · 23/05/2010 12:48

House prices here are amazing. In fact, they are odd!

Up to about £200 and everything is a bit expensive really. I think thats because this area isn't well off, so lots of people are chasing regular family homes.

Get over that band, and you can get amazing houses for really not very much considering. Huge detached affars with orchards for £350k. Which is waaaaaay out of my rality, but doesn't seem so much for the house.

No tips on stopping feeding. When I stopped H was much younger, I simply swapped the feeds for bottles, and dh gave her the night time feeds so there was no temptation. Maybe just try that?
DD had to stop feeding rather early really. I tried to get her to relatch a few times recently. She just laughs her head off and pulls away. I completely understand wanting to wear normal clothes again though! It was bliss tbh, I loved gettng a proper bra on and not having to think about it.

How is dd today Moose? Hopefully the nappy explosions are over.

treedelivery · 23/05/2010 12:49

Hello tea

teaandcakeplease · 23/05/2010 13:23

kids driving me bonkers today. They're both itchy, grumpy and hot and my boy is being especially troublesome in emptying my kitchen cupboards and when i say "no" screaming.

Fun fun fun, I can hear them mucking about instead of going to sleep. Tis too hot for them

teaandcakeplease · 23/05/2010 13:24

After 4 days inside, I think they have cabin fever tbh

treedelivery · 23/05/2010 13:30

Are you able to get out today? If not, make some playdough. Always a winner.

teaandcakeplease · 23/05/2010 13:33

No not all spots are scabbed over yet

Playdough paints, colouring and stickers all available. Not to my son though as he eats everything still

treedelivery · 23/05/2010 13:38

this might be fun, or try the legendary mumsnet 5 min chocolate cake in a mug

this ideal for the son who eats everything, but who has those ingredients handy!?

moosemama · 23/05/2010 13:45

Hi

Dd is much brighter today and has eaten porridge made with mild and bananas plus a small triangle of toast without an explosion. She's also played a bit today, which is the first time since last Tuesday, so must be on the mend. Am so relieved, she was so weak and poorly yesterday. Am also slightly worried about what is going to occur in the nappy department as she hasn't gone at all this morning and that's what happened yesterday - nothing all day then constant explosions of mammoth proportions all night.

MissJ, I just dropped bfs one feed at a time, until I was left with morning and night only. I used the don't offer, don't refuse method for dropping the daytime ones and just made sure she was fed and watered enough throughout the day that she had not need to ask and I was sure she didn't need a feed for nutritional reasons iyswim.

Next step for me would be to drop the morning one, probably by changing the morning routine around so that she's not expecting it iyswim and again not offering but not refusing if she demands it or gets upset about not having it. Finally the bedtime one would go, athough I'm not sure what to do about that one tbh as she won't drink any other type of milk so I wouldn't be able to replace it with anything other than a bottle of water and I always think they need a nice comfort drink as part of the bedtime routine.

Dh has taken the boys to ToysRus - the mad fool. Have to buy a present for the little boy whose birthday party ds2 is going to this afternoon. Its a go-karting party and he is so excited.

Ds1 is back to being a right pita now he's well again, so dh has had him digging holes gardening for most of the morning to keep him out of my way. Still managed to have a huge bust up though - always do on a Sunday.

Can't believe this weather - its stunning, I'm hiding in my living room and kitchen though, as thanks to 'she who shall not be named', we have no shade in our garden anymore and I am hopeless in the heat. Was lovely in PILs garden yesterday, as they have lots of mature trees like we did this time last year so we could all sit in the shade but still enjoy the beautiful weather.

Really should go and eat something I suppose. Haven't eaten anything at all yet today. Have so much to do, but am far too tired to do any of it. We were up till 1.30 with little miss exploding bottom and then didn't get much sleep because of the heat and dd being generally restless and poorly. Dh gave up at 5.30 am and brought her downstairs, as its always cool in our living room.

Why is it that whenever I come on here all your weekends (except last weekend) sound so much nicer than mine. Harrumph!

Think I'll plan a day out for all of us next weekend as we never seem to do nice things as a whole family anymore and the next two weekends after that are taken up with family birthdays.

teaandcakeplease · 23/05/2010 13:45

My playdough is home made with 1 cup of salt in it Doesn't stop him eating it. Chocolate play dough is awesome, what is corn syrup though? Does it cost to become a member of this website?

I think as both kids had me up last night a lot from itching and heat, I think that maybe why today in my perception is worse Keep feeling tearful. May also not help that H is with OW this weekend

treedelivery · 23/05/2010 13:50

Oh love. What a shitty shit time for you. You must feel under so much pressure. ((((((hugs)))))) I bet they are itchy with the heat too, like you say. Piriton?

No idea if it costs tbh, I just google what I want with their name also, and it always comes up trumps.

Any old oil will do, cornoil is popular in America cos they have lots of corn. Use sunflower or veg or whatever you have.
