Awww books I'm hoping it was a silly off the cuff remark and he didn't mean it the way it sounded.

I'm just about to try a low carb one after looking at another thread. Care to join in? If you're feeling motivated?

Books, men are cruel sometimes, they just don't think things through. I bet it wasn't intended
to hurt but good on you for cycling, I would liceto sy I was doing something like that. Need to get healthy.

Have spent today in A&E, DD has fractured her collarbone poor thing. I'm not sure how long I can put up with this level of moaning though.

Still no computer but hopefully get online tomorrow
if DH brings a laptop home from work.

Just had fab time catching up with all your chat, lots of laughs, but sadly can't stop for a proper post. Bookmarking my place and hope to be back later. N is currently going to bed at circa 10pm (but sleeping till 9am!) so I am not getting much evening time, but am hoping to move him back to an earlier bedtime tonight. Hoping

allshoppedout · 05/06/2010 18:26

hi

i have had a greqat bday bought myself k swiss trainers on sale, tshirts, jewellery, cuddly toys for car. got dd1 doodles.
had nice bits for lunch
having dominoes for tea
too hot here for me!!!!!!!

dog - that must be stressful sounds like you have been given good advice i am not the best person to speak too i ma a spend thrift

moosemama · 05/06/2010 20:07

Not stopping, just came to say Happy Birthday Tink! (It is today isn't it?)

Lenni - oh no! Poor dd. However did she manage to do that?

Books - I hear ya. I have been on a major downer about my weight and looks this week. I desperately need to do something drastic about it, but knowing me and as its my birthday next week, I'm unlikely to stick to anything before then, as I'll keep using the weekend off as an excuse.

Anyhoo. Am off again. Lots of stress and tantrums (me not the dcs) here, but nothing interesting enough not to bore your pants off, so will be back when I've sorted meself out a bit.

PatTheHammer · 05/06/2010 20:34

Anyone else watching BGT final?? I am officially in love with that dog

Moose- sending hugs

Books- My Dh would have had a large LeCreuset to the head for that comment, to steal a phrase from Tree. Can you believe this, the girl I go running and swimming with has been given a photo of what her H would like her to look like, a Bravissimo model!!!!!!!!!.
I have frequently told her he is a complete knob-jockey for this and she won't be happy if she is doing it for him and not herself IYSWIM.
Anyway, go on with the cycling but do it for YOU!

Lenni- Poor DD, How ouchy for her. Can't imagine how she will get comfy at night and stuff. Typically E has had about a million accidents today including Z butting her in the face by accident, but nothing on the scale of yours!

Tea, Yay for potty training!
Can't do low carb me, I need carbs to fill up! I just switch to healthier carbs and eat less refined crap. I made a lovely spag bol tonight that was only 500 cals a portion, yum-yum!

Well, morning at the skanky outdoor Lido this morning that DD haas been banging on about, It was bloody Freezing. Quite nice in a tacky kinda way but the toilets were the WORST I have ever seen, I complained to the 'yoofs' who were running the place and they clearly just thought I was deranged.
My children were supposed to walk BAREFOOT in there.........urghhhh
Then DD had a friends party this afternoon with an entertainer woman who was quite good but i nearly fell asleep during the worlds longest game of pass-the-parcel. Seriously, how do they expect 3/4 yr olds to sit through that!!

Hope everyone else had good saturdays, avoiding looking at your pizza Tink, too much temptation

120 · 05/06/2010 21:14

evening all. Pat, thanks for clearing up the pizza thing. In my ignorance, I thought it was those chocolate cubes with some sort of cake and jam. Was wondering why Tink was having them for supper. . Tink, happy Birthday if it is!

Lenni, hope DD ok.

Tea - Yay! Good luck, can only get better from here. Put a piece of paper in first, I say (easier to clean). I also had a visible treat on a plate for when the deed was done.

Moosey hope you get some rest.

Books, you can always withdraw favours have a headache until flowers and carrot sticks chocolates are bought.

OP posts:
teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 21:36

Good point on piece of paper; certainly after her 3rd poo today, that she insisted on doing in the potty and me scrapping out after I was wondering how to persuade her to do it on the loo. Yuck!

Like 120's idea of headache books

PatTheHammer · 05/06/2010 21:48

Tea- Run water into the potty before you tip and flush, this minimises scrapage.

It is sooooooooooo boaksome though, I hat potty poo, it always stinks. Considering training DS straight onto loo now, you have brought back some bad memories

120- How is your DH?Any reappearance of the sausages yet?

PatTheHammer · 05/06/2010 21:49

Ooops, hat??? wtf? HATE obviously!

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 21:52

Yes, until today she'd been doing everything on the loo like a big girl (only wee's), as we'd bought a family toilet seat. Why she's regressed to a potty again today, I have no idea. I couldn't say no though after what feels like weeks of trying to persuade her to do a No.2 anywhere except her knickers!

Poor old HKZ, really hope she's not lurking today with my disgusting posts

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 21:54

Looking at Fathers Day cards for my H online, but they all talk about what a great dad they are but he left me and DCs for a 21 yr old. So I don't feel like it's true enough to buy one saying all those things. Just need a plain one saying Happy fathers day

Am I being out of order? You can tell me.

120 · 05/06/2010 21:56

I saw HZ today. She is doing better and too knackered to MN so I've dropped the warnings for now. Then again, H did manage to poo on her patio in RL so compared with that a bit of potty talk ain't so bad. I've now got memories of doing nappies whilst pregnant. That was gruesome. I haven't been able to give H any of those plum pot ready meals as they came out of DD smelling the same as they went in.

Pat, he binned them in the end. Am still chuckling. Had to stop myself from saying 'what a waste'! Am still chuckling. In a non-vindictive manner, you understand.

OP posts:
PatTheHammer · 05/06/2010 21:57

God yes, sorry HKZ!

Yep, my DD would do a wee on the loo for ages but still insisted on the potty for a poo for about 5 months or so, arrrrrrggghhh!

Mind you, we had no downstairs loo and I had DS when she was only 2.5 so it was kind of easier I guess.

She just decided one day that the loo was the way forward, I think we were on holiday at the time and no potty present!

120 · 05/06/2010 21:58

nope tea, I think you are completely right. If I were you I'd let the kids make one... something really big and ugly that they will ask to see regularly and ask him if he likes it.

OP posts:
120 · 05/06/2010 21:59

I maintain that 1 treat for the potty, 2 for the loo is the way forward. Smarties or gummi bears.. something v small.

OP posts:
120 · 05/06/2010 21:59

must go to bed! night all.

OP posts:
PatTheHammer · 05/06/2010 22:01

Oh, x-posts 120...glad she is feeling better, probably not a great presents from H though!

Tea- just get them to make him one, don't waste your money on it, honestly I would send something MUCH worse in an envelope if it was me (relates to much of the chat we have just had actually [evil])

Seriously though, he is still their Dad so I understand how you feel but don't spend money on him and get a card that you don't agree with.

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 22:02

Hope it's not 5 months for my DD on the potty but I mustn't complain, as it's better than the alternative.

Is it really 10pm? I really need to get off this Computer too.

Night ladies x

PatTheHammer · 05/06/2010 22:04

Night all, I am also wilting at the keyboard but the bedroom feels about 50 degrees, not sure sleep will happen soon

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 22:04

X posted with you Pat. Thank you for your lovely message and 120's. I never do crafty things with my DCs but I'll try. You're right home made is better.

missjackson · 05/06/2010 23:18

Oh no hope of catching up properly . I will just have to be rude. You all seem to be surviving the heat... tea, have all the spots gone?

chef lol at under-carriage chafing... does he wax? My ex used to have back sack and crack.... new model has never heard of such a thing! pat also big lol at candula cream, but that's a good tip. My DH as you can imagine spends a lot of time in the saddle and so chafing etc is pretty regular - I will pass on your tips to him!

tea I think you are being very generous and sweet to organise a card for your H.

books ouch at that comment - men just don't think sometimes....I can imagine it's pretty hard to brush that off though, but I am sure if he understood how terrible it made you feel he would feel terrible himself.... and on similar lines, pat I cannot believe your friend whose OH wants a bravissimo model... I hope she went back with some photo of brad pitt or whoever floats her boat, and tells him that's what she wants... what an utterly mean thing to do to someone you are supposed to love!?!

lenni, tree, dog, I tried out my new nappies today - tots bots easifit leaked, loved the bambooty, and was very impressed but in a boring sort of way by bumgenius. The great thing about bambooty is that it's all held together and has sort of double elastic around legs for containment... can see why bumgenius so popular though, great absorbency. So not sure what to go for now... Bambooty do the cutest owl print ever but all sold out. Cheeks and cherries lovely site, and came all packaged nicely, so thanks for the tip.

Have had lovely week enjoying hay festival. It's so fab for kids. They have a massive tent with loads of books and beanbags, and sand tables etc, and a gorgeous garden with 'wigglos' made from growing willow, and all sorts of things for the kids to get into. N just had the most fun. I think we will go back for one last hit tomorrow before it's all over. Can highly recommend for anyone next year.

Must go now, N awake... waves to everyone else.

chefswife · 06/06/2010 06:00

Good Morning Ladies! Its like I'm your wake up call or something. lol

Books I'm sure it was a bit tongue in cheek. DH will make comments sometimes but I remind him that he wasn't hairy when we met. (It just doesn't seem to stop growing in places. He's going to be a Sasquatch by the time he's 50! lol)

DOG You are gorgeous... and right, if we had 'people' we'd all be strutting around like we stepped out of Vogue.

MissJ Back Sack and Crack.... holy crap I'm howling! He's thinking of coming with me to my next waxing to ask a few questions, namely, 'Will you wax my balls?'. DH is so crass sometimes, but always makes me laugh, but leaves strangers dumbfounded. Sounds like you had a great time with the family at the hay festival. Can't wait to go to Ontario at the end of the summer because it is festival time there up north.

Tea I always buy a blank cards and write what I want. That way you can keep it simple and it will be sincerely you.

Today I was so productive. Grocery shopping done by 9.30, music class at 10, walked home, (10 minute walk turned into 40 but whatever, DD was having fun picking the heads off every dandelion we saw), then lunch, then play, then nap for DD, then got the damn dishwasher sorted, (whole bottle of draino does wonders), laid the sheeting for the grass sod, baked about 5 dozen oatmeal and raisin cookies, made dinner, cleaned up, played, bathtime, books and cookies time (DD and I crawl into our bed and read and she gets half a digestive cookie, then MN catch up. Nice.

Pat Oh ya. DH cracked out the calendula diaper cream. He uses all the time. It does wonders that stuff. Welda brand.

Have a fabulous Sunday all.
