had to do a new thread as the old one just wasn't pleasing my computer!

Afternoon

Still tumbleweed on here I see. Hope that doesn't mean the poorly ones aren't getting any better.

Tea, bed at 5.00! Hope he slept right through for you and is feeling much better today.

Well, I have just seen off just under £50.00 in the Mini Mode buy one, get one half price sale. Dh will be livid, but in my defence she had almost no hot weather clothes other than a couple of party dresses and I think I've bought just about everything she's going to need until the autumn and saved myself £20 in the process. Have put it on the dreaded plastic, so may not actually own up until the bill comes in.

I also have a basket full on the Tesco clothing site, but think I'd better go and delete those now.

Beautiful weather here and we've spent most of the day stuck in waiting for a package and our Tesco delivery. After doing housework all morning and then putting away a huge load of shopping I am now too tired to go out anyway - and its bloomin freezing in our house, despite being gorgeous outside.

120 · 28/05/2010 17:25

hello, really odd weather down here! chuck us a brownie, mj. Afternoon Moosey.

We've been at the Dartmoor miniature pony centre all day and are completely whacked. Such a cool place to go as relatively cheap and a full day out.

Tea, how long did he sleep for last night?!

Right. Off for supper.

mm - good shopping

i received all my amazon bits today

mini kids crayons for bracken she is getting good @ colouring

bits for her bday a snuggle pod sft doll and bucket of wooden blocks
a leapad scribble and write for dd1 now to help her with writing

moosemama · 28/05/2010 19:37

Hi tink. Dd has a pea-pod doll. I bought it for her first birthday and she loves it.

She loves the boys old leap-pad, especially the 'one-bear in the bedroom' and 'guess how much I love you' books. Another current favourite is their old colour magna-doodle drawing board thing, she loves scribbling away on that. She also loves sitting in her high chair drawing with chunky drawing pencils and books are high on her list of favourites at the moment as well. She has a huge basket of wooden bricks that used to be her brothers, plus all the alphabet blocks from her walker and her liquid colour block things, but she doesn't seem very interested in any of them at present.

I was mulling over earlier today what it is that's missing from her toybox, as she seems a bit bored of its contents at the moment.

What are everyone else's little ones enjoying playing with at the moment? Inspire me.

treedelivery · 28/05/2010 21:04

Hello all.

My dd is mostly playing with an old milk carton.

Sorry to have been so awol. It's been mega busy here. Just on from longday, and last night I fell asleep at 6.45 and didn't wake up till 1am I've been mega tired this week.

Bummer about ebay 120!

Where is HKZ?????

hackneyzoo · 28/05/2010 21:20

Hi tree! I'm here...with my head down the toilet!
Have been lurking....no energy to post anything!
Hope you are feeling less tired tree.

Also hope all the poorly babes are on the mend.

Jude had his MRI today, all went well and we were home by 2p.m. See oncologist next week.

Its half term...I intend to spend it under my duvet!

moosemama · 28/05/2010 21:28

See, I knew it - dd hasn't got an old milk carton to play with. She has a Cath Kidston catalogue, the inner tube from some kitchen roll and a tupperware pot - but no milk carton.

Sounds like you needed that sleep Tree. Hope you are feeling better for it. Dd teased us with a couple of really good nights' sleep then reverted to her usual chaotic cot perambulating, shouting out in her sleep etc self. I was just starting to feel human and am back to feeling bleugh again already.

You have inspired me to do something about our back garden. So tomorrow, weather permitting, we are having a family/team effort on tidying up our scrappy dustbowl in the hope of making it look decent at the very least.

Hi HKZ, sorry to hear you are still in ms hell. Have you found anything you can eat yet? Glad the MRI went well.

treedelivery · 28/05/2010 21:44

Great te hear from you HKZ, be sure to let us know how you get on. Poor you and the ms. Yak!

Enjoy the day n the garden Moose.

Dd2 is up. Again. t's every hour to every 2 hours at the mo. DH is sooooo tired.

She's sat on the step looking through a cookery book

moosemama · 28/05/2010 22:07

I have just discovered a site selling canvases and prints of original early ladybird book pictures. here

It was on mn on their shopping page.

I would so love to buy some, my boys have Bunnykins Picnic Party, Mick the Disobedient Puppy, The Runaway, The Green Umbrella and quite a few more. I went through a spate of buying them when ds1 was tiny and the boys loved them. They know all the rhymes off by heart.

Night Dog. Poor little I.

Dds toys are pretty much all hand me downs as well, I have bought her a couple of bits here and there, but nothing significant other than her wooden walker/pushalong truck thing. She even loves playing with the boys old ELC Planet Protector toys!

Sounds like there isn't anything desperate missing. She is such a livewire and always into everything, a lot moreso than her brothers were at this age. I guess I was worrying about keeping her stimulated so that she doesn't get bored.

PatTheHammer · 28/05/2010 22:33

Hello, shocking attempt at a catch-up

Just got back from my friday night swim, have lost 3lbs this week so dead chuffed!

HKZ- sorry still poorly, yay for half-term and great that the MRI went well. Let us know any further developments.

Moose- DS mostly playing with tractors/cars and garage/bob the builder and postman pat toys/sand-pit/my watering can/happyland and just getting into DD's peppa pig toys. Oh, and his favourite at the moment........his willy. He won't leave it alone!

Yay for new garden Dog, think you asked about the size of my friend's DS a few days ago. He is currently 4lb 10oz, very diddy!!!! I changed his nappy as well on monday, frightening experience as his arms and legs are pencil thin!!

120-sounds like a fab hols

MissJ=hope cooking going well and evening a success. I may have to take a day off from my diet on the 17th if you are bringing brownies

Hi Tree, hope you manage a rest this weekend.

Hi Tink and everyone else

I will be back tomorrow hopefully although DH has majjorly buggered his back and can barely moved so I feel like I have 3 children at the moment and a single parent at that. I am trying to be sympathetic.....but its hard!

moosemama · 28/05/2010 22:50

Aargh, stop with the positive weight loss stories - I have just eaten a chocolate caramel cream eclair.

Seriously though, well done you Pat. Can I borrow some of your motivation please?

As for ds's favourite plaything. Hmm, not sure I can provide her with anything on a par with that! (Don't listen to what anyone tells you by the way, they don't grow out of it y'know - boys!)

Am going to wend my weary way now, having just realised its nearly 11.00 and I had promised myself I wouldn't be in bed after 10.30.

Night all.

120 · 29/05/2010 10:54

morning all! very wet here. Kids have been taken oot for a wet stomp round the garden.

I'm planning supper and mooching in the warm! Think I'm going to do a bit of painting and making more choc balls and some pikelets too. Lovely to have time and energy to cook. Haven't pushed a pram for a whole 5 days now and my stamina is returning!

Just as H has started to go through until 6.30, DD has decided to go nappiless at night and therefore I get the 'mummy, I've wet' call each night at 4am. Any ideas? She is good as gold, changes and goes back down but I'm then stuffed for the next hour or two.

Toy-wise, H has this little thing where you hammer balls in and they go down various tubes which we were given. He also adores putting any sort of coins into money boxes. He also loves the pram and puts upsy daisy in for and takes her for little walks.

Hi folks. We are on a tdy up mission [currently dh is lying in bed with dd2 to try get her to sleep, dd1 is watching tv and I'm on mn, but we have hgh hopes ]

I want to have a tidy house, so I can then pack and get ready for London in a calm way. Haaa HAAAAAAAA!

We leave at 6.20am on Monday, so I really don't want to spend tomorrow stressing. I want to spend it relaxing!

Have lovely Saturdays. Toys are everywhere n this house. DD1 is at the age where toys shrink, they are all tiny little bits of nothing that are very precious to her.

DD2 had a wooden toy influx when a company did a half price code, and various other nice thngs. None of which she plays with. She is heavily into a magnadoodle type thing from the charity shop. Typical!

Mi house is a tip. I may even have to ......hoover.....and......mop floors.....Gah.

Still totally zonked. Dunno what's up with me!

teaandcakeplease · 29/05/2010 11:07

Jacob slept through to 7am ish, he did wake a few times in night and need a feed to settle but I think he's have done that anyway with his ear. He seems a bit better today, so hopefully he's turned the corner now on the ear infection. Last night he slept better but still cried out a couple of times.

My DS likes his cars alot and pushes them along making brrrrmmm noises, he likes the brio very very much and sending the trains whizzing down the hill and round the corner, to wow sounds. He likes building towers with blocks and knocking them down. Chunky crayons and paper or the elx scribbler and noisey musical toys too.

How's your DD now DOG?

treedelivery · 29/05/2010 11:09

I can't believe how long that chair took to come tea. I asked about it at the po a few days ago. Is it wrong to suspect it was lying in the back, forgotton about till I mentioned it. As it magically turned up the next couple of days????? Hmmmm.

teaandcakeplease · 29/05/2010 11:24

Probably Tree, I'd have thought the same too.

120 · 29/05/2010 14:43

hi tree, hope you got some tidying done! Afternoon tea, glad J doing a bit better.

MJ I now have to say do try the choc balls as I've just made my second batch for the PILs (first batch 2 days ago was 60). I rolled them in ground almonds and included whiskey in this one. Want to try rum next, so defintely adult friendly as well. The original recipe had 50g butter in. I've been doing them without the butter so have taken that off the recipe as I don't think it needs it, but may be worth trying both ways.

Meant to ask, Lenni was it you who did the stuffed Butternut squash recipe? Did you do it for vegetarians or meat eaters?

Pics of girls. Hope no one minds me linking these in!! I'm rather in love with these pics at the mo. Mum had the one of both of them put in a frame for us. I might put it by teh front door to remind me to keep calm and plough on when I'm off to work or battling the school run
