Fanjo Warriors, here we are

RespectTheDoughnut · 20/09/2010 10:26

By livelier, do you mean the tone will be lowered? Because I'll have you know that I'm terribly mature these days & have no interest in smutty innuendos or anything of the sort. Definitely not.

& yes, I assume that the quiet is mostly to do with life just getting in the way. I know that not everyone lives with such as charmless manchild as I did Grin

Is Hazel's tongue okay? Mouths bleed such a lot that that must've been really dramatic :(

surprisenumber3 · 20/09/2010 11:35

Hi Doughnut :) welcome back.

Gosh, I have posted twice in 4 days, must get back to the housework :D
Hope you all had a good weekend.

bronze · 20/09/2010 13:52

Hello Doughnut
wondered how you were
(this is where I discover you're not who I thought and I'm being fick)

Life- ahhhh

You know how I started decorating so we could sell our house, um, 2 years ago now. Well we have a buyer (though theyre being arsey) and we have a completion date of 6 weeks time and have nowhere to live. What fun

I have a sicky bug, dd had it, then Izy now it seems its my turn.

RespectTheDoughnut · 20/09/2010 14:29

bronze, you're sort of my RL namesake? I have you on FB :)

That sounds nice & stressful with the house! I suppose the most important thing is that you have a buyer - everything else will fall into place somehow because it has to.

Everyone's poorly! :( I hope you feel better very soon. It's horrible looking after other people when you're poorly - especially when they're over it & running around.

Hello surprise :) Housework schmousework.

Schulte · 20/09/2010 20:09

Harrrrumph. I typed a post earlier and the internet swallowed it all. What I wanted to say really was, in response to Surprise I think, the rug is on an oak floor and I love it. I spent the day ripping out the first half of the built in wardrobes and planting 70 spring bulbs so feeling rather satisfied, if a bit tired.

There was also something I wanted to say to Doughnut but can't remember what Sad

OP posts:
Bicnod · 21/09/2010 08:34

Doughnut! Good to have you back. Sorry you've had such a tough time :( hope life throws some good stuff at you from now on.

Schulte - DH is into his DIY, but I'm fairly sure ripping out wardrobes is a pretty untechnical thing to do. Have hammer, will smash. How's the new place? How are the girls? How's the work situation? I can't believe how looooooong it's been since we last caught up.

Auld - sorry to hear things are still stressful. Any plans?

Bronze - great news about the buyer - are you looking at any houses at the moment? Show us!

O is teething like mad - I don't really understand how he can still be teething, I'm sure he's growing extra teeth just to ensure I don't ever get a full night's sleep. Bless him.

RespectTheDoughnut · 21/09/2010 10:41

Hello Bicnod :) It is what it is, eh? Worse things happen at sea & all that. I got a reasonably decent night's sleep for once, so I'm feeling more philosophical than usual Grin

& yes bronze! Property porn!

bronze · 21/09/2010 17:22

yay I did get it right

dh ds1 and ds2 are now all sick ahhh

as for houses. We're going into rented as we can't find anywhere and we now have 5 weeks. With the rented it will be any which are within the right area, will accept a dog and four kids and that we can afford. Not many of them about but its a stopgap so I'll be looking at property porn soon.

BoffinMum · 21/09/2010 21:31

Dooooooghnut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking about you and I need you in RL so can you email me????

GrinGrin

RespectTheDoughnut · 21/09/2010 21:47

Boff Grin You need me in real life? Ooer. I don't believe I have your email address? Actually, I just looked on the FW FB to see - I'll use that one? If not, let me know & I'll send it again :)

bronze, those really are quite some criteria. I assume this'll lead to some very good property porn Grin

BoffinMum · 22/09/2010 09:06

Have emailed you back, Doughnut.
Are we going to do commune property porn again, like when we were all pg? To help Bronze?

Schulte · 22/09/2010 20:40

check out the kitchen

OP posts:
bronze · 22/09/2010 22:46

oh but Thetfords pretty grim

on closer inspection its far enough out to be ok
I'm loving the orangery/conservatory?

gingersarah · 23/09/2010 10:26

Hi Doughnut - glad to hear you are feeling postive about the next great new phase of your life. How is your course going?

Auld - be a tough management consultant - restructure without pity. Use flow charts, mind maps, brutally Socratic questions.

Bronze, good luck with your house!

and Schulte, congratulations on yours.

Bicnod, I am sure you will have good news soon... and well done on all your great new plans.

My news: dc 2 is due on April 6th!

Bicnod · 23/09/2010 21:02

RIGHT THEN YOU LOT (sorry for shouting - just wanted to get your attention...)

So are we meeting up this Christmas?

I vote for dinner then drinks - maybe Clapham Junction or South Bank or even (gasp) central London?

Who's up for it?

Yes, yes, yes, I know it's only September but I ordered the fruit for my Christmas cake today so I'm thinking ahead...

BoffinMum · 23/09/2010 21:14

I am up for that, if my fanjo is repaired by then. Wink

Can it be central-ish but near Kings Cross (but not in the dodgy bit, naturally)? Getting to Sarf London would be a bit tricky for me at the moment.

PuzzleRocks · 23/09/2010 21:42

Evening all

Things ticking along nicely here. Ellen had another A&E visit on Friday night but wasn't admitted so the meds seem to be working. It is a relief particularly since she starts nursery on Monday.

Auld your holiday sounded idyllic.

Blimey Boff, you are in the wars. I hope you are on the mend since you last posted.

WFH Park woman was an arse.

Schulte Hooray for the fab new house. You must get some pics on fb so we can all be nosey.
OMG to bitten tongue. Poor mite.

MrsG Congrats to your DS. What did he make/do?

Bicnod Career change sounds exciting. And a move? Lucky bugger! If you say Cornwall I will be very very Envy

Surprise Is Evie sleeping any better? Was it molars? We had a hellish few weeks recently.

Doughnut Slot in amongst me anytime you minx! I hope you are back for good. As for real life, sorry you have so much crap to deal with. Here's to a bloody fantastic future, dust off that mojo, you go girl, um...Grin

Bronze How is the housing situation?

GingerSarah I was thinking of you yesterday. How the devil are you? And V?
Oh my I see. Pregnant. Fantastic. And another April baby. Just like me. A million congratulations. Have you told people yet?

PuzzleRocks · 23/09/2010 21:44

Bicnod I'm there with jingle bells on!!!!!!

Bicnod · 24/09/2010 19:25

Yay yay yay Grin

Right then. So.

Christmas get-together list:
Boff
Puzzle
Bicnod

Add yourselves on ladeeeeeeeeez.

How about this place? Casa Mama, Italian restaurant near King's Cross, got good reviews. And there are LOADS of bars we could go to afterwards if we fancy it - this place is quite cool, I've been there before. And there's always Scala if we're feeling exceptionally funky and brave. (I think by use of the word 'funky' I have probably proved I am not cool enough to enter the hallowed doors of Scala).

Dates - how about Fri 3 or Sat 4 Dec? Or the following weekend, Fri 10 or Sat 11 Dec? Has to be a non-school night so there are no excuses for good behaviour.

Oooooo getting excited now - come on April mums, sign up so I can book a table Grin Grin Grin

Schulte · 24/09/2010 21:28

Count me in Bicnod.

Ginger... wow, yay, hurrah!!! I thought you were umming and aahing about number 2?

Puzzle come round any time and be as nosey as you like Grin sorry about A&E trip, it's that time of year, I bet we'll bump into each other there some time!

Feeling very old today Sad

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 24/09/2010 21:34

Can we make it later in December rather than earlier, in case there are complications with my operation?

I am up for the meal but won't be able to do drinking barns because of the mobility thing.

However I will happily make merry over an Italian Wink

I used to eat here when I worked in the area:
www.london-eating.co.uk/5425-2.htm

Bicnod · 24/09/2010 21:46

Oh blimey, I missed that - sorry ginger - massive congratulations Grin and what a great month for DC2 to be born...

Schulte yay Grin

Ok then, December dates...

...how about, Fri 10 or Sat 11 or Fri 17 or Sat 18 Dec? - Boff would any of those work for you?

List so far for shenanigans:

Puzzle
Boff
Schulte
Bicnod
Doughnut

and I believe HarrietHoo might be popping along as well.

Where's that blardy Bolat woman these days? I've almost forgotten her it's been that long...

Also assuming Wriggly will come along - Puzzle, can you jab her in the ribs?

ginger can you be persuaded?

and WFH and gui??

BoffinMum · 24/09/2010 21:48

Saturday nights are good for me.
It will be great to meet everyone. Auld, can you come across for the w/e? You can stay at mine.

RespectTheDoughnut · 24/09/2010 22:22

gingersarah - back at uni on Monday, YAY. Totally daunted by the prospect, as this year's grades actually count towards my final degree classification, but definitely looking forward to it.

Another April baby on the way! Shock Congratulations! How are you feeling? Haww, I wish I had a lovely bump to keep me warm through the winter (how soon I forget that I hated pregnancy & don't have a man Wink)

Bicnod - I'm in. I will make sure I can make it one way or another, so as to pledge my dedication to you all anew Grin

Italian is always good with me. As are bars. But I must try to be relatively restrained because my idea of 'not good behaviour' are not very grown-up ones Blush

Puzz, sorry that Ellen had another A&E trip :( At least the meds are doing what they should, so fingers crossed it'll be a worry-free winter.

Auld, do come over! [puppy-dog eyes] (The rest of you get puppy-dog eyes, too - but not a whole emoticon worth, as you don't have the excuse of being abroad Wink)

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2010 18:54

I am exceedingly flattered. Smile Blush

I am, however, disappointingly unexotic, and unworthy of puppy dog eyes.

I would love to come, and might just do it if I can find a cheapo flight. It'd be great to meet you lot, plus a weekend away would be very good for me and could perhaps help make DH realise just how much gets done in the background without him noticing.
And I might take you up on your offer, Boff, if I need a base nr Stansted again. Thanks!

The earlier weekend would suit me better (10th/11th Dec).
I'd need a firm date fairly soon, to book a cheap flight.
Not that I am in any way dictating dates or piling on the pressure to make early arrangements. Hmm Blush
