Ok, so we split up into East Team and West Team. Everyone assume a gang name (bags me be Mr Pink), synchronise watches and meet back here for a slap up post-pasting brekker.

My plan to give the treasurer more control so that she felt happier totally backfired. She was jeering at me that I 'couldn't do numbers' and generally sneering and flouncing.

I actually thought I was going to be sick.

Apparently, my willingness to get other people involved has been read as a sign that I'm too incompetent to do the tricky bits myself. I'll help myself to a face I think.

The person hasn't done committees before and I was trying to say that they are there so that we can think about the possible consequences of numbers/choices, sort out any issues and put on a united front later on and avoid confusion.

She has done lots of great work so I really wasn't trying to be funny in any way. I've managed to sit on about 30 committees before without anyone going for the jugular.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

No better crew of women to have on our sides. You've put a small smile back on my face. I still feel really ill. Time to pour a drink I think.

On a positive note, Ryan Tubridy, the new Late Late Show host, read my tweet out on the radio this morning and said it was lovely.

And dh is home after his theatre trip got rescheduled to May. A kerfuffle for him but everyone in London was fabulous about trying to help.

DS was pupil of the day today, and so we made him 'Brother of the Week' (dd1 was keen on a short term of office) and 'Son of the Year' (due to loveliness but also low competition). I made his favourite dinner (a chilli) and then we walked to the shop and he had his first ever white magnum. Needless to say, I thought of Dizzy and Oops.

TS, i'll be round for dinner in a mo.

RedLentil · 19/04/2010 21:34

We need a crew for Loti as well after her sil's performance.

Thanks for being so kind Sazzles. I was trying to take that gentler approach outside meetings too. I think I'll just make sure I'm out of it by June when all of the paperwork side of things is in place.

I love doing community stuff, and will stick to the bigger, jollier committees I think.

Off to pour that drink now. And immerse myself in election coverage. 'Tis very exciting that everyone is feeling that their voice counts.

I will wake dh for a cuddle too. He is fast asleep next to ds.

Sazzles DON'T JOKE! The thought already crossed my mind but I'd be 10 weeks along and had two bleeds similar to AFs to ponder over. I'm tired! My anxieties are going crazy. I've had weirdo dreams. I've been caught up in household chores. I'm cooking!!! My belly seems suddenly poochy and this is WITH working out 3 days a week. My mind was all over this crap today and I even went and looked at belly shots of me so see what 10 weeks looked like last time.

I've totally gone nutz you know.

Can everyone tell I have trust issues.... I don't even trust the blasted doctor to have done DH's snip correctly!!!!!!

On a completely different topic: Chicken's looking really good. I think it's about done. I've been hiding here in the kitchen watching it brown. Reese can't open the kitchen gate and DD1 is watching an irritating movie.

So how many place settings do I need to set?

People = twats. Just remember dizzy and Red, you are far far better women than I just for even getting involved in community shizz in the first place. Plus you are kind and funny and thoughtful, and you have beautiful hordes of children I bet your bogus board members can't advise on the best heartburn remedies or critique theories of the body in modern literature. FEWLS THEY ARE.

TS should you maybe POAS?

GreenGardenia · 19/04/2010 23:30

Dizzy I can't begin to tell you how disgusted I am if the cafe types have basically sidelined you after you've given your time & energy & ideas & vision. Ithink that is really heel-like behaviour. I find it quite shocking too - ditto cyteen's equation. This low-life performance ... plus loti's sil who sounds like charm itself, plus Petty of the Playgroup looking for ways to turn a way of working into a drama of her own victimhood - WTF is wrong with people?

Farking volcanic ash for brains.

posting on phone hence my rather stilted rage

just so often, when push comes to shove, people turn out to be shit.

Urgh.

dizzydixies · 19/04/2010 23:32

feckers Red, utter feckers

my lot are now denying ever having offered me the job if I carried on with the work - I managed to keep my temperature (just) and not get upset (till I stepped outside) however I didn't manage to keep an entirely civil tongue

went to pub with the friend straight after as DH has two essays due on Fri and I didn't have the heart to come home and rant at him

very tired and am done being upset - now have to make a decison about whether or not I wish to be involved with this group anymore and frankly nobody wanted that cafe open more than me

Red - am only a short drive/swim/drive away if you want me to punch her lights out - happy to do so just give me the nod

and thank you all else, you are all lovely, again, as usual

GreenGardenia · 19/04/2010 23:34

Poopoo heads.

Fuck em.

GreenGardenia · 19/04/2010 23:37

Take a few days dizzy even though their craniums (crania? Check w Red) are full of fecal matter and/or Icelandic ash you should review ditch when you are cool.

dizzydixies · 19/04/2010 23:37

thanks VG, I knew you'd come in and sooth me with your words

dizzydixies · 19/04/2010 23:39

I've had several text messages already from the girl who sat there saying nothing and frankly providing me with NO FECKING BACK UP AT ALL and in which she's telling me that the Chair will be giving me a call to arrange a meeting he'd better leave it a few fecking days at least because if DH answers it you'll hear him in the Emerald Isle bless him

GreenGardenia · 19/04/2010 23:41

I find a well-chosen excrement-derivative insult is rarely out of place.

Are you a bit cut now? Or just still semi-steaming?

dizzydixies · 19/04/2010 23:43

I'm just devestated frankly. It wasn't a case of 'Dixie, we appreciate all the work you've put in and where you've helped get us to however we were naive to offer you a job that didn't exist and had no right to do so HOWEVER we fully support everything you do and hope you'll stay on to see through the application process'

it was blatant outright denial in essence calling me a liar.

GreenGardenia · 19/04/2010 23:44

Oh I can't stand a person who won't speak up and then scuttles round you afterwards with the pathetic consolation prize of a supportive text fgs.

Wow I love that your DH is roused to roaring. GO GO GO.
