Aw Dizzy. Maybe giving up the cafe would be a blessing in disguise? I mean you weren't expecting to be pg or a mum of 4 when you started it all. The baby is doing a fine job of wearing you out by itself, perhaps you should let something go to compensate. Slow down, sit back and enjoy the ride.

GladioliBuckets · 19/04/2010 11:44

In fact if you announced it as soon as you got to the meeting, they would be stuffed, see Eminem's battle at the end of 8Mile for example.

dizzy for you - want me to come sort them out? I'm nicotine deprived atm so would be terrifying slightly scary
I'm resisting cravings by eating buckets of popcorn and drinking gallons of tea. Was easier yesterday as had DP home to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Just to clarify about DP's lack of payrise - seems the boss hasn't given ANYONE a payrise. They're all well pissed off tbh. The boss has also been promising bonuses for the last 18 months, which have also never materialised. Basically he's a twat who's raking in the cash to fund a sleb style lifestyle for himself and his wife. He just doesn't want to reduce his profits by giving his staff the pay they deserve. If I had a job, DP would have handed in his notice that same day. But because I'm not earning he can't afford to quit this job. Ah well, I have an appointment with a temping agency on Wednesday, hopefully I'll get a bit of work from that.

QueenofDreams · 19/04/2010 13:43

ooh just seen this on fb Very interesting I think!

hotterpotter · 19/04/2010 14:24

Although Dr thinks it might just be slapped cheek, DD has probably just suffered an allergic reaction to Saturday's suncream for her and me so she has got antihistamines. Fingers crossed it gets better overnight or she will have to stay off nursery in case it is slapped cheek.

So as a treat and cos we couldn't go to our friends we went to asda to get a dvd and came home with Happy Feet. My goodness it was shit

QueenofDreams · 19/04/2010 14:29

haha hot I know what you mean about Happy Feet. Saw it at MILs. It's incredibly preachy isn't it? A bit like Ferngully in that respect.
Hope DD comes right with the antihistamine.

TwilightSurfer · 19/04/2010 14:40

Fern Gully is one of my all time favorite movies. I totally got the message the first time I saw it. It's right in line with my other all time favorite The Lorax. This from a girl who drives an SUV.

Dizzy breath and pass on the crap. It's you and Baby4 now.

Lucky shall we start our SIL-SUX club now?

TwilightSurfer · 19/04/2010 14:40

Oh I've not seen Happy Feet so no idea if I'd like the way it presents it's "message" if that's what it's goal is.

QueenofDreams · 19/04/2010 14:45

Well TS I did like Ferngully when I was little (saw it at cinema) but these days I get a little annoyed at preachy movies aimed at children. Feels too much like brainwashing. I should probably at that. A bit of a message in there is fine as long as it's got a good storyline/characters etc. But Happy Feet is nothing but Message.

cyteen · 19/04/2010 14:49

Ha ha hotter that reminds me of staying at my SIL's parents last year with DP and DS, plus SIL's sister+DH and their three kids. They had this awful Christmas animation that was the worst, most preachy nonsense I've ever seen, and badly animated too. The following morning, when all of us adults arose with stinking hangovers at 6.30am, it seemed like the best thing I'd ever seen

Just been doing an exercise DVD while DS naps. He has worn himself out at the stay-and-play this morning by spending the entire time running around, screaming, shouting, laughing and throwing things . Pretty much par for the course these days. I need to be fit to keep up with him!

Am sure I saw a few of the other parents giving me looks though, which made me a bit paranoid. I mean, what am I supposed to do? He's 1. As long as he's not hurting anyone, I can't see the harm.

GB - The Lorax is one of my favorite (and DDs) books. We read it daily sometimes 3/4/5/6 times.

TwilightSurfer · 19/04/2010 15:26

Reese is SCREAMING, "MINE! MINE! MINE!" She's trying to carry two balls down the hallway that are the size of soccer balls. She can't get BOTH in her arms at the same time. She's fussing like a wild child. I can't help but sit here and laugh while she learns this lesson.

hotterpotter · 19/04/2010 16:09

Honestly I don't mind films with a message, really what kids' film doesn't have one, but I like my message washed down with, erm, let me see, plot, characters and JOKES. Anyway was only 3 quid so no big harm done [phew]

TS LOL at R trying to carry two balls

Cyteen you right back at 'em. As long as he isn't biting/hitting their kids where's the harm? Toddlers are noisy

Have just been for a walk up the railway line with DS in his pushchair as Happy Feet wasn't quite boring enough to get him to sleep and it's fricking freezing . I was sunbathing on Saturday, wtf is going on???

TwilightSurfer · 19/04/2010 17:21

DH finally asked FIL about the beach. FIL appears to be excited about the offer. In his email he said he would ask MIL and report back later today. Apparently he'd planned to call today anyway because they were going to drive up this coming weekend to visit. Good to know.

HP it's sunny but cool here too. I sat outside yesterday in the sun with goosebumps.

Roller Coaster emotions seem to still be around. What's the deal! UGH! I just want to be happy and carefree all the time. Is that too much to ask!?!?!?!?!?!

Miamla · 19/04/2010 20:13

RedLentil · 19/04/2010 21:04

Am in tears here after having my head ripped off at a playgroup meeting. I had planned to tell Dizz to be brave and fight on, but fuck it, my dear, it isn't worth upsetting ourselves over.

TwilightSurfer · 19/04/2010 21:13
