I hate my work

GladioliBuckets · 24/04/2010 13:59

Oh well if we're all going to join in, I've been feeling queasy all week. AF was a day early but is funny colour and I had AF pain the day before I came on which is v odd. And my tantric sex night happened around ovulation so if there was any night that DH's non-existent swimmers came back to life it was that one.
But I'm off to get pissed in London tonight so I won't be testing anytime soon LOL.

BTW my NCT social went even better this time, over 20 grown ups paid to come and we made £30 profit.

QoD Wait and see if any morning sickness kicks in at 6wks. If you're v unlucky you could lose several LBs v quickly!

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/04/2010 14:04

warning...unashamedly gloat...

DS makes being a mum so easy some days. After his houdini antics over the last few weeks we've decided to move him into a bed. Well, DH is out today so thought I'd make a start. Mainly because I thought it was going to be a nightmare getting him to nap/sleep in it and figured I'd deal better with it than with DH over my shoulder with 'helpful' suggestions. So... moved the cot out, moved the room round, built the bed all with DS's help and then came down to play. When it was nap time (not a set time in case anyone's wondering, just happens when I see he needs it), we popped upstairs, I lay him down on his bed, gave him his teddies, popped his music on and left him to it. Over the monitor i could hear that he was changing the tune so he'd obviously got out of bed to have a potter! A few minutes later I couldn't hear any movement up there so I sneaked up to check and he was fast asleep in bed cuddling his favourite teddy!

Hmm, whilst singing his praises above, he is walking round the room, pretending to drink water from his cup and then spraying it onto the carpet....guess i'd better go and sort him out!!

alittlebitshy · 24/04/2010 14:26

aw that is lovely am glad it is working!
I fully intend to keep ds in the cotbed as a cot for as long as possible - dd was 3 when we changed it and that worked for her, but if he starts being a mini houdini i know i am so not going to be as calm and chilled about turning it into a bed as you are. well done

MrsMiamla · 24/04/2010 15:08

I'm a little worried that DH is going to be upset that he missed DS's first sleep in a bed but I hope he'll understand my reasoning why i just wanted to get on and do it

OrangePetal · 24/04/2010 15:16

oh and albs why wouldn't you be calm about doing the change? it was great to see how excited DS was!

OrangePetal · 24/04/2010 15:17

arse! i'm rubbish at this namechange thing

alittlebitshy · 24/04/2010 15:46

cos of him getting in and out when not tired.....
imo nighttime bedtime is a whole different ball game once the novelty has worn off!!!!!

alittlebitshy · 24/04/2010 16:00

(when i say not tired, i mean when it is bedtime and he thinks he still wants to be up but it is bedtime so there is really no negotiation!). we did have a gate on dd's in case she went a wandering in the night but she didn't and wouldn't have!

luckoftheirish · 24/04/2010 16:51

well done miamla on the moving beds.. i too am too scared to try atm.. figuring that eventually when i move dd2 to a bed will get bunk beds for the girls to share a room for a bit!!

we didn't go swimming in the end as dd1 was too tired.. so pleased as dd2 did a very horrific poo around the time we would have been in the pool!!!

so we have had a picnic in the garden, a play in the bath and noddles for tea!!!

now waiting for him to come back from footie to see how the land lies.. here's hoping for a more peaceful evening!!

CaptainCaveman · 24/04/2010 16:51

Aw, parade was lovely, absolutely fab with all of Notts beavers, rainbows, cubs, brownies, scouts, guides and other older folk who should know better (too many men in highwaisted trousers for my liking!)

cyteen I would like to retest tomorrow but it might be a waste of money because I'd retest on monday regardless (hence save some pennies by not testing tomorrow!)

I would be happy either way, plenty to look forwards to with either scenario. Dh on the other hand...well he'd be and . Takes two to tango though so at least he can't be .

I've managed to lacerate my arms to shreds by giving the pampas grass a haircut. Ouchio!!

CaptainCaveman · 24/04/2010 16:53

Who is orangepetal?

and who else is having chinese for tea?!

CaptainCaveman · 24/04/2010 16:57

GG here is what Charlie Dimmock is up to!

luckoftheirish · 24/04/2010 16:58

so pleased the parade went well cavey and i am very impressed at your will power not to test.. i'd be running out the door to get another if i was you!! so pleased that you will be happy either way and i am sure that your dh will be equally pleased if its a yes

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/04/2010 17:35

CC - you have great restraint! OP is also MrsM - I won't post her whole name as she is trying unsuccessfully to be anonymous

ataraxis · 24/04/2010 17:53

cyteen NOOOOOO!! not even in dreams. I'll leave the 4 scenario to Dizzy thanks

cc you do indeed have great restraint. What is it with the tests at the moment? I reckon they put in a load of duff ones just to make people spend more.

loti, glad you had a good day. Poo in the pool is a nightmare that we could all do without

Beds... well done Miamla . S'pose we'll have to go there at some point. My decision point is generally when they start launching climbing out of the cot themselves.

alittlebitshy · 24/04/2010 18:31

cc no, not chinese. pizza hut though .

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/04/2010 18:35

Ladies on our way to hoispital - have had what might be a leak of wters - back later hopefully.

TwilightSurfer · 24/04/2010 18:37
