Ay yes Dizzy. The voluntary sector is full of complete crap, and people take it because they are genuinely nice and want to help.

Thoughts for everyone.

dizzydixies · 19/04/2010 23:54

right am off to bed as I want to get there BEFORE dh tonight as another night on the couch is not happening! Apparently D's temp went down again so fingers crossed for the morning.

oh and friend who visited with her DD on Sat has phoned tonight saying that DD has caught chicken pox from D as she has a blister on her finger have sent her a text stating that incubation is 10-20days and as D was 2wks into the chicken pox and all the spots crusted over and fading if it DOES turn into pox it wasn't caught here - fgs, really - who could be sodding arsed.

am becoming a hermit other than speaking to the hairy truckers and the tesco delivery man

GreenGardenia · 19/04/2010 23:56

Oh ducks I can see that .

If they hadn't told you about mtngs etc over the last couple of weeks (? Not sure re chronology) sounds as if someone panicked before tonight.

It's weighing up really - opp to be involved vs wankers / want to see the rewards for all your work vs will you feel ownership of rewards / now you know what you can do vs do you have energy to replicate elsewhere etc etc into the night.

GreenGardenia · 20/04/2010 00:03

Sorry cannot be more useful with one paw on phone v slow & laboured writing.

I don'tthink I am normally over-effusive - well Ihopenot - for the record will state re this project:

amazement at your commitment - unwavering till slapped in face
admiration at your unending ability to produce solutions out of thin air
utter envy at your actual baking ability
complete respect for your work ethic
recognition of creative thinking (looking back on my more corporate days I realize how rare & precious a talent this is

so put that in your nightcap and dream it
and as we say here
fuck the begrudgers

TwilightSurfer · 20/04/2010 00:31

Still carrying HAMMER if needed can USE! As a matter of fact with my new pilates strength I could easily break bad in a circ-de-soleil type way. HHIIIIIYAAAHHH!!!

cyteen LOL!

morning all
dizz and red I can't say it any better than the others esp cyteen
they're big bags of nastiness that obviously don't deserve you to deign to talk to them

and yes i whole heartedly concur with VG to fuck the begrudgers!!! (what a great phrase!)

cyteen · 20/04/2010 08:50

Or if you're still feeling pissed off (I would be), grudge the befuckers

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/04/2010 09:08

Dizzy and Red - ((Hugs)) hope you are both feeling a little better this morning, although I would still be seething.

MIL just popped in and I had Alphablocks on for DD whilst I sorted washing and I have been accused of hothousing her by forcing her to watch letter and number programmes instead of letting her help me with chores So I kindly explained that last time DD 'helped' with the laundry we ended up with purple whites because she put DH's socks in on a 90 wash!

Waiting for John Lewis to deliver DD's playhouse. They said between 7 and 2 which is better than the 2-9 they said first! DH has gone to Southampton to collect some stranded clients out for a sightseeing tour of this part of the world. Stonghenge, Salisbury then lunch in the New Forest.

Just seen I missed TS on Skype yesterday offering to show me her roasty chicken!

GreenGardenia · 20/04/2010 09:19

God oops I couldn't cope with anyone popping in pre-9am even if without offering parenting advice!

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 09:22

Blimey, Stone Henge and Salisbury before lunch? Ambitious. But now I feel compelled to link you to the Stone Henege song - a little rock education for y'all.

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 09:23

Talking of ambitious I really should bugger off and get on with my plan to move the computer cupboard and convert the cot into a bed before toddler group. Then lunch at Ikea with DSis to buy a storage tower thingy for DS1's clothes.

Just... can't bring... self ... to turn off... laptop...

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/04/2010 09:33

Buckets - I think it will be a passing view of Salisbury as apart from the Cathederal the place it a bit of a dump! He just called to say his appointment at 4 this afternoon has been cancelled so will skip lunch in the forest as they want to go to Avebury too so it might be like a long tourist bus trip today! I am glad we decided to stay home

GG - I was still in my jammies eating dry cereal out of the box!

Miamla · 20/04/2010 09:54

I'm actually working from home today (got our scan this afternoon ) but i need an application to install before i can do next bit so here i am...hi girls! i've sent a few emails to show willing though!

oops you have made me feel very grateful that my mil is too far away to 'pop in'

DS bed is here just need a mattress and the side bar thingy from mothercare for him now.

go on buckets, go and be productive enough for all of us!

blimey, application installed already, twas quick..spose i'd better go!

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/04/2010 10:10

oooh Miamla - will be thinking of you this aftenoon, can I withdraw my puppy bid now? I have a feeling it may be a baby!

morning all, thank you for kind words - still not sure how I feel about it all and it didn't help being ambused this morning by someone who was at the meeting

well done on all that Sazz, I've only managed to fight back tears as apparently flood gates have opened and not smash something up - two worthwhile tasks IMVHO

miamla - all very exciting, can't wait to hear your news

D sleeping, DH at work, DD2 and i watching crap on tv and I'm making no apology for it as we tried to go for walk this morning but the wind made it utterly impossible. We're going to friends for lunch and sports class in afternoon so am not languishing in shite mummy mode frankly

luckoftheirish · 20/04/2010 10:59

big hugs dizzy..

salutes sazz on all her chores completed so far today ..

fingers crossed for this avo miamla..

hugs reds some people are just twats!!!

first childfree morning forever.. been watching my tv programmes whilst on my exercise bike.. so much to do so better get cracking xxx

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/04/2010 11:25

No chores done here but I have just built DD's playhouse - for a slot together plastic house it sure was hard work and complicated. Not aided by the help of a small girl who wanted in to help everytime I put a new wall up!

Now need to crack on with the chores and think of an inspirational lunch!

TwilightSurfer · 20/04/2010 11:38

So what time's the scan Miamla? I'll be away from MN most of the day so can someone post me a note thru FB. BOY BOY BOY BOY is my guess.

dizzydixies · 20/04/2010 11:46

supposed to be at friends house for lunch but D still sleeping - fortunately she has turned up and collected DD2 so I'll just nip up once D awake - yet I STILL find myself sitting watching the end of the Little Einsteins

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 11:54

Well, first time in months I manage to get to a toddler group and it's cancelled for a month due to bosslady's appendicitis. Really need to start doing more group stuff for Kurt. Have moved room & computer around anyway. Is embarrassing really that a room doesn't get tidied hoovered cleaned round here unless it's being totally rearranged.

Ooh get you Loti, exercise n'all.

Good luck Miamla.

Now, can someone just empty and load up my dishwasher while I go out for lunch please?

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 11:56

I LOVE Little Einsteins! DS1 used to call it Toonighttimes, Rocket was his first Aspie obsession.

Sazz I say take the car am too lazy busy to post on other thread!

cyteen · 20/04/2010 13:31

Ooooh Miamla good luck for this avo Please do share any bits news and help to ease my gratuitous broodiness/excitement. I'll pick a side and say 'girl', although am fairly certain it's a baby

Gardenia I keep meaning to ask, did you get your childcare situation sorted out?

loti glad to hear you've got some time to yourself at last, although am that you were exercising and not sleeping.

We have had a lovely morning in the sun I took DS to the little park round the corner and much merriment was had, only slightly spoiled by him cracking himself a good'un on the brow bone while trying to scale the play equipment He has a blackening, swollen egg over that eye now, it's rather ugly. But he seems in good spirits and of course arnica has been applied.
