beans that is so true! I remember when we got wed the vicar did his little sermon bit and said that marriage could be a stuggle that needed to worked at, it ws hard work, not easy etc...I just looked at him like he was talking Japanese Well he was bloody well right!!

rubs that sounds so tough with your DB. No advice for you but thinking of you and hope that the AD's kick in soon and he gives you a call to let you know how he is doing.

Rubena · 21/04/2010 12:13

Thanks Daisy - hoping things sort out for you as well.

Beans - I don't really, no. He has a mate who is also his Boss but is going through a divorce and is actually more screwed up than him. I don't really know a lot of his other friends or have their contact details. Gosh you'd think at 38 he'd be able to manage things, but he's has just fallen apart since his wife went nuts and left.

daisydora · 21/04/2010 12:15

rubs I agree with you on thr FB thing. When I first joined I had all these old school friends and I am not bothered about them tbh so why have them as a friend?? My sister regularly has a 'FB Cull' as she calls it. I do hide people I am not interested in.

Kayz still appears to be keeping well, and busy by the sound of it! She is on holiday this week with the boys somewhere. I hope she has a great time.

Beans33 · 21/04/2010 12:31

Do you think his DP would be able to tell you of someone that could keep an eye on him? She'll know more of his friends, I'm sure. Must be so horrible for you. Big hug.

I agree re the FB thing. I get loads of updates from people I'm not really interested in! But then sometimes, it reminds me how nice they are and I send them a quick message! So I don't really do culls! I probably should. But only go on it about once a week or so anyway!

Rubes I don't blame you, I get fed up with hearing the minutae detail of most people's lives, but then there are others that I really enjoy reading so never botherto cull, just hide the ones that irritate me.
Day 3 of operation non-smoke is going ok. I am keeping myself really busy doing really bring tasks like sorting through the linen cupboard and dvd's! However, I am not actually getting much work done as I usually reward myslef for an hours work with a cigarette, so I am finidng it really hard to concentrate. Also, I am extremely tired but can't sleep properly. Last night I had masses of nightmares and kept waking up shouting, porr DH didn'tgetmuch sleep either as a result.
Beans, house looks lovely.
Am loving the STP clips, had forgotten how funny it was.
Off to find myself someother boring task to keep myself busy.

Rubena · 21/04/2010 12:53

yeah - only thing is, I get mixed up on here with what your real names are so I may have deleted people who I didn't know are regular posters ie: Daisy, I'm confused as to your RL name and if I still have you on. I know your location so perhaps I'll check on that and see if who I think is you, is you iyswim. Katie I know who she is well done on day 3 by the way
But there's a few others who I don't know who's who - oh I know Beans too and Kiwi and Veggie and Lady of Course.

beans - his dp is now a 5 hr flight away but I think she will be intouch with him still (although she did mention at one point about cutting contact for this 2 week break) but I will have a think about who I could ask - yes

Rubena · 21/04/2010 12:58

Ah ok I've just had a scroll through my FB friends and Daisy - I know who you are now! And I've still got you there! You are from my dad's stomping ground
And Aubi, JJ, Effie, Summer, Jam, Bisou, Pingu, Turnip, Zoe, Spot are all there still and Urbane we are worried!!

daisydora · 21/04/2010 13:04

Oh yeah Rubs, forgot that your dad lived round the corner from me

Katie well done, you are doing so well. When DH packed in he had to change his whole routine as much of it revolved around having a cig! My Auntie also swears by the nicotine gum, but I know some find it pretty revolting.

Beans33 · 21/04/2010 13:51

kiwi - did you ever manage to watch the rest of Watchmen? I didn't! Sent it back unwatched...

I'm rubbish at knowing who everyone is on FB from here - but am trying!

Katie - well done on the non-smoking. I think the first month is the hardest. But think how much good you're doing your body. I haven't ever smoked really, so can't give any advice. But hang in there.

Rubes - I just thought someone had called you Pubes on here. got the giggles! x

OP posts:
Rubena · 21/04/2010 13:59

@ Pubes!

Aubergines · 21/04/2010 14:10

How odd is this?? Am on the tube catching up with you lot and Reading your Apprentice chat and who is sat opposite??????? Nick! Am sure it's him! Shall I ask for an autograph?!

daisydora · 21/04/2010 14:15

ask him Aubi - I dare you!!!!

Beans33 · 21/04/2010 14:15

DO IT DO IT DO IT!
Then sell it on Ebay!

OP posts:
daisydora · 21/04/2010 14:17

Rubs will be able to get a good price on ebay for it she is an addict expert

waitinggirl · 21/04/2010 14:21

aubs - he is a notorious lech - show him a bit of cleavage and he'll do anything, i'm sure!

hello all - been off for a while - am SLOWLY getting better after the mother of all colds/infections etc. have stopped breastfeeding as well, which is weird, but ultimately good, as it had to happen eventually. it kind of happened of its own accord, so i never had that moment thinking "this is the last bf". btw - sybs - what happened with you and M? did he ever come back for more?

LOVING the STP sketches. v v v funny.

rubes - hope your brother gets better. sorry it is such a tricky situation.

beans - LOVE the pubes ref!

daisy - i also sloped off to see if rubes deleted me, but i think i'm still there... just. hope things perk up for you, too. change is hard, and desperately unsettling, but you do need time for yourself, and it might help things get back on an even keel.

off to see in laws this weekend. hoping to come back with some corkers!

Beans33 · 21/04/2010 14:50

Oh my gosh! How much caffeine are you meant to have in a day when up the duff? I've had 2 small lattes and a diet coke. Feeling a bit jittery. No good at caffeine at best of times. Bugger. Means I'll probably have comedown during the play tonight.

Has anyone seen Legally Blond?

Aubergines · 21/04/2010 16:20

OK. Have spent the last our wondering whether to admit this. Am utterly embarrassed but here it goes....

Having spotted the famed Nick and posted about it I decided to approach him and ask for an autograph dedicated to the Dec 08 ladies. My plan was to photograph it and put it on my profile for you all. Anyhows I found a pen and paper and approached him and as I got near he said "oh hello Aubergines" . Cue a moment of total confusion as I tried to work out how on earth Apprentice Nick new my name. It was only when he then asked about the girls that I clocked that it was not Nick at all but was in fact DH's uncle .

He does bare a passing resemblance to Nick but it's hardly overwhelming. His career is quite different as he is an area manager for Greggs the bakers. Nevertheless my brain for some reason transmorfed him into a national television sensation. Oops. Sometimes I think I may actually be going senile.

Beans33 · 21/04/2010 16:25

HAHAHAHA! That is class! I love it! Totally brilliant! I have done the reverse and greeted Harry Hill as I thought he was a mate of mine, then it dawned on me that I recognised him off the telly, not as someone I knew.

Brilliant Aubes - in my eyes, that is far better than a spot of the actual Nick off The Apprentice. Genius! Can you get his autograph anyway and a picture of the two of you together to post on your page??!

SummerLightning · 21/04/2010 16:37

I am lurking but busy, but i just have to say that is HILARIOUS aubs. You wally! Very glad you didn't go up to him and make it clear you thought he was Nick out of the apprentice before he recognized you.

EffiePerine · 21/04/2010 17:04

Hahahahaha! Maybe he is leading a double life? Greggs by day, slebbing at night?

daisydora · 21/04/2010 17:06

Aubs that is the funniest thing I've heard for so long! Hilarious.

waitinggirl · 21/04/2010 17:48

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha hahahhahahaahaha!

spotofcheerfulness · 21/04/2010 18:38

Aubs you have just made a shitty day much better. Thank you. Back later.

Rubena · 21/04/2010 18:45

That's priceless Aubi!!!!!!!! But bugger - I don't think I'd get you much on Ebay for your Uncle's autograph! At first I thought you were saying that he actually said "hello Aubergines" (as though Nick had actually been lurking on MN!!!!
A girl I was working with once did that kind of in reverse. She thought someone on a flight was her long lost cousin and was a bit embarrased as she couldn't remember her name then I said "but wait, she looks familiar to me and I don't know you so how could I possibly know your cousin?" Turned out to be Tracy Chapman it gets worse, I then started singing in the galley - "You've got a fast car" (or however it goes) and she got up to use the loo and said "it doesn't really go like that"!!!! I got her autograph anyway for my Dad as he's a massive fan and then hid the rest of the flight

WG, you're still on there.... but skating on very thin ice unless you get back here a little more often young lady

Yay I finally got my P&T double attachment and looked at maternity swimsuits - saw one that was a size smaller than my normal size (they didn't have my size in) and thought it looked massive so worth a try as I'd probably grow into it - well it actually fit snugly shall we say on the bottom half and the top - well these knockers were just bursting out!! It was way too R-rated for baby swimming
I shall be checking other Mothercare's for my correct size shall we say Anyone know if M&S or anyone else does any flattering stiles? I can't really order online as I have to have it before the next swimming lesson on Saturday

Rubena · 21/04/2010 18:49

wow emoticon-tastic or what...

I keep getting Jam and Jolly mixed up - which one of you or both are on FB as my friends? I thought it was Jam but I'm not sure now who Jolly is
