... sorry couldn't think of a title that didn't mention how to get orange poo out of a white vest, or how to get jiggy post partum!!!

I guess i'm the first with the monday am weigh in...well still 11 st 5lb, which is fine considering the number of biscuits i've eaten this week. Also realised I weigh myself fully clothed and post brekky so in reality i'm less than that but have to continue with how i first weighed myself...damn

Thanks for responding to the screaming thing. Lottie i think you're right with the position thing, he's always sat upright facing me to feed, tried lying him down in a cradle hold and not a peep! The poo thing seems to have cleared up, something DH mentioned seems possible, he had his 3 month jjabs on fri, then sat am and sun am had blackbits, had explosions last night(several), none of which were abnormal at all so fingers crossed all is well.

OMG to choking bub, well done on quick reaction. I rarely burp Tobin as he doesn't give it up for a BF only a FF so he only gets done on that one. He does sleep about 2ft from my head (no plans to alter that yet) and the slightest sound wakes me up so I'm sure it'll be fine.

hello! weighed myself this morning, however slight issue, I only work in kg, our scales are in kg and I think it's somehow less emotive for me (issues round food back in teens), can I still join in? Today i was 51.7kg. Pre baby i was between 49- 50kg so not far to go, it is, however, all on my belly & boobs, so pre baby hipster jeans fit fine, anything that comes a bit higher isn't do-able.

I am feeling far more 'glam' mummy today, had my hair cut and dyed at the weekend so I'm less 'sludgy grey/brown frizz' and more 'raven haired coiffured perfection' - which won't last long... Actually really liked leaving DS with DH and having some time off, and reading trashy magazines in the hairdressers was bliss - sooo long since I've read all about Jordan's latest adventures!

crumpette · 19/04/2010 16:45

Oh bugger you're doing fat club Monday

OK I will get scales, but it won't be pretty

I ate 2 pieces of peanut butter on toast (organic, natch) for breakfast

followed by 2 pieces of peanut butter on toast for lunch

I have depleted M&S of all chocolate cookies

and I may have consumed some red vino last night

Ooh I have lost a pound! I look enormous though must be stress.. maybe I have lost a whole pound of hair from my head. Has anyone else had the hair fall-out?? Mine has been falling out in clumps not sure if it's hormonal or just cos DP is an arse and I'm all stressy.. anyway, yes at least a pound of hair has clogged up my shower

No news from me, newbeginning do make a fuss at your appt, if he was asleep he could have appeared flatter than usual EEG-wise. He's clearly fitting, from what you describe imo, though hopefully not seriously, but they do need to look into it

I STILL can't get DS to take a bottle! I have been trying the new ones, breastflow- with expressed milk, and he just gets angry with me.. argh.. and then I breastfeed him, and throw the milk away.. and another day passes with no success!

lottie I am pleased to report sophie la girafe is definitely approved of, and squeaks!
You can also get chewy teething things that you can stick in the fridge like these and this but may have some dodgy plastic chemicals in. I had a brilliant one for DD but I bought it in Spain- in the shape of an ice cream and she could hold the cone and chew the 'ice cream' part. I think it's hard to get anything for teething really though until baby is able to hold it by themselves

I also have tons of baby clothes from DD that I bought in advance and were always too big for her to wear, 9 months + size.. stupidly expensivo, lots of baby monsoon stuff and cashmere cardies I was thinking maybe I should keep them in case I have another baby but they all have tags. Oooh I don't know. I could do a social experiment and dress him in girly clothes until the age of 2 ?

Oh bugger, I knew I supposed to do something today - Not eat carbs! Oh well, my lasange was very nice and so was the iced bun!

sockmonkey · 19/04/2010 20:21

My hair is falling out too!! It always does after a baby. I had just forgotten how much. I can run my hand through my hair and have loads caught in my fingers. Nothing helps.

Sleeping has gone backwards. Back to getting up at 2 and 5. sobs and she poos every time, so there's no feed burp and back to bed. I'm sure the boys were on the weekly poo by this age. Still if she is regular I don't have to deal with the poo explosions.

Couldn't do the no carbs thing. I need my bread and potatoes. I have tried to cut out snacks between meals and am drinking more water though. My problem is that I'm a grazer. I could eat bits all day.

Hope all babies are doing well. We have started to get laughs now. Very sweet.

quirkychick · 19/04/2010 21:22

My hair is falling out as well. It did last time from about 2 months after. I have really thick hair anyway so it goes a bit mad when I'm pregnant.

Fakeplastictrees I had my hair done last week and also made the transition from "grey frizz"

My weight is all over the place, I lost 1 1/2 stone after the birth, then once breastfeeding any excuse to pig out got going I put back on 1/2 stone . I have since lost 4lbs in 4 weeks. But I am always slow to start losing and then it accelerates [hopeful emoticon]. I am exercising gently and trying to eat more sensibly.

ctfn scary about your lo. It shows how right a mother's instinct is. We too are an allergic family: dp has rhinitis and now possibly wheat/gluten allergy, I had hayfever as child and have asthma, dd had cow's milk allergy and now has asthma. You're right to be very careful about it.

lottie you have inspired me to try a more structured routine with dd2. She has been more or less having to slot in with dd1 but with a lack of pre-school/normal activities in the holidays it has all gone to pot! I'm thinking 3 months old and she should be ready for a bit more structure and also to make sure she has enough sleep. I can't do GF though! I was looking at Sophie la Girafe too, I will see if it's cheaper for my parents to send it over from France.

flyingma · 19/04/2010 22:23

Mmm peanut butter... I am still mid-way through my mega tub of Skippy from CostCo that DH bought as one of his "my pregnant wife sent me out to get..." things.

Snap re the hair falling out thing. Only just noticed it this week. I miss not losing any hair at all. Nice perk of pregnancy.

I still can't get my wedding ring on comfortably (can't feel fingers after 5 mins). Anyone else finding this or it is just me? Most annoying as it came off really early on in my pregnancy as well.

sock We get the ocassional giggle here too when HRH is in the right sort of mood. Not today of course - had our injections today so 1 grizzly baby on my hands (who has since been drugged with Calpol) - [evil mummy icon].

Avoided the scales yesterday but I promise to weigh in next week.

Jacob has fell into quite a good routine although not sure if he sleeps a bit too much.

Wakes at 6 asleep 8.30-9.15 ish sleep again at 11.00 wakes for feed at about 1 then sleeps until 4 ish maybe awake for 30 mins inbetween. Then bed at 7.30 and for the past few nights only wakes at 1 for bottle.

He's started wheezing again and coughing but is still happy.
Had a few giggles but everytime it gives him hicups so feel a bit mean making him laugh.

A lovely sunny day here today might head off to toddlers if I feel brave.

Partyofseven · 20/04/2010 09:04

Hello everyone, sorry its been a while, I can't catch up on all the news so I hope that mummies and babies are well as can be (I know some are poorly, so big hugs to them).

had a lovely time in belgium, although weather was crap, all 5 children behaved really well.

Erin was weighed last week, 13.8oz so nearly a stone, omg!!!!, but she eats at 8am, noon, 4pm and 8pm, 7oz each time and then sleeps from 9pm till 8am, so iam not bragging but am definately not complaining.

I did weigh my self - 10.4 so i am more than happy as i couldnt get under 11st before being pg. so heading in the right direction.

I thought i may be joining the dec thread but my monthly friend arrived 4 days late, if im honest was little bit scared when it didnt happen but was then a little gutted when it did, so i think it shows i'm not done havin babies just yet (I must be crazy as i type this with an 12wk old on my lap)

mama2moo · 20/04/2010 09:15

My hair fell out more during pregnancy. But I remember it falling out after having dd1. Its so annoying when it grows back as it looks like baby hair for a while.

partyofseven I am very broody at the moment! Just need to convince dp that a 3rd is a great idea though! Not sure what age gap to have this time though...

Mama - I do think that a smaller age gap is easier in some ways coa your already in baby mode. I have
DS-5yr gap-DD-4yr-DD-14mths-DD-6yrs-DD, although the 14mth gap was short i dont really remember it being hard work, they just sort of fell into a routine together, eating sleeping at the same time.

So although im not purposly trying im not taking anything to prevent it so we'll see.

Not hair loss here but almost wish it would i have the thickest hair ever.

Newbeginning1 · 20/04/2010 11:24

flyingma - you made me laugh about doing a sit in. I'm known for being quite quick tempered (blush] so i wouldnt put it past me although i have mellowed since having DS. I reckon you should do the sit in with me ali! ctofn - i read your post yesterday and thank goodness you were there, it's so scary that even though our babies are getting bigger they're still so delicate.

lottie - ill have to order one of the giraffes because my god i need something for DS.

I weighed myself yesterday and i'm now 13 stone 6.5lbs so i've lost 1.5lbs and that extra half pound is very important

Right lovely ladies, its time to lower the tone im afraid. Will someone please reassure me about my breasticles. I seem to have go go gadget nipples that DS has stretched beyond belief, will they ever go back to normal? Also, my boobs are just getting bigger and bigger which i didnt think was meant to happen now that my milk supply has settled down? I've got 1 that is a handful and another 1 which is between 1.5 and 2 handfuls (yes i was measuring mysef in handfuls in the shower today . Please tell me at some point my boobs will even out and that there is a secret compartment where you put some elastic or something to stop the sagging!

crumpette · 20/04/2010 11:35

You are very brave ladies gosh

Dp is harrassing me to have another baby, I honestly don't want one now as relationship has gone from bad to worse. The thing is though, I do want another baby, I really do. I just can't see relationship lasting and I think it would be silly to have another one knowing I may end up on my own with them. And I have to go back to work if I want to qualify.. hmmmm. Another thing is where we are living, in a rented flat isn't awful but I don't feel secure, at all. We were both just about to buy a nice flat in London in 2007 when he decided to switch the mortgage to take over his mother's instead. So he has 2 mortgages, but we have nowhere to live!

Sorry ranting! Lottie the UK airspace is open for a while today, do you think your mum will still be able to get there? I hope so! Eve and Juliet sound adorable talking to each other do you think they can decipher each other's burbling? So cute!

OP posts:
sockmonkey · 20/04/2010 12:17

New sorry to say my boobs were never the same, but they did even out again eventually. Nips did go back to normal. I remember bursting into tears after i finished feeding DS1 cos they looked like droopy deflated balloons. They did get rounder again, but it took a year after finished BF maybe.
Will wait and see what happens after DD. Went from 34B pre-children to 34DD after DS2. If they continue to end up bigger after each child, I may be giving Jordan a run for her money (P.S. I did hear you can get a boob job on NHS if there is more than 2 cup sizes difference between them. It was a thought that kept me going!)

crumpette I'd say go with your head on this one and hold off having another bub. Better to be happy & secure first!

crumpette · 20/04/2010 12:18

newbeginning-- your breasticles will be fine. repeat your breasticles will be fine
Honestly- it could be that Jack is going through a growth spurt or has been, and therefore your milk supply still increases to meet his needs so you can get overfilled breasts sometimes.
Also- have you been expressing at all? The more milk you take out, the more is made.
And the unevenness (is that a word?agh) is probably due to feeding a little more from one side than the other, so the supply on that side increases and the supply on the other is slightly lower.

I promise you will not stay like it, it all goes back to normal!

Well done on the weight loss!!

Another teething thing for future reference is indeed a baby toothbrush, I found one that was very good when DD already had some teeth as it can be used to brush them but is also really nice for them to hold and chew the handle. Will try and find a link

OP posts:
crumpette · 20/04/2010 12:28

Asymmetry that's what I mean. Mine did go back to normal after I breastfed DD, so there is some hope. Looking at them now though I doubt they will survive 2 bouts of breastfeeding they have got a bit, erm, lower..

Can't find link to toothbrush, they are v short and have a very wide handle with textured (BPA free )rubber on. Are fab for when baby is older.

OP posts:
dieciazero · 20/04/2010 16:58

Sorry girls it has taken me so very long to get back online. Agatha has been really grumpy and feeding non-stop through the night which has made me really grumpy and feeling barely able to cope on three hours sleep. She has developed a double neck (the whole way round) thanks to all the feeding though...
My God you are all so fantastic dieting and doing low carbs. I did the India and Nerys for 3 months before I got pregnant. I found it really hard though because of very sweet tooth, but it worked so can't complain.
My boobs returned to normal after my first pregnancy but took forever and also I ended up with my left being considerably larger (34D) than my right(34B) as baby preferred left breast. Not a great look. And Agatha prefers left too so am doomed to be lopsided forever.
I'm an Italian teacher based in Ireland, hence the nickname by the way and I'm definitely feeling like a zero rather than a dieci. Having said that DP has still got his pregnancy belly too so it's not like we're totally mismatched at the moment.
Am ranting,have to go.
