Morning everyone. Your resident SuperWoman here . Took great pleasure in reading your posts about my activities out to DH just to let him know that I really am fabulous .
So - on the eczema front. GPs always prescribe Aqueaous Cream for the moisture and 1% hydrocortisone for the odd occasion when it is really bad, inflamed, red and causing obvious discomfort. If going to the GP is taxing, you can buy aqueaous cream over the counter, but tbh, it is always worth going to the GP anyway as then at least LO is registered as being prone to eczema/skin conditions which can be important for future medical conditions. FWIW, the consultant at the hospital was extremely interested in me and my two DCs having suffered from eczema off and on for years, plus my asthma and food allergies as it shows that we are an "allergic family" hence Olivia's reflux/cows milk intolerance would be related.
Re babies screaming when feeding, well that was me, and Lottie, and WMDO and Ali... all reflux symptoms - but then again, could always be something else too. Black bits in the poo sound like a digestive problem though so I would definitely get it checked at GP.
Re volcanic ash - I think the Icelanders misheard our requests when we asked for CASH - not bloody ash !
Re carbs - mmmm, may need to consider this as my weight not shifting anywhere near as quickly as I'd like. Although I think I'd find it really hard .
Anything else I've missed? Can't think.
So, more news from this end. Had the fright of my life last night. Olivia woke around 2.30 for a feed, dummy trick didn't work - deffo hungry. Fed her, winded (but she didn't burp), put her down again as she was zonked and for some bizarre reason, even though she had been fed, decided to sleep in the nursery on spare bed, just in case she was unsettled later. Just getting into deep sleep and heard strange sound followed by sharp intake of breath... then nothing. Felt physically sick and jumped out of bed so fast to find that she had been HUGELY sick and was choking on it. In fact, she wasn't able to breathe. Cue whipping her out of cot, turning her upside down, wallopping her back and floor being covered even more in the sick that seemed to go back down her throat. Thankfully it was followed by huge scream. I'm not sure I really slept after that (oddly enough). Note to self am totally going to make sure I regularly use the domperidone (sick medicine) to see if it makes any difference.
Olivia has only been in our lives for 16 weeks but I love her so very very much and to think of something happening to her fills me with dread and fear. I would rather throw myself under a bus. Horrible.
OK - now off to a friend's for Sunday lunch (oooh, get me, a social life)!
