My friend in Oz water's have just broken. No other labour signs. Her hubby just arrived from overseas yesterday and they are currently driving 6hrs to their birthing centre. I am SOOOOOO excited. We have been friends for mre than 20 years. This is her 4th pregnancy but first to go to term and can't wait for the safe arrival of this bubba.

also i got a faint BFP this morning. Will test again at the end of the week.Fingers crossed

be back later.

Gauchita · 20/04/2010 07:39

Hola!

Well, isn't this a morning full of news

Snow, soooooooo happy for your friend, sending all the good birthing vibes I can from here yaaaaaaay!!! I also got my period Relief! Don't get me wrong, I want to get pg again, but need to wait a few months more

Mrsmc, ohhh more sleeping vibes, then I'm sending as much as I can every night Oh, I see, it's the red-tape that's killing you. That's a pain!

Choccie, so glad to hear from you and hear that E is thriving! Hope you can come and chat with us again soon

Early morning here, thanks to M but the day is glorious so plenty to look forward to

Back later! Waves!!!

bigcar · 20/04/2010 09:46

morning all

skillbo, hope the swimming goes down well, swimming lessons sound fun Dh took our dcs on saturday, apparently E looked rather bored with the whole thing Oooh, yes, are you sharing details on your dress [totally nosey!]

gauchita, full of news indeed! It's beautiful here too, lovely blue skies with not a plane or vapour trail in sight. We live under one of the holding circles for Heathrow, we don't get that much of the noise as they are usually high up but it's still a bit strange! Congrats on getting the work finished

venetian, good to hear from you but sorry to hear it's tough with your parents ((((hugs)))) Strawberrys L is walking E isn't far off now, he's standing and letting go for a couple of seconds, he loves being on his feet, gets all bouncy and excited. I think he's desperate to be off after the older dcs.

snow, how exciting, please keep us updated on your friend. Fingers crossed she makes it to the birth centre, obviously things work on a different scale over there A tentative yay for your bfp

choccie, lovely to see you good to hear E is doing well It's so tempting when there's all this stuff for them isn't it?! E's missing all the others now they are back at school. Although yesterday afternoon, I managed to get a cup of tea in peace which was absolute bliss

MrsMcJnr, sorry to hear there's been no sleep. I don't know what to say other than she won't keep this up forever, it will get better ((((hugs)))) All this volcano stuff is so far ranging isn't it? So many people here have been affected, dd1s school is 8 teachers down, the other dcs school thankfully only 1 teacher down, they all seem to be long haul too!

the dcs are thankfully back at school now, this holiday has been hard work, dd2 and ds1 just wanted to take chunks out of each other every time I turned my back argh! So nice being able to chuck them all out in the garden as the weather has been so good, park trips too but obviously not enough to completely knacker them out

waves to all

June2009 · 20/04/2010 10:27

heya
gauchita i tred posting from my phone but the "post message" button is invisible on it ??? I was just asking if yur periods are already regular? one day is not really "late" for me. I stopped my pill since I got that norovirus and waited for my first proper period to start it again, only to have my period and forget to get the pill from the gp. glad to hear AF has turned up for you.

snow omg, congrats!!! you must be very excited!
The subject of baby number 2 is coming up more and more in the conversation and I'm slowly getting in the right frame of mind to loose more weight so we can ttc.

lovely days and long walk in the park, I try and get out everyday and cut down on bad things.

Is Philadelphia ok for baby as a topping on bread or breakfast?

cold is still here for both of us but not to bad.

choccie hey! welcome back :D good to hear from you and Elina's good progress!

Venetian sorry to hear it's a bit of a weird holiday, it's good you had a nice break befre. I feel like that a little bit about my dad, you just want them to be happy. I think my dad makes it harder fr himself by being moody and angry/resentful a lot of the time. the scary thing is that I see a lot of myself in him .

time to go, sorry for the erratic post (feels like it anyway) speak to you soon!

chocciedooby · 20/04/2010 19:26

Hello again

Thanks for the welcome back ladies.

mrsmc - I really feel for you. I am so sorry that you are not getting much sleep. I don't know how you do it girl! I would be a demon with that much sleep deprivation and it's been going on for so long as well. How are you coping? Which child is keeping you up? Is it middle of the night teething stuff or the need or feeds? Sorry I haven't had time to trawl my way through months of posts to get details.

snowwombat Wow a BFP! I am so pleased for you...it amazes me when I read on here that people are going for it again. It only seems like yesterday that I had my little Elina but then I remember that I fell pgt wit DS2 when DS1 was 7 mths old. They are now 5 and 6 yrs old and its brilliant! Self made Best pals Good luck with everything.
Hope that your pal made it to birthing centre. That 6 hrs must have felt like eternity.

Hola Gauchita . How are you today?

Bigcar - those hot cup of teas are so special!!!!!!AAARRRRHHHHH.....

oppps. Elina just wopke up.. Back soon.xx

chocciedooby · 20/04/2010 19:42

Hi June Sorry you burnt your toast .

Hope things are going well for you.

Whose baby is walking already????!!!!

Gauchita · 20/04/2010 20:26

Hola!

Choccie, aw so glad to see you! MN is like that, once you start/come back, there's no leaving Not a bad day here, lots of sunshine Period cramps are quite bad but that's usual for me, unfortunately M's standing up since March and last week started going from the sofa to the coffee table again and again She's quite cautious, though (I've noticed because I can't help but stare at her when she does new things ) and she makes funny faces when she thinks she's about to fall, and tries to crouch so as not to fall hard

June, this is only my third one but you're right, maybe I started fretting because the first two came exactly on the same day of the month and this one was 3 days late What didn't help was the fact DH and I thought we had had an accident a few weeks ago (sorry for the TMI) so I was paranoid, I admit. Glad to hear baby number two is now in the June household conversations I'd love to feel broody now but I guess things that have happened lately with work have made my head think too much about everything That's never too good for me Glad to hear even though the colds have not gone yet they're being manageable Hope works not too bad so that you can get some rest and get all better soon

Snow, so? Any news?? 6hs is a long way to drive, woman! Hope she made it on time

Bigcar, awww poor E all alone in the house during the day I imagine him looking around as if saying "so, where are they?" But peace for you, lady

Hi to all Juners!

This volcano issue is getting bad, isn't it? I saw a thread the other day (and then regretted it) about all this having to do with the 2012 thing... Anyway, we have a date for our trip to Buenos Aires (1st May) but might not be going after all. It's complicated because you might leave, if the airports open again and bla, but then a new eruption might happen, a new cloud might come and then you can't come back. Apparently this could go on for months so...

Have you realised June babies' first birthdays are coming? And SOON! I can't believe they'll be one already!

Hope you have a nice evening, ladies!

Waves!

Gauchita · 20/04/2010 20:27

Argh!
June, ignore the "the" before TMI

verybusyspider · 20/04/2010 20:55

hello all (it insywinsyspider btw!) not posted since ds3 was born but hope to catch up with you all now!

firstly congrats snowwobat! (your faint BFP made me feel jealous! dh and I are discussing dc4, I have 18 months between each ds and it would be a bigger gap this time and feel like its a now or never decision!)

so do I have the only child that isn't properly crawling? he has just started moving around ie I leave him in one place and come back to find him in another. We have some baby signing happening which makes life a little easier - to be honest he thrives on neglect and hates being left in a room on his own but only because its quiet, I found this week that if I leave the radio on all is ok! oh and he is recovering from chicken pox - very horrible hard week last week with all 3 and dh away with work, other 2 haven't had it yet so know how we'll be spending bank holiday weekend!

any advice on getting rid of the dummy? sleep got worse at easter when we tried and then he was ill so it came back...

oh and on baby front - anyone have coil fitted? either now or before? - nothing like diving in with the tmi stuff when I've only just posted after a long absence since I've had it fitted 6 wks ago, no period don't know anyone irl who has one (not the kind of topic that comes up much in conversation!)

Hope to catch up with all your news soon - anyone name changed since last June?
gauchita are you naat?

Gauchita · 20/04/2010 21:12

Insy!!!! Well, verybusyspider, actually Welcome back!!!

Yes, I'm Naat. Venetianred is Daisy, whenskiesaregrey is worriedamy (although I don't know if you had got to meet her) aaaand I'm out, can't remember any other now

Glad to hear things are well. Hats off to you woman for dealing with 3 LOs, one of them with chicken pox and all on our own! HOpe you manage a tiny bit of rest now

No coil experience here, but some other Juners might come with good advice

chocciedooby · 20/04/2010 21:25

Hiya verybusyspider.

I only got back onto MN yesterday myself. I don't know where time goes but at least its not boring.

RE: Coil....which one did you have fitted? Was it the Mirena or non-hormonal one? I was considering one and then kinda forgot about it and dh and I have been trying to be VERY careful using the horrible condomns (tmi). Anyway, I would be interested to know and maybe I can start to seriously consider it again. Unlike others, I really feel that my baby making days are behind me with 3 under my belt and nearing 40 all the time. If I fell pgt again I don't know how I would feel.

RE: Crawling. Elina is pretty slow and only started about 10 days ago. It's as if once she'd conquered it she can't get enough of it.There is so much to explore on our lounge carpet . She ventured into our family room/kitchen this afternoon which is going to be a whole different kettle of fish as our floor in there is solid marble. Not great on the little pearly whites....

Wow Gauchita, can't beleive your lo is walking already. That is some achievement.

Sorry for being a bit not with it but what is the "2012" thing?

Gauchita · 20/04/2010 21:46

Choccie, I think I explained it wrong What I meant is that she stands between the sofa and the coffee table and with one hand on each she switches from one to the other

verybusyspider · 20/04/2010 21:52

hi choccie!
I had the non hormonal one, I think I was pretty naive about it and very supprised when I got handed a maternity towel after fitting! anyway was rubbish to start with, I got a UTI and uterus infection - just unlucky but did mean dh had to have day off work and I had some pretty strong AB's which made me feel sick. Took about 3-4 weeks for bleeding and cramps to stop but since then its been really good, I'm now just wondering where my periods have gone... but then I didn't have any before I had ds1 so maybe I won't have another one for a while, I got coil though so it wouldn't mess up my cycle if we ttc again.

hey naat! wow missed dd was walking! thanks for name change up date

MrsMcJnr · 20/04/2010 23:16

Oooohhhhhhhhhhhh Snow exciting!!!!!!!

Gauchita ? glad you got the outcome you wanted just now. 2012 thing is scary.

Bigcar ? my Grandparents are in Windsor and say it is eerily quiet without the planes above them!

June ? I?ve given Aaliyah Philadelphia ? think it is ok as long as it?s full fat.

Still no period since Aaliyah?s birth here??.

Choccie ? it?s Aaliyah who keeps me awake; she generally doesn?t sleep between 12 and 5am!! Exhausting.

Lovely to have you back Insy

bigcar · 21/04/2010 13:47

afternoon all

june, how's the nursery going, has C settled back in again? I'm convinced pill packets should come with an alarm or flashing lights, would make life so much easier

choccie, we have a tiled floor in the kitchen, it's not kind on little knees either, E always stops at the door (only momentarily) I think it's the cold tiles compared to the warm carpet! He's not figured it out yet. Our bin is just inside the kitchen door to so I really have to watch him.

gauchita, yes, E will be 11 months old in 7 days, where has all that time gone? This time last year our thread was sooooo different No, surely the 2012 thing is linked to the UK holding the olympics that year Is that what the film was about, didn't see that one but remember it being something along those lines? I hope your flights aren't too disrupted, I suppose at least if you do get stuck out there you have family and friends to help out.

verybusy, there have been loads of threads on general health about the coil, may well be worth having a search. Poor thing having chicken pox, hope he feels better now. I didn't manage to get rid of dd2s and ds1s dummies until they were much older, about 2 I think But they just had them at night or for a sleep during the day and they had to "live" in the cot, sorry, that's not much help is it Does he mind what is on the radio, any particular taste showing yet?

MrsMcJnr, my period made a return about 3 weeks ago, I was quite surprised really as E dropped his feeds down quite a lot a few months back. He only really has 2 proper feeds morning and evening now with a small snack for elevensies if he's in the mood. E has had phily too, although it was a bit dd3 had dropped The planes fly quite low over windsor so must have been lovely without them! Reminds me of that (supposed) quote from an american tourist, why would they build such a lovely castle under the flight path?!

well, the planes are back overhead, I can't believe how much disruption it has all caused. One of the local senior schools is missing 16 teachers and has had to tell certain year groups to stay home for a couple of days, work has been set but there's noone to supervise so it's all homework now.

snowwombat · 21/04/2010 21:50

hello choccie and verybusy, lovely to see you back and hear your news
bigcar what is it about kitchen bins that is so exciting. A is pulling ours over with his need to pull to stand all the time. Shame your peace from aircraft noise gone.My cousin has been trying to get the uk from oz since it started
mrsmc Will MIL arrive soon? Any A improvements? Guessing by now you have tried everything to get her to sleep??Is it worth trying two weeks of no dairy or soy?
gauchita i think you mean M is 'cruising'- walking herself holding onto furniture. Wow!
june how is nursery this week?any better? I am really really fat at the moment and still got pregnant! 20kg heavier than for the other two pregnancies. Great you feel that you could even consider it, given how hard things were for you.
skillbo hope the rest of your weekend was lovely.
hi to everyone

Well, no news from my friend yet, hoping for some overnight. Although her waters had broken, she didn't have any contractions, hence the drive!

Gauchita · 22/04/2010 10:52

¡Hola!

Snow, thanks for that M's cruising then, yes! Oh hope you have news from your friend soon!

Bigcar, at the Olympics. I didn't see the movie so I can't say for sure, but I think it had some natural disasters in it Hope the planes are not too noisy now that they're back. The whole thing caused a lot of disruption in many ways, didn't it? I think E is the first June baby, isn't he? (well, end of may, if I remember correctly )

Mrsmc, hope you get news from the nursery soon, and that they are good!

Hi to all Juners!

A nice sunny day here DH is busy with work but I think we're going buggy fitting later so that'll be nice.

I had a "bumpy" driving lesson yesterday. I'm getting frustrated with myself as I make very basic mistakes sometimes. I need to practise more. I want to be ready for the test by the end of June (both because I want to drive soon and because I can't afford to pay lessons until 2015 ) so I have to get it together and improve!

Hope you have a lovely day, Juners!

Waves!

June2009 · 22/04/2010 12:28

gauchita heya, when I learnt to drive the instructor told me that at first you learn very quick, then you reach a (frustrating) plateau and then you get better quickly again, so you're doing fine ;)

insy really good to hear from you too! I don't know about coils sorry. I remembered that you did not have any periods before and told my friend who stopped her pill because her GP told her she could definitely not get pregnant because she did not have her periods yet (!).

Mine's not crawling either BUT we have two teeth growing (at the bottom) AT LAST!!!

Thanks snow for reassuring me about the snot question, it didn't happen again.
Did you test again, have you got any symptoms yet? (does that make it december or january then? oh the joy of counting in weeks again ;))
I've decided to walk a lot more (with the pram), including to the supermarket which is half an hour walk from home, hopefully this will help me shift some weight, watching what I eat but could do better on that front.

Talking about prams, what has everyone got now? We've got a massive greco pram that is awkward and heavy but has a big basket. But I can only take it to walk to the park basically, it barely fits in the boot and nothing else fits once it's in so no good for shopping/travelling etc.
We've also got a quiny zap which we consequently bought as it folds tiny but doesn't have a basket, I'm considering selling them both and getting some kind of mclaren.

And after having said that C sleeps on her side, she now sleeps on her front! I keep waking up to check that she is breathing ok.

it'll be time tog et C from nursery soon and I am walking there so better get ready now!

take care

just noticed that I missed loads of posts, I usually try and catch up from my phone and it's not displaying properly.
bigcar you just reminded me that i need to see the gp to get the pill!!

nursery is getting better, we'll see today if C ate anything...

I'll try and catch up properly soon!

OP posts:
bigcar · 22/04/2010 14:04

afternoon all

snow, I'm thinking that they should make toy bins along with the rest of the toy kitchen stuff they sell, would be a winner here! That said I think sometimes it's the love of the forbidden with E He's climbing on and over everything at the moment, caught him eating soil again yesterday from the pot plant, thought I'd barricaded it pretty well, guess not

Gauchita, I think you're right there, not sure it's hard to remember now! He's not strictly a juner but this is such a nice group, didn't want to defect to the may thread The waiting list for driving tests here is 3/4 months so have a look online for where you are in case it's the same, dh got all geared up for his and then found he had to wait ages, not a happy bunny! It'll all come together suddenly, don't worry

june, oooh teeth, lovely! Really hope C has had a good day at nursery. We have an umbrella fold buggy to sling in the back of the car which is a lot easier. Maclaren buggys imho are a little over priced, there are many other makes around that are just as good. But then millions have them so I'm probably wrong Alternatively, get this, much cheaper

waves to all

Gauchita · 22/04/2010 17:22

Hi all!

Bigcar, oh no, we wouldn't have let you go, once a Juner, always a Juner Over here the waiting list is about a month, but yesterday my instructor told me he doesn't think I can take it end of June I'll prove him wrong I'll practise my butt off! M hasn't discovered the bin yet, although is a crap eater she just doesn't filter! She puts anything and everything in sight! Yesterday she put some old piece of soil she found in the pram's raincover Cue her gagging and sticking her black tongue out I was not impressed...

June, I forgot to mention this before, M has Philadelphia cheese and likes it a lot. I tried cottage cheese the other day with her veggies as well and she liked it. I think as long as it's pasteurised, full-fat and not tooooo salty they can try them We sold our Pliko pram on ebay because we wanted one that would fold with the pushchair seat on it ONLY to realise that it actually folded with the seat on when we were gathering all the things to post it Numpties!!! Oh well, we got a bébé confort streety that we like a lot so it's ok Hope C had a nice day at the nursery And hope you're right and I'm off this plateau soon

Ladies, the thermometer inside the flat marks 31 degrees Celsius right now We have the sun all day hitting our flat, when it shines of course, so it's warm in here I'm chuffed, this is the temp I like M's only in her nappy playing in her playpen, now that's a first!

Gauchita · 22/04/2010 17:23

although she is a... Sorry about that!

chocciedooby · 22/04/2010 21:43

Hey Gauchita.Good Luck with the driving lessons. Like everyone else has said, it does all click into place a some point and soon you will be driving like a dream

June - I am still using my Jane. We changed it from the matrix cup (car seat the clips onto chassis) last week and now use it as a buggy.I love it. It is however quite heavy and bulky so I may be getting my McClaren down. They are pricey and there are many alternatives so definately check others out first. I do however love my McClaren. It has served us well with our 2 other kids and still looks brand new. It also lays nearly flat

MrsMcJnr · 22/04/2010 22:07

Hey ladies, sorry I have been awol, not getting much peace from the little miss, she is up now in fact, we can't get her down for more than 20 mins at a time - grrrrrrrrrr! when is this child going to start sleeping??

snowwombat · 23/04/2010 08:38

Morning girls,
my friend has had a little girl. Don't know many details yet, but clearly they made it to the birthing centre!
I am off to the GP to get my referral to the consultant for an early scan. Still faint results on the test but two lines there all the same. Will wait and see what happens.
What beautiful sunshine again!Hope it stays like this for the weekend
