Hi everyone.

princess sorry to hear about your DD. I hope she gets better soon - it sounds awful

I love a good curry (having one tonight for dinner ). Mmmm.

ruby glad you had a lovely lunch. I've only been out once "solo" and it was great. I'm owed another outing by my hubby so must do it soon! I would attempt to drop that feed - we've been trying it with William and occasionally he has slept through from midnight and fed at 4am instead!

HT my non dairy diet is slipping a bit and I'm noticing more wind in William so better get back on the wagon. I blame chocolate biscuits. I keep forgetting they're not allowed...

baby names DH and I wrote a list of 5 names each and William was the only one that matched. So we stuck with it! Although we don't call him that, we call him by his bump nickname which we christened when I was pregnant. Worried he's going to be confused with two names!

Hope everyone else is keeping well. W has been so unsettled - I've only just got him down and I can hear him crying already better go

princessmel · 01/03/2010 21:00

Thanks guys , I hope she picks up soon.

ds2's nickname is cakey(pronounced cake-ey)!!! It comes from me calling him babycakes and has turned into cakey! I say things like 'ds , please pass me a nappy for cakey' !!!lol

devilsadvocaat · 01/03/2010 21:20

charlie's nickname is goo.
that is what he says all the

pm - hope dd is better soon x

devilsadvocaat · 01/03/2010 21:21

ahem

that is what he says all the time

Scout19075 · 01/03/2010 21:45

DH couldn't think of any names whenever I asked him, so we agreed that I'd make a list and that he could veto any he didn't like. Sebastian was the only name he added to either list. We didn't choose a name, though, until Seb was about a day or two old we kept looking at him, trying the different names, etc. He looked like a Sebastian. His middle name is after my dad. And I still often call him Baby T that's what I called my bump since we didn't know if he was a he or a she (my surname starts with a T).

Be back in a bit with some personals.

fidelma · 01/03/2010 22:47

Hectic day in the Fidelma household. We are having a party on Sunday for about 35 so I am on a big clear up,tidy up wash carpets etc (with the help of one fab housekeeper)

DD2 at the dentist also with calcium deposits in her teeth.DS1 needed a filling

DD1 has had a big project which we thought needed to be in for Wed but she informed me that it was to be in for tomorrow she also has to give a talk for 5 mins.

I wanted them all outside as it was soooooo lovely. It feels like the Alps.We are surrounded by hills covered with snow with forests below them. All the snow has gone from the house. We went for a walk in the field to feed the hens and collect eggs and see the new trees that we have had planted. All quite exciting.Connor Bear enjoyed himself (ds1 was a bitalot wingey before you think it all sounds too idilic and remember we still had the dam project to do and everyones wellies were covered in mud AGAIN!!!)

Ruby Lunch sounds soooo good.I enjoyed my root canal as I got a break from everyone {

PrincessI hope DD is a bit better tomorrow.Mine had scarlet fever when DS1 was a baby and it was not nice.DD2 hardly moved nor ate for a week. Not nice.Good news about the teeth.I feel like we are never away from the dentist at the moment.

I am also too much of a wimp to drop any night time feeds sucks back to sleep as it seems easier than trying to settle him. However he is becomming such a great little eatter that maybe a will sort iy out

I kind of let DH choose the name he is Irish and I did not mind Connor so as I felt that I had pushed him to 4 I gave in on the nameI often call him pickle as in "you little pickle I could eat you all up yum yum"

OK officially sounding mad I am off too bed.Night night x

HumphreysCorner · 02/03/2010 13:52

PM-your DD sounds very poorly. Hope she doesn't catch Scarlett Fever as it isn't nice at all.

fidelma-I feel that you are wonder woman in a nice way of course. I worry about everything especially entertaining. It is you with the guest houses in Scotland isn't it? Can you do a link to the website as mum and dad keen.

Went to see the batty Vicar last night and still don't have a date for the Christening as his rota hasn't been done beyond April so he is going to ring me. Don't hold out much hope as he forgot that he was doing DD2's Christening and wondered why his congregation had increased from 2 to 20.

My car has failed its MOT so cannot make M's jabs this afternoon as it won't be fixed in time. Rescheduled for the 23rd when he will be nearly 25 weeks.

HappyTangerine · 02/03/2010 15:04

Princessmel-your poor dd, wishing her a speedy recovery. You must be exhausted.

HC - lol at batty vicar. What are you doing about godparents? I want to get Joseph baptised asap but there is the godparents minefield to wade through- dh doesn't want my sister and nor do I want his but there will be hell to pay of we don't so am kind of waiting for relatiosn to improve. Most of my family in Wales won't be able to make it so I was aiming to get a sort of blessing done in my local Catholic church (have been a parishoner there since I was a wee thing). Found out t the weekend that the chuch is closing on Easter Sunday . Really upset-I saw my parents (Catholic) blessing there and was baptised, confirmed etc. Churches closing all over the place.

HumphreysCorner · 02/03/2010 15:22

HT-we have DH's sister and her DH as 2 of the Godparents for all 3 DC. My Bro will be 2nd Godfather for Matthew and his DW is 2nd Godmother for the 2 girls. We see DH's sister and BIL alot more than I see my bro and SIL so feel our choice of Godparents is right for us. Such a shame about your Churches. My Vicar is so bumbling he makes me laugh. Mum and I were stifling the giggles in the Vestry last night. DD1's school is a CofE school so the Vicar is often there and we go to lots of services at the church with the school and me and the other mums sit and laugh at his strange sermons.

wow! your dh is amazing!
cool x

fidelma · 03/03/2010 14:47

Thanks Devil shame he hasn't done one night shift since Connor was born !!!!

He does do other things though LOL !

rubyslippers · 03/03/2010 15:56

wow! fabulous looking houses ...

My DH hasn't done a night shift either

he does however get up with DS every morning, takes him to nursery when he can and generally takes the pressure of that way

I have bought some stuff ready for weaning - some rice cakes and bits and bobs

i have still got another 4 weeks or so

hope everyone is doing ok - we had a night out last night which was lovely. Rubes took a bottle from her grandma - the only person she will take it from and went to bed without a peep (she does for me but i am the only one who has ever put her to bed)

i am such a saddo but i hung my washing out this morning - i love doing it it is one of the few household tasks that i actually enjoy doing

getting into bed, into line dried sheets is divine IMO!

x

HumphreysCorner · 03/03/2010 16:40

Hi all

Took Matthew to be weighed and he has gained.....................absolutely nothing in 2 weeks. Still have to wait another week before I wean him. Different HV though and she was lovely.

ruby-I was happy to have hung my sheets out yesterday which was the first time in ages due to the weather.

fidelma-they are lovely houses. Are you in charge of bookings and looking after them all if they are not all yours.

My DH has never got up in the night for any of my 3 children. He goes to work at 8am so escapes the school runs too.

Better get DD1's packing up done ready for tomorrow and some tea ready.

Love to all!

wibblydibs · 03/03/2010 16:59

Hi everyone.

My DH hasn't done a night shift either . I was up with Louis at 2.30am watching antiques roadshow on sky+, couldn't cope with anything more challenging! I wouldn't mind if he was either up a few times in the night or up really early, but he's both at the mo - yesterday started at 4.15am. It makes me grumpy...I love them dearly, but I'm just about sick of the sight of all 3 of my little darlings today

Was DD2's 3rd birthday over the weekend - so with all the baking, party games and glass or two of wine I'm worn out - think she enjoyed herself though.

Fidelma your houses look fab, we have friends in St Andrews and we drive through Dollar etc to get to them - lovely part of the world.

Princessmel hope your DD is feeling better, poor chick.

Rubyslippers I like hanging washing out too, am relying on my tumble dryer at the mo though as am doing 3 loads a day

I picked all the DC's names and then DH gave them the nod - we didn't know what we were having but I only had girls names for the DD's and a boys name for Louis...so maybe subconsciously I did know

Louis is being christened in May - DH has asked one his old friends to be GF, and we've since found out that he is in Ibiza on the day and he isn't baptised himself so can't actually be GF...am a bit cross that DH didn't think to check as now whoever we ask will know they were second choice We've got a mixture of siblings and good friends to be god parents with the DD's.

Hope everyone's well and getting more sleep than me I don't post often but I do try and keep up with what everyone's up to.

Right, am off to try and muster the energy to make something vaguely nutritious for supper.

Oh, and hats off to those abstaining from choc - I actually think I might be addicted to creme eggs at the moment.

wibblydibs · 03/03/2010 17:03

X post HC I'm sure Matthew's weight will pick up when he starts on solids. Glad you had a nice HV though, that always helps.

My DH leaves at 7am and is rarely back before 7pm - so he pretty much escapes everything as well. It's flipping hard work! He's a teacher though, so at least he's around in the holidays.

CalypsoFramboise · 03/03/2010 18:15

Gah, am pooped! Annalise is having a feeding frenzy for the past 5 days that I hesitate to call a growth spurt as she appears to have hollow legs. Having to consume my own body weight in cake to make enough milk . Most feeds lasting over 2 hours (1 hour every other hour during the night) and she gets horribly cranky if the telly is on and she can't watch it and feed at the same time, which is clearly impossible so sitting staring at the wall it is...
Weighing tomorrow so fingers crossed she hasn't just grown lengthwise but has actually put something on in fat.

Empathy and hugs to HC and Bella who are have low weight-gain moments, weaning isn't far off (although I'm dreading the change is vomit content [shock) x

Finally booked a week on holiday in Corsica, staying here and looking forward to it Have to spend 3 weeks on a Greek island for my last fieldwork study for my old (unfinished) PhD, I hope Annalise can come for a week at least, and then one week in Spain to see DH's family so thats a lot of trips to the Med for 1 year. Fidelma's lovely holiday homes will have to be another time, but look gorgeous as ever

princessmel hope that your daughter is feeling much better today

Hope you're all doing ok, Annalise is napping and this is the first 20mins I've had all day to have a cuppa and relax! must dash to hang the nappies out
x

HumphreysCorner · 03/03/2010 19:34

Corsica is lovely.

DD2 was sick on her tea so hope it was a one off.

dh hasn't done a night shift with charlie but, to be fair, he doesn't have boobies so would be at a big disadvantage

am going to a new exercise class tonight called 'dancersize'. hope i don't make a complete fool of myself!

cf - what is your fieldwork study on then? looks wonderful

we're going to france again this summer with the ils. should be good.

ruby - i have sheets waiting to be line dried

charlie has slept 7-4-7 the last three nights.
(am fully expecting a sleep regression now i've typed that).

well, wish me luck, hope i don't stack it mid dance(ersize)...

Igglybuff · 03/03/2010 20:01

Good luck devils!

My DH does a lot at night - trying to resettle if we dont think W needs a feed, winding etc etc. He does the now til midnight shift and I cover the rest. It really helps.

weaning - I've bought some porridge and got a few books from the library. We also have a high chair! W loves sitting in it and watching me eat my lunch.

ruby I love line dried laundry. It just smells so much nicer

weight - W had lost weight at the last weigh in so fingers crossed he;s gained this time otherwise I'll worry!

fidelma I love the look of your cottages. Reminds me we need to book our holiday! We're planning on going to the lakes in Summer We go every year!

fidelma · 03/03/2010 20:48

Exhausted tonight,

Ruby It is the only job I like also lol

WibblyLet me know if you are passing through.I make a good cake loo break
