Dry shampoo well used here too - I don't feel so grim now I know you (who is ultra glam) uses it too yay!

Have you had a proper period since pg poss thing? Or have all been brown/dischargy? Could you be pg and it be a hormonal bleed?

Gumps · 13/02/2010 22:11

Had the mother of all periods when it finally came although it was quite brown at the start too.
I am preening at being called glam.. while sat here in my food/sick/wee covered tracksuit that I am too tired to even take off before I go to bed

moosemama · 13/02/2010 22:12

Aaargh! Gumps. He didn't get chance to go to the shop before it shut. Will have to wait for my Tesco order at 10-12 tomorrow morning for my fix now.

Does dry shampoo work on long hair?

Gumps · 13/02/2010 22:16

Oh sorry moose! That was a teasing picture. Not even a bit of hot chocolate powder in the house? I have been known to eat cake decoratiosn when desperate for a sugar hit
Should def work on long hair. Mine is just over shoulder length but I tend to just spray it on the roots and wack the rest in a pony. It makes your roots look lighter too if you are a blondie like me desperately in need of having the old highlights redone. Yay for headmasters half price colour sale starting next week! You just spray it on, wait a bit and then brush it. It is the stuff of miracles!

moosemama · 13/02/2010 22:23

Its ok Gumps, I licked the screen, but it didn't taste very nice.

We have a drawer full of flipping gluten free cakes and biscuits (which frankly taste like gritty cardboard) and none of those are chocolate as one of ds1's worst sensory issues is a severe hatred for the smell of chocolate!

We do have some Green and Black's choc and hazlenut spread, but I've eaten it on toast every day this week for breakfast (at about 11.30 am ) and even had it for breakfast this morning. Am tempted now though. Mmmm hot toast with melty G&B on top.

Lenni · 13/02/2010 22:28

Did you lick Jonny or the chocolate?? Either would probably taste reasonably good Right, best go to bed before I embarrass myself. I have long hair, dry shampoo works.

You are glam Gumps!! It is certain. Preen at will.

Gumps · 13/02/2010 22:30

Oooooooohh off to bed to dream of licking Johnny!
Moose tempation is pointless!
Lenni you are a darling.

moosemama · 13/02/2010 22:39

Definitely the chocolate - I haven't the energy for men.

I have G&B on toast being delivered to me as I type.

Night all and thanks for all your support.

Gumps · 13/02/2010 22:42

Omeprazole? Thats what ds takes for his reflux. How much do you take out of interest? Only went to a new chemist today to gte ds prescription and she flipped out that ds was having 10mg twice a day. has made me slightly worried although I do have faith in my paediatrician.

Gumps · 13/02/2010 22:42

Sorry horrific typing. Why do we all moan about being tired and never go to bed?

moosemama · 13/02/2010 22:53

Thought you'd gone to bed.

I take omeprazole for GORD, but don't need it all the time. My GORD (Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disorder) is brought on by stress, but aggravated by fatty foods. When I last saw the stomach guy at the hospital he said just to use it as and when I felt I needed to rather than staying on it all the time. I'm supposed to take it for a few days at a time if I feel any symptoms coming on, but am naughty and use it to stave off an attack if I do something silly like eat loads of fatty food just before bed.

I'm on 20mg at the moment. When I had my gallstone attack and they didn't know what it was they put me on 40mg and it made me so ill with the side effect.

I know what you mean, I never go to bed when I'm tired and am always moaning about how exhausted I am. I think its because the nights feel so long and stressful at the moment, I try to avoid them. [daft Moose]

Happy birthday beth! Have a good day dog, and also wishing your Ps a safe trip home. Would love camping in cornwall this summer and can definitely provide feral kids and a badly behaved dog.

Gumps sorry you are having a crap time with your periods. Mine have gone a bit nuts too, last motnh I was really late and convinced I was pregnant, this month I am 10 days early and really light...hmm. As for the moles, I've had three dodgy looking ones removed and it was fine, they were cut out but didn't hurt, def get them checked.
I have also completely had enough of broken nights, j still wakes at 10ish then 3 or 4 ish, I have no idea how to break this cycle but am sure he doesn't need these feeds and it is just habit. DD did 7 to 7 from 12 weeks so i was not prepared for this. The thought of having a dc3 some time next year and a toddler who doesn't sleep through makes me shudder with fear. I have made allowance for j being hungry due to his diet restrictions but have been reassured he is getting what he needs...so any ideas welcome.

Elki, just realised how insensitive I was asaying my mum died of bowel cancwer, sorry I didn't mean to scarwe oyu or anythng, just wanted ot say I had some. experience, and as I said she was diagnosed very late on. It is very common and very treatable, so fingers crossed for good resukts for your ma.

lenni What is dry shampoo? Does it mean i can spray it on my greasy hair before work without having to wash it and then it will look fab? if so where can i get some?

pat how was your night?

tree......where are you?

Thanks dog, will give bedtime milk a try, have not heard of it before. He is on 75th centile for height and weight and nutritionist seemed to think he was doing ok in terms of getting what he needed in the day, he does take food 3 times now, just blended. Think sleeping through would be good for him too in terms of getting rest while he is having treatment (as well as being good for dh and me ) Will try PUPD too...did this for ages when he was tiny and gave up!

You are a brave lady dog! Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you. Does it feel strange that your tiny baby is 5? I am in shock that dd is soon to be 3.

Yep, they both have a pretty rigid bedtime routine, bath at sixish, story, milk, cuddle bed by 7pm. (It saves my sanity) They are pretty much tv starved apart from the odd dvd here and there. Might try a few drops of lavender oil too. He is in a grobag too. I just think he has got into a habit. The one thing is his left arm is slightly weaker and gets stuck under him so he gets uncomfy, but he can move himself to get comfy and if this happens he can be settled with a quick cuddle.

Good idea to share the responsibility with the party, thats sweet that shes got a birthday twin. Have they known each other since they were babies?

DH just mumbled to me in his sleep that his parents might be dropping round for a coffee this morning...wit htier friends who are over from NZ (they are all down in London for the weekend)...house is a pit....my hair is unwashed...my children are urchins...DH is still in bed...and i have spent the morning neglecting my children on mumsnet.

Hkz - ds is also waking in the night atm. He wakes at about 10 when we can usually get him back to sleep without milk but not always and also waking at 5am when he used to go back to sleep but lately hasn't we are going to try that wake to sleep thing with him but every night when the alarm goes off at 4am I just turn it off and go back to sleep! I think with d it is mainly comfort and his inhaler he wants since he is really wheezy at night lately. Must take him back to gp.

Happy birthday Beth! Have a great party and glad you are now out dog, can't put my foot in it.

tinksbabyis1 · 14/02/2010 10:35

Just coming on to say the film was great and two glasses of wine even better

DS repaid me by waking up at 10.15pm when we got home and then not going to sleep till 1am......awake again at 5-6am, arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!

Luckily at the IL's so they got up this morning and i laid in bed till 9.30am.

So I fully sympathise with Lenni, moose, HZ, Gumps and all the other poor sleepers

Lenni, I'm sorry but thats not allowed, do you hear???????????? Only joking, hope to see you soon (p.s you could stay at mine you know as dog not coming now?????)

Dog- understandable, sorry to not see you and the pups. I am desperate to go to cornwall so may well take you up on that offer, when is best for you?? We have not many plans at all in the summer hols except the first week.

MissJ- looks like its just me and you again.....sorry!!!

Moose- hope DS2 better

Hi all.

I have a computer for a little bit so have read throuhg.

So much news, but mainly I have big hugs fro elk and HKZ who seem to have heavy stuff going on at the moment.have thought of Jude daily HKZ. Bloody biopsy - arse arse arse. Huge positive vibes for your mum Elk.

Love to all. I need to have a clear hour to read and catch up properly, but right now I have a house full. My mum is here for therapy bless her as her dog has died. Nell was the family pet, a lovely yellow lab. Mum is floored, and dd1 is tearfull as she knows Nell is ill. We haven't worked up to the 'news' yet.

I plan to be back on thread properly very soon. The laptop is fried, but we are hoping we can sort something.

moosemama · 14/02/2010 15:46

Afternoon all

Tree - great to hear from you. So sorry about your Mum's dog. Hope you can get back on board properly soon.

Ds2, seemed better and wasn't sick from yesterday evening onwards, so dh brought him downstairs to lie on the sofa first thing, thinking he'd spent enough time isolated in his bedroom - and - he honked everywhere all over the living room, brought back all his calpol. He has a temperature today, but no other symptoms to speak of. Hasn't eaten since 6.30 on Friday evening though and is very wobbly. He's being so well behaved though and is just lying in bed on his own watching dvds for the second day running. Poor little mite.

I've woken up with a stinking cold and thumping head today and very quickly had a big row with ds1 (my fault, not his) so have apologised and retreated, leaving dh to manage him for the day, probably for the best, what with my tolerance levels being at rock bottom. Am just off for a looong soak in the bath, can't remember when I last had the opportunity for a long relaxing bath.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!
