so quiet! have been quietly padding through the halls of the mumsnet 'heavy' threads. it's amazing how much support there is on here and how long people spend online.

Some good news... I am nearly better after early a month of having some kind of lurgy or another. Feeling very pleased with myself as it has been so hard going back to work and being under the weather.

I'm very proud of H too; he did lots of walking today and some of it holding just one finger. I feel we are close to true take off. Very exciting. Can't wait to see Jude doing his stuff to HZ!

120 · 27/03/2010 22:11

oh, and there was a ting on FB, but don't think she has had time to be back on here yet!

120 · 28/03/2010 08:45

ting = tree sighting. not quite sure how it ate my words!

tinkstoddleriswalking · 28/03/2010 09:29

morning

off to do food shop today

PatTheHammer · 28/03/2010 17:00

Hey all, Hope everyone having a good weekend.

Everyone seems to be having a super-long nap this afternoon, its so peaceful, I have pottered about tidying and made a chicken and butterbean stew.

Think Z is knackered because he couldn't get enough of the giant bouncing pillow thingy at cotswold farm park this morning. We managed a picnic as it was so nice, yay to summer picnics!!!

Saw some live lambing too, cool but looked very ouchy for the poor sheep. DD held a fluffy rabbit and Z was fascinated with the ducklings, he stroked a baby rabbit, lamb and goat

Yesterday we palmed off DD onto MIL so only had one of them last night, what a difference it makes! Don't even feel like I have 'lost' an hours sleep. Also did the food shop Tink, yesterday afternoon whilst Z was napping, all on my own.....it was bliss!

120- glad you are feeling better.

Books- your gardening sounds very productive, fancy doing mine???????

MissJ- Been to see the baby yet??? Bet you have had a lovely cuddle and not got at all broody. I think that is a nice age gap and what books said makes sense about haredr work earlier on and then a pay-off of sorts when the youngest is over one. but two in nappies was just never going to be my thing I'm afraid, one is more than enough!!

Tea- deffo be up for a meet a Slimbridge, sounds cool! DS is feeling better thanks, little bit whingy yesterday and still not eating much but full of beans and no temp so he is going to nuresry tomorrow!
Sorry to hear your H has an OW, is this why you have separated or since? Please tell me to bugger off if it's too complicated! Glad ou had a nice day together the other day.

Right, must get these children up or they will never go to bed in 2 hours time........oops!

hackneyzoo · 28/03/2010 19:54

It's oh so quiet.....hope yer all having a good weekend. Have had a proper lazy day here...lay in til half 11! (DH had a lie in yesterday) and listened to the Archers and Desert Island Discs in bed...(I am officially turning into my mother ) Had a long walk round Clissold Park this afternoon and some big fat slices of cake to top it off.

Am a bit grr as a friend said she would dog sit next week as we are going up to see PILs in Newcastle for a week and she has let us down at the last minute (we go first thing tuesday) So will have to spend tomorrow rushing around and taking the dog to suffolk to stay with a friend of my dads. He'll have a week on a farm though, so will be a dog!

J doing lots more standing and climbing...no walking yet though. We are going to have a look at houses up in Newcastle as I really want to be near the beach and proper countryside again and it is a hell of a lot cheaper up there (and colder!) so we are thinking of renting our house out in London and buying or renting up north...DH grew up thewre but I have no friends there so am a bit apprehensive, but DHs mates all seem lovely, so we shall see.

Pat, I am looking forward to taking the Dcs to see a bit of lambing action next week..saw your status update of FB and was rofl!

Miss J there are 19 months between my DCs and its a good gap...a nappy nightmare, and bloody hard for the first 6 or 8 months, but really paying off now as they really do keep each other amused and seem to fight play really nicely together. We have just started TTC too...but in the losest possible sense as I haven't been using contraceptive since december and with DD and DS I just got pregant without really trying so am a bit as to what you have to do...apart from the obvious! I had a look on the TTC boards and couldn't make head nor tale of all the abbreviations so gave up. Will take a more scientific approach and do some reading I think....and in the mean time lots of bedroom action (DH is in a state of at the moment!)

Hope the shopping went alright Tink...I am holding off until pay day as have had too many other shopping accidents this month

120 hope the shoe shopping went well, where do you find shoes in Hackney? Am intrigid!

Tea glad you had a good day out. It must be hard being seperated with two young DCs. Do you and your DH still get on? It sounds liek he's involved with the DCs which is good.

Timers are going off in the kitchen...gotta shift myself off my lovely sofa!

Yes we separated due to the affair. Long story. It's on mumsnet somewhere actually...

DD is in my room tonight, which is also where pc is too so I better head off, so my key tapping doesn't disturb her.

120 · 29/03/2010 09:04

tea I'm sorry to hear that. My parents split up due to an OW and I saw how hard it was on my mum. . They are best friends now, oddly, and spend a lot of time together!

HZ I did get shoes for L. They are absolutely hideous and she loves them. They had a nice brown pair but they didn't stand a chance next to the pink!

Am working today so better get off here and read my emails!

tinkstoddleriswalking · 29/03/2010 09:13

hi pat, hackney andtea

so sorry tea that is sad!!

was meant to be taking bracken swiming leaving it as she is so tired

MsSparkle · 29/03/2010 09:32

Morning,

MissJ congrats to your sil! It was the other way around for me because i had the first boy in the family since the 70s so it was nice Good luck with the ttc.

Books i know how you feel when you just want 5 minutes child free time to do something and it seems dp gets resentful. Yet he always has allday 5 minutes child free time and it always seems like his thing is way more important then anything i have to do

Pat your dc sound so cute with the animals

HZoo, you have to work out when your ovulating

I was going down the list of threads and saw the ttc Jan 11 thread! Where is the time going? Then i realised it was 2 years ago that i got pregnant with Finley

missjackson · 29/03/2010 10:48

Hi everyone. Yes, we are hoping for a run of girls now, to balance out the 9 boys that went before ... hkz I am a bit dubious too about the wisdom of actually 'ttc' rather than it just happening as it did before, but I am not sure there is much I can do except wait, as I am not sure I am ovulating yet - 45 day gap between my first two periods, and on day 40ish now, so unless I am already pg, which is highly unlikely, I think I will try those ovulation sticks next month just to see what's going on.

MsS yes, we were all just about getting knocked up 2 years ago with our Jan 09 babies... for me it was the end of April on a ski trip. DH very nearly didn't make it - he turned up halfway thru the week to surprise me - funny to think that had he not managed it, we would have no N now.

pat have been laughing at your farm-related update; sounds like a lovely day. Are you still coming on Thursday? I will fb you later with directions etc. Am super excited!

hkz Newcastle - wow - that is quite a move from Hackney! It is supposed to be lovely though. Does DH have a geordie accent? DH1 had one and it was yummy .

120 lol at ting on fb. Glad you are feeling a bit better after a crappy month. Your brownie recipe continues to impress. I made another batch at the weekend. (pat I have my next batch planned for Wednesday )

Lovely day yesterday. Left N with my Mum, and went to new John Lewis in Cardiff to check it out. Was lovely to just wander around by myself, and treated myself to some nice goodies. Had to drag myself away from baby section - they have some nice stuff this season. Got back in time to go around Waitrose alone, which is a treat in itself. Wow, a whole day spent worshipping in the JL partnership stores...

teaandcakeplease · 29/03/2010 12:38

Went to doctor with DD this morning after things getting worse and worse to the point that she's constantly crying and not sleeping. She has suspected tonsillitis

Been a real struggle and last night I was very crabby after days of no sleep with her getting in and out of my bed etc all night.

I really hope she starts to get better soon...

120 · 29/03/2010 13:13

oh tea, that's awful. Having just been sick for a month, with sick kids too, I know how it drags on and how grumpy you get! Sad for the little ones as they can't really articulate their aches and pains.

missJ yay for the brownies! Shame I can't put my baby massage poster logo on them! Need to learn about marketing as I am seriously crap at it, having spent my whole life taking the piss of marketing people. serves me right I suppose.

am trying not to feel broody and concentrate fully on writing report specs for my boss. oh joy!

teaandcakeplease · 29/03/2010 16:17

120 - I couldn't imagine your situation. Just 4 days of a 2 year old crying constantly, not sleeping and throwing tantrums has driven me mad

missjackson · 29/03/2010 17:26

OMG BFP!

PatTheHammer · 29/03/2010 18:56

AAAAAAaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!![grin ]

teaandcakeplease · 29/03/2010 19:30

Wow! Congrats x

moosemama · 29/03/2010 19:34

MISSJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, really pleased and excited for you, your dh and N.

Also slightly , well actually very as well, as am feeling really broody and finding it all a bit hard at the moment knowing that dd will be my last baby. I'll have to live vicariously through you and Dog.

DH has been hogging the computer all evening so now I typing quietly on laptop in N's room as he sleeps.... my head is somewhat spinning; due date I think is early Dec. Still bf-ing, have read that your milk changes to colostrum around 4-5 months and most babies self-wean then so that's prob what has happened to you dog - feel to think of N stopping but maybe we can be one of those crazy tandem-feeding co-sleeping families!

Of course it is ridiculously early days so not telling anyone in RL except my sister. DH really, really happy.

Sorry for self-obsessed post!

(More brownies in the oven 120 - we love 'em!)

Almost didn't check in tonight before bed, so so glad I did. Wonderful news MissJ, so happy for you. I had a feeling you would be. Congratulations, whatever happens with bf, baby N will be a brother.

As for age gaps - my two are 2 years 10 days apart, thank the lord for those 10 days! They get on brilliantly and although the first 8 months were hard I'm so glad we had them close together. Has helped me career wise too as feel like it is out of the way now and I can move on iyswim, that sounds wrong but you all know what I mean I'm sure.

Hope lurgies lift soon tea, poor DD.

Books - The PACT holds firm! I still haven't sorted out proper contraception even after last months horror scare, must do that before we go on holiday

Pat- Are you on holiday already?
