heavens it's quiet on here! hellllooooo...

Pat, can't tell you how jealous I am of your sleep. I'm still ruddy well ill with whatever it is/was. Moosey - are you feeling at all better?

I have just discovered these bath melt kits how cool is that? 15 minutes for 5 gifts at £2 per present. Am getting some for my mum. And some for me. And some for all the birthday presents this month! Am planning to sell them in my kits if my testers all like them, but I think they look fab. And you can pick which fragrance you want too. The lady is a genius.

120 · 02/03/2010 14:35

tink your poor dd. that must have been awful... sorry that was meant to be part of the last post but got carried away on the kits.

tink - poor dd1 - i can still remember having nightmares as a small kid. my poor dad used to get up and give me drinks of 7up to try and calm me down

lenni -woohoo for outing!!

pat, hurrah for sleep. i wonder if they have strings down trouser legs - you know like they have for mittens?

anyhow, all still a bit miserable this end, dp very down in the dumps about work and c all snotty...

will come back later to see if you're just all watching the childbirth

120 · 02/03/2010 21:24

oooh. is it on again? no tv. can I watch it online?

stripeywoollenhat · 02/03/2010 21:28

yes, at ten. that's how i am planning to watch it

missjackson · 02/03/2010 21:57

oooh 120 are you recipe of the week?! How fab. Am baking brownies - nigel slater - but will try yours next as his seemed way too complicated. And my tin is too small so brownies too big

120 · 02/03/2010 22:00

soo jealous.. could do with a nice big brownie. instead am off to bed as completely knackered! and no tv so can't watch lovely little babies being born.

yes my brownie recipe is easy peasy, quick and really tastes posh if you use ultra posh cocoa. none of this chocolate melting business..

night night

hi hkz hope u r ok

missjackson · 03/03/2010 19:33

Kidnappings sounds crazy dog, I wouldn't let her out of my sight! Is it for real? Scary....

Busy here... lots of admin and bookings for the business which is all good but getting harder and harder to get any quality time in the office without N's 'help'

Brownies were awesome but very rich and fudgey. Will try 120s next. These were v expensive to make too, posh cocoa powder and green&blacks bars etc... but sent out some with OH today when he was out hunting, and he loved them.

Hope you had fun at music tink - we have music group tomorrow. Am exhausted at the very thought - and am starting yoga just for ME tomorrow night, how exciting!

General waves to everybody - sorry, have lost track of the thread slightly.... hkz any news?

missjackson · 03/03/2010 19:34

also, elkie, did you have news today? Thinking of you x

Miss J your talk of brownies is making me hungry. Someone sent me some amazing brownies recently from Gower Brownies...they were lush.

Dog hope you aren't too knackered. The kidnapping sounds scary.

Stripey...think you have hit on a genius idea with string down trouser legs...we live in a sock bermuda triangle here! Hope DP is ok, its crap when work is crap. Hope the colds end soon...spring is in the air...(yep, its gonna change from endless colds to hayfever soon )

Lenni...am reading your FB updates and am so . Enjoy your undisturbed sleep. The only night I have had off recently was our weddingnight and I still woke up at 7am..grrr.

Elkie, hope you have had positive news.

120 you can watch one born every minute on 4OD. I liked last nights episode...was feeling the love for Joy and Fabio, they were lovely. Am sooooooo broody.

Tink, poor DD and her nightmares. Hope she had a better night last night. Glad you got your boden goodies.

Pat, your weekend sounds like a good one. Mother's day...when is it? We are useless in this house regarding all that....I must start leaving some large hints around the house pointing towards how a massive lie in would be the perfect show of appreciation from my family.

Moose, how are you and your clan? I need some dog training expertise. We have a lovely dog, he was a rescue puppy and we got himin HK. he is a cross breed but definitely some kind of working dog inhim. However he is 4.5 now and is becoming...well...nonchelant! i have to admit I was slack on the training side. However it is hard for him being in London when he was used to sea and beaches to run along. he has stopped coming when called (well about 2 years ago..eek) Any ideas of how to retrain/ get him back on track?

I am full of energy at the moment...this time every year, on the cusp of spring, I seem to become a hive of activity...I have been cleaning, sorting, marking , planning....will be back to my normal slack self soon.

J is having his biopsy on Tuesday, so we just have to get through that and wait another week for results.

Am happily sitting on my lovely new sofa which was a late wedding present...it is enormous and completely the most comfortable sofa in the world. It looks lovely and completely out of place in our house as all our other furniture is knaclered and shabby

Books this is my new baby I never want to get off it. (Although it came with a load of hairy 'gruffallo' (DD's words) cushions that I'm not too keen on..

I think the toddler swearing threads are funny...I posted on one once as DD came up to me in bed once and whispered inmy ear, 'Mummy, please can I have my *ucking weetabix?' I was very But it was said in innocence and in such a sweet way! She's slipped up once or twice. But I think you're right, ignoring seems to work a treat....she is very clean mouthed these days (and so are we!)
I love the way they mishear songs, DD sings about the 'diner in the sky' when she sings twinkle twinkle, and according to her the middle of the alphabet is 'never never p'.

Must go to bed

Hi all

Have been doing a lot of reading/talking about books on another website, to distract myself, and on the book threads here too. Last night I wrote a review for a friend's website called The Bookbag - I now have 14 reviews up (started in August but have been much more productive since New Year, about a review a week), am reading another book from there and will have yet another in the post tomorrow. Free books, though it doesn't stop me buying others. And then there's the books other people review on there which sound really great... Aaarrrrrggggh.

HKZ, sorry to hear you're still playing the waiting game, it must be so frustrating.

My news...

My mum had her first appointment today to talk about her test/scan results recently. Not such great news - the cancer has begun to spread to her liver. She is booked in for surgery very soon on 16 March, and I guess that's good news that she can move to surgery very quickly, but they are looking for someone who can operate on her liver as well as the person to do the bowel operation, so that date is just tentative.

I think the bit that upset me most was that she said "I have a fighting chance" - that doesn't seem like enough, right now - I want my mum to have a bit more than a chance.

I'm glad I wasn't at work or alone at home when I heard though, I was out at the children's centre and was able to talk to someone about it (I'd already told her about the initial diagnosis). Also, though I'd hoped our CM would bring D to the group today, sometimes she does, she hadn't so I wasn't worrying that he would see me cry.

I'm scared.
