Hi Books- So easily pleased with the bday presents these males! By the time DD was 3 she had a list as long as her arm of what she wanted, little madam Gruffalo cake sounds good, he will be nice and chocolately I would imagine, yum!

Moose- hope throat better soon, LOL at that pear incident, that is precisely what Z would do if the fruit bowl was on the table and not the window-sill

Stripey- Have a good weekend, hope you have joy at the shops, you sound as bad as me at buying pressies for other halfs, poor DH always gets his late after I plan on getting him soething good.

Busy weekend here too, uni friends coming down to stay. Childless couple so I don't imagine we will see much of them whilst they enjoy their lie-in till 11.30am
or something on sunday Still, must clean the house quickly tomorrow morning [yawn]

Had a good meal out with work yesterday, was good to get out and Z was very well behaved for his Daddy, didn't wake up till he heard my car pull up on the drive at 11pm

moosemama · 26/02/2010 22:40

Oo oo, almost forgot in my relief at surviving parent's evening last night, I forgot to say ...

Dd stayed with Mum while we went to to parent's evening! We were gone for an hour, left her just dropping off in her swing and came home 15 minutes after she woke up to find her having a cuddle with my Mum. Apparently she was fine, not a whimper, even when she woke up and we weren't there.

She's actually spontaneously climbed on Mum's lap a couple of times this week, so you never know, dh and I might be able to go out one night soon and leave my Mum babysitting.

Should be in bed, but am waiting to see Johnny Depp and Tim Burton on Jonathan Ross.

120 · 26/02/2010 23:06

evening... I should be in bed too, but we opened a bottle of wine and well... must have a life and it is Friday night! DD just had a nightmare so trying to settle her. They get all clammy!

pat, yes it is. usually takes about 5 mins to prepare (not if you are trying to make 7 other dishes at teh same time though!).

HZ, sounds like we have a good plan. Do you want to drive, then you can take the J painting home safely? It's kind of A2ish size currently (enough paper to cut it down, just wanted to give you a choice on the framing options as the large border looks fab). Otherwise I can roll it up, but wouldn't be great for it, or I can bring it up to you another time. Will be sorry to see him go as L has been known to say good morning to him, which makes me laugh.

Am loving the DC stories, they are sooo cute at this age. Keep 'em coming!

MM I had the sore throat last night and it was very short lived, so worry not (the waffles, chocolate sauce and ice-cream helped.. couldn't taste much but I knew it was all good. Maybe a good addition to mr depp and burton?).

moosemama · 27/02/2010 00:03

120, I've had the throat thing all week now, its so painful and now it feels like the skin is peeling off the inside of the top of my throat and it keeps choking me (sorry TMI). Hopefully ds1's will be better tomorrow though, I dread getting a sore throat, its my achilles heel and always seems to get so bad I end up needing abs.

I have a Tesco order coming tomorrow and have made sure there's plenty of ice cream and a box of mini magnums in there (purely medicinal you understand).

I got distracted reading some stuff about Aspergers online and missed the flippin' interview - doh! They always put it on the catch-up tv thing though, so I'll have to watch it tomorrow now.

Right, am off to bed.

Lenni · 27/02/2010 00:51

Have finished first draft just now so should be back to normal service by middle of next week. This is stressful.

HKZ - wonderful, wonderful news. I can't begin to imagine the emotional rollercoaster you are on at the moment, but so lovely to hear good news.

evening all. just coming on to see if HZ has recovered from incident at lunchtime. boak.

hackneyzoo · 27/02/2010 20:48

oh sweet jesus 120....the thoguht of it still makes me shudder. I have disenfected jude, brushed his teeth very thoroughly and washed him within an inch of his life. I can't even bring myself to go into much detail, but whilst having a lovely time in the pub with 120 and DPs and DCs....Jude found something rather dry an dunsavoury on the floor, that was a by product of dog....and he ate it

Hi everyone....

hkz LOL at dog matter, that is soooo gross! Brilliant news about tumour not growing ! Sounds like you and 120 had fun - next time I come to London, let's organise a meet up! Your painting is going to look so wonderful framed.

pat how was the hangover?

books good luck with the decorating - the prep is always the worst bit I find. I'm quite happy to actually paint. My sister has got rid of most of the woodchip in our house in London, very slowly, over the years - horrible job. Meanwhile my PIL are still happily putting new woodchip up in their place...

MM hope you feel better.

tink 'cloudy with a chance of meatballs' - is this some sort of crypic cross between the weather and a trip to ikea, or am I being really dense

Talking of meatballs, we braved ikea on the way home today. Had great trip to London, caught up with lots of friends, fab wedding on Sat - but lots of rain. Set off early this morning, stopped in Bristol when N woke up, and did ikea - on a Sunday lunchtime, twas a bit mad, but he had fun, and finally decided to feed himself soup with a spoon! Messy....

Hope you all had a good weekend and that all babies are sleeping peacefully ready for Monday morning . I know mine's not - he's downstairs watching ice hockey with DP - too much sleep in the car today.

tinksbabyis1 · 01/03/2010 09:28

elkiedee · 01/03/2010 10:03

HKZ, good news re J but eek at what he ate in the pub.

We (family) are all awaiting the news on Wednesday. My "little" brother is going to be at home that day and will ring round and let us know. I'm off that day so I can spend the afternoon at the Children's Centre with a very kind group worker whose shoulder I've cried on more than once (about this and other stuff).

Lenni · 01/03/2010 14:04

:-o I missed tim burton and johnny depp on Jonathan Ross??? Argh! Excuse lack of caps, on phone. Will carry on catching up...

Lenni · 01/03/2010 14:17

Sorry Elkie, hadn't got as far as your post yet. Hope it is good news for your Mum on Wednesday, it is a very treatable condition even if it is cancer. Hope you have plenty of support there for your family and of course your Mum.

Books, looking forward to seeing cake pics, will hunt out in a bit.

Moose - Great news on DD staying with you Mum.

HKZ - Still following your other thread, keep updated when there is news. Hope you had a good weekend except for the poo, still can't bring myself to think about that, ick!

Going away for two nights tomorrow minus DC's, going
to posh do with champagne reception, took so long deciding whether to go that missed nice hotel so in premier inn but I couldn't care less, there will be sleep! Of course I'll spend the whole time talking about the kids and will only manage two glasses of wine without embarrassing myself but I can dream of a drunken night out can't I?!

tinksbabyis1 · 01/03/2010 17:47

wow lenni sounds gr8

hkz good luck

receieved my boden orders - owl tshirt and spotty red coat for bracken r lovely

off to tesco soon

PatTheHammer · 01/03/2010 20:26

MissJ- No hangover.....hurrah!!! Although DD was in our bed from 5am and shortly after I posted DS puked all over his pillow and (new[angry) pyjamas so that was nice to clear up in my p**sed state! So still felt rough even though DH let me stay in bed till 9.
Wedding sounds great and you are so brave doing Bristol Ikea on a sunday! Early saturday or a weekday are the only days I wll go.

Bit of a random puke though as no more since sat night and has been absolutley fine in himself since then, I think he just ate too much (surprise!).

Had a lovely weekend, bit manic on sat with few hours of house cleaning and shopping befoe friends arrived. Then we had lunch and went over to Gloucester for a wander round the docks, in the rain, via Baby Gap. DD went to the boat museum and then we nipped to get Z some new shoes (he lost ONE last week, I was livid). We had tea out at Frankie and Bennys, they do a great kids menu and the kids were fab even though we didn't get home till 7.45pm, well past thier bedtime. Lots of drinking after kids in bed Sunday we cooked a big roast then went bowling, DD had a fab time and was actually quite good, Z just ran about and ate raisins. we then went for a big walk round the town and park to work off some calories.

Am knackered now though, even after (shhhhhhhhhh........) a full nights sleep last night.

Lenni- sleep sounds great, and the do as well. Get leathered, you know you want to!!!

Books and Tink- You have reminded me that we have not taken DS swimming for months, must go this weekend, we are supposed to be going out for breakfast on sunday (DH's idea!) but no other plans yet.

Anyone any nice plans for mother's day? I am gutted because they are having a special mother's tea at DD's playgroup on the friday but I can't go as I am at work, she really doesn't understand that I can't take time off either as a teacher. Oh well, hoping to go out for a nice meal as a family on the sunday instead.
