I have some good news for once! Jude's scan results came back and his tumour hasn't grown, which suggests it is less aggressive than they thought. So rather than launch into chemotherapy they will do one more needle biopsy, as the lack of growth is suggestive of the tumour that doesn't necessarily need intensive chemo. So although we are still waiting for a firm diagnosis I am happy for them to do further investigation if it will avoid unecessary treatment.
I am sitting in the office at work stuffing my face with celebratory chocolate in between occasional fits of weeping. Tis a very attractive look

Gumps · 26/02/2010 14:22

HKZ hope you have got some news.
S can mooo so sweetly with his mouth closed and when I ask him where his nose is he sticks his finger up it.
I am gutted as I have just given away a free ticket to the rugby tomorrow. I am going to visit my bf which will be lovely but why to social things always come at once?
Af due again but not feeling preggers this month. Another friend is just pregnant with her 3rd and we had the other 2 at exactly the same time so would be nice if it happens soon. Had a smear yesterday and the nurse was a cow and left the horrid thing that stretches you in while she wandered around the room talking to me. It bloody hurt!
Both ds asleep. Tis a miracle...
Mooose hope you feel better. You need to get something to boost your immunse sytem I think. I recommend a fortnight in the Bahamas

tinksbabyis1 · 26/02/2010 14:37

hkz - thats great news choccys definetly deserved

moosemama · 26/02/2010 14:40

HKZ, great to have some good news. Am really pleased for you.

Right, so we all need concentrate on bombarding our positive vibes towards the needle biopsy now.

Hi Gumps, dd has an obsession with poking people on the end of their nose and saying "noooo" very emphatically. She also does a good line in sticking her finger up my nose - yuck!

I have ordered some Fembion Energetic Mother or something vitamins and minerals. Spent ages looking at all the different ones and working out which combination of vits and minerals and those seemed the best at the time. Can't for the life of me remember why now though. Also hoping getting more fresh air and exercise and eating more healthily will help sort me out. Still have no voice this morning and was up in the night crying in pain with my throat. I should probably go to the doctors, but its too much of a pallaver (sp?) to get there on on the bus.

Tink, wow B is really getting a shift on now isn't she. Just think of all those lovely shoes you get to buy her! (Well a girl's gotta have shoes y'know, its important! )

Apologies if I've missed anyone.

Right, have to go and try and make myself look human, nearly time to fetch the boys.

tinksbabyis1 · 26/02/2010 17:33

hi mm

sounds like u have a plan mm

bracken is very active alot more then her sister was i have already been eyeing up the first shoes on clarks website so cute.
i reckon she will need some in about a mnth

120 · 26/02/2010 18:51

evening all. shattered here. never got as far as dvd last night. got to bed and fell asleep clutching the ruddy thing whilst waiting for dp to bring his laptop. grr.

HZ WOW!!!!! fantastic news. Need to get the painting of him to you somehow...

my proud mummy moments are H doing all the motions to wind hte bobbin when I sing it and DD singing all of molly malone on her own, in tune... usually to an audience. Very cute.

gumps you poor thing, I HATE those metal things. the very thought makes me clench.

stripeywoollenhat · 26/02/2010 19:03

hkz - hurrah! more chocolate! and wine! so pleased, is it possible then that he might not need chemo?

gumps and moose - c is also more than willing to stick her finger up her own nose or anybody else's that comes close enough... ick.

tink, hurrah for walking! we haven't had any sign yet here, really - she'll walk a couple of steps using the little trolley with blocks she got for her birthday, but prefers getting the knees of her tights/trousers filthy while speed crawling towards the cat's food everything that catches her attention.

my proud mummy moment: this morning she pointed out of the window at a magpie and said 'there bird'. that's practically a sentence!

i hope i'll get back later, but have to go cook, poor dp a bit hungover and enfeebled today...

PatTheHammer · 26/02/2010 19:08

Whoop-whoop!!!! Sounds positive HKZ- Still thinking of you guys lots so glad for some better news for all of you, lets hope the next biopsy is just as positive.

Hola to everyone else, be back later when we have solved the eternal dilemma of sifting through the manky contents of the friday night fridge trying to make a meal...........or ordering a takeaway

moosemama · 26/02/2010 19:11

120, dd does all the 'wind the bobbin' motions as well. She seriously LOVES that song, ds2 has to sing it with her in the playground to stop her getting bored while we wait for ds1! She is also driving me nuts constantly doing the 'round and round the garden' hand movements to get me to sing it and tickle her.

Picked ds1 up from school tonight to be greeted by his teacher telling me he has been hot with a headache this afternoon. Then he spoke and sounded croaky and said his throat hurt so it looks like he's got my bug. Ds2 also has a stinky cold, so it looks like we're in for another pj weekend. Ds2 needs to be better before Sunday afternoon though as he's going to an Art in Nature party at the local Nature Reserve and he's really looking forward to it. (He's going to be an 'Rtist' during the day and a 'Rockstr' at night when he grows up - his spellings not mine. ) We are all dosed up on various amounts of calpol, calprofen, paracetamol and ibuprofen, what a hopeless germ ridden family we are.

120 · 26/02/2010 19:43

lol mm. H also loves the round and round the garden thing. If I don't do it with him, he snakes round my legs like a cat, making a noise that has a good likeness to the round and round rhythm. Not so cute when you are trying to cook dinner with pans full of boiling water and sauce.

IF you are lucky MM, yours will be like mine and shake off the bug in a measely two days. I've still got mine and it ruddy well started on Monday. Grump.

Pat, I had that dilemma tonight and ended up cooking spag bol, broccoli soup and rice and peas all at the same time. needless to say dinner was a bit odd and the toddler opted for cheese bagels.

Dog loved your scan pic on FB, sendinglots of love to your new bean.

Am wandering what to have for dinner....thinking....cheese...hmmm, have just been shopping and bought a lot of cheese products.

Its so lovely to hear how all the babies are developing, I love proud mummy moments.

120 am going, probably to MOC tomorrow so will give you a text if you fancy hooking up, am excited about painting.

Stripey, DS is the same, likes his bum shuffling but doesn't seem intent to walk just yet...C sounds like she is a genius, that is a sentence! DS is still on Dada...he calls everyone it.

Still not caught up properly, but wishing everyone a happy weekend.

120 · 26/02/2010 20:50

yay for good scan. am (metaphorically) shagged so off to bed.

PatTheHammer · 26/02/2010 21:04

Hmm, these girlys are genius! Z still intent on running and climbing on everything, he has worked out how to move his chair from his little table and chair thingy next to things and then climb up onto them, what a naughty sausage! He LOVES round and round garden, happy and you know it, this little train and row, row. He does a few actions, usually row, row he starts doing in the bath! Word-wise he sounds much like HZ's J, most stuff is Dadda or 'hiya', although we have had a few 'Mammas' this week and at nursery today they said he said 'nack' at snacktime (typical).

One thing he is doing thats really funny is that he has decided to become obsessed with me drawing/opening the curtains. If we come down in the morning and don't draw them straight away he gets really upset and points and shouts at them, then climbs up on the sofa and has a good old look and chuckle out of the window, bit like 'Oh, good morning world'. When we get home from work/nursery he shouts and points for me to draw them......strange child!

It is such a great time, I love that they are becoming sooooooo interested in the world around them and even the tiniest thing captures their little imaginations so easily. Z was so happy last week when I put his carseat in the front and he had a really good view of the world around him, I think he is going to be a nosey so-and-so!

Well, sainsburys curry-in-a-box it was tonight. Gave up trying to make something out of yoghurt, cheese and slightly rotten vegetables. It was nice, for 7 quid you can't expect much!

Moose-glad parents evening went well, sorry you guys are ill again

Dog- lovely Scan Gotta rest whilst you can, I'm not sure I could cope with pregnancy tiredness and 3 little people to deal with, much respect!

120- Broccoli soup, sounds yummy, is it on your blog?

Hi to Tink and Stripey too

Anyway, must shoot off as Lost has started.

stripeywoollenhat · 26/02/2010 21:08

okay, another go at catching up

dog, i think i more or less had a tear in my eye looking at your scan pic, i can remember how lovely it was getting c's hope you are now gently snoozing (or reading something very lightwieght)

moose, 120, c is also a big fan of round and round the garden, but prefers dp to do it. i am obviously crap at tickling

lenni, fingers crossed on the funding app

books, very impressed at dd's putting things away in the right place! bet c will have moved into her own place by the time she does that...

elkie, i really hope today went okay for your mother and you

hope that the ill among you are starting to feel a bit better - and moose that it's a false alarm with ds1

have a sociable weekend ahead here - dp's birthday, still haven't bought birthday present shops tomorrow for me

moosemama · 26/02/2010 21:32

Yay for scan Dog, it must all be starting to feel so much more real for you now. Good to hear you are being sensible and resting when you can.

Pat, dd is desperate to climb, but fortunately not that adept at it - yet. I spend a lot of time extracting her from the toybox though. One of the Grandmas that picks up her gc's from school has a gs that is 15 months old. The other day when they got back from shopping they couldn't find him anywhere - he was in the middle of the dining table, still wearing his snowsuit, happily tucking into a pear from the fruit bowl.

I think I was spared the climbing thing with the boys, as they are both pretty dyspraxic really (soon to be confirmed by dx, we hope). Dd is definitely preparing to more than make up for it though.

Books, can you come round and teach my boys how to put their clothes away please? They just seem to look at me blankly with absolutely no comprehension whatsoever when I try. They are very good at getting their own clothes out though - well, if you count pulling almost everything out of the wardrobe and standing on it in the process.

I had two mouthfuls of pasta for tea and gave up. My throat hurts!
