oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

Did you do your form, Daisy? did ya? did ya?

Ria, well done with those plant bargains! That's one thing we never seem to get bargains in

Am a littl concerned about the size of the guest list for the party, but too late now! But should be fine. We will put all of Jamlet's outside toys out (sandpit, slide, toy car, bike, and the new tunnel/tent thing she'll get for her birthday) so that should help keep them all amused. I am also going to make plain fairy cakes and a batch of buttercream icing and let them decorate them with sprinkles and sweets to have with the birthday tea. And we have got some face paints, so I reckon a couple of hours will fly past!

Riaferdinandgonehome · 10/06/2010 13:43

you need wine for the minute they go home

Jammyrella · 10/06/2010 15:00

Most certainly, Ria

Riaferdinandgonehome · 13/06/2010 10:36

have a happy birthday party jamlet

LackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2010 14:40

I filled it in!!

Happy Birthday to the jamlet Hope you are all having a lovely day.

when are the other birthdays?

I see from jbm's facebook wall that she is getting lots of congratulations and that it is a boy but there is no update from her....does anyone know the details?

Congrats jbm and family....dying to hear all about it!!

Norty I love peppa pig; they are such a happy family and laugh at everything I want to be part of the pig family as it is much nicer than the reality of mine!!

Started back on the weight loss programme yesterday. Only class available on a Sat morning is WW so I have joined; the whole points counting thing is a wee bitty tedious so far. Back to where I was in March weightwise, so I have it all to do. Hoping to lose my 10% by my holiday in 9 weeks. It's 18lbs so not outwith the realms of possibility. Am aiming to do a lot more walking as well and am working myself up to jogging.

OP posts:
Riaferdinandgonehome · 13/06/2010 14:54

well done daisy. good luck.

I am doing WW too, though it's gone a bit by the wayside while DH and I have been "testing the water" of his return (staying up til 2am with Miss Marple, wine, and cheesecake and cream has to stop). His stuff is all here now, so I suppose this weekend is his official return, though if he doesn't unpack it all and tidy up by Wednesday he can piss off back with it all. We can be WW buddies

congratulations to JBM, also can't wait to hear.

haven't been on my FB today, have been busy as my alter-ego on the local "for sale" FB group, and have sold enough out-grown toys for the trampoline to be fully funded by granparents birthday money and the proceeds. Just need to hope there is still one in stock when my Dad goes to pick it up. will check up on everyone's news in a minute.

The kids are driving me mad today. Can't get outside cos it's raining. am trying to get some cleaning done for next weekend. (might as well have a party for baggins if we are getting a trampoline)

CharlottesClan · 13/06/2010 15:00

ouch for implant! i really must get something sorted myself, otherwise im bound to end up pregnant

well done for filling in the form daisy

good bargains ria!

norty i love peppa pig too. its nice to have a program that isnt overly educational. and i love it for the same reasons as daisy!

been lurking but not had time to post. am now a non smoker again
dh has a job at thomas' school, he is a teaching assistant. its only for three weeks but beggars cant be choosers eh

got my information evening at college in a 2 weeks, very scary.. keep trying to find excuses not to go, but i know ive got to as someone has to bring in the money dh is useless

Riaferdinandgonehome · 13/06/2010 15:10

well done to your DH CC, that's great news. Is he in DSs class? your college thing will be great, even if scary (says me who is now a full week behind my study schedule)

My arm is still very painful, I have it covered with a support bandage as I'm scared of the kids jumping on it. The ends of the stitches are really long and scratchy too.

suppose I should go and finish defrosting the freezer. I don't like Sundays when there's nothing exciting to do. I had wanted to get on it the back garden as I finished the front last night, but the weather is against me

I am REALLY bored

No ria he is in the school and thomas is in the nursery so they dont see each other. which i think is a good thing anyway.

sorry your arm hurts so much, is it once every 3 years they replace it?

Jammyrella · 13/06/2010 21:09

Well, I think I may be MORE exhausted now than I was 3 years ago! Party was a sucess. We were worried by getting rain this morning, but it brightened up and was quite warm in the end. We never did get round to the face painting though, so that's something to keep for another day. Jamlet was very lucky and received lots of lovely things but loved the Peppa Pig house that my family got her most of all her presents I think.

CC, hope DH's 3 weeks leads to something more long term - fingers crossed! And good luck with college.

Ria, hope your day improved even if the weather didn't.

And good lcuk with all weight loss efforts!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2010 21:22

woo Hoo Buttefly; long time no see I hope you and yours are doing well

How'd the party go jammy? We had 18 kids and associated adults here last week . It went in really quickly, but I spent the whole time in the kitchen firing out more food and hardly saw anyone! I only have DS1 and DD's photos as well as I was too busy to take any, and did the man with more cameras than I have bags think to take any? Oh no

Ria, implant sounds horrible; is it meant to be that sore? Maybe you've got a bit of an infection going?

what a hideous fucking day here . DD has screamed and tantrummed from the minute she got up until the minute she went to bed, and everytime she kicked off, bumble started laughing and shouting at the top of his lungs to join in. And don't get me started on DS1.....have had to resort to wine and chocolate so WW not going great so far. I can hopefully knuckle down in the week; I have till Saturday for the weigh in!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2010 21:33

aaaarghhhhh have just caught DS1 playing on his playstation when he should be in bed...again!! this is a recurring theme and he has only just got it back today after a weeks' ban for the same thing. He has also just sat in his chair and fucking pissed himself and then lied about the fact he had been playing it (oh I must have just forgotten to switch it off earlier, when DH told me he had unplugged it all at the wall) and it was only him glancing at the chair that made me look at it. He had told me when I first went upstairs that he had had an accident, but not in the bed, when he was coming down the ladders and had me congratulating him for managing to wake up and get out of bed.

I can't believe the bloody cheek of it. I am sooooooo angry with him.

Any suggestions gladly appreciated.

soz for the whinge

He's 8 butterfly...I think it's an age thing!

Sorry about the pain thing . Is it something akin to fybromyalgia? and is there anything you can take to minimise it? Will cod liver oil or glucosamine help?

I can relate to the brokeness; we have used up almost all of our savings and I'm desperate to get back to work, but how bloody difficult is it? Even a job in sainsbos is impossible to come by.

right, bed for me...am knackered.

Congrats again to jbm ; can't wait to see some pics and hear all the gory details!!

grr, keep trying to post and the PC keeps freezing.

hope everyone is ok today.

LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2010 23:10

how guilty do I feel . DS was called home from nursery today due to diahrorrhea (??sp) and I had to get my mum over to look after him as I am in the Midlands training. So here I am in a very posh hotel room (free Wifi, super kingsize bed turned down for me and a minibar) whilst DH and my mum are at home with DD and DS . He is ok apparently - not done a poo since he left nursery but still feel like a crap mum

Hope your arm feels better Ria - coil is easy compared to that!

Hope the job hunting goes well Daisy....difficult times to be looking for a job I think.

Well done to JBM - what wonderful news!

LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2010 23:12

My DD would love a peppa pig house - its a bloody obsession! Lovely pics Jammy.

Jammyrella · 15/06/2010 07:33

You've just got Mummy Guilt Norty. You have done NOTHING wrong. You weren't to know it'd be this week that he was ill, and never mind the posh hotel- you are away for work. And even if you weren't then everyone deserves a break, it's just that the timing is unfortunate this time Have a lovely cuddle when you get back though

Riaferdinandgonehome · 15/06/2010 08:12

and try to have a lovely time until you get back, hope he soons perks up and it doesn't spread to DD.

we have a peppa pig house.

have just reserved the trampoline on B&Q website - do they often get their stock wrong? My lovely Dad is away this week, but he is going to Lancaster to collect it with his old folks discount card

spent yesterday mucking out DS1s room. I said I would, and I went in and put all the crap off his floor and surfaces in big bags and then cleaned everywhere with soapy disinfectant. Unfortunate for him I knocked some stuff off his shelf and I found a love letter (something along the linesof "I don't think you're weird, even if everyone else does" and then a lipsticky kiss ) We then had a very odd conversation at teatime (he has fancied her for ages, but she wasn't interested because he "wasn't christian enough", but not they are both agnostic so it doesn't matter), and moved on to underage sex (there's a couple of kids in his class have been indulging for a while), in relations to 2 bricks!!! think I am not very good at serious parenting issues. DH was of course, at work, cooking pie for the football fans.

hope your day was better daisy. sorry you are in pain butterfly.

hope I haven't missed too much out.

Jammyrella · 15/06/2010 14:47

remind me Ria, how old is ds1? Am a little at them already as I don't think he's that old!

Waiting for bus from work school for meeting about them startung preschool in sept. Eeek! Annoyingly just missed one so now may be late if next one not bang on time. And don't want to start out on the wrong foot with the school.

justbeme · 15/06/2010 22:33

Sorry to have abandoned you! As most of you have seen on FB, I have a lovely baby boy - all 8lb 9oz of him!!! Still no name - any ideas - something not too common...we're so indecisive, took about 3 weeks to name DD2!

Have had several periods of disturbed vision today and im still suffering with puffy ankles 4 days on - any ideas?? Have the Mw tomorrow, so will ask her.

Off to catch up.....

Riaferdinandgonehome · 15/06/2010 23:04

Lewin is nice JBM, Lorchan, Declan, David shortened to Davey??? (can come up with lots more if you like) Massive congratulations to you all, am very . Your pics of DD and DS are gorgeous. Is DD1 chuffed to have a brother too? Hope you are OK, ankles might just be being overdue? not sure about the vision, but hopefully your MW can reassure you and all will be well. Don't forget to enjoy EVERY SINGLE MINUTE while he is tiny will you? It passes so quickly the more you have I think

ignore me, am in bad mood and would love to just have tiny wakeful babies who BF quietly all night (baggins still going strong, despite 2 walks since his nap)

sorry for your FB status jammy, hope you are OK. how was the school?

I disgraced myself at school (again) this morning (OK, so I only do it cos of DH being a gov'nor). Have misplaced DS2s report and forgot to make appt for parents eve tomorrow (I'm sure the newsletter - that I can't find - said 2 of the yr5/6 teachers weren't doing theirs tomorrow cos there was an England match.. so I hadn't responded in anticipation of being busy), anyhow, went to the office for something else and decided to ask about parents eve, happening to mention that I thought there was football, and some things in life are more important than education (was almost joking of course), sadly the HT would have heard me (she hates me as a militant staff memeber and bolshy parent), and after she used my first name when she actually said hello too

DS1 is 13, so IMO they should still be playing dollies and lego etc. There is already one baby to an older "lower school" girl at that school (think she is 15 now, he is 18m, he is also a huge secret). when I was there there were a couple who did their exams in solitary because they might have gone into labour, but yr 8 is just WRONG!!!! hence my chat with DS1 about bricks, rather than a proper informative talk. It may be crap, but it may also have more impact. Though I think he knows in his own mind that - he did say he wants his first child to be a cumbrian (as he is by birthplace) and he doesn't hink that's do-able while underage

Riaferdinandgonehome · 15/06/2010 23:07

oops, sorry for long post
