oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

daisy, I am meant to be going to the Dales Tues-Sat. But currently have a hideous summer-flu type thing, and that plus dealing with the kids fighting, yelling and screaming, and the thoughts of packing and organising are making it seem like too much and might well cancel. we don't go back to school til the following Tuesday though. Will have to meet up for definate in the 6 weeks hols!

really really want to run away/go to sleep for a very long time/something

helped DS1 count his money box contents this morning, as have finally given in and agreed to a trip to Sports Direct tomorrow. £43 (when rounded up for bank-bagging purposes with change from DHs my tin!) that's one expensive cricket bat!

Riapentatleisure · 29/05/2010 13:59

I think bumper was bumperliciouso at last namechange. Isn't she due in October?

Jammyrella · 31/05/2010 21:27

I presume everyone has been having lovely, busy weekends? We've been up to my ILs in Cumbria, which was nice. Jamlet asked to stay there when we left Ria - if you are still going away have a good time

Daisy - she was driving a Range Rover. I was driving an Alfa. Mine is probably a write off (not had official assessment from the insurance company yet but our local garage gave that opinion). She maybe had a scuff on the bumper. She has admitted responsibility though, so I just need to find out which garage I need to take it to now.

CharlottesClan · 31/05/2010 21:36

daisy its not you.. the last half term went incredibly fast. am dreading the rest of the week as we have no money and bored children. everyone i know is busy as well!!! what is a stressy mummy to do.

george is now sleeping better. 3 nights of controlled crying and water seems to have worked, he just goes down now with minimal moaning. we took away his late afternoon nap too which seems to have been the clincher!

LackaDAISYcal · 31/05/2010 22:26

Sounds like a nice weekend jammy

We had a family day out yesterday and my word it was awful; DS1 was in full on misbehaving/strop mode and causing misery for all in his immediate vicinity We had a much better day today though; out in the garden doing the remaining bits of tidying up and had a great time. DS1 stayed indoors (poorly knee his excuse) so everyone else had a great time.

He just seems to create this wall of negativity wherever he goes, which I'm sure is my fault as I'm constantly on edge around him waiting for him to explode...not a happy situation.

Good Luck on the stopping smoking CC; it is soooo hard; I did it when I found out I was pregnant with DD and unlike after DS1 didn't take it up again afterwards. Funnily though, I had a dream that I really wanted to buy some the other night, but there was a cigarette factory strike and every shop I went in to was out of fags...I was like a thing possessed trying to track one down; it realllllly made me want to go out and buy some, but thankfully I have resisted the urge so far!

jbm...where is that baby? any news?

Ria; definately will do something in the summer hols; I am soooo not in the right frame of mind for taking all 3 of them on a trip out by myself at the minute. DH is taking Thursday off work and we had thought about a day out, but I have to sign on at 11.30 which kind of scuppers the full day!

Bloody four wheel drives jammy I hope it all gets sorted for you.

CharlottesClan · 01/06/2010 09:44

i gave up when i fell pregnant with thomas, and stayed off them for 5 years.. then dh got really sick and my stress levels went thru the roof. it was after the seizure that i had the first one (kind person in hospital car park!)
then one pack turned into 6.. several weeks later i have to stop as i cant feel the familiar itchyness for one after meals etc
ive got no money to buy any either lol so have to stop!!

still breastfeeding george morning and evenings too and feeling really bad about what he might be getting in the milk.

sorry that ds1 is giving you so much trouble, how old is he now? michaels bro is 10 now and a nightmare. wont do anythings hes told, ignores us, and is damn rude.

LittleMissNorty · 01/06/2010 22:02

sounds like a good weekend Jammy. If that was my Dd I would have left her there

Good luck on the smoking CC - I also gave up when pregnant with DD and am too scared to have one now as giving up was so bloody hard I couldn't face doing it again. I also dream loads about having a fag!

Well DD's birthday is tomorrow and we done our bits at the weekend with bike etc. She has playmobil stuff to open in the morning and then its off to nursery with a cake and a peppa pig "Its my birthday" badge. She came home tonight with a photographic collage her key worker had done for her which was entitled "when I was 2" . It was lovely.

Thanks for all the comments on the pics I put up - Fury is pretty good isn't she - and DS was being such a little shit that day!

Life sounds stressful with DS1 atm Daisy. Of course its not your fault but it sounds like he knows which buttons to push - my DS is the same already and he is 16 months! I have to say I am not mellowing as I get older either!!

Jammyrella · 01/06/2010 23:13

Good luck with the giving up CC. You know it makes sense.

Sorry DS1 is trying you so much Daisy. Hang on in there...

Norty, enjoy the birthday tomorrow. The collage sounds lovely

Jamlet moves up to the pre-school room at nursery tomorrow! She has had a couple of visits and they think she's taking to it now SHe's got 3 months there until we move her to the pre-school attached to our local primary. We are back to getting the bus home at the moment and she chattered to me all the way home tonight, it was lovely

LackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2010 08:47

Happy Birthday to K I hope you all have a lovely day!

Ria, how is the DH situation? I hope things are going well lovely

jbm, I hope things are moving along for you!

Ow Ow Ow Ow...an hour of physio last night, followed by my first attempt at the exercises I need to do and it huuuuurrrrtttttts . Still, as I have all the spine and neck mobility of a pensioner, it's going to take some time to put it right.

I need to get myself in shape. If this is me at 41, what will I be like when I am a pensioner?

right, was hoping for a repeat of the calmness of yesterday, but no such luck; they are all fighting already

OP posts:
Jammyrella · 02/06/2010 14:36

Hope your physio works Daisy, it does sound v painful

Worried now about the news in Cumbria. DH has tried ringing his parents but can't get hold of them Keep fingers crossed everyone.

Jammyrella · 02/06/2010 15:22

Phew! They were out, but away from the "action". They didn't know anything about it until they got home

LittleMissNorty · 02/06/2010 20:06

That's a relief JAmmy - I've just been catching up with the days events.

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time

LackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2010 22:40

OMG at the goings on in Cumbria Glad your parents were well out of the action Jammy!

hello everyone!!! sorry for missed birthdays and the ones to come in june.

whats every one got for there 3rd birthdays? i think am getting chloe a bike, or a wooden kitchen for her play house !

LackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2010 23:15

hey trace, good to see you but sorry things are still a struggle for Chloe . It just seems like you get over one thing and something else pops up. She is one determined little lady though; you must be very proud of her!

Having a few of DD's friends over on Saturday, along with some of DS1's mates, for a joint party. I'm feeling a bit nervous about it, as there are a fair few folks that we didn't invite and I'm worried they will feel snubbed! I'm probalby just being paranoid...

Had a rare child free day today ; DH had taken the day off work and he looked after the kids while I went to sign on and do a bit of last minute birthday shopping. I even managed to get to Debenhams and buy some new bras so I can bin the two manky things I wore all through my pregnancy with bumble and have been wearing in rotation for the last three months since I stopped wearing nursing bras. Feels good to have a bit of lift and separation again

but, when I got home at teatime, bumble was sooooo pleased to see me and was doing the same sort of clingy thing that is normally reserved for DH. MAde me feel a litle bit better as I always feel shit when he rejects me in favour of DH. Nice to know I am actually missed!!

OP posts:
Jammyrella · 04/06/2010 21:30

Am of new bras.

Hi Trace, sorry to hear things are still not easy. Lets hope the 3rd birthday is some sort of turning point, eh?

Back from counselling. Very hard tonight Came home in floods of tears. A lot of talk about my Mum . Just poured myself a rather large serving of redcurrant gin. Possibly not the answer but...

Otherwise it'd been a lovely day. Went to the children's centre with a friend and her two boys who are Jamlet's best friends I think. Then we bumped into them in town this afternoon and joined them for drinks so Jamlet was over the moon

Riapentatleisure · 06/06/2010 12:20

hey jammy, hope you are OK now. not easy when it gets onto our parents. Glad DHs parents are OK too. we were out of area at Malham Cove, and when we got back to Settle there was a frantic phonecall from Dsis to find out if we were OK. We didn't have a clue what she was ringing for. We had seen some of the helicopters doing the airlifting to hospital though. It is very sad, but also a bit intriguing (damn this OU couse!)

happy birthday to DD norty. your pics were fab. I would love some doing, but DS1 has spots, a dodgy haircut and a face like a slapped arse most of the time (sympathies with your DS1 daisy)

also of new bras. I will have to indulge as one of my wires snapped the other day.

Riaferdinandgonehome · 06/06/2010 12:26

sorry, can't rememer what I've missed, quite a catch-up for nowadays.

Baggins was nearly dry at daytime the whole time we were away, but he will NOT poo anywhere but in his pants! It drives my mum mad. She only had one rant about potty training and my weight though!

Came home last night to quite a lot of DHs stuff being back (he was at work)... am OK with it this morning, will be better when it is put away, but last night I wasn't great. It's going to involve a lot of effort on both sides I think. But it should be OK.

daisy, I might be in your neck of the woods July 13th if you're about?

have extended an olive branch to my ex-friend too - I emailed before I went away and she replied. don't know how that will go either, but I just couldn't talk to heror look her in the eye before. now that I, she and her ex have all moved on it might be easier

CharlottesClan · 08/06/2010 12:28

well done on pt ria, dont worry about the poop im sure you will crack it. boys are so stubborn, thomas was the same!

LackaDAISYcal · 09/06/2010 20:00

hello all

agree about boys and potty training; DD was a breeze compared to DS1!
Ria, it must be hard having to share your space again, just as you were getting used to it! I'm glad things are moving in the right direction with DH and hope that it all works out for you.

Just done "crying it out" with bumble . Weeks and weeks and weeks of controlled crying/gradual withdrawal/cuddling to sleep and nothing is working; he was still a nightmare to settle and waking screaming every night. This is the last resort, and goes against all I stand for, but something has to change.

He howled for exactly 30 mins and then went to sleep. going in to him and shushing him and we were lucky to get him asleep after two hours. We'll see how it goes

Yikes tomorrow is cut off day for my job application and I haven't completed the form yet Feel very shaky and scared about even filling in the form. Pathetic really. I want some wine instead.

13th July good for me Ria

Riaferdinandgonehome · 09/06/2010 22:38

had my implanon replaced today, and seem to have had a weird reaction the the local anaesthtic again. GP couldn't get hold of the previous implant to remove it, so I also have 2 stitches as she had to make a bigger cut! Not the most pleasant afternoon I've ever had

Jammyrella · 10/06/2010 08:13

Doesn't sound good Ria

Fingers crossed that you're NOT here to read this JBM, but hoping that day 11 brings results!

Looks like we might get party in our garden on Sunday Forecast looking good, and new patio progressing well so that should be readyin time, phew! We have 12 children with 9 adults coming plus me, DH, Jamlet and my Dad, so we need to use the garden.

LittleMissNorty · 10/06/2010 08:21

OMG Jammy - that's a lot of people and kids!

Ria - that sounds horrible. I wouldn't be able to sit still.

We do crying it out with DS sometimes as well and I hate it - but I have little choice sometimes. Why is it they are fine during the day for naps and then crap at bedtime? Must be a boy thing as I've never had trouble with DD.

DD has discovered Peppa Pig and is hooked - it really is utter shite!

Daisy - FILL THE FORM IN.

Riaferdinandgonehome · 10/06/2010 09:52

hope you get your weather jammy (and that we do too). that's a big party. I am still pondering on baggins birthday, on the actual day is DSis's church fete, and the leaders of DS2s Badgers group are the church wardens, so we have been "invited". So it looks like baggins party will be the Sunday, have been offered DSis's house and DMs house to have the party (for some reason Dsis doesn't seem to like coming to my house), but I was thinking of a big picnic at the forestry. DS1 wants to invite his best friend, but Dniece fancies him so I thought not. I would love to do a big BBQ here and let the boys have their friends drop in, baggins would love that, but it all seems like so much work as there's loads to do in the garden, as well as getting the house straight I would love to be a natural host.

got to love B&Q though - had another splurge on their reduced to clear section the other day, and got about £25 worth of plants for £13, now I just need the weather to plant them out.

have a good day - got to take baggins to toddler church. yippee!

can't wait for the footballers come dine with me tonight, last night was classis

hope you are very busy doing something else JBM, good luck
