That was a good night CD!

It is F's birthday this coming Sunday so I think we will head out for the day, not sure where yet though, weather dependent I guess. I am getting her the Peppa Pig kitchen as she is quite into play cooking and is especially fond of Peppa. I have also seen a fab ice cream play set in ELC so might get that too.

SOL, F is going into school half days for the summer term, then full time in September. She will do 9 - 11.30am every morning after Easter. Same school as E for now, but in September he will go up to the juniors which is a totally separate place from the infants unfortunately. Bit of a nightmare to get them both to school on time I think, but will worry about that in September!!

I am going again now. I am whacked. Worked a night shift last night, have had 1.5 hours sleep this morning while F was in playgroup and really want to go back to bed! Looking forward to dh coming home around five as I will be heading up the stairs then I think!

CaptainDippy · 22/03/2010 16:54

You are a Super Hero SB - Do you ever wear your underpants on the outside of your trousers??

Bramshott, AngeG, SexonLegs - Anyone up for a "SE-ish Meet Up" over the Easter hols?? Maybe find a soft play place??

Evening all

Sorry I've neglected you all Could do with a bit of support this week. W has to have his front tooth taken out
Don't know if any of you remember, but about a year he faceplanted the drive, and knocked his front tooth. It's gradually been getting darker and darker, and last week the dentist confirmed he's got an infection in his gum, which means the tooth has to come out.

Thought I was ok ish about it, until today I started having a panic in work about it. Was quite sensible and rang the dentist, asking for a complete step by step guide on what will happen, and do feel a bit calmer.

I know the tooth is hurting him, because he won't bite on it. And that removing the tooth means there's a good chance his adult tooth will be unaffected. But I still feel crap.

he's having a local anaesthetic (really didn't want him to have GA) which means our regular dentist will do it. And W knows that the dentist is going to sort his naughty tooth out.

This parenting lark sucks Anyone know how I hand my notice in

SPBInDisguise · 22/03/2010 18:48

Wow CD
Yes, I do remember that runny, sorry to hear it does have to come out after all
When is it happening?
Would it help to think of it as like a vaccination - some discomfort to save a load of possible pain and hassle later on? I know it's more significant than a vaccination but hopefully ykwim? Or else please just ignore me

runnyhabbit · 22/03/2010 19:01

Hi SPB

My mind knows that it is the best for W in the long term. Just my heart feels a bit heavy. (doesn't hep that I've got pmt atm

He's having it out on Thursday evening (late appt so no-one else will hear the crying)

SPBInDisguise · 22/03/2010 19:30

Yours I bet

SPBInDisguise · 22/03/2010 19:31

Just think of all the guilt-free spoiling you'll be able to do of him on Friday

runnyhabbit · 22/03/2010 19:48

Have got a few treats lined up for him (he's really into Mickey Mouse atm so a trip to the Disney shop could be on the cards)

Have told dh to make sure there is a bottle of wine ready in the fridge for me Thursday night.

ScarletBandit · 23/03/2010 14:07

Runny, I can totally understand how you feel because of F being in the same sort of position. I was gutted when she banged her tooth and it is definitely more prominent than it used to be. I have a bad feeling about the fact that hers may have to come out eventually and it scares the pants off me.
Just think, an infection which got out of control in his gum would be far worse, so it is better to be proactive and get rid of the problem before it escalates.
It won't be pleasant at the time, but kids have a tendency to be incredibly good at coping with all sorts of things so I am sure W will bounce back very quickly.
I am at the end of the phone if you need to chat any time, will be thinking of you on Thursday xxxx

CD, not a look I have ever tried tbh!!
