dh and I both at home.... I sort of wish he was stranded at school
No snow on its way it seems. But any tidy clean person is welcome at ours anytime

ah bugger, that rules us out from ever visiting star!
A few cm of snow so far here, but still snowing. No school for dd which she's disappointed about, so she's watching mary poppins for the 100th time this week.

Rules us out too CSWS!
The sky is very pale grey, I think we're in for some more but when I don't know. How British of us; chatting about the weather!

ronshar · 06/01/2010 11:02

Yipee I have my snowboarding trousers on I have my boots down from the loft and my board in the car. Im off out ladies and I may be some time

W keeps giving me bars from the cupboard. He almost seems surprised to see them in his hands, like he doesnt know how they got there!!!

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 11:13

Where can you go snowboarding in the southeast of England? Or maybe you're being sarcastic. If you're not, I'll get my board and boots down from the loft and see you asap!

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 11:16

Any tidy person is welcome to visit us anytime. Any lovely person is welcome to visit us anytime. Just don't make a mess! haha just kidding. I don't care if it's a mess when we have guests (rarely as our place is so small). When we had the myjobs here after museums I hadn't cleaned after two meals because of a minor accident with Q's chin bleeding that morning and just let everything go and we all survived that was eye opening for me... who always wondered... what would happen if you didn't clean for a little while?

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 11:19

oh and it's snowing now again - but just flurries. Although... I'm from Vermont. So this really looks like just a typical early winter day to me... the neighbours seem to be in quite a bit of shock and aren't sure how to sort out cars, driving, footwear...etc. It's actually all quite funny to watch.

Grrrr bloody snow! I just took M for her 'sleep walk' as she was getting grumpy and just as she was nodding off it started snowing. "Ooooo, look, dat, look dat, oooooo, dat dat look oooooo!" etc. M GO TO SLEEP! She did in the end but I had to do twice the amount of walking I usually need. Oh well, it won't do me any harm I suppose.

does she make the /l/ sound, 50ft? Wow! That's a tricky one!!
Q is still speaking uggle buggle
myjob - your ds was just preparing us for what happens now . We thought he was cute and fun so we didn't care what he did. He could have coloured on the walls and we would have just painted over it

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 11:44

Are we doing the 24th at ronshar's?

No she doesn't Star it is very much 'ook' rather than look. She does do the 'blurble' sound (which always makes me laugh) to practice though. She has also been making lots of animal sounds today. She watches me very closely then tries to copy. M has suddenly got better at chatting recently. Most of what she says can only be understood by me, DH and my mum (DS claims to hear her saying lots of random stuff ) but she is making herself very clear to us these days!

50ftQueenie · 06/01/2010 11:56

I have just remembered I have a party to go to on the 24th (well DS and M have a party to go to). It was arranged ages ago so temporarily forgot. You meet up without me. It's going to be a nightmare to get everyone together any other time!

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/01/2010 12:39

You dozy whatsit 50ft! Your ds will have to wait even longer to get his toothbrush and toothpaste back!

I think you'll find that ronshar was serious star.

And the drawing on the walls stage is more 18 months - 2.5. Dd did a fair bit of it, but thankfully on the wallpaper that we knew we were going to replace.

50ftQueenie · 06/01/2010 12:50

CSWS - DS has spare toothpaste and toothbrush at home as he is a nightmare for leaving things. Is it not M's toothpaste we've left? We were invited to the party in October which is why I had forgotten. I also thought it was a Saturday which is why I thought it wouldn't be a problem.

Ekka · 06/01/2010 13:48

Well we have 10 inches of snow here . But lovely too! Luckily it only started at 5pm so dh got home safely and is working from home today. But it hasn't stopped snowing since 5pm last night.

Its beautiful here, all lovely and wintry and really, really quiet! All the roads are pretty empty except for people walking/sledging along them. I had a sneaky walk into town while the kids were napping, leaving dh in charge, it was sooooo pretty. A bit like that scene from the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe when Lucy has gone through the wardrobe for the first time.

Ok I'm off to persuade the kids into their snowsuits, pop them on the sledge and drag them up to the fire station to see the igloo someone built. Reckon thats as far as we'll get before they get all cross and cold

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 15:05

Where can you snowboard in England?? What fun!

Q loves the snow A bit timid with it, but loves it. I'm meant to be working on writing reports now while dh looks after Q for a bit. But... MN called.

ronshar · 06/01/2010 15:22

Back again.
W eventually got hang of snow walking.
We had to go as DD2 kept losing her welly boots. Nightmare cold feet drama. Must get her some snow boots before we go snowboarding in March.

Star dont panic you are not missing out on major slopes. I live sandwiched between the sea and the Southdowns. So we are protected from most of the bad weather but when it snows the hills are alive with skiers and snowboarders. It is so boring walking back up though. W loved riding in between the bindings with me though. On our bottoms before you think I am a lunatic.

I thought that myjob couldnt make 24th either?
Shall we make a date for Febuary that we can all do and if anyone wants to come down before you are more than welcome.

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 15:28

any sunday is great for me

hmmmm that still sounds appealing! I want to trek down there just to snowboard! Can't wait until we can go again - before Q we went every year at least once and before moving overseas we lived in vt so were able to go every weekend.

ronshar · 06/01/2010 15:32

Stop showing off

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 15:35

We haven't been in 3 years!!!!

ronshar · 06/01/2010 16:00

Okay then I take it back
We have been going every other year for a long time. I went while pregnant 17 wks H & 8wks W. I didn't go too mad just kept to the green and easy reds.
This year will be the first time in ages I dont have an excuse to be a chicken!
