I am much happier today ladies. I visited the school that is 10 mins away today, and it is perfect for dd! The head teacher spent a whole hour talking to me and showing me round, and is lovely! And even better news is that they have 30 places available, and so far (i didn't realise that they can see how many have put them as first choice already) have 25 appns for Sept, so barring a last minute surge, we should stand a chance of a place if we put it first. Which we will be doing. Most Definitely.

Village school haven't even phoned me back yet.

Brilliant CSWS. That takes a whole load of pressure off you.

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 12:06

Yay for finding a school CSWS. The feel of a school is so important isn't it?!

50ft - i turn 41 in 2 weeks.... am i bovvered?!
CSWS, good news re the school, it seems very late to have to apply - Hampshire, we had to have the formsin in Nov and they posted the allocations last week. Just went up to the school with the acceptance docs and the receptionist says it's sooo early that they get lots of natural wastage before the school year starts as so much can happen to a family in 8 months.
Ksal - i sometimes do lending to the oil & gas sector so you never know when you'll be needed!
I was chatting to a mum about potty training her No3 - we were so excited at the prospect of a life without nappies. I've been changing nappies for 5 1/2 years solid now, with well over 18 months of that with 2 in nappies........

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 12:17

Myjob - I can't wait to get our girls together again. They probably keep bumping into each other!

Ronshar - I meant to say that W is not only adorable and cute as a button, but he is one phenomenal escape artist. He is going to be a grifter, no doubt. Charm everyone, take all their cash and then disappear into the night...... Oh did you hear the terrible news? The next series of Spooks will be........ the last! Wahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Pistachio -

pepperrabbit · 26/01/2010 12:17

I'm with ronshar on the 3dc v full on nurturing.
Actually, we don't have rats, but I scared a lot of spiders with my epic cleaning last week! None of the children have cobwebs - I use that as a benchmark of excellence rather than the ability to read!

I will be 35 in Aug. Thats scary. I was always convinced I would'nt make it past 21.

50ft I missed the last programme of the last series. Why will it be the last? Thats not fair.

Just to reassure those that are coming to visit me next week. I do not have rats. I do clean my house. However we do have spiders. W has one in his room who he waves at in the evening while I change his nappy before bed!
I am personnally too scared to climb above his wardrobe and deal with the monster.

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 12:42

Ha ha ha. That is sooo cute!
The reason it's the last series is due to the BBC's commitment to making new programmes rather than just trotting out new series of old ones. I'll see if I can find a link for you. Ah it is in the Mail so it could be a old of old manure then..... Here's the link anyway.

ronshar · 26/01/2010 12:56

I really dont understand how they can keep Holby city. It is so inaccurate. DH banned me from watching it years ago because I used to shout at the tv.
Never mind. I should be reading more and watching less TV.

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 13:01

I can imagine you shouting at the TV. I got banned from watching Judge John Deed (not that I actually liked it, but I thought I'd try). I kept shouting "this is total bollocks" then getting all technical. I remember watching something else and the main character was 'going to see the CPS lawyer in his office'. Cue main character walking into a really plush office with paneled walls and leather arm chairs. I fell about laughing! They clearly have no idea! Most CPS lawyers are holed up in a tiny sweat box of an office, deep inside a scummy old police station sharing desks are there aren't enough for the number of staff!

ronshar · 26/01/2010 13:13

My main issue was the giving birth in what is supposed to be a cardiac ward at the same time as treating general surgery and ortho surgery. All in the same place. Aaarrrggg. Let it go ronshar.

W is currently up on a chair in the kitchen rearranging the keys hanging up! I can hear him filling his nappy. Lucky we have just finished lunch

pepperrabbit · 26/01/2010 13:16

i once met a nurse who part time was "stunt hands" on Casualty. Any technical bits the actors were supposed to do were actually her hands to ensure authenticity.
I thought that was a very odd job to have!

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 13:25

Is that anything like 'jazz hands' Pepper?

M has just discovered the joy of standing on a chair. She moves Ollie's chair over to the oven to peer at the hob (obviously not when it's on!). Hurrah!

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 13:26

Eeeek we need a new thread. I should maybe shut up now!

ronshar · 26/01/2010 13:32

Pepper, thats amazing. What a fab job. Stand there do nothing other than move your hands in an authentic manner!

Go on 50ft. I dare you to fill it up.
Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on.

ronshar runs away to hide before she gets in to more trouble.

pepperrabbit · 26/01/2010 13:47

I'm sure we can lure 50ft out so she uses up more of the thread...

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/01/2010 13:55

Maybe the last few posts could be used on thread title suggestions?

I'm far too busy looking at how to do an online school application.

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 13:56

Oh dear! M has been asleep for 3 and a half hours! Lazy mare! No wonder she doesn't sleep at night. Hang on I'm a bit mutton so she's probably been screaming for hours!

New thread here.

50ftQueenie · 26/01/2010 13:56

Ooops sorry. X-post CSWS!
