Q also stands next to the sofa and leans his head way back (not a scary one) and waits for one of us to kiss his belly

I know you're all tired of answering ridiculous questions from me on this thread, so I'll try to ask many for a while... but I've been wondering for a while, what's a "catsbumface"???

And one more... what's "doon"?? I was hoping it would just become apparent... but it hasn't. I realize it's scottish...

StarExpat · 05/01/2010 20:07

I think I need to check out a cat's bum.
and
realise sorry

Oh Pistachio, I thought of you the other day. M has started saying something that sounds like 'boom' when she falls over, just like T!

StarExpat · 05/01/2010 20:21

oh hahahaha! I can hear the scottish accent now! That's soooo funny! I know everyone else has already laughed about it, but now I'm LOL about "doon" That is too cute!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/01/2010 20:50

It's snowing here now. Dh has just popped out to get firelighters and a few bits (he is concerned that we should have enough bread to last through 4 days of snow ) and been greeted with a layer of snow over everything.

Ds tried to dive head first over the arm of the sofa onto his discovery dome yesterday, so is also a founder member of the 'scare the parents' club.

I didn't think about shops being closed because of snow
Maybe we should go out and get some food... grocery delivery expected tomorrow evening...

50ftQueenie · 05/01/2010 20:56

They just have no fear at this age do they? M launched herself from the top step at my mum's house, laughing as I ran up to catch her. I'd forgotten about this stage.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/01/2010 21:02

The shops might not be closed star, but it might be hard to get to them, esp where we are obv.

Eeek to kamikaze babies! It's terrifying isn't it.

S had a good day at the CM today. He cried when DP dropped him off but no more tears for the rest of the day. She gives us a sheet with lots of info about what he ate, nappies and what activities they did. It's really nice to get an insight into his day. It sounds like she wore him out too, because he had a 2 hour nap. I feel so much better about it all.

Hedgepig how did the return to nursery go today?

Star - I agree with the others, that you should take your friend's comments with a pinch of salt. YOU know what is best for Q. There are examples of good and bad nurseries, pre-schools, CMs whatever. YOU and your DH will know what you feel comfortable with and your opinion may well be different from hers.

If the morning drop off is a problem, could you get a CM to do that bit? Some will just do drop offs and pick ups.

aubergenie · 05/01/2010 21:54

Oh, Pistachio I meant to say before that I LOVE the thought of little T saying "doon"!

jenwa · 05/01/2010 22:00

My dh is saying not to plan going out tomorrow because of snow yet I have work, he thinks I should not drive it snow bad but he has gone to pub tonight I also never thought about shopping we have local shops so not bad though, I have also just eaten nearly a whole bag of doritos so that will keep me going for a while

ohh Dh back in, will see how the snow has been.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/01/2010 22:16

Yay for a good day at CM aubergenie .

SNOW DAY!! Too bad Q still got up at his usual 5.45am, but it's a SNOW DAY Hooray! It couldn't be a better day for it either - I had recess and lunch duty and a meeting after school! Fabulous day to miss!

just discovered we're out of butter, though and Q loves toast... so, need to go to the shop.

ronshar · 06/01/2010 07:54

AAARRRGGGG.
DH has to get up at 6am for the drive to Chessington. Yesterday he woke W up just before he left ggrrr. Now this morning W was ready for him. 6am. Dh brought me in a cup of tea and said you will need this as W is up! I did ask him if it was neccessary to have th elights on just to get himself ready in the morning and he said not really. What an ejit.

So we have a snow day and the whole house has been up since 6am.

Star. Seriously you and DH know much better than your friend. I know you value her but everything you tell us about her makes me think that she has emotional dependancy issues and you are too nice for her. But she is your friend so I shall be quiet.
Aubergenie, thats great at least both you and DH can relax a bit now.

Pistachio, doon. Makes me giggle every time I see it written down

Heather so you will be having your hands full for a while then!

CSWS, how much snow did you end up with? We have about 20cm.

ronshar · 06/01/2010 07:55

Myjob. Thank goodness you didnt get the snow you were forecast. At least you got DH home early instead

50ftQueenie · 06/01/2010 08:13

Wow! I can't believe that you had no snow! The Met are usually the best at predicting the weather (as you would hope!).

Yay for your snow day Star! Hope Q enjoys the snow. M hated it but then she hasn't got any wellies!

20cm Ronshar! That's bloody loads! Such fun (if you hadn't been up since 6am and only had one child to look after for the day).

We've had about 5cm but it's still going. DS is actually looking forward to going to school in the snow as they are actually open! DH is in London and it sounds like unless he's careful he might be spending the night there. They're already discussing stopping services later in the day. Eeeek!

StarExpat · 06/01/2010 08:17

We have barely any snow - and I'm very very close (8-10 min drive) to Chessington. Maybe I'll run into your DH today haha.
ronshar, I think she does... but not on me that's for sure!

ronshar · 06/01/2010 09:08

Star DH phoned to say there wasnt much where he is. Lets hope you dont get any or Ill have to send him to your house for the night. He is very tidy and clean.
50ft. The girls are no probs in the snow it is just when they come back in the trouble starts
