I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

Fine Dizz, just don't forget your Scottish cheese and a cracker

oops just to give you the flip view to Dizzy, we redecorated Dd1's room and put a big girls bed (full size single so we can get in with her if need be) in for her and she moved at 19 months. All fine with her. The cot was then under dust sheets in DD2's room for a while whilst we decorated that and by the time we finished, she had forgotten it was hers (i think)

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/12/2009 20:42

Dizzy - the telly in our room is for emergencies only/ sickness or for lazy mornings for DD and me. it is usually an extra hanging space, DH brought the laptop in as he thought I moght get bored with Peppa pig and endless repetitions of tink tink igle star or baa baa sheep sheep dotta many wool.

Hope No1 is okay and she didn't try and eat the bathbombs sent by her secret santa (they were raspberry and chocolate)

All these NYE dinners sound great we are having a quiet night home as all our noisy friends are childless and all our quiet friends are babysitterless.

CC - I am still PG

Sazz your evening sounds delish. I have just been planning our food for tomorrow when we will be throwing a mini family party with DS. Courgette risotto for lunch, then a selection of nibbles around 5pm: hummus, guacamole, Spanish omelette, stuffed peppers, probably some other stuff I haven't thought of yet. DP, DS and I will chase each other around and share the love after an amazing year. Then once DS is in bed, DP and I will be sharing steak and chips washed down with copious amounts of fizz, of course.

I never thought I could be this happy. Being a mum, being a family, is the best thing that could ever have happened. I love that next year seems exciting rather than scary. Can't wait to see you all again in 2010

dizzycringles · 30/12/2009 20:44

oops on the other hand, DD1 had to go into a bed sooner than most as she had managed to jump up and down in hers and broken the slats on it - shoddy Mamas and Papas hand-me-down. She loved her 'big girls bed' which was one from Ikea that expanded as she grew and wasn't fussed at all when DD2 went into a cot, even when they share a room

do what suits, there is no correct answer

dizzycringles · 30/12/2009 20:48

lol - X post Sazz!

oops the TV in my room was the only way that D kept getting bfed - the Olympics were my saviour and the only reason the laptop isn't up there is because it gets feck all signal

cyteen just wait till he can talk, you need to write down all the wee words he makes up for certain things as once people start correcting them you soon forget - DD1 and DD2 have both had some absolute classics

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/12/2009 20:52

Dizzy - just catching on your funny words - DD has been taught to say 'ta' by the ILs so when she says it I say 'thank you' today she repeated it to me 'fu** you, mummy' I nearly collapsed in laughter DH was giggling like a loon and MIL when white and gasped at us. It has improved slightly during the day and is now more of a fug you.

dizzycringles · 30/12/2009 20:53

brilliant!!!!!

SazzlesOnASled · 30/12/2009 20:57

DD1's 'sophisticated' is something along the lines of 'fistibated'

CaptainCaveman · 30/12/2009 20:58

Aw so cute! Ds1 has only just stopped calling the radiator a 'ratorgator' but still calls a piano 'kapiano' . Dneice could never quite master the word popcorn - she called it cockporn for ages

CaptainCaveman · 30/12/2009 21:00

We also have an 'Intendo Wii' rather than A Nintendo Wii

dizzycringles · 30/12/2009 21:03

see!?!? - all brilliant!!

now stop talking to me, am in a bad enough mood about having to go to work with that lot tomorrow without being tired with it lol

night all

SazzlesOnASled · 30/12/2009 21:03

Loving cockporn

DD1 has just stopped saying craybook for playgroup which was v cute . As Dizz says, write it down

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/12/2009 21:04

Night Dizz sleep well.

I'm off to read my book in a bit, DH is playing at boxing on the PS3.

CaptainCaveman · 30/12/2009 21:08

Blimey Sazz I hope someone reads my post before they read yours!!! Otherwise that's a fine statement you've just posted

CaptainCaveman · 30/12/2009 21:10

Night dizz and oops, sweet dreams

SazzlesOnASled · 30/12/2009 21:15

@ cece

cyteen · 30/12/2009 22:09

We all love a bit of cockporn

Our little nephew's favourite film is apparently Star Horse

lwfhthevampireslayer · 30/12/2009 22:15

Thank you all, you are great people!

Off to cook dinner, then sleep a bit.

DH told me yesterday that he feels very fulfilled in his life at the moment with the children.

I mostly feel tired, but happy too.

DS has started saying "Si" a lot - very cute, not always appropriately used.

lwfhthevampireslayer · 30/12/2009 22:17

Oh and did I ever mention, as we are talking about porn, that I only heard of pregnancy porn because someone mentioned it here. What useful things I have learned.

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 30/12/2009 22:26

Mansteak's present arrived today; noisy plastic tatt zoo and squishy leopard for DD, chocies for me.

And had a decent phonecall without any huffing and puffing from either of us. So things might be settling a bit.

I've never liked TV's in bedrooms, much prefer to make a nest in the sitting room so that you can fall asleep infront of TV and not worry.
Bedrooms are for sleeping and misbehaving in.

DDs not so much with the words, though she does an excellent line in "oh dear!" and a million variations of "oh!"
She calls my mum "ma" as well as me, well she is a ma too isn't she?

cyteen · 30/12/2009 22:29

steak I'm with you on the tv/bedroom thing. Also try and keep it clear of baby stuff as far as possible, just to maintain some semblance of parental haven. Glad to hear mansteak came through at the last - here's to onward and upward in 2010

DS is also still not saying anything other than 'nuh', 'dat' and 'oh dear!' He is still able to direct us to what he wants [pushovers]

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 30/12/2009 22:30

Mind you I told someone that DD was saying "mais non" when they asked what she was saying. It was really "mmun numm mun numm" and they were all "oh she speaks French already "

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 30/12/2009 22:31

DD relies mostly on pointing and wailing until I locate the correct toy/drink/cuddle [bigger pushover]

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 30/12/2009 22:32

I think that's me for my bed. Night ladies, hope it is a peaceful one.

TwilightSurfer · 31/12/2009 01:18

I needed a good laugh. Thanks.

The very gay salesman at the department store today told DH, after I walked off, that I should learn to smile otherwise my face my freeze that way. That way being in a disgruntled frown as that salesman gets on my every lasting nerve every time we go in that store. WTF! The way that guy is with the customers leads me to believe he's not gotten squat in years. HUFF!

Reese is up. It's 8:15p. She's never up this late. Every time she attempted to nap today she was roused within 20 minutes for one reason or another. She's also fussed, cried, yelled for over an hour. However, being freed from her bed and left to play with her sisters toys she's perfectly fine. Runny nose hit her this morning. I'm wondering if we aren't seeing those dreaded MMR side effects kicking in.

My kitchen is a complete disaster. Glad it's not me having guest tomorrow. Now watch folks show up unannounced.

Grumble Grumble Grumble...just trying to get it all out so I can start the new year pleasantly.

More from me in a few hours.
