I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

I am very of all this bedroom talk Think we need a telly and DVD player in our bedroom...

Rough night with both DC up at some point, poor DS still suffering with a nasty cold, still they are playing nicely now, apart from the fact that DD is trying to teach DS to say poo poo

SazzlesOnASled · 30/12/2009 11:19

Hots, the DD's are playing beautifully here today too. They have just been running round the kitchen with ice cream tubs on their heads with DD1 pronouncing that they are robots . DD2 keeps giggling uncontrollably at everything DD1 does (mainly destructive )

Dh gone shopping with DD2 and i am tasked with a toy clearout. I have decided to remove 10-15 to a bag and see if they are missed. If not, then to the charity shop they will go. After that i may also tackle the dresser in the kitchen - please call out a search party if i am not back by tonight as i may have suffocated under a mountain paperwork and crap

TwilightSurfer · 30/12/2009 13:35

I've been doing a clearout of random areas, closets, drawers too. And second HP on the need for a tv and dvd in the bedroom. We've been known to hang out in there with our laptops and watch tv on them. Not really as nice as flipping channels though.

I feel sooooooo much better today. I just need a shower.

Both girls have been sleeping in and playing nicely together here too. Reese slightly wakes missing her pacey during the night but once it's found she dozes back off. I'm almost dreading school's restart because we're on a nice schedule (for me) right now.

Much to do and very little time to do it. Less than two days before this year is HISTORY!!

Let's try this again ON THE CORRECT THREAD!
Buckets have you seen this video of the little boy playing the uke on the internet?

My goodness was it less than a year ago we had our Bristol and London meetups? Seems soooo long ago, us having portable babies like that.

Hotter how funny at your flapping and how much you've changed, your RL friends and family must be really proud of you. We have a cheapy tv with built-in dvd player and freeview in our room, useful for sending a poorly child off for peace and quiet and chance of nodding off. Tis also my favourite place to watch tv.

TS have had quinoa and 3 migraines this week actually. Tis v easy though, I just boil it with rice for 15mins and serve the mixture. Even DD will eat it (9 times out of 10).

Had last visit from cleaner today, she offered to do her 3hrs for a tenner - told you, she LOVES me!. I laughed and said no thanks but we will def hire her to come feed pets and clean whenever we go away and before parties etc.

What canapes can I make with smoked salmon and cream cheese without going out for more ingredients? I have everything required to make sushi rolls actually but am tiny bit at my ability to get off my arse Friday morning and do it.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 30/12/2009 14:05

TS That's soooo cute! See how easy it is, y'all should get one off Ebay right now for your NY resolution.

On a ukey note, have you seen my best beloved on stage on my FB profile? He's the one with the undone bow tie by the drummer.

lwfhthevampireslayer · 30/12/2009 14:44

yawn. only 7 hours 45 minutes til I can go to bed.

TwilightSurfer · 30/12/2009 14:53

LWFH, you must be very weary these days. You don't even realize you're still wearing your Halloween costume. LOL!

Buckets interesting about the quinoa. I'm going to look for some today. I imagine my household will turn their nose up at it.

Oh bless him VG, how lovely . However i fear a name change may be in order if you are ever in need of posting in the 'parenting' topic

Just been out taking DD1 swimming (again), her request and i'd rather do that than plonk her in front of a DVD (her other favourite request). I also got to have a swim too as the creche were empty

Managed a toy cull (large bag), rearranged a toy cupboard and the saucepan cupboard but bored myself before getting on to the dresser . Cleaner did a no show today which is an arse as i have 13 for dinner tomorrow and would prefer it to look like the place is kept clean. Have asked her to come tomorrow instead . No reply to text as yet...........

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/12/2009 17:27

Well all the tidying things has finally got to me, I have tidied and sorted DD's clothing drawers out and discovered just how little she really has then I sorted mine too and put in the charity box a whole heap of things I haven't worn in years and things I look at and thing 'why the hell did I buy that?' Next are the toys - getting things back in the right boxes and places. We have decided to move DD into a new room once we get back from Oz, so will need some advice from you experienced folks about whether to move her to a big bed or leave her in a cot and get another for the baby. (cost not an issue but my DD's sleep is)

Ladies I think you're all fab too Thanks for lovely new thread TS, and I'm glad you are feeling better.

lol at Steaky 'casting her wimple' that's a new one on me!

hotpot my memory is shite - I would never have known you didn't join us til after the babes were born!!

sazz are you getting any more snow to enable your sledding trip? We have rain atm but some snow forecast for later.

Poor old ds1, we went to watch planet 51 this afternoon, and it was sold out! we still bought popcorn though, so managed to avoid tears. Poor poppet was devastated. Mind you, if thats all in his life that devastates him then I'm happy .

O and I now recovered pretty much. It took me 2 hours to wrestle convince him it was time to sleep yesterday bedtime .

cyteen · 30/12/2009 17:58

It is exactly two years today since I found out I was expecting the little monster currently blowing raspberries in the kitchen so the milkybars are on me tonight. DP has been sent to the shop for WINE. DS is having mince pies for dinner until DP returns from shop with some baked beans (as well as wine).

Had monkey nightmare today - Mothercare seem to have discontinued it! None online or on eBay. A new rule has thus been enacted, no taking monkey out of the house.

VG - that can't be true you must have your dates confused

CaptainCaveman · 30/12/2009 20:10

Surely we are all still pg, non? Please join me in my state of denial!!

CaptainCaveman · 30/12/2009 20:12

cyteen Hi-5 for your 2 yr celebration

How the frig can these children be approaching 18 months old already?????

I better go and put Tom to bed, having left him downstairs watching tv on his own whilst I mn

SazzlesOnASled · 30/12/2009 20:30

VG - DH is indeed doing the cheffing . Hopefully there will be 5 children in bed and 8 adults enjoying the nosh

One couple are bringing starter, one doing champagne sorbet, DH is doing lamb with pak choi, peas and eucalyptus foam [show off], another couple dessert and we are all bringing 2 regional cheeses per couple. Champagne being brought from France and our friend who had a 40th this year. Oh and we are all making crackers (much nicer than shop bought)

I will be the one waddling back into the thread in 2010 after that lot

dizzycringles · 30/12/2009 20:35

No1 hope you're doing ok

VG was laughing at your snorts, the VG goodies is lovely

LWFH hope you're not too tired with lovely M feel free to allow us to gush over her

CC I certainly still look like am pregnant [fmeep]

and as for all the bedroom chatter - DH and I use that room for entertainment other than the TV/laptop etc (even though I have one in there for when he's late/night shift) - come on ladies, turn off the electric goods - unless they can join in

hots am glad my hummingbird cakes lured you out, I can't believe that was when you joined in, it feels like you've been here forever - in a nice way

sazz - enough with the cleaning already!!!! you're showing me up I'm off work till the 14th Jan after tomorrow so could you please bully encourage me to get on with our house too.

oops I'd personally move her with her cot just now to keep something familiar - am a great believer in keeping them in a cot as long as possible HOWEVER don't be buying a new one, once Hector is here and has done his stint in the moses basket, P will be settled in her lovely new room and then you can get her a big girls bed then

poppy I phoned and have arranged a meeting for Monday for the rest of you that is me finally getting round to phoning the girl who replied to my mother's help ad on gumtree luckily for me she seems V pleasant along with being V patient as I told her I'd phone her last week

ladies would love to stay & natter however DC only just in bed, DH at work and I'm early shift in morning so I'd better go and do something about it - finding my work pass would be a good start - Sazz, have you seen it in one of your dresser drawers love? its as likely to be in there as in my kitchen oh and btw if David DH is cooking tomorrow night (obviously all Scottish dishes!) I'll be down about 8pm once the girls are in bed
