belgina do it do it do it do it

and skinny navy white and red check trousers? Really?

REALLY?

REALLY?

cherrytom · 12/01/2010 18:29

I used to have some skin tight flares with big tie-dyed circles on the bottoms - it was a 90's grunge thing, I was also very fond of nightie style baby doll dresses worn with Doc Martens a la Courtney Love. I did have a figure like two sticks stuck together then though

belgina You should plan a night out now that you know C will take a bottle

pula 6 babies sounds fun but chaotic- hope you had a peaceful afternoon

belgina · 12/01/2010 18:47

I did it DID IT DID IT and the result were choc chip fairy cakes. They were yum. Dd1 said she wanted another one because they were delicious and C enjoyed sucking the paper cup

Yes, really, grumpy Luckily there's no photographic evidence of them I wore them with chunky boots, bit like rip off dm's, but with heels

Yay, finally a positive reply from a potential ap today. I hope she's nice once I got to interview her properly

Reggiee · 12/01/2010 18:48

HElllllllllooooooooooo

Well, not quite, but I have now had two glasses of bubbles. Thank you all for your birthday greetinshhhhhhh. I wuv youu .

Llare sorry but lol at you getting ready for your course today. Obviously a practise run for Thursday.

Loobs how did you get on this afternoon? I had a colposcopy once and the amusing thing for me was being able to watch everything going on on a tv screen. Although when I saw a needle being insert to my cervix via the tv instead of the consultant actually telling me he was about to give me a local...

Belgina mmm...cake..... I've just had a slice of Colin the Caterpillar courtesy of M&S. Nom nom.

Tum well done on the weight loss. That's really impressive, The batteries in our scales have gone and I've not got round to replacing them and not sure I want to.

Flip hope it's nice having dh back despite pestering!

Running I am now being treated to DJ Hero. Sadly dh is not quite as good at that as Guitar Hero.

Cherry whoop whoop congrats! Well done! When do you start?

Reet. Need to go and order my birthday takeaway tea and converse with dh.

Oh, meant to say I won a MN competition. Runners up prize of a camera (going to be dd's Xmas pressie!) and stationery. Hurrah for MN!

Looking forward to seeing Momi, pula and grumpy tomorrow. 'specially Grumps in her pvc troussers .

Loobylou36 · 12/01/2010 18:52

evening

pula 6 babies sounds noisy

M enjoyed her hour at nursery, think it tired her out tho, certainly gave her an appetite anyway - she ate a whole jar of HIPP pasta with tomato sauce.

Had my colposcopy appointment at the hospital, didn't have to have the LEEP but had to have several punch biopsies done instead - so v.sore at the moment. Will find out more in 3-4 wks.

Loobylou36 · 12/01/2010 18:54

oh reggie Happy Birthday!

I'm going to have a glass of wine tonight - think I deserve one.

Loobylou36 · 12/01/2010 18:59

meant to ask - has anyone tried their LO's on anything slightly spicy yet?

Have tried M on homemade tarka dhal tonight and she loved it. It was mild but tasty. Don't know what effect it will have on her nappy tho.

runningmonkey · 12/01/2010 19:07

Lol at the fashion discussion. My outfit of choice aged about 14-18 was DMs, thick black tights, flowery shorts and a band t-shirt. Classy.

Reg Happy birthday.

pula sounds like a hectic morning. I've got 4 babies and their Mums coming around on Thurs pm. Not sure where all the prams are going to go!

looby glad M enjoyed nursery. Hope the soreness goes soon. A has had veg curry and spicy pasta sauce and loved it.

cherrytom congrats on the job

Got to go, A is grumbling about something.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 12/01/2010 19:09

Ooooh Loobs S had curry t'other night. She loved it, but the resultant nappy was grim.

Happy Birthday dearest Reginald

HeadlessLadyH · 12/01/2010 19:13

reggiee Happy Birthday lady. ANother glass of bubbly??

cherry congrats on your new job. SOunds great. A promotion eh? Clever lady!

grumpy and belgina LOL at the trousers! I also had a pair of satin ones. Nay, a satin SUIT no less in the mid 90s. I shudder to think about it now. I have also kept a satin slip dress that I used to wear with a short sleeve t shirt under neath, a la Monica and Rachel in Friends. I thought i looked sooooooo cool.

looby go get that glass of wine. It sounds like you need it as a pain killer?

momi pula grumpy and reggiee enjoy your meet up tomorrow.Am of you all getting together.

tum congrats on th weightloss from here too. How long will you be on Slimfast for?

Am off out in a min Pilates. Can't wait for a child free hour! Its been like being in the midst of tornado here this afternoon. Have had one of DS1s pals again as his parents are at work and can't get out for the early finish at school. DS1 on the naughty step twice, he was such a tinker. Hes on much better form and has just whispered in my ear "Don't tell Daddy I've been naughty", and then prompty gone to DH and said "I haven't been naughty". PMSL. He's make such a crap criminal!

Right, better go.......see you all later.

pulapula · 12/01/2010 19:41

Hello ladies,

I am looking forward to our meetup tomorrow momi reggiee and grumpy but i am starting to feel a little anxious about S at nursery when i am an hours drive away, as it will be a long day for him, AND he had his swine flu jab today AND he only really calms with me atm (not even DH) . But DH can always pick him up early if necessary [brave face emoticon].

looby- that seems like quite a wait for results- hope you can take your mind of it in the meantime.

llareggub · 12/01/2010 19:45

Tummum wow, well done on the weight loss. I've never been able to stomach Slimfast and I don't think I've the willpower really. How has work been this week?

Looby DS2 has had quite a few spicy things. I make a goulash which has lots of smoky paprika. He's also had spicy pumpkin soup but that didn't go done well; like me he has a mild allergy to red chillis when they touch the skin. He's had a mild curry too. Give it a whirl. DS1 and his little NCT pals have been munching on curries since we took them for a curry on their 1st birthday. The poppadums are their favourite things!

Reggiee Happy birthday and well done for winning the competition.

Belgina pass the cakes please! I read Dan Brown's new book over christmas at my father's and yes, it is absolute tosh but I loved it and couldn't put it down. I like reading crap over classics at the moment.

Momino I've had another think about the chest pain and I mentioned the spare rib story to DH. He reminded me that I was in agony a while ago because of the way I used to sit and breastfeed while using my laptop. I could barely move the pain was so bad and it took us ages to work out that it was my posture.

Grumpy so sorry to hear about your father. My FIL had it too. He made a full recovery but doesn't like to talk about it at all. I think he is a bit embarrassed.

Ses re mixed feeding; I fed DS1 in that way for nearly 3 years. I found that the cartons didn't really impact on supply. I worked full-time and found that while I was away from him he wasn't overly bothered about feeding and had his fill when my boobs I returned from work. I used cartons as a top-up or to replace me. I never really bothered expressing to give EBM. I haven't done it with DS2 because my maternity leave is a lot longer than the first one and I expect that when I go back to work at the beginning of April he won't drink any formula milk, he'll just wait for me.

cheerytom congratulations on the new job! Great news!

DS2 had a great morning nap; 2 hours! I couldn't believe it. He never sleeps that long. I am hoping great things are in store tonight sleep-wise. We're due a change from this rubbish sleep pattern.

We're looking at a new school for DS1 on Friday. We've become a little unhappy with his pre-school but I've reached the conclusion that it is time to move on. I looked at the nursery at our local school today and didn't like it much; it doesn't have toilets for the children to use and they have to ask a teacher to take them next door to the school, which leaves the remaining children with one less keyworker. I saw this happen today and the keyworker who was left behind had around 15 children while the other showed me around. I wasn't impressed at all with the set-up. So I'm not sure what to do now!

Tummum · 12/01/2010 19:51

Evening

Reggiee Happy Birthday

Llare whoops

Loobs glad it's all over and DH was able to help out. Good news that M was happy at nursery too

Cherry well done you

Grumps Hahahaha at PVC ! I have never had the build to wear PVC or satin trews. Hence the large weight loss last week 'cos I have a lot to lose.

Belgina should we call you Nige-ina following baking of yummy cakes.

Sh1t day at work again. Sigh. At least it's making me realise I don't want to continue. I hate it. So dull. The work is pretty difficult/complex too, so stressful. But dull. Hey ho. Only 12 months to go, apparently. Humph. And I can't even have a glass of wine to improve my mood either. AF here too, which really made my day. . I think I need to not think about work anymore as it's getting (guess what I am going to say......) DULL !

belgina · 12/01/2010 20:03

tummum Is that 12m or 12weeks or work left to go?

Just a teeny weeny rant now. The dcs wanted to watch an on demand film and DH said yes as long as I can watch it too so it's got to be a family film... He then proceeded to choose... TERMINATOR II!!!!!!!!!!! That's NOT a family film in my book. And that right at bedtime Honestly Sometimes he just doesn't seem to have common sense when it comes to children.

Reggie Happy b'day. Hmmm I'd love some bubbly. I'm sure that would go nicely with my cakes Also great news about winning the comp. What a great price to win

@ at the grumps/momi/reggie/pula meet up. I wish I had someone to meet up with near me

spicy food C's been enjoying some strongish flavours. I'm sure she's had some of my korma or tikka masala the other week.

Right better go and put C to bed now while DH sorts the other 2. She had a late nap and so now she's still awake. The longest ever I think!

Tummum · 12/01/2010 20:09

Belgina - that's 12 months unfortunately. Need to save up

[Angry] and at Terminator II. He had the right idea about watching it too

Tummum · 12/01/2010 20:11

sorry, pressed post too quickly. I meant he had the right idea to police the watching but wrong execution of type of film.

Loobylou36 · 12/01/2010 20:12

llare I'm looking forward to taking M for her first trip to our fav curry house my DSD loves it there and we've been taking her there for the last 5yrs (still can't get her on anything but a korma tho). Thought M would be fine if we were to go early and take the high chair, we could take her food with us and she could just have a taste of nan bread, rice and perhaps a bit of her sister's korma sauce?

grumps pvc - blimey! I was more of a Goth in my teenage years (possibly due to going to Art College). Jet black crimped hair (was a lot longer then), pointy boots, etc.

essenceofSES · 12/01/2010 20:42

Hello all!

Reggiee - sorry it's late but happy birthday! I must go and get myself a bottle glass of wine and clink glasses with you

Tummum - sorry for rubbish day at work. 12 months to go? Is that until you can pack it in?

cherrytom - that's great new on the job. Well done!

Headless - pilates sounds good. I did some whilst pg and enjoyed it in a funny sort of way! (I normally hate any type of exercise or sport other than the armchair spectator kind!)

Looby - bet you're pleased to have today over and done with. Sounds like it went well for M at nursery. Fingers crossed for your results.

Running and Llareggub - thanks for sharing your experiences. Part of me's really tempted to just stop expressing and use cartons whenever I need to but part of me feels it's a big step that I'm not sure I'm ready to take. I probably just need to do it!

All those meeting up tomorrow, have fun and take some piccies

DH and I have been talking about getting a puppy. Lucy seems all lonely without Jessie even though I'm around most of the time. When I go back to work at the end of Feb, she'll hate it. We've had a look at the Kennel Club website and there's some Springer Spaniel puppies on there we might go and look at. Seems quite soon as Jessie's only been gone less than a week but it makes sense to act now in order to have a puppy settled for my return to work.

Ladies

A new thread as shiny as Headless's's's's satin suit and my PVC trews

essenceofSES · 12/01/2010 20:46

Sorry x-posted with a few as ate dinner in the middle of my post!

Belgina - I'd definitely not class Terminator as a "family film"
As for meeting up, maybe one day I'll head over your way and reminisce over my visits to Bethersden. We used to go to a pub in your village... The Sm*** Bell. Is it still there?
