Cherry Yes its fruity and made with tea and mixed spice. I've had a slice straight from the oven and its lovely.

cherrytom · 09/01/2010 21:21

mmmmmmm

Reggiee · 09/01/2010 22:12

Evening all sounds like it could be stress. I recognise the mummmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Sigh. And the "why" 1000>. We have a new one too - foot stamping.
.

Grumpy hope you are having a great night out.

Llare ta for asking about work. First day was just surreal. Very strange, but then most people weren't in due to the weather. Day two was much better.
B was very up and down on day 1 at nursery, but by the end of the week he seemed very settled.

Still can't get over how quickly the lo's are changing. No crawling or pulling up here; still quite fussy about food prefering to feed himself; quite loud enjoying shrieking and shouting; and very very cuddly - ahhhh . He's just learnt to clap and seems very proud of that.

Oh, it appears I've got to go and listen to dh serenading me with 'You give love a bad name' on Guitar Hero .....

FiByTheIcySea · 09/01/2010 22:45

reebee sorry about your grotty start to the year. i hope next week is much much better.

febes yay on R & DD sleeping fingers crossed tonight is good too.

belgina you can send a bit more snow this way.. ours is starting to melt already in parts of the garden.. and our snowman needs snow arms!

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 09/01/2010 22:54

Evening! Just a quickie, I've been sat here waiting for A to wake up, but she hasn't yet...

momino - I totally know what you mean about the whining, DD1 seems to have lost the ability to ask normal questions or have normal conversations, and almost everything is a whine. No advice about the chest pain though. Have you been back for a second opinion?

fi - good news about your potential buyer. Fingers crossed!

reebee - hello! lot of stuff there, sorry to hear about your dog, the toilet, being stuck. Hope things improve!

belgina - I'd be furious about the knocking!

grumpy - hope your evening is good. And thank you for the hugs, I like hugs. And cake.

We've had more snow here today, but not loads. It's just absolutely freezing here, so icy everywhere.

DH should be coming home tomorrow! His flight is supposed to land at Heathrow tomorrow afternoon, but I don't if the weather is messing things up yet.

The girls and I are going out for lunch tomorrow with my lovely friend, her DH is working all weekend so she's on her own too. We made a chocolate and banana loaf this afternoon, smells good, I'll tell you how it tastes another time though - it's my variation of a recipe I've never used before so I've got no idea what it'll be like!

Just realised I still haven't sorted my name out.

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 09/01/2010 23:02

oh, and reggiee - hope the serenading improved stopped

FiByTheIcySea · 09/01/2010 23:03

reggie well done B on the clapping! hope work was good even if it was strange.. so how was your serenade?

Mominohoho · 09/01/2010 23:27

reebee, so sorry about your week. I hope things get sorted for you and hope the glass of wine tasted lovely. you deserve a break.

reggiee, can't believe you're back at work. time does fly, doesn't it? how cute, B clapping. i can't wait for H to clap (just don't want her to crawl. or walk. or move so I have to watch her every moment!).

ses, how you feeling today? hope you're ok.

flippin, I haven't sorted my name either. hope your DH's flight comes in safely and on time!

cherrytom, have fun babyproofing! I don't think we ever baby proofed our house even from dd1 . our house has always and will prob always be an ongoing decorating project with lots of empty paint cans, sharp objects, ladders... things that would be enticing for a baby/toddler...

chest pains - gone away this evening but yes, i'll try to get a 2nd opinion. i think i'm fighting off some kind of chest infection. dd2&3 have had chesty things for a few weeks now. also noticed i tense up my neck and chest muscles. and i've been pushing a heavy P&T through snow at high speed. it's probably a combination of stress and running myself down, body just catching up now.

speaking of running down, am off to get some sleep. hope all are dreaming sweet dreams and hope grumpy went out and had a great time (twisting her arm!).

belgina · 10/01/2010 08:13

Morning all,

Hmm, seems like C has kindly started a new routine of early mornings . Everyone is still in bed, even the other dcs are still fast asleep On top of the early start she reverted to the 2h waking last night, but I didn't do a double dreamfeed because of being tired and going to bed early. Will try the double dream feed again tonight and see if it's really that that made the difference.

ses How amazing! You're right, Bethersden is right by us!

flippin Hurray about your DH coming home. Hopefully you'll feel a bit better once you've got company again Hope you're enjoying the banana bread. It sounds tasty

reggie Hope your dh's serenading wasn't too painful. I didn't realise you were another one back at work. Hope you're getting back into the swing of things easily.

fi Hope you get news from your potential buyer soon.

Seems like our snow has been melting a little overnight. There's less snow now then when I went to bed. It's making me a teeny weeny bit But I'm pretty sure more was forecast for today.

I'm very glad we don't have to baby proof the house yet, but I'm trying to train the other 2 about not leaving small/precious toys lying about, because once C's on the move she'll get her hands on them. The small toys are dangerous and the precious ones can be destroyed!

C's now playing with a toy that dd1 never looked at. It's so interesting to see how each and every one of my babies were so different. None of them look twice at toys that were the other's favourite, but enjoy ones that their siblings didn't find remotely interested.

Mominohoho · 10/01/2010 08:35

Belgina, seems milder here today as well. heard we may get more snow though, so don't be .

have the DC's woken up yet? we're all up and ready to go.

hope everyone has a good day.

FiByTheIcySea · 10/01/2010 09:13

worst. night. ever. so. very. tired.

i was up late and ended up dream feeding G at 11.30pm just as I was nodding off to sleep in bed G starts making choking noises. Dashed into her room.. picked her up and VOM. changed her.. b fed again and got back to bed just before 1am. Phew i thought bed at last. BUT it got worse.. G woke up crying, screaming and writhing around at 2.30am 3.30am 4.30am 5.30am wasn't hungry till 5.30am. Not even the calpol at 3.30am could settle her for long. I think it initially was/is her top middle teeth. With all the crying i think it then became wind also. i had to sit up with her in the lounge in the end as it was only way she'd stop crying. ds got up at 6.45am and dh kept him playing quietly as G and i nodded off about 7am for an hour. she's all smiles and giggles atm as if last night was a dream

snowing here again.. but only lightly.

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 10/01/2010 09:29

Morning all!

We've been up since 6:30 today. A had woken at about 5 for a feed, but taken a while to settle again, but DD1 woke her up when she started shouting. DD1 is in a bed, not a cot, but when she wakes up she won't get up quietly, she lies there and shouts until somebody goes in to her!

Some of our snow seems to have melted overnight too, but it's just started snowing heavily again so I guess it's not going anywhere. I keep checking the status of DH's flight, looks like he's in the air!

I really ought to get dressed, we need to get out of the house at 11 to get to my friend's!

Hope yo all have nice peaceful days.

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 10/01/2010 09:32

fi - sorry to hear about your rubbish night, hope things calm and peaceful today.

febes · 10/01/2010 09:42

Fi Oh no! I hope you can sleep a bit today. Its funny how DCs can be up in pain in the night but seem fine in the morning .

My two slept ok. R woke for a dreamfeed at 10.30 and then woke again at 4 had a feed but didn't really resettle so he came into our bed at 4.30 and had to be changed as he had done a big poo. He fell back asleep for a bit but DH and I didn't get much sleep after 4am. DD woke up at 7.30 and sat up in bed and called out. I wonder if she realises that she can get up? Hope we continue to get good nights like this....

febes · 10/01/2010 09:43

Flip at x post about DD shouting out in bed.

llareggub · 10/01/2010 09:59

I spent aaaaaaaaages last night writing a really long post. You all had a mention! But it has gone and I have no idea where it is.

ANyway. Still have cabin fever.

In desperation I am SPRING-CLEANING.

FiByTheIcySea · 10/01/2010 10:46

morning febes flippin momino belgina..and everyone else who's posted since I last hit refresh!

we have been picking up ds's toys off the floor since G started crawling as she makes a beeline straight for them. Oh and trying to dissuade her from sucking/chomping the table and chair legs oh and her absolute all time favourite.. shoes!

flippin hope your dh lands ok

FiByTheIcySea · 10/01/2010 12:17

flippin it took ds a couple of weeks before he sussed he could get out of bed on his own.. then the constant putting him back in started for a few weeks after

llare we've resorted to baking etc.. watched hairy bikers earlier this week and have been keen to do aidas empire biscuits as they are dh's favourites and been tinkering with my recipe for them for a looong time. Also made some vanilla infused milk/double cream to make egg custard later.

still snowing lightly here

llareggub · 10/01/2010 13:07

Ooooh sound lovely Fi. I'm doing apple crumble as soon as DH gets back from the supermarket. Great news about the flat. Fingers crossed that it is a good offer.

I'm on a course next Tuesday which I signed up for in a fit of motivation and now I fear that a week of snow has depleted my energy reserves. Whilst I have cabin fever I am sooooooo lacking in energy now. The course is on website planning and is for women setting up businesses. Hopefully it should be good; I know nothing about website planning or design! I want to get started on working with DH on the business but have to go back to real work to to decide which I want to do. So I'm starting back next month (on annual leave) so looking forward to getting some money at the end of February.

Right. Back to the cleaning. As I have nothing else to do I am "spring" cleaning upstairs and it looks so much better. It was such a state as I usually start cleaning downstairs and never get past our stairs to do upstairs! It looks so much better.

pulapula · 10/01/2010 13:12

flippin- DD went into a bed at 2.6 and didn't get out of bed until she was 4+. Think it was because her room was pitch black so she didn't want to . DS1 started getting out of his bed quite early on (at nap time), but still waits in bed in the morning for us to get him up.

fi- I am worried about S starting to crawl as he loves cables, string, wires etc. Nightmare! He also loves chewing on anything hard too, and finding fluff on the carpet.

I was just wondering if any other babies weren't babbling yet (mama, dada, etc). S can make what i call vowel sounds (a, oh, eh, ih, uh) but that's it, apart from lots of raspberry blowing.

I think my PIL are still in about how loud S is. They babysat for us last night (DH and I went out for a meal to celebrate my birthday which is today), and he woke at 8.50 and we got home at 9.30 to find them in the lounge with him (eyes wide open whilst being rocked on his granny's shoulder). They brought him down as they were worried he'd wake up the other 2 (they have just learnt to ignore him ) and even today they can't stop saying about how loud he was.

llareggub · 10/01/2010 14:34

Happy birthday Pula!

DS2 has just started babbling in the last 2 weeks or so.

I think the snow is starting to thaw...

belgina · 10/01/2010 17:26

Happy birthday pula!!!! babbling C's not really doing baba, but in the last week she started making bvoobvoo-ish sounding sounds (They're actually dutch sounding sounds, our "uu" sound, which doesn't exist in Dutch) and something that sounds a bit like ljalja and vowel sounds. Other than that she likes doing things with her tongue rolling it about and things and playing with the pitch and tone of her voice, I'm sure that must be pre-language excercise for babies too!

llare Even though you don't feel like going on that course today, I'm sure once there it'll make you feel motivated to do something about work/starting a business. These sort of courses always have that effect IMO.

fi Poor you. I hope you've managed to catch up on sleep a little today.

I've had a baking day today. I made 2 loaves of bread because the shops are closed in the village on a Sunday and the other shops are out of reach due to the snow. The one loaf wasn't completely baked I noticed when slicing, which is odd, because they both had the same amount of time in the oven. Now I've just finished blotted's jaffa cake cake cake that everyone was raving about before our babies arrived. I've always wanted to make one and finally got round to it

Now C's got 5 teeth bf is really starting to get uncomfortable. She doesn't bite, but the suction makes her teeth sink in a little and that's so uncomfortable. I only seem to have it on my right side though, so I'm thinking it might be a latch problem. I'm working at it, but it doesn't seem to get all that much better.

Oooh, ominous nappy sounds. Better go...

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/01/2010 17:40

No. Not really! I don?t have a hangover, I didn?t drink too much.

reg a ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha to the Guitar hero, made me snigger. I?m dying to have a go on it, I would be really excellent, given my ROCK youth.

Invites Momi to relax on couch. Takes out notebook. Peers over half-moon glasses and strokes beard. ?So, tell me your problems?. I would say stress, I am suffering from horrendously aching joints (I got this after DD2). However, if you get breathless/sweating/nausea, go see your Doc ? could be gallstones (I have them ? nasty things and cause pain akin to heart attack, according to my GP). IKWYM. And go on, have a hug??.

We did have a good evening, of course, ended up drinking Grey Goose Vodka at £6 a go though . Met up with my brother, which is always excellent.

S woke up at 12.15am and my mum had to get up and watch the cricket until 03.15 apparently to get her back off to sleep . Then DD2 woke up at 06.30. My poor mum . She did insist that she must have them all again soon, though. She is mad.

Back shortly, off to make greasy fry-up for tea???

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/01/2010 17:47

Half my post disappeared. The beginning is there and the end but the middle has gone.

I'm watching the darts. I love darts
