firelight your poor ds - hope he gets well soon

Loobylou36 · 11/12/2009 23:02

note to self: stop googling severe dysplasia

I'm off to bed

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 11/12/2009 23:18

me too.. night looby

muddleddaizy · 12/12/2009 05:52

Morning ladies, at least I think it is. I'm so tired. 3 mornings of 3.30am starts and a very disturbed sleep last night, I'm shattered!

Looby Sorry to hear about your abnormal smear. When's your appt? Try not to google - easier said than done though. Glad your Nan's funeral went well.

Who said Christmas cards?!? I've spent the entire week in with sick children and have done as much internet shopping as poss. Now I need to hit the proper shops. I tell a lie - Tesco cancelled my food shopping this week so cue my staggering round Sainsburys trying not to vomit the other night.

Flippin I had a bad day with ds1 yesterday and the only respite I got was when we walked up to the garden at the top of the road!

Reebee good to see you back, I think I'd be stressed too. Hope things get easier for
you!

I went to get ds2 out of the cot this am and he was sitting up!!!!!!. Don't know what was going on there!

Fi Hope you all continue to get better. Eyedrops and small children is a real PITA, I remember! I used to try and do it when ds1 was asleep, but then it would freak him out and wake him up!

Momi cake sounds great, hope the party goes well today.

Got to go, Hi to those I've not namechecked

Febesisachristmascracker · 12/12/2009 08:10

Hi (bleary)
Really bad night here last night. I went to bed at 9.45 as I was so tired and luckily managed to get straight to sleep.
DD and DS both woke screaming at 11. I bought both them in bed with me as DH was at work and feed R and we all must have gone back to sleep. DH got home at 1 and put DD back in her cot and I found R sleeping on his tummy next to me . I put him back in his cot but he woke up so I fed him. Then he woke at 4 so I fed him thinking he would go through till 7 or 8.

Then he woke at 5.30 and then DD woke up so we had both in bed and DH had to get up again at 6.20 for work. I tried to get both to lie still and quiet and R finally fell back to sleep at 7.30 so DD and I came downstairs. Its going to be a looooooooooong day.

Reebee Sounds like you are very busy!! Maybe its moths eating things in the cupboard??

Muddled Sorry you are lacking sleep too.

Flippin I love beetroot. Its like my favourite thing ever!!

Looby Sorry you have had such a lot to cope with lately. M sounds like she is doing really well though. Whats happening with you mum now? Does she come home tomorrow?

Firelight Glad DSs eyes are clearing up.

Morning everyone else.

Parumpumpumtumm · 12/12/2009 08:23

Morning ladies

I am so with DH. He did something last week that really let me down. When I found out I went ballistic, but we did manage to sit down and talk about it after I calmed down. It's his view that I overreacted but I don't think I did. I am so . I feel like I can't talk to him about it and can't talk to anyone else because all of our friends are mutual friends, and I don't want to drag them into our dirty washing IYKWIM. But I don't want to brood and take it on myself either. Maybe I should just forget it and move on but I am still hopping mad . Don't know what to do. Sorry for the vent.

Fi feeling your pain about eyedrops. G has conjunctivitis, and is not impressed with the drops. He screams when he sees the packet... Hope you and yours get better very soon.

Looby keep away from Google.... and too.

Momi hope party goes OK. And I agree with you about pre-school kids. I did find that DD1 got much much easier to deal with once she started school. I'm hoping the same thing happens with DD2 but I'm sure it probably won't, she has such a strong personality

Gotta go, DS calling....

Jinglebelgina · 12/12/2009 09:08

Morning all,

Lots of illnesses about I see. My sympathies because I myself have been thinking about taking shares out in Kleenex, I'm using that many tissues, lol.

broken nights Also sending out my sympathies to anyone having one of those. C had a dream feed at 10.30, then woke at 2 (didn't feed and straight back to sleep once I took her in bed with me), 4 (for feed), 6.30 and finally 7 for getting up time . I'm still convinced someone must have switched my perfect sleeper.

eye drops Ds used to get conjuctivitis regularly as a pre schooler and the only approach that worked in the end was the pin him down method. He would scream whatever we did and at least when I pinned him down it was done quickly

looby [hugs] Glad to hear the funeral is now over and it was a lovely service. I hope your colposcopy comes around soon and in the mean time try not to google (I know it's not easy )

The mebay sale went OK. Didn't sell as much as I'd hoped, but TBH most of it was summer stuff and so I'm thinking about doing it again in March/april when they'll run the event again. I did make a profit though, even taking into account the babysitter and price of the table.

Today is xmas tree day. The dcs are very excited!

Still in my pjs so better go now and give C a wash and get myself dressed too. We've got a party this afternoon too at a colleague of DH's, so looking forward to that.

muddleddaizy · 12/12/2009 20:41

It's very quiet today - am I the only one with no life? Dh is out tonight and instead of ironing or sorting out the laundry in my new tumble dryer - I'm playing about on the internet.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Parumpumpumtumm · 12/12/2009 21:02

Hi Muddled I'm here too, catching up with Xfactor on Sky+.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 12/12/2009 21:09

muddled I'm just sitting down after another marathon wrapping session while watching x factor.. another 6 parcels on behalf of my mum.. and last 3 for ds's pals. when ds is at pre school next week i'll wrap his and G's presents.

i'm actually feeling a bit better today yay! took ds & G into town to do a few errands this afternoon while dh was asleep in bed. it was good to get us out for a while in the fresh air.. and both G and ds were asleep by 7pm bonus!

essenceofSES · 12/12/2009 21:12

I'm lurking too.
Catching up on Farmville and Scrabble on FB and watching XFactor. Robbie and Olly's duet was awful

tumm - sorry for upset with DH. If it helps then feel free to offload.

muddled and Febes - sorry for poor nights. Fingers crossed for tonight.

Last night DH and I were both out at work dos so my cousin came to babysit. For the first time since last Sun, O decided he didn't want to sleep. He wouldn't take a bottle either for the first time ever. Bless her, my cousin was fab and rocked him to sleep in his car seat.
I think his top teeth are about to burst through so that's probably the cause.
So far tonight, he's been ok.

Today I had a few hours out at the hairdressers and had my highlights redone for the first time since April and had a load chopped off so I now have a "long bob" as opposed to "just hair hanging down that gets scraped back so it can't be pulled and chewed"
Whilst I was out did DH do anything? Tidy up after lunch? washing? ironing? get O's tea?
Of course not!

Mominohoho · 12/12/2009 21:16

ooooh, it is quiet today/tonight. Hi muddled and tumm and anyone else on here tonight.

just a quick note as we're having supper (late as usual) soon in front of 'miracle on 34th street. watched a bit of Xfactor but feel like a christmas film now insstead.

Hope all are well tonight.

Party went very well, thank you. It was fancy dress: dd1& 3 were angels and dd2 was a ladybird . One little girl choked on a grape and vomited on the food table but MIL quickly cleaned it up and little girl was ok (phew). dd1, to our great relief, left her tantrums at home and had great fun. it was lovely to see her so happy!

cake was very good, i was so proud of it. wish I had a pic of it but the only one we have was taken at a distance. the cake itself was moist and lovely, so glad I'd made a 2nd one after ruining the 1st attempt.

alright, hope the LO's sleep well tonight.

essenceofSES · 12/12/2009 21:17

Fi - glad you had a better day

Momi - well done on surviving the party

Febesisachristmascracker · 12/12/2009 21:17

I am so jealous of your haircut Ses I haven't had my cut since the 7th of May (day before my due date ) It's in a terrible state.

I'm lurking watching x factor too. Loved George M duet. Stacey has been awesome tonight but I think I like Ollie best (but didn't like his duet with Robbie).

Mominohoho · 12/12/2009 21:23

and febes !

I'm really going now, food has arrived!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 12/12/2009 21:26

ses you'll have to post photos of your posh hdo. my dh doesn't see anything that needs doing either.. just adds more cups and plates to it!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 12/12/2009 21:34

momino enjoy your dinner and glad you survived the party and the little girl that choked was ok.. must have been a bit scary. the cake sounded fabulous

febes i've got the dragged through a hedge backwards hair do atm.. really needs re layered and generally sorted.. so i've resorted to the scrape it back out of the way pony tail or bun 'do

essenceofSES · 12/12/2009 21:35

Momi - enjoy your food and your film

Fi - will maybe get a photo on FB tomorrow.
O had a cheese sandwich for lunch and there was one square left (plus the other BLW mess!) and DH did manage to remove the cheese from the left over bit and eat it but left everything else!

XFactor done for another evening then and DH has now put Strictly on!

Hi ladies, I've been lurking today but nothing interesting to post, apart from I think the dummy weaning is really working now. We can hear him cry out, but then he settles himself - previously we would cry til we put his dummy in for him. He also settles for his naps a lot quicker now, but still cries a bit .

momino- glad you survived the party, including the grape incident.

xfactor- I was hoping stacey and joe would go through so was when they announced Olly was through- not sure Olly and Robbie rehearsed their duet .

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 12/12/2009 22:03

pula i was sad to see who went on x factor too.. great news s's dummy weaning is working

muddleddaizy · 12/12/2009 22:08

Hi everyone, I went to do some ironing in the end! Still haven't really dented the pile. The house is starting to get to me, I just can't seem to keep it in a reasonable state, plus it looks like DH has been 'tidying' again. He goes off on his own mission sometimes and then we're in trouble as I can't find stuff then, I wish he would work with me [sigh]

Momi Glad the party went well, apart from the sick child!

Fi you are so organised and seem to get so much done, despite being ill!

Ses look forward to the pics of the new hairdo!

Right I must go to bed, I am soooo tired!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 12/12/2009 22:19

muddled my clean laundry pile is HUGE!!! but i've been ignoring it by closing the door on it she's still in with us due to dh being too poorly to take her cotbed apart and move/re build it in her room. i'm in no rush to move her though so quite delighted i can have her close by for a while longer yet.. think we'll move her in jan when we're all better.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 12/12/2009 22:30

re getting stuff done.. not managed to keep up with normal chores too well.. i'm struggling to push myself to write the xmas cards, you can draw pictures in the dust gathering on the window sills and mantlepiece and the washing basket still seems full even with the huge pile of clean stuff! Also still got rest of xmas decorations to put up that are sitting in a box on our lounge floor

Parumpumpumtumm · 12/12/2009 23:03

Momi glad the party went so well. It's lovely to see DC's enjoying their birthdays and feeling special

Muddled sympathies on ironing piles. With 3DCs mine just seems to refill the moment I get close to finishing them off. I invested in a supersteam iron a couple of weeks ago which is great for ironing, but rubbish for watching telly whilst ironing because it is so noisy !

Agree that Olly and Robbie were rubbish. I think Joe will win, but I think his voice is much better suited to musicals.

Ses looking fwd to seeing piccies of glam new 'do

Pula great news on sleep training. Recently G has decided he wants to scream at about 3am. I try to ignore him (horrible-mother-emoticon) but he has gotten himself so wound up I am ending up giving him a hug. After a couple of minutes I put him down and then he is straight back to sleep Cheeky monkey

Thanks for listening to my vent about DH. We've talked about it again and made some peace. Thank goodness. Men can be so pants sometimes (underestimation of the century....)

Fi so glad you are feeling better. I haven't even thought about Christmas cards yet . DH was complaining that I was being too planned and not spontaneous enough about Christmas, and that I should stop doing stuff on my own and we should be doing stuff together instead... so now absolutely nothing is happening and it will be a mad rush next week
