MrsSausagenmash · 23/11/2009 11:41

..... bleedin' nora, it's taking me AGES to read all these pages..... I'll be here soon....

MrsSausagenmash · 23/11/2009 12:07

Ok, here I am!

Gawd, it's all been happening with you all! I can't comment on everything so congrats, commiserations and hugs etc all round to everyone!

For anyone nosey - here are our professional wedding pics... now got to choose some... aaargh..

Pula - am also an auntie again - same day! 21st Nov, so my new little (as yet un-named) nephew is exactly 6 months younger than M. 7lb 15oz, at home, all fine, until the community midwife popped round yesterday afternoon and said he was grunting a bit... now in HDU on IVABs, O2, and had bloods done for cultures, and also a lumbar puncture. Poor little sausage. The mummy is the nice lady holding M a lot in all our pics.

Had a week in Spain at my parents apartment thingy to do loads of studying whilst my parents looked after M. Natch, my carry on luggage was all baby stuff - you know, nappies etc, so PhD stuff went into the hold. No probs. Until the easyjet f$ckers between Bristol and Malaga lost my bag. To say I was upset is an understatement. I was nearly hyperventilating at the complaints desk. Fortuntately, it has been found and is being delivered to me tomorrow - I HOPE - my deadline is a week tomorrow, so I have a week to finish it all. Gr! (also has the baby monitor in and my favourite jumper for M, my jeans, other clothes.......ggaaaah... good job my washbag and M's toys were in my parents bags..)

It's finally nice to be back home and not have to live out of a suitcase... my studying is actually nearly done and I'm so pissed off with it all now, that if I fail then, like, wha'evva. Harumf. Looking forward to Christmas... we've invited our parents but they haven't said yes or no definitely yet - mostly because of the dog. Hm. DH's parents want to get M a highchair - told Mum and she got all humfy because apparently they wanted to get M one!!! Anyway, we were going to get a cheapy IKEA one, but now that it's being bought for us can anyone recommend one? We are currently using the bumbo with the tray (soz Dandy!) which works a treat, but I want M to start sitting with us at the table. I don't know how yesterday, but she managed to take her trousers off. We have a travel cot put up in the lounge so she can roll around / caterpillar crawl to her heart's content whilst we do 'jobs' (am I a bad mummy here?) - anyway, we came in to see her trousers in the corner. DH said it was because they were pink velvet and a bit chavvy and that she had more taste than that, and that's why she took them off. Told him off for that, they are nice and cosy!

Oh and she has 2 teeth! Well, the top ridged-y bits! Didn't half make her wail on Saturday, she had 2 little red cheeks and was drooling everywhere. A dose of calpol worked a treat, and now they are hardly bothering her. Phew.

Going to have to go and get jobs done, bit Dandy am going to email you on fb.

Byee

Welcome back mrsauntiesausage!

Nightmare about the lost bag- not surprised you were fuming!

I couldn't help but sneak a peek at your 292 wedding photos. Beautiful photos, and what a beautiful baby you have created .

Got to go, S waking up.

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 15:01

welcome home mrsauntiesausage going to look at your photos when on laptop tonight. will keep fingers crossed about your bag.

warning mememe rant alert..
i'm having a hard day today.. i'm tired from the 4am finn & grace wake up and grace doesn't want to be put down for even a moment & finn needing & wanting help with everything & i just need 1min to myself with no noise/chatter/crying/whining/whinging & the lounge looks like toys r us & i want a hot cuppa tea & even a trip to the loo is no break as ds follows me in & grace crys as i've taken her out of the sling & the weather is awful & it's not bedtime yet!

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 15:06

oh and to top it all off my 1st attempt at bread sticks have come out of the oven looking more like bread sausages than sticks!!!

MrsSausagenmash · 23/11/2009 16:10

Fi I'd love a bread sausage, please! Have a nice pint of wine ... that'll do the trick...

Tummum · 23/11/2009 17:41

Fi sending empathy and sympathy. Sounds rubbish. My chief complaint is that G is now climbing all of the furniture & coffee table especially. He complains all of the time, then lets go, falls backwards and smashes head on the very hard wooden floor. Over and over and over again. I wish he was a nice still baby, just contemplating rolling over, as the starting to walk stage is a complete PITA.

Sausage lovely to hear from you. Just gonna check out the photos. [Angry] at easysh*ite. How awful for you. Thinking of your friend's LO.

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 19:02

1dc in bed hopefully soon to be asleep.. other still quite lively.. settling down to watch a DVD.. be back later..

Jael · 23/11/2009 20:36

Hi everyone,
congratulations Auntie Pula and Auntie Sausage on the new arrivals

Dandy Your day/night out sounded absolutely fab!

Sausage wedding pics

J has been extremely grumpy the last few days and extremely dribbly, i've put him some teething gel on as I had sooo much trouble getting him to go to bed tonight! His fingers have been in hs mouth constant for months, so I've been expecting a tooth for ages now, poor babe.

On the subject of food, sorry can't remember who mentioned it, I know a baby can't really eat too much, but J eats tons!

Breakfast is 1 weatabix or 2 rusk or bowl of redybrek
lunch is 8 cubes of homemade puree and pudding
Tea is similar quantities too.
He's now having pasta and meat in his purees too, and he's on 4 70z feeds a day, what is everyone elses LO taking milkwise?

pulacracker · 23/11/2009 21:12

Jael- it was me who asked about how much LOs were eating. Your J does sound like he loves his food - S is definitely wanting more, so now i keep going until he slows down/looses interest. He still has 5 or 6 milk feeds in 24 hours, although most are pretty short apart from wakeup and bedtime. We have a nice routine now, usually around the following times:

7am milk
8am breakfast
9.15am nap
11am milk
12 lunch
1pm nap
2 or 3pm - milk
5pm - tea
6.15pm - milk
7pm - bed
10pm - milk
sometimes an extra feed at night. Just a shame that naps are now really short - he generally only naps 1-2 hours a day now.

Jael · 23/11/2009 21:15

Sausage its took me almost an hour to look at all your pics properly hehe I've had to borrow DP's laptop, which I can't work very well you looked beautiful Did you hold your reception in your parents house or was that somebody else? sorry I'm sleep deprived at the mo! lol

Right I'm off to make a cup of tea before bed XX

muddleddaizy · 23/11/2009 21:36

Love the photos Saus

Where's Momi? Missed your posts today!

Fi sorry you've had a rubbish day. Hope the dc sleep tonight. I've felt quite low today - but hey ho, hopefully I'll feel better tom

essenceofSES · 23/11/2009 21:37

Hello all!

DH away in Scotland tonight so I'm all alone and hoping O has a good night.

Before I forget, we were talking about cleaning teeth and I found this which is working really well for us. I generally give it to O when I change his nappy and he stickes it in his mouth and has a good chew and moves it around his mouth. I then use the end with soft rubbery bristles on his 2 teeth. It's also good at distracting him from rolling over whilst I change his nappy!!

weaning - still going well with BLW here. I think O would eat a bit more if he could sit better for longer. He is getting better though. We had a roast dinner yesterday afternoon and I roasted some sweet potato, peppers and parsnips and he has had a couple of chunks of each of those for his tea yesterday and today. He also loves yoghurt. I give him a spoon to play with and I have a spoon that I load myself to feed him but he normally grabs it off me and shoves it in his mouth. A little normally goes around his mouth but he's fairly good with his hand to mouth co-ordination now.

Fi - hope you get a better night's sleep.

Tummum - I thought O was pretty active but G sounds like he'll be walking soon!

saus - great to have you back. Had a quick look at your photos and they are gorgeous!! V hard decision to choose which ones to get.
O has 2 pairs of trousers that he sometimes crawls out of.
Ooh, congrats on teeth too!

pulacracker · 23/11/2009 21:48

Ooh i'm so excited i have to tell someone- I've just "won" some Ugg boots on ebay - brand new in box for £60 - my Christmas present from DH. I tried some of them on in John Lewis at the weekend for £160 so feel pretty chuffed (hope they are as comfy as the ones i tried on ). I would have preferred black, and these are chestnut brown but i'm sure once i put them on, i won't want to take them off!

SpangleMaker · 23/11/2009 21:50

Fi hope you are curled up on the sofa by now accompanied by a nice drink.

MrsAuntieSausage your wedding pictures are lovely. You look gorgeous, as does M. Your DH is a lucky man!

Jael sounds similar to an NCT friend of mine. She has a big baby who loves his food H doesn't seem to have a very big appetite, which worries me sometimes, but he seems well and happy and enjoys his mealtimes so I'm sure he's fine. I'm taking him to be weighed tomorrow so we'll see!

Tummum I'm so impressed with G! We have wooden floors here too and I hate the sound of H's head thudding on it when he rolls over. I'm not sure how much it hurts him because he only seems to cry about it when he sees me wince . Yesterday I was musing on buying him a padded hat of some sort .

grumpy santa you can't really see on the profile pic but H is sat next to his bauble saying 'H's 1st Christmas' but his expression is saying 'it's my 100th Christmas and it's so bloody tedious, why do I have to sit here in this ridiculous get up every time, grrr!'.

Good news - rang work today and spoke to my line manager - he says I can just tell him what hours I want to work and they will find a role for me to fit around that. There are a lot of part timers in my division, between women with child care responsibilities and people taking flexible retirement. It seems no thought has been put into what I'll be doing yet so hopefully I'll have a chance to influence things to get a project/projects I'll enjoy.

SpangleMaker · 23/11/2009 21:56

Congrats pula! Ses H is still very messy with spoons but is getting better. He enjoys eating with the spoon though it seems my spoons are far more enticing than his. Today I ate mini shredded wheat with my fingers because my spoon was distracting him too much!

pulacracker · 23/11/2009 22:06

Thanks Spangle- I'm now starting to worry i might have bought fake Uggs, but they were described as "genuine" and i've found a website which explains how to tell the difference between real and fake ones.

Jennstar · 23/11/2009 22:25

Evening all

I'm sorry I've skim read the thread again. I've had no chance to go on the computer. The DC are now well....fingers crossed.

Congratulations to all the Aunties.

Sausage, your wedding photos look brilliant and you look gorgeous.

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 22:26

evening! Feeling more chilled now but planning an early night as i'm bushed. Fingers crossed both dc's sleep through tonight...

Congratulations pula Fingers crossed the boots are right... I know the website you mention from when i was looking for uggs on ebay myself and it's really informative. You'll know when they arrive I suppose and they'll still be fantastic looking warm boots either way!

mrsauntiesausage Your wedding photos are lovely and show how gorgeous you & all the family look love your mum's hat btw and M is adorable.

ses we have to have 2 spoons when eating so G can have one & switch iyswim.

I had another attempt with the other half of the bread dough this afternoon & it went a lot better... i rolled it out into a thin sheet and grated some cheddar cheese on top, cut it into thin strips and then baked them. The result was really scrumptious & more like sticks than sausages bread sticks! YAY G was a very happy smiley little girl in the high chair at dinner time... you've never seen such furious sucking and drooling!!

jael we've only just started food so early days for us atm.

essenceofSES · 23/11/2009 22:28

Jenn - yay for a well household. Long may it last!

Fi - your breadsticks and bread sausages sound great

Right I really should go to bed....

Momino · 23/11/2009 22:47

evening all. just sat in bed, catching up with you all, half-listening to I'm Sorry I haven't A Clue on iPlayer, other half listening to Harper whimpering away. she seems to wake up around 10ish from time to time. we just cuddle her, put her down, wait 5-10 min, cuddle, put her down, etc. and she eventually drops back off after 4 or 5 times.

sausage, I love the photos. you look so beautiful and happy and your dress is gorgeous. M looks so sweet as well.

Fi, hope you're feeling better. sounds like a tough day. a bit of rest will help. I know what it feels like to have a child following you around not giving you space. maddening.

Muddled, your post made me . It's nice to be missed sometimes! I hope you're feeling better too. echoing what I said to Fi: a bit of rest will help, hope you're able to. make sure you get out tomorrow if you can.

pula, Uggs! Hope you enjoy them, they're so comfy. I live in mine which I got last year for christmas.

Ses, hope O sleeps well for you with dh away.

spangle, that is such good news about work. I hope you get a role that is intersting and you enjoy.

Jael, J is eating so well!

H eats fine but not amounts I would classify as a meal. She doesn't sit well when eating. She'll take a bit of food but start crying or twisting out of her chair in the middle of eating. not sure if I get timing right so maybe I catch her when she's too tired . i also wonder if she has reflux and gets tummy pain.

H was so good today. I had to take everyone to the dentist so DD1&2 could get their teeth checked. she was quiet/content the whole time. I needed that since dd1 threw a tantrum and wouldn't get in the chair. I couldn't fight with her so we just had to leave. dd2 was a star, though. she sat in the chair looking a bit scared and little, bless, but i talked to her the whole time. she opened her mouth beautifully and got a sticker , i was very proud. unfortunately it made me more cross with dd1 but i'm watching how/what i say about her behaviour since she's been so down on herself lately (she's almost 4).

ok, this post is getting a bit too long so I'm going to stop abruptly. hope everyone is fleeping soundly by now. i hope to join you soon.

Momino · 23/11/2009 22:49

xposted with a few of you.
jenn, glad to hear DC are better.
fi, bread 'sausages' .

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 22:54

a very suddenly snottery G has woken up... have just bf her and she's now next to me on the sofa sneezing huge snot bubbles poor wee thing. I've put some childrens olbas on a muslin near us and hoping it clears her nose a bit more so she can breathe easier. looks like i'm going to be up a while longer?!

Momino · 23/11/2009 23:06

Ah, fi. gonna have to go to sleep, my eyes are crossing.

Hope G settles down soon, bless, and you get some sleep.

FiByTheSea · 24/11/2009 07:32

urrrgh another rotten night here.. worse than one before! I was able to settle G and was in bed before midnight but ds was up again at 4 and hasn't gone back to sleep yet and G throughout the whole night thrashed around waking dh & I up every time she rolled into the side of the cotbed, got her arms stuck through the bars. she did last until 7 for a feed though so that's something. will take ds off to our bed later this am to see if i can impose encourage a long nap..
