hehehe I had a lie in this morning. J woke at 6 so I brought him into our bed, he fell back asleep at 7ish and we slept in until 9.20
It was 9pm before he finally dropped off last night though

smokytom · 22/11/2009 12:31

Febes and Fi the cakes look great!

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 22/11/2009 14:15

Hi all, just sitting down for a minute before the party starts. DD is napping. DH and R have walked up to the party shop to blow up some balloons with helium and then we are set to go. I got DD a cute party outfit with dusty pink tutu/skirt and t-shirt and sparkly bolero thingy so will dress her up when she wakes up and quickly take a photo before she gets all covered in chocolate etc.

AuntyPula Babies are popping put all over the place in your family!! Name and weight please (I like to know these things).

Better go and turn on the oven for the nibblies to be cooked.

HeadlessLadyH · 22/11/2009 15:32

Afternoon all.

Sorry haven't been around much the last few days. Not sure where the time has gone!!

Am having a quiet hour as DH taken both DSs for a swim so catching up with SCD from last night and cooking roast beef for us all on the swimmers return.

Will try to catch up with everyone later on tonight but for now, am putting my feet up and concentrating on SCD!

Febes- the baby weighed 7lb 6oz and is called Winnie! Yes, lots of babies this year, first mine in May, my DB/SIL in June, my DSis/DBIL in Sept and now my DBIL/DSIL in Nov. My parents have gone from 2 to 5 grandchildren in the space of a few months, and my PIL from 5 to 7 . Babies everywhere!

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 22/11/2009 18:58

Pula Lovely to have another girl baby born to join K against all the boys too.
Sporting your christmas name already I see .

Well the guests have all gone, DCs in bed and house semi tidy again. I am shattered but it was a nice little party and DD enjoyed herself and loved the cake.

I will be in bed early tonight I think.

Reggiee · 22/11/2009 18:58

Evening. Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend and now getting settled with a glass of vino.

Have been absent for a while so name check amnesty. To say things have been chaotic here is an understatement. We're currently getting our loft done, and unfortunately despite planning and organising this months ago the builders only started recenlty and they removed the roof just before the dreadful weather arrived. So last Tuesday dh and I woke at 1.22am to the sound of regular drips...Investigating further we found the whole of our loft floor was drenched, top carpets wet, water pouring in through our bathroom and landing ceilings, plus running down various points to our downstairs hallway. Each time the wind gusted, the tarpulin just lifted up and exposed our house to the heavy rain. I got dd up early just as her ceiling started leaking, and took the kids to in laws. Meanwhile dh stayed at home for three days during which time the boiler packed in. Joy.

Anyway, have returned home this afternoon via a pleasant weekend away, and things are drier and boiler working. Have a million loads of washing to do though!

So that's me! All good fun. Am hoping the roof may go back on this week but time will tell. There are no sexy builders here but I would be happy with efficient ones!!

pulacracker · 22/11/2009 19:55

Reggiee- sorry you've had such a bad time of it lately- sounds like you are trying to stay positive.

febes- hope your DD had a nice birthday. DD is still the only girl on my side of the family but there are 4 girls now on DHs side .

Well DS2 is asleep in the nursery for the first time ever - not sure it will last all night, but we thought we'd give it a go as we still have a cot in our room so we can always bring him in with us. I feel a bit that my little baby is growing up.

HeadlessLadyH · 22/11/2009 20:12

Done a quick catch up. Its been a busy weekend on here!

reggiee yikes your roof situation sounds hairy. Terrible timing with all this weather too. Hows it looking now?

febes happy birthday to your DD. And wow at the support new mums get in NZ. Thats fabulous. I'm sure it make a world of difference here if they gave even half that amount of support on the NHS. Glad to hear the twins are getting stronger by the day.

tummum your poor DD. Have you knitting needles at the ready for the itches?

congrats to aunty pula too. Love to hear about new arrivals!!

Not sure where the time has gone over this weekend! We had our local Christmas light switch on last night with fireworks. We had a few friends over after for drinks and food for the kids. Worked out pretty well. The kids all ate and we drank!! Plus everyone went home at 7.30pm! So I got to sit down and watch XF too. Perfect.

Have to nip up to read DS1 a quick story. Back later I hope.

Awww Dandy thank you for the lovely comments. I do enjoy photography but never really got around to making it a proper hobby. H is good subject matter though, he loves having his photo taken - he posed for the camera from a few wks old. I have a friend who is the most amazing photographer. He & his DW had twin boys earlier this year and I can't wait to see his photos.

The bumbo tray is from Mothercare, however, DH just told me they said they were phasing the trays out as a separate item as they're now being sold with the seat. You might still get one though. My H sounds like yours btw - closer to crawling than sitting.

Reggiee OMG what a nightmare! Glad you & DCs managed to make a timely escape.

ReeBee meant to say earlier, glad you survived the floods ok!

Febes a late happy birthday to your DD

DH is busy watching Top Gear so I'm going to load up some photos we did of H today wearing his Christmas outfit and get some prints ordered. He wasn't in a great mood so he's a rather grumpy-looking Santa Clause but I think there should be a couple of smiley shots in there somewhere.

SpangleMaker · 22/11/2009 21:42

Santa Clause - who's that? The Christmas spirit of lawyers perhaps?

Momino · 22/11/2009 22:07

evening all.
spangle, my DH watching Top Gear as well (I can't stand the show). sigh.

Reggiee, how horrible for you! HOpe things are better by now and the roof is back on soon.

Febes, hope your DD had a wonderful day.

Pula, congrats on your new baby niece!

febes/Fi, love both your cakes. could one of you please offer to make one for my dd1 whose bday is in a few weeks? she wants a pink castle (never gonna happen if I'm in change of making it).

Dandy, happy belated anniv. sounds like you had a great weekend, especially being outnabout with your 4yrold dd. I should arrange a shopping trip with my (nearly) 4yr old, sounds fun.

tummum, your new caravan sounds great. hope your dD is ok today.

Ses, hope you get an unbroken night of sleep tonight.

we had H in our room last night since inlaws stayed. miraculously she slept through but, as usual, dd1 made up for it by waking up a few times for the usual things like tucking in, water, etc.

ah, speak of the devil. I can hear her now. wailing. wonder what woke her . do I pick her up? should I just pretend I can't hear her and let DH go?

ok, she's starting to wail louder. if I'm not back on later, have a good night everyone. Hi to the rest of you I didn't namecheck.

Hiya all dh was hogging the laptop tonight to watch his american footie... my turn now before i dream feed g shortly.

reggie i hope your roof gets back on & watertight really soon.. awful timing of the weather for you

momino I'd love to make a pink castle but not sure how i'd get it from w-s-m to york in one intact piece?!

spangle grumpy santa is very cute

dandy at DD wanting to go to uni now... i wonder what she envisages uni to be like?

santa clause lol

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 04:33

not a great night so far.. ds and G awake. dh has gone into ds while i'm now bf G (tried everything else but she'd poo'd so think she got hungry). so windy out there.. I think cold woke up ds.. his room dropped to 18degrees with our draughty windows.. his room is on the side of the house getting full force of wind atm. not even shutters blocking out it all..

muddleddaizy · 23/11/2009 08:17

Morning!

Fi hope you managed to get back to sleep. Ds1 has been unsettled for the past 2 nights. Don't know what's going on.

Spangle I agree - brilliant photos

Reebee glad to hear you're on a hill! It looks like a nightmare...

Reggie hope you get your roof asap, it too sounds like a nightmare!

Bumbo trays you can get them on ebay too. I'm going to have to give up the bumbo completely as ds2 still tries to hang out of it with the tray on

Dandy a belated happy anniverary and your shopping trip sounds fab!

Febes and Fi great cakes!

Ses Sorry to hear about your colleague. I had to chuckle where you said you'd asked your dh to help with baths. In the muddled house it is my job to bath the children. I think hell will freeze over before dh does it voluntarily! Having said that if I bath them dh dries and dresses ds1.

Headless I am in awe that your dh has taken out not 1 but 2 ds's swimming

Congratulations Aunty Pula. I (it'll be an expensive year buying christmas presents this year

Tummum hope your dd's arm heals quickly and gets used to her plaster!

I really dislike Monday's as I have to clear the carnage caused over the weekend, best get going whilst ds2 is asleep [sigh]

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 08:45

morning

ds is still asleep and not sure how long he's been asleep for.. G went back to sleep after both boobs.. and i drifted off about 5.30am i think. Been back up since 7.45am when G woke me up doing another noisey poo. In the days of one dc I could have had a lie In today! going to let ds sleep and keep him off pre school today as not sure how much sleep he's had.. he'd not enjoy himself when tired and grumpy.

WOW it's a wild wild day out there.. and it was a wild wild night too.. possibly the reason ds woke up? Quite glad to be able to hide inside!

Belgianrockets · 23/11/2009 10:01

Morning all,

Congrats to pula first of all. Lots of babies to all play together in the future. Our family had a year like that once and now 5 years on it's lovely during family reunions

dandy You're so right about the older dcs. I had a similar revelation last week somewhere where I spent a bit more time with dd1 while C was napping and I could tell she thoroughly enjoyed it and had been missing exclusive mummy time. Somehow ds gets it, but dd1 gets missed out often. She loved being babied again for a bit, you know, cuddles and tickles and kisses. So I've been making a conscious effort to do a little more of that. And your dd wanting to leave reception to go to uni made me

reggie about your roof. I hope it's made waterproof soon. The weather is still atrocious.

bumbo trays I got mine from Amazon a few weeks ago. I got it the cheapest there, I think it was because delivery was cheapest or something. They seem to cost pretty much the same everywhere. Unfortunately we only used the tray a handful of times as C's chunky legs don't fit in the bumbo's leg holes anymore, lol.

fi Midnight poos, how inconsiderate of G. C's luckily only done that a handful of times, but I always know she's awake because of the farting. She wakes up and farts, lol.

fi I looked for your cake pics and can't find them for some reason Will have to check out spangle's pics too today.

We took some xmas pics to make into xmas cards. None of them were great as I just couldn't get them all to look at the camera without blinking at the same time. I'm just going to have to go with the best one.

FiByTheSea · 23/11/2009 10:49

belgian i uploaded them to my profile here.. as the birthday girl hadn't uploaded her photos onto facebook yet and didn't want to spoil her thunder.
