FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 20:12

i've just munched a large bowl of tyrells crisps and settling in to watch x factor... still have the munchies though and trying to resist goodies in the cupboard!

Belgianrockets · 21/11/2009 20:17

Hi everyone,

Proper catch up now and then a bit of sat night telly

Tummum Hope your dd is starting to feel better soon. Great news you finally heard of work.

reebee Glad you're high and dry up there. Hope it doesn't get worse for you and your family.

dandy Sounds like you had a great night last night. Hope tonight is equally good. It must have been nice to have a 1st proper girly shopping experience with your dd She sounds a character, lol.

spangle I get that with the timing too. It looks like I'm going to change our family's 7yo routine for a new one to accomodate C at dinnertime. We normally eat around 6, but C's ready for bed at 6.30, so I'm going to have to move it forward to 5 I think.
I'm going to have a look into what karndean doors are, they sound good.

C has started biting when BF. She did it twice yesterday and another 2 times today. I don't know why she does it. I hope I can put a stop to it soon. It hurts!

chocolate cake anyone? We're 1 down 1 to go

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 20:31

belgian ooo yes please i have the munchies . OW at the biting fingers crossed she'll stop VERY soon! The kardean is lovely... so easy to clean and the look of laminate without the problems.

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 20:38

Belgian - choccie cake here too please!

I'm just catching up on Strictly before switching to XFactor. I like watching both on Sky+ so I can forward through Bruce on Strictly and the ads on XFactor.

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 20:46

cheesecake noooooooo not fair! it's my absolute favourite pudding... arrrgh i have an urge for some now... will have to console myself with either an ice cream or choc buttons or both!

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 20:50

Fi - it was v v yummy....
I've just poured myself a glovely glass of red wine too

We had quite a nice day actually as after lunch with my DB and his GF (haven't seen them since August), met up with one of my NCT friends and her 6mo DD. Her DD kept laughing at me! I wasn't sure whether to take it as a compliment or not!!

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 20:55

It's lovely when they just giggle and at the strangest things too! I've discovered i'm not a total lightweight in the alcohol dept... DH came home yesterday with one of those really small bottles of cava fizzy you can get... you know the one glass ones. Well I couldn't finish my glass as my head was spinning after only drinking half of it . I love the taste but looks like i just can't handle the booze anymore going to have to find some taste just as good non alcoholic versions

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 21:06

It doesn't take much for me to get all light headed on alcohol. And what is a glovely glass of wine???!!

Got XFactor on now. What on earth is Lloyd doing singing this?! He's only 16 and the lyrics (especially the opening ones) don't really suit a 16yr old boy!! Simon Cowell will have a field day!!

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 21:07

Ok, what do I know... Simon Cowell liked it!

smokytom · 21/11/2009 21:10

Reebee glad your house is unaffected by the flooding and hopefully your GP won't be affected

Ses hope DH doesn't disturb you when he rolls in!

Dandy your weekend sounds lovely

The job I went for earlier this year has been readvertised. I was interviewed (not long after having J) but wasn't successful- they encouraged me to reapply at the time. Am not looking forward to going through the interview again but hopefully I'll be less frazzled this time. Unfortunately they have added an extra day on so it is now 4 days a week not 3 but I suppose the money would come in handy and I would be working 4 days a week if I stay in my current post.

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:16

smoky go on give it a go... if you get the job this time then if you don't get the job then you just stay in your old job... nothing to lose in trying?

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 21:17

Hi smoky - that must have been difficult having an interview so soon after J was born. Hoep it goes well for you this time. It's really hard to get your head round going back isn't it?

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:19

hmm i don't know what to watch on freeview now x factor has finished... any ideas?

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 21/11/2009 21:25

Ses I sky+ strictly and xfactor too for those reasons.

I have just iced DDs cake. Its a monkey cake and although not up to Fi's standard, I quite pleased with it and I know DD will LOVE it.

News on my nephews is that they are off all monitors and intervention now and have been breast feeding off my sister for the past 20 hours or so. They are feeding 3 hourly in the day and 4 hourly at night so better than my lovey son .She sent my a lovely photo of her tandem feeding them and its so sweet it bought tears to my eyes. My sis is rooming in with them in the neonatal for the past 24 hours and will hopefully be able to take them home tomorrow. Scary but exciting .

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 21:29

Hi Febes - great news about your nephews

I'm in awe of you all making and icing cakes! My mum used to do the same for our birthdays so I guess I need to learn in the next 6 months!

Fi - I'll probably watch Xtra Factor later. Not sure what else to suggest!

smokytom · 21/11/2009 21:35

Ses I hate the thought of going back to work- I'm really enjoying being at home with J. If I got that job it would be better paid as it is a higher grade than I am at the moment, and it is very close to home
Febes great news about your nephews

Belgianrockets · 21/11/2009 21:36

I'm just watching I'm a celebrity. I'm starting to feel really sorry for Katie Price now though. She's had to do the bush tucker trials every day so far. Oh and Lucy Benjamin in there is DH's friend's cousin.

febes great news about your nephews. They're getting there

smoky Good luck with the job interview

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:36

icing cakes I got into it after ds was born and i decided to do his 1st birthday cake I've baked for years as it's something i love to do... but had never done the novelty icing kind of stuff up until then... so 3yrs down the line and many birthday cakes for us, ds's friends from time to time, a wedding cake (3 tier job arrrgh!) for my cousin and I have just about got the hang of it?!

febes that's such great news about your nephews. I am in awe of anyone with twins and managing the tandem feeding too.

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:40

febes i'm sure your monkey is fantastic i'll show you mine if you show me yours ooooer

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:42

just turned over to i'm a celeb... my munchies have just gone! uuuuuurrrrrrgggggghhhhhh gross

essenceofSES · 21/11/2009 21:44

I echo Fi's comment about twins and tandem feeding. We need an "in awe" emoticon on MN!

Belgian - I'm trying to stay away from I'm a Celebrity as I think I watch too much tv as it is. I've watched every other series of it so going cold turkey!

It's still really wet and windy here. Guess it is everywhere?
Hoping it doesn't wake DS. He's done 2.5hrs so far...

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:46

had to switch channels... just couldn't watch them retch any more!

FiByTheSea · 21/11/2009 21:47

still wet and windy here too... although not as bad as our sash windows have stopped rattling!

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 21/11/2009 21:56

Hello!

dandy - your weekend sounds fab! A bit at your grown up anniversary night out, we didn't manage to do much for out 10th wedding anniversary. Maybe over Christmas we will, we'll be at my parents so my mum can babysit.

smokytom - it's a faff reapplying, but it might be worth it?

Impressed by all this cake icing! I can bake pretty well, but my icing is rubbish - I'm not delicate or precise enough.

belgian - ouch at the biting! Hopefully this phase will pass quickly.

febes - fab news about your nephews, and wow to your sister BFing them both. Hope they get home soon.

Well, I'm a bit squiffy too , two glasses of wine gone to my head. On the tea now to sober up a bit before bed time.

Good day here. Edited highlights: lie in until 9:30 this am as DH got up with the girls; new sling (wrap) arrived, it's a beautiful silvery grey and so pretty; walking this afternoon at a nature reserve place, DD1 was really good and very cute looking at things through her 'nockulars'; and finally DD1 did a poo on the toilet!!!!! I know you don't like talking about poo, but this is so exciting, I've been changing knickers every day (bleurgh).

smokytom · 21/11/2009 21:58

They have finished the challenge now Fi- it was horrible
