Sorry, can't help with the spiderman costume Dozy but welcome back anyway, we've all missed you
Misdee E is another boob monster who doesn't sleep so you're not alone.
Hana Sorry your DH is still being an idiot.
Ellielou Sorry to hear about your panic attacks Could they be due to stress with everything you have to deal with whilst DH is away? Glad your GP is sympathetic. Sorry to hear about your friend too
Must dash - E has just woken up!

Rosa · 20/12/2009 13:20

Its now if we get there. DD1 has a temperature......
Misdee I stopped MR feeding all night when Dh was home for a week and he got up to her I only fed her once round 2-3 and that was that. DH was a grumpy bu**ger for a week but now we do do better.
Ellielou Hang in there and keep going back to you GO if needed for more support and help. Positive thoughts for your friend.

Yorky · 21/12/2009 10:03

Hello all
I'm back!

If I remember right (completely possible I remember things no-one ever said!) today is Daisy's get together, I'm afraid we won't be there. DH has taken the DC to mums and tots to give me a quiet morning

Hope you're all doing OK, I have gone back to the shattered phase! I stopped bfeeding DD a couple of weeks ago after I gave her both sides and she then had 10oz from a bottle!!! As her latch has mostly been pretty uncomfy while I've been pg, and she clearly wasn't getting what she needed when I gritted my teeth I couldn't see who was benefitting, still gutted it wasn't really my decision. And she isn't sleeping that much better for being on cow's milk atm. Although I'm sure the horrible cold DS has given us all isn't helping her, and I wish she'd get on with cutting her teeth - I know they've been hurting for a bit and no sign of any new ones

Right, I think that's enough about me, have a lovely Christmas and I'll try and keep up with you all better this time!

PinkyMinxyPie · 21/12/2009 16:04

Sorry to have been gone so long. Mimi has a really bad case of HFM, she has been utterly miserable, poor thing. Temp seems to have gone today and we have anaesthetic spray for her throat so soem progress. I have pulled muscles between my ribs with this chest infection that won't shift- more ab's this week and a chest scan next week if it's not cleared. Gah. More than 2 hours sleep woul porolly make me feel heaps better but we mums can't be greedy can we! lol.

Hello Dozy!

Hugs Hana lovey.xx

Will catch up better later if baby permits.

Hope to meet up again in new year, yes?

AFingerofFudge · 21/12/2009 16:17

ooh Rosa, I hope you make it!! There's so many people stranded in places they don't want to be before Christmas, hope the thaw sets in soon.
Our street is an ice rink, so i haven't even dared go out today, as I'm scared of falling - I'm sure it's a sign of old age. A few years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about going out in icy weather, now I'm too aware of the consequences of a fall. Our neighbour was carted off to hospital yesterday as she slipped on the ice and broke her hip. She wasn't even that old. She was supposed to be going to Spain tomorrow to spend Christmas with her family. Instead she's laid up in Hospital, poor thing.
Another friend has a very poorly DS with a very bad chest. He had a bout in hospital two weeks ago with it and he's still v. poorly although now at home. She hasn't done a scrap of Christmas shopping for any of her kids, and is at her wits end with his lack of improvement.
We're supposed to be going to London tomorrow to meet a friend, not sure yet we'll make it.

Still no SS here. Hey ho, it would have been nice, but in the grand scheme of things, I'm grateful just to be at home in the warmth! M is on good form and we're all looking forward to Christmas. Shame I'm doing a nightshift on Christmas night!!

catch up more later

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 21/12/2009 20:40

sorry for the travel woes Rosa; I hope you manage to get over here!

Hey Dozy; glad to see you back . I hope you aren't feeling ignored, but it's a bit quiet sometimes round here! I did type a reply before I went to bed last night, but it's lost somewhere in the mists of cyber-space! I hope you find the Spidey suit; we only have a torn and battered un-muscled one here.

hi Yorky; good to see you as well . Are you going to be around over the holidays? would be good to catch up. Sorry about the feeding thing; I had similar with DD when pregnant with bumble, but much much earlier on. how long do you have to go?

I hope things are a little easier hana, hugs lovely xx

sorry to hear about mimi Pinky. I tried to text/call you about today as I wasn't sure whether you had seen the FB thread or not, but your No isn't in my phone, which is odd as I know I've called/texted you before . I hope your chest gets better soon; sounds horrible. Yes, met up postponed till the weather is better less foul, although jaunita came over for a cuppa...and bumble proceeded to bully P into hiding out on his mum's lap . I am raising a thug!

ellie, I've only skimmed, but sorry to hear about your anxiety issues. Definately see the doc about it; since being on sertaline my anxiety is soooo much better; I used to have panic attacks just thinking about leaving the house.

fudge, I've been paranoid about falling as well; my hips/pelvis are still pretty unstable (I stepped off a stool the wrong way last week and was in agony for about 24 hours) and the thought of a fall fills me with dread. Even holding DD's hand made me nervous as I know that of she went down I would just follow her, and the pavements here are like ice rinks. The local councils all grit the pavements in Scotland; not so here it would seem

Can't remember what else.

oh, yes, bumble is being very odd with milk/feeding at the minute; he wants to BF, but gets really annoyed and is on and off. He had his usual 10 mins before bed, but wouldn't settle so DH brought him back down; he cried for milk but swiped me away when I started to get my boob out...then proceeded to drain 150ml of cow's milk. I think this might be our BFing relationship coming to an end

Cricri · 21/12/2009 22:36

Rosa Hope DD1 is better and that you manage to make it to the UK. So many people are struggling to get to where they want to go atm, not what you need just before Christmas. My gran and auntie have had to delay their departure from France and are now setting off tomorrow because of the bad weather. They're driving so they were fortunate in that they could be flexible. However, we're hoping they can travel through the tunnel by the time they get there on Wednesday as it's not looking good at the moment.
Pinky Hope Mimi recovers quickly. HFM is horrible - we were fortunate that E had it relatively mildly but it's a nasty illness and it sounds as though Mimi has had it quite badly. Hope this latest round of ABs manages to shift your chest infection, it sounds nasty.
Yorky Good to see you Sorry about the bf, it must be hard when it ends like that.
Daisy I really hope Bumble's feeding is just a blip and that you get back on track soon.
Ellielou How are you doing? What about you Hana? Hope you're OK.
FoF Sorry to hear about your neighbour. It's bad enough at any time, but at Christmas it's even worse. And to have all your holiday plans dashed like that, it's horrible Hope your friend's DS starts to improve soon, very worrying.
One of my NCT friends has been at the hospital with her DS who is a week older than E since yesterday morning. They were there a week ago too because apparently he's been screaming in pain when walking. Yesterday he couldn't even sit up without screaming so they took him back to hospital. Last week the doctors thought it was due to a virus he'd had which had got into his joints but they're now doing more in-depth investigations. His ultrasound scan today was clear and he's having more tests tomorrow and more bloods taken. Most peculiar and really horrible for my friend to have to deal with, especially not knowing what is causing it. I really hope he can come home for Christmas.
Hope everyone else is OK.

festivenameneeded · 21/12/2009 23:00

Hi I have name changed
dozy nice to see you back here but sorry cant help you with the spiderman suit either.
rosa hope dd1 is ok and you get here safely.
yorky hope you all get rid of the cold in time for xmas.
pinky poor mimi hope she feels better soon too.
fudge hope your friends DS gets well soon also there are alot of nasty bugs going about.
daisy how did the demo go?
cricri are you having your gran and auntie for Xmasm hope they get there soon.
Thanks for the lovely messages, I am ok with regards to anxiety just trying to get on with it and not think about things too much IYKWIM. Dont know how my friend got on as I have sent her messages and tried to phone but never get a reply I am getting the feeling that she is pushing me away, I dont know why, she may think she is protecting me or is in some kind of denial I really dont know I just wish she would let me in but I cant force my way in its not in my nature.
DD's are great though M is standing alot more so that encouraging and DD1 just loves her so much but DD1 is soooo hyper just now can be very trying at times lol. Was just wrapping presents there and thought I heard DD1 getting up so it was a mad dash to put things away again

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 21/12/2009 23:47

ellie, it could be that your friend is either in denial about what's happening or doesn't want people's pity, which is why she is shutting you out? Like you said you don't want treating with kid gloves over the anxiety, she may well feel the same about the cancer? Could you just let her know that you are there for her when she needs you My mum, although we only found out about her lung cancer two tears before she died, must have known about it when she was being treated for non hodgkin's lymphoma a few years before that as they had found a mass on her lung then and did a biopsy, but she told us it was inconclusive and that they had put it down to something that she probably inhaled into her lung as a child (she remembers choking on a pea). Roll forward two years and she is hospitalised with a collapsed lung....which she told us was untreatable lung cancer (she had said after the NHL that she would never go through chemo ever again). I honestly think she had hidden it from us all for as long as possible and that it was her choice not to have treatment. she also never complained about it, inspite of being a bit of a whingy hypochondriac about all manner of ailmentsSilly, brave lady

Anyway, rambling after Too Much Wine ; wishing your friend strength to deal with whatever lies ahead. you sound like a really good friend the fact that you are so worried about her and I'm sure she appreciates it.

Dd is out of bed; her tummy is itchy and her eczema has broken out again on her knee pits and the crook of her arm. Was happily watching the end of the graham norton show then the crimewatch update came on wioth views of a woman being doused in petrol and set alight....cue me panicking and switching TV off and her howling; I hope more because I switched the TV off than she knew what was happening. Still

wondering if Gordon Ramsay is a suitalbe alternative though

twinklingfairy · 22/12/2009 13:26

Well, we set of for PIL a day early cos the weather report said that monday would be brighter than today.
We got here fine.
The first bit was a tad scary but the main roads were dandy.
Poor you rosa back and forth like that.

festivename also for your friend and for your panic attacks. Not fun.
I am sure there will be a very simple reason she has not returned your call and that she will soon.

daisy I think that my BF days are numbered too. DS was on and off so much, it was incredibly irritating, this morning.
I really wanted to keep going for longer than I did with DD (who stopped about 13-14 months too) but maybe it was just an odd morning for him. He had woken much too early so I encourage him to go back to sleep. Fed him on his second wakening. Am I grasping at straws?

DH is away today trading our saab in for a BMW, he is so happy about it. He called to say that it was like roger moore was eating dark chocolate, listening to....I can't remember now, something smooooooth anyway

MonkeyMargot · 22/12/2009 13:29

hi all. Welcome back Dozy. I have also been largely absent since I returned to work full-time. These pesky jobs do get in the way of MN and FB....sigh.

SOme news from here - I'm PG again. Had our 12 week scan yesterday and discovered we're expecting twins....Both were very shocked, but very happy too.

How exciting! Congrats monkey!

MonkeyMargot · 22/12/2009 17:39

Ceebee yes 30th June, though I guess with twins they might be delivered a little earlier than that.
Our whole lives are going to change - new house needed, new car etc. But it will be fun!!

LadyBuzz · 22/12/2009 18:35

PinkyMinxyPie · 22/12/2009 18:48

Wowee Monkey that is fabulous news!!

You Are Going To Have YOur Hands Full.

Sorry, couldn't resist. You are going to hear that every day from a variety of well meaning people for the next few years It's something about having three or more children that prompts this response

Ellie I am so sorry for your friend, and for you.

Yorky · 22/12/2009 19:40

Hi all, nice to be remembered.

Daisy we're getting to my parents' at bedtime on Christmas day then doing our now traditional 2nd Christmas with them and my brothers on Boxing day and having a night away from the kids for our anniversary (27th) then heading home on the 28th. Would be great to have a quick meet up. Failing that - DS is having a birthday party late Jan if you could get across for it?

Good luck with the travelling Rosa, hope DD1 feels better before Christmas.

Oh bother, meant to post that before we went out for the afternoon, Oh well, here goes now - hope I don't x-post with too many people

Yorky · 22/12/2009 20:36

Didn't miss much did I?!!

Congratulations Monkey, and good luck. Hope you haven't been too sick, or too tired - I know how cheerfully I could have hibernated so far through this pg (19wks already!)

Cricri · 22/12/2009 21:20

Congratulations Monkey What lovely news and how exciting!

chocolategal · 22/12/2009 21:37

OMG! CONGRATULATIONS monkeym!!!
What amazing news!

ellie sorry to hear you've had your panic attacks return. Sounds like you are in control of it though.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 22/12/2009 22:08

MonkeyM. Fabulous news! I hope you aren't feeling too tired or ill and that the news is slowly sinking in! One of my june 07 buddies has twin gorls born about 20 months after her DD and she is surviving Getting out the house without grown up help is a challenge though! And good luck with the car; we are having a hard enough time finding something that will take two car seats and a booster, let alone three car seats!

Yorky, would be great to try and meet up if possible, even for a quick cuppa; I'm thinking someplace like Wacky Warehouse would be good so the kids let us chat in peace are entertained . We would love to come over for A's birthday; let me know the where and when

busy busy here; only logged on to harvest my crops and catch up on scrabble. this thing called Christmas doesn't half get in the way of my pootering!

PinkyMinxyPie · 22/12/2009 22:30

Daisy.. Fiat Doblo very economical, reiiable, fits 3 car seats, huge boot, cheap insurance....

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 22/12/2009 22:58

Ah, thanks Pinky; but tis a company car and doblo not on the list or we would have one like a shot!
