Daisy Glad you're feeling brighter, Christmas is always a difficult time when you've lost a parent. Pinky's words were lovely. Hope the sniffles don't turn into anything. I've had a really bad cold since the beginning of the week, my first bad one in a long time and of course I can't take anything for it apart from paracetamol. It's the blocked-up nose which is most annoying.
Coolkat Sorry to hear you're feeling rough too, could it just be a bug? I felt really sick and achy three weeks ago and lost my appetite for 5 days. Hope you feel better soon.

Hana Hope you're managing to write all your cards. My list just seems to get longer each year! And soon we'll be having to write some on behalf of our LOs to their little friends...
Ceebee It's a race against time isn't it and even clawing back 5 minutes can make a big difference but I can imagine how you feel about leaving Hamster to get on with his bottle. You probably mind more than he does though tbh and it's a case of needs must. I'm sure you make it up to him at other times with lots of cuddles
Rosa Hope you get to the UK without too many delays - they're forecasting 20cm of snow for the south-east tonight and tomorrow
All OK here, E has gone to bed at her normal time (7pm) for the past two nights running so perhaps things are starting to get back to normal after 2 and a half weeks. Last night she was a bit more unsettled and kept waking as soon as I tried to move off the bed, even though I waited until I thought she was in a deep sleep. She eventually fell asleep properly just before 9pm. For the last 2 nights she's only woken once for a feed too

santa thanks for letting me know - I will look forward to receiving it. Was just getting a bit worried as there is rarely anyone at home during the day and thought I might have missed something.

Daisy apparently heavy snow is forecast for Monday in Leeds and over the pennines I really hope not but obviously if it is accurate, then I guess I won't be coming Fingers crossed they have got the weather forecast wrong!

No secret santa present arrived here yet , anyone want to name change and tell me its posted??
Mind you, the teachers presents haven't arrived in the post either yet and the kids break up from school after lunch tomorrow!!!

I was looking at the weather with trepidation Ceebee ; for you and Pinky and for LB coming from lakeland! I guess we take a raincheck and see how things look on Sunday evening. The Penines in bad weather are truly awful.

My SS pressie was at the PO; tis beautifully wrapped (both of them!) and very intriguing!! Can't wait to open it

ellie have you got any of those wow toys? the little figure sets are really nice, we have a camper van and a motorbike with side car; Mimi really likes the little people that go with them.

I also really love the George Luck jigsaws- the stacking ones with animals getting bigger are really lovely.

Our local toyshop sells these little bags of wooden animals- either farm animals with a farmer and a tree or zoo animals, they are really nice to hold, post into things,stand on top of brick stacks, chew etc. HTH

Daisy I was thinking the very same thing, I really hope not but we can rearrange for the New year if needs be. I don't fancy trying that road in the snow.

J is loads better now still coughing a little bit but much more like himself. I'm still full of cold but I feel OK.

Finished work yesterday for two whole weeks - woo hoo, I have 2 shifts in the pub to do this weekend then that is me til the New year.
Its ladies night tonight complete with drag acts and strippers so that should be good fun.

daisy christmas is so hard esp without your mum, it does get easier but it still gets me a little every year. Hugs to you lady you are lovely.

Picked up my SS from Post office. Oh thank you, it is so nicely wrapped in gold paper.
I now feel that I did not choose a good thing for my ss, who hasn't confirmed receipt. oh dear. hope its o.k.
Text Dozy and ChocO to say that the ice and snow was too much , for me to go to the southern meet up today. It was treacherous. But no response.

Obs I don't know if mine hhas arrived either (shouldn't reallytalk about this, should we?)I'm sure whatever you sent will be lovely. Chin up. I'msure Dozy and Choc will reply soon.x

I'm disappointed about our meet up. I think the trains would be ok but I wouldn't envy anyone driving over the tops in the snow- it would be a bit hairy I think.

Not really out exploring the snow- DD1 is determined not to wear a nappy but it's early days, IYSWIM.

You should have seen my face. I'm sorry that you didn't. I was covered in confusion for about a minute - I had completely forgotten that I would be getting an ss!

So thank you thank you - you made me grin for the rest of the day - I still am now! Very thoughtful indeed! xxx

p.s. will have to test the furry cuffs when we have a bed installed!

Hope everyone is getting in the christmas spirit, I am trying to but cant be bothered wrapping all the pressies, but must do it tomorrow night!
I am having a bit of a hard time just now, been having panic attacks again had one whilst doing a course for work this week but hope no one noticed and then had another one in a shop whilst out with DD2 again hope no one noticed, I went to my GP as I dont want things escalating again he is referring me for counselling again and offered me meds but I want to see how things go over Xmas etc so explained that I would go back after new year to discuss. I havent told any of my family this time as I dont want anyone treating me with kidgloves again and I dont want to add to any stress anyone else may have. I found out this week my friend who has cancer and told me she had a cyst on her ovary a few weeks ago, that it is probably cancer and it may be in her bowel as well, she has apparently being going for treatment all year but hasnt told anyone (I thought she was getting better), so I have mixed emotions about that. I am angry at myself as I have hardly seen her but have been busy with my kids and family and alot of the time I cant get her on the phone as I dont want to just turn up as I know she has probs sleeping. I am angry at her for not telling anyone and trying to deal with this on her own. I am also terrified that I am going to lose her soon, knowledge is an awful thing. She has been for her scan and is awaiting results and is going for treatment soon. Everytime I start thinking about this my throat tightens up and I cant breathe, I told my GP this and he has been very supportive. I am sorry for offloading here but feel better for writing it down IYKWIM. I am looking forward to Xmas and love my family so much it hurts I am going to make this a great Xmas for my girls. I want to live my life to the fullest, I want to tell these panic attacks to piss off lol.

ellie big hugs to you and to your friend. It must be hard but don't beat yourself up about it, you have alot to deal with having 2 children it gets hard. It won't help that you are having a hard time it makes everything seem so much worse.

Last night was fun - although one of the strippers jumped over the bar and pinned me down to rub his chest - I was mortified I so thought I was safe on that side of the bar.
He was gorgeous though so it could have been worse

No snow here (yet) but it is very very cold.

We are still here as went to apt in snow and wind and after a 3 hrs Ejet confirmned that we could swap flight we diddn't wait and pegged it home so we will try again on Monday decided that 2 days of cancelled flights would mean a huge backlog in the apt and with the dd's no thanks.......
So will just have to eat double the mincepies when we get there!!!!

Ellie poor you but I think it is totally understandable for you to feel this way. I am sure your friend understands - after all you are on your own with 2 lo's for a month each time (I can't even begin to imagine how hard that would be as I rely on DH so much) and I am glad your GP is supportive.

rosa god, snow has a nasty habit of ruining all the best-laid plans doesn't it?? Hope you get to the UK soon!

I can't possibly read everything I have missed, but have been absent for a fair few months in the hope that my RL friend got bored of looking to see what anal nonsense I was posting! I have kept up with a fair few of you on FB and for those who I haven't I am truly sorry.

So, I have been bought back to MN with the hope that someone can help me with a huge xmas dilemma...DS3 who has never asked for a thing, has got a bee in his bonnet that the only thing Santa is going to bring him is a black spiderman costume - it's a reversible one with muscles so if any of you have got one lying at the bottom of your toybox - can I please buy it of you!!!! Have started a thread so fingers crossed someone can help me!
