Morning all, just a quick message as I need to get to toddlers..

Happy Birthday to MonkeyM's baby PLUM!!

Sorry to hear of all the DH/DP probs they can be such arses.. On that note this may make you snigger...

Last night I went to bed and was about to drift off into a lovely sleep when DH came in and put light on and started reading!!! I am sorry but that is just not acceptable behaviour in my book! (as someone who has suffered with sleep issues for the last 10 years I don't take kindly to such interruption!). Anyway.. this morning I was feeding Tinytoes and just as DH came in Tiny started to clench his fist and wave it in the universal way that means 'w*nker'!!

DH saw the jesticulation and I smiled and said yeah you are right there son.

Back later, hope you all have a good day..

Tinkerisdead · 17/11/2009 11:02

happy birthday plum sparkle thats brilliant with the hand gesture. My DD was babbling whilst DH was bathing her once and clear as a bell she said "dick head" It was a pure fluke but i ran down the landing stifling the laughs!

pinkali lots of my friends have hired car seats abroad so you shouldnt have an issue. Word of warning, if you do hire a car, make sure it has kiddy locks in the back. My friend went to cyprus, spent 40 minutes battling with the car seat pulled away in the car park and her DD opened the back door! Thank god they were still in the car park and could swap the car, doesnt bear thinking about if it had have been the motorway!

I need advice of my own, my periods/cycle seems to be all messed up and I dont know whether its something i should be getting checked out. I'm only mildly concerned cos we want to start trying for number 2. We've not been using precautions but then we havent been actively trying. Anyway, I BF DD for 6 months and had periods from about 4 months and they were about 28/30 day cycles. Since June, ive had an 18 day, some 35 days, a 40 day and I'm currently on day 34 this time.

Now I know nothing about cycle days really thats just from marking on a calender, but obviously without taking precuations I always wonder if im pregnant. I'm not by the way. So, is this just normal post baby settling down etc or should I be getting it checked out? Sorry for rambling but I am truly clueless about cycles/ovulation etc and I dont wanna resort to ovulation kits when TTC.

LadyBuzz · 17/11/2009 13:20

Happy Birthday Plum hope you are having a fab day.

drswife its always worth asking - i'm not too hot on it myself as I have always been bang on 28 days until I came off the pill a couple of months ago.

We went to see a house last night and I fell in love with it instantly, its right at the top end of our budget but it is just perfect and I really really want it!
Still need to sell ours though grrr!
Need to see the morgage guy to see just how little we could get away with taking for ours!!

sparkle I don't blame you I HATE being woken up just as i'm dropping off - or any other time for that matter.

I'm having a lovely day at work today as the cow bag I work with is not here .

Ceebee74 · 17/11/2009 14:00

Happy Birthday to Plum

Drswife no advice about your cycles but mine are all over the place and have been since having Hamster - I didn't bf and I think my AF came back after 10 weeks and then has been on a varying cycle from anything in between 26 days and 38 days Basically I never know when it is going to arrive!! But, if you are TTC, I can always tell when I am ovulating with my EWCM (tmi I know!) so maybe use that as an indicator and save on the OPK's?

Buzz ooh great about the house - will keep my fingers crossed that you manage to sort out your finances and get it!

Sparkls to your DH - very insensitive and obviously Tinytoes thinks so too Love it!!!

Hope all the poorly babes are on the mend now.

Twinks I get that from my DH all the time - he is away 2 nights every week and will ring from his hotel in the evenings having had a 3-course meal/wine etc....and then moans at me about how hard it is being away

Am so bored at work (hence the long posts I thought things would be better after my op but apparently not....it is just so quiet that I am literally twiddling my thumbs!! Not sure whether to say something or just keep quiet....

Pinkali37 · 17/11/2009 16:04

Dr's Wife MMMmmmm re cycle. Mine were always all over the place as i have endometriosis (coudl be anything up to 70 days). Following 2 operations they calmed down to 40 and then being on clomid to 38. Since having DD they have been 36.Are you having any sort of stress???

DITTO as well. We are also TTC#2. Was on some tablets and couldn't conceive for 5 months so only started last month. Have also started back on clomid as that was how DD was conceived. Getting totally broody and the desire for #2 is getting worse. Anyone else thinking about it?????

Pinkali37 · 17/11/2009 16:06

Ceebee can you ovulate without the Egg White stuff????

PinkyMinxy · 17/11/2009 16:21

Hello
Happy Birthdya Plum!

how exciting re the house, LB.Hop§e you sell yours quickly.

Sparkle, DRsw- out of the mouths of babes etc.

RE cycles I'm not sure whats going on with me because I've got this mirena thingy. But between my other two I ovulated once or twice between pregancies. I found I didn't ovulate until I stopped BF completely- and the last time it really hurt-so I knew it happened! I know this is not tha same for everyone, though.

DS enjoyed being abck at school today, and the girls have been much happier- especially Mimi- I think she finds it quite hectic when everyone is home. Got the letter through confirming DD1's nursery place for Jan. I think she'll really enjoy it, and I'll get some nice time with Mimi, but I'm going to really miss her!

coolkat · 17/11/2009 18:49

Re the cycle I went for my Smear on Monday and had a lovely nurse who I spoke to as I seem to be bleeding almost contantly, lightly but dark and clotty she could not do smear so I am going back next week to try again again. I get a heavy period but don't know how often as I bleed most of the time...

Happy Birthday Plum.

Ladybuzz good luck with the mortgage guy.

Ceebee you have my sympathies I hate being bored at work.

Hana hope today went well. X

You sound like you have had a nice day Pinky.

twinklingfairy · 17/11/2009 19:58

Oh lord. How long can I avoid the ironing and the washing in general??
It has only been waiting to be hung out for a day?
And how come my washing basket never empties??

My cycle was all to pot after DD. first was 40 days, I was convinced I had concieved first time out, but twas not to be for 9 more months
Not that that will be the case for your TTC#2 ladies.
Golly, I was just saying to DH that by this point in DDs life we had already been trying for DS for 3 months!

As for my cycle, I still have not had a period at all.
Should I be worried do you think?
I still BF DS approx 3 times a day (it has sedative in it) but I don't think that is enough to stop my periods is it.
In honesty, I don't care, I hate AF anyway!

Oblomov · 17/11/2009 20:05

Pinkali, hope you have a good time in Barcelona. Dead jealous. Barcelona is the only place left for me to visit. I had a long list , a long time ago of all the places I wanted to go. And I have been to them all. Apart from Barcelona. Wonder why I can't get there ????
Let us know whats its like, when you get back.

Love to everyone else.

I am sorry I am not about much. Work and looking after a stroppy five yr old is enough. But I am totally consumed with making a complaint against my referal to social services.
I am using ICAS to consider gross misconduct claims against the GP, the HV and the surgery for asking me to leave. This injustice has taken over my life. Not like I'm obsessed or anything.
Forgive me. I always read every single post. always have done. Just not responding very much. am i forgiven ?

coolkat · 17/11/2009 20:09

Your forgiven Obs! X

Ceebee74 · 17/11/2009 20:11

Pinkali I am fairly certain that you can conceive without EWCM - I guess in some women it is just not noticeable/present but doesn't mean you haven't ovulated (although I am no expert of course ) As it is, I have always had it in abundance so tis very obvous

Coolkat did the nurse have any wise words for you about your constant bleeding?

Pinky sounds like a lovely day! Your DD1 will love nursery Do you know what my mum always tells me when I tell her I feel guilty about not being able to give Hamster as much attention as DS1 got etc? Her words of wisdom are that the younger children get a raw deal at the start of their lives but they get some lovely 1-2-1 attention istead when the oldest children go to school - so true! So make the most of that time with Mimi - it is her turn to have you for a bit I am actually looking forward to my Mondays alone with Hamster when DS1 starts school next year.

Right need to go and pick through my present mountain pile to get out Hamster's birthday presents so I can wrap them up - teach me to be so organised and have most of the boys' Christmas presents aswell!!

Oblomov · 17/11/2009 20:30

Ceebee, you have christmas presents sorted already ????
I still can not think of a single thing to buy ds2. Becasue he needs nothing, I can't think of nothing, as it were.

Ceebee74 · 17/11/2009 20:47

obs I have been trying to buy stuff throughout the last few months to spread the cost out - as and when I see things. Have just been through it and have a huge pile of stuff for DS1 and hardly anything for hamster - I think for the same reasons as you, I struggle to find stuff that he needs/doesn't already have. Just piled together all the stocking fillers that I have bought for DS1......by the looks of it, he is going to need 2 stockings this year Haven't even bought the main presents for either of them yet (DS1 is having a Cars scaletrix and Hamster is having this - we bought one for DS1 for his 1st birthday and he played with it so much, it got really grotty and disgusting so we are going to buy Hamster one and hope he likes it as much (although I have a sneaky feeling DS1 will play with it far more )

coolkat · 17/11/2009 20:47

Ceebee, said a few reasons, for some reason and its totally irrational I have a bad feeling. I need to leave google alone

AFingerofFudge · 17/11/2009 21:16

cough cough splutter splutter.
Yes unfortunately we too are the house of snot and bad throats. M has had his for a week now, with no sign of the constant stream from his nose getting any less. It's soooo sore from me wiping it, so he screeches like mad when I go near him with a tissue. Fortunately he doesn't seem to mind the "snozzer" (little vaccuumy thing you use to suck to snot out from his nose. It sounds disgusting and it is truly gross but works a treat).

On the subject on cycles, mine has done the reverse. I've always had a 35 day cycle since I first started, and it has always gone back to that eventually after the first two kids. This time round, it has gone back to a very regular 29 days. I am odd.

I am gathering a few prezzies together. We had an NCT toy sale here last weekend, so I found a few bits for M, as to be honest, he needs nothing, he won't realize obviously that its Christmas, and the only reason I'll give him a bit of a stack of prezzies is for the benefit of the other two if that makes sense??

hana hope you got on ok
ellielou is it just one more sleep now till your DH is home? Hope all goes well when he's back!
tegan are you out there? you ok??

Hi to everyone else. x

PinkyMinxy · 17/11/2009 21:25

Hi all

Coolkat step away from Google, no point expecing something terrble when it's most likely something simple.x

Ceebee thank you lovey you are so right. DD1 did fine when Mimi was a little baby because she slept so much.

Ahh I love my children so much. They are FAB.

Christmas...sorry to have to tell you Obs but I only have 1 person left to buy a present for!

How has Rutho got on with her scan- has she had it yet?

love to all

barbareebaa · 17/11/2009 22:45

hello hello
ooh coolkat, don't google, every time i have done the google thing i have always ended up in bits for nothing xx

my cycle - on my second period, arrived later than expected. Much heavier and loads less hurty than pre pregnancy. Why is that???

Am rather envious of the ladies trying again [green]

am getting very excited about christmas! had some christmas toons playing whilst W was in the bath tonight - very festive!!don't think the neighbours were impressed tho'!

Ceebee - love your pressie for Hamster - looks totally fab!

ordered a ninky-nonk for W's birthday (also getting wheely-bug - ebay - £25 2nd hand hidden upstairs!!) arrived today but couldn't resist giving him it today. It's a bit tiny tho. why can't they make big ones? W loves it tho!!

love to all xx

Rosa · 18/11/2009 06:57

Lurgy here as well but strange - DD1 went down high temp and cough ( no way as bad as SF one). COmplained of ear problems so off to doc - she has huge wax build up so off to get it syringed - She was really upset so Doc said to wait and give her drops + antibiotics esp if she has infection beneath ...Thing is minirosa is now down with very high temp and this annoying cough so am wondering if dd did not have an infection just the wax . Well I guess we should finish the course now and we go back to have her ears 'washed' out on Friday.
I have all the symptoms of a temp but no temp and this silly cough .... DH turn next !
drswife Cycle - I went from being clock work 28 days to all over the place but shorter rather than longer. GP said give it until a few months after finishing bf ( am still doing am and pm) and then go back if things are not right .
Obs See you every once in a while on FB good luck with your claim.
coolcat I would go back to GP if you are worried nothing like Google to put the fear of god into you .
Ladybuzz yeaay on the house will they accept a lower offer do you think ?
Pink When we went to the Canaries the pre booked taxi with car seat diddn't turn up so we had to take a normal one.I just made the driver go mega slow and carefully. We got a free one on the return due to the mistake !!
However whilst there we took taxis locally and dd just had to sit between dh and me - journeys were no more than 5 - 10 mins but we had no option apart from car hire and it wasn't worth it.
Christmas I am starting but it is all on teh web as dn't know where we will be Minirosa is getting building bricks and Tomy eggs and then her stocking is having some useful things in like spoons and cups - I agree it is more for dd1 benefit - she has been choosing minirosas present from the catalogue but they always seem to be things that she likes.....
Right off to start the day - Have a nice day everybody hope its a snot free one !

Pinkali37 · 18/11/2009 09:57

obs I've been to Barcelona before (in a previous life so DH and i decided to do it together. I love it (although is pretty miserable if raining!). I previously went in May and October and October was gorgeous weather and May pee'd it down and was awful. Am looking forward to taking DD to the Zoo.

Ceebee thank you. I just don't know when to do it. And a little like when TTC DD DH isn't interested when it'a the actual time to do it. He feels like it's mechanical. I wish i got pregnant easily

I keep losing you all and my sieve-like head can't keep hold of everything I've just read so sorry to everyone I'm about to miss.

DD has been ill the last couple of days with a bit of a runny nose and a high temp, but its made her really sleepy - we're talking 1030 to 550am (best night in the last year!) as well as 2 decent daytime naps, she seems cooler today though and DS doesn't seem to have caught it.
Handed in her application form to get her into DSs nursery just one morning a week from January so I get a morning a week to myself to hoover or sleep or something I'm dreading it as she is so much more clingy than he was and he took ages to get used to being left

Good luck to everyone TTC, I'm sure you don't need to hear that we were shocked by how quickly it happened here.
Good luck with Relate, I just keep reminding myself how lucky I am as DH is carrying a lot at he moment - trying to give me lie-ins and getting up with the kids. I have to keep remembering to let him know I know he's doing a lot to support me
And for those with money issues our car has been at my dad's for weeks being fixed - the part he picked up yesterday costs £400 Christmas has just been cancelled, and that was on the same day as the cat cost £70 for peeing blood on the bathroom floor yes, its a wipe clean floor, but why has he stopped using his litter tray?!!
Its not as if we were loaded before, really hoping my Ofsted certificate comes through soon as I have had a couple of enquiries recently and we could really use the extra

Sorry for me post, will try to keep up better

Oblomov · 18/11/2009 13:32

sorry why is rutho having a scan ? I have missed this.
can someone remind me which of our two lovely ladies are pg, I keep forgetting.

Hi everyone,

Ok so much to catch up so will do so in note form..

Glad you liked my little w*nker story!! Hehe

LOL at Buzz's 'cow bag' comment - have worked with a fair few of them! And their counterparts the 'bull bags'..! Hope you get the house tho I love new houses!! Altho not so keen on the stressy bit they tend to entail...

Lucky you Pinkali! Like Obs I have never made it to
Barcelona yet.. (wistful sigh) Hope you can hire a car seat ok..

I am also trying to spread the cost of xmas Ceebee have only got a few more people to buy for BUT they are def the most difficult ones to get something for... (more sighs).

DocWife my cycle is also all over the place and unpredictable. Like Twinkling tho I am still bf 3x a day so think that is possibly cause. Whilst I don't mind them being so far apart it always seems to coincide with my wearing my best pjs!! Sorry TMI alert there...!

Waves to anyone I have missed I have DS on my lap and DS2 trying to delete what I am typing here.....!!!
