Thanks guys, I'm feeling a bit better now, I welled up a bit then reading your messages!

For those of you who have given up the AD's, they do take a while to kick in, and can make the depression worse in the meantime (depressingly! ) as well as the nasty side-effects which should wear off, have you given them at least a month before going off them? I've had at least 2 docs telling me this and telling me to "hang in there" as they do start to work. I just think I haven't found the right drug yet tho.

Ronshar, I had counselling but counsellor not very good so I binned it off. She used the session as a "look how much I remember from last time" test rather than asking me what I wanted to talk about that week, plus there were 4 weeks between sessions as she was so busy. Might ask to go back and try someone else. Doc I've been seeing reckons it's probably a chemical/ hormone thing with me given the family history. But I did have a pretty rough labour (get over it HMM) and the reflux to contend with, I remember writing in my journal the first time Poppy stopped crying for 15 mins straight when not BF or asleep and it was when she was at least 6 weeks old.

Jenwa, it would be lovely to meet up. And any of you are of course still welcome to come to Poppy's birthday party on 8 Nov

Oh and re the owt or nowt thing, I have been known to text; "U want owt from town?" - Translation for Star - "Can I get you anything from the mall?"

50ftQueeniefromtheblacklagoon · 21/10/2009 21:15

Star won't be able to understand much of Emmerdale! I don't watch it myself but when I have seen it I am hard pushed to understand it!

I have no idea what has happened with M and the milk. It's almost as if she is too busy during the day because after her bath she gets so frantic (patting her cushion like it's on fire) that she ends up throwing herself onto the bed in a mini-meltdown!

Hello Loulou! Sorry I didn't see you sneak in there. Lovely to see you. Hope all is well.

Oh and MamaG, I'd forgotten you were the same day

50ftQueeniefromtheblacklagoon · 21/10/2009 21:17

Ooops! Don't know why that happened. Obviously what I had to say was very important!

lol dh and I had a lot of difficulty communicating in Glasgow . I could actually understand quite a bit, but DH was having a conversation with this man on the bus... Dh was talking about austin powers and the Scottish man was talking about Alton Towers! Neither one knew that the other was talking about something different. it was sooooo funny!

I've just made Q some home made oat bars. I looked up several recipes and then made my own recipe They are cooking now... so we'll see. I've never done something like this before.

Ronshar - lol about north being north of london.
But where is north of london, really? If you're on the M25, it could be anywhere
round and round and round in circles... I hate the M25.

HMM I did give the ADs a month. It just didn't work for me. I just instinctively knew in myself that it wasn't right for me... and I'm doing much better with just counseling. I think once the post bf hormones settled down I felt better as well. I would say try another counselor if possible. Some of them are horrible. I had a bad one, but then went back and demanded another.

I watched "Eastenders" a few times a few years ago to see what all the hype was about. That was quite a different accent than I've heard around here.

Seriously.... at one point, I was on M25 and there was a N and S sign, later, it was E and W.... wtf? Really? Who actually understands that highway? I mean motorway.

star6 · 21/10/2009 21:52

hip hip hooray
Oatbars are delicious!
I put them in a mini muffin tin as couldn't find our baking tray/pan thing.
I put in
unsalted butter, cashew butter, whole oats, raisins, very finely grated carrot, small chunks of apple, very finely grated courgette, . I added one spoonful of honey after it was all mixed for "binding" power. It seems to have worked! They are sweet and delicious! I'm so proud of myself. Can't wait for Q to try some tomorrow.

50ft I'm going to make those sweet potato cakes in the morning and freeze some for later, too. So, finely grated sweet potato and egg. mix it together, make a patty, then cook. Can I bake them in the oven? If so, do I need to put butter on it or something? (sorry, I know very little about cooking, so if this is an obvious thing, I do apologize)

I have been taking my ADs for awhile now and did have the worst headaches ever for ages but I think they were also stress related, they have now gone thank god! I hated it, they made me feel sooooo bad but I am sticking with the AD's as they have calmed me and are helping me through my hearing issues. I do get really tired though and know you have said the same hm Is this a side effect? I am always shattered!
Will have to sort a meet up then, cant make Poppy's party as am at a friends for her little boys b'day but maybe another time. Could meet in the middle somewhere although not sure where the middle of us is!

star lol at you and the M25 and your accents Glad your oat bars turned out nice.

Of to bed in bit. sleepy zzzzzzz

I would put some olive oil on the bottom of the tray (otherwise they will stick or you could line the bottom with grease proof paper) and maybe brush some on the top of the cakes too. Do remember to pat them in flour after you've formed the patty of they get a bit sticky. And don't put too much egg in. I used less than one egg in mine and used a whole medium sized sweet potato. I don't know bout timings for the cooking, I just use my judgement!

ronshar · 21/10/2009 22:09

HMM def go back and find another one. It does really sound like meds wont be enough on their own.
Thank you for your invite. Unfortunately we are triple booked already that weekend. A family 50th, a 10th wedding ani and a childrens party. Still not made up our minds which one we will go too. Someone is going to be angry with us

CSWS, at least Mr CSWS is making himself usefull about the house. Poor D. He must have not enjoyed the meatballs. Trying to wash the taste away!!!

Watching Robbie Williams. sky+ from last night.
I bloody love Robbie.

50ftQueeniefromtheblacklagoon · 21/10/2009 22:11

Wrong thread Myjob! I suspect that only a couple of us know what you're talking about there!

RachieW · 21/10/2009 22:11

Hello! Happy anniversary Star and Mr Star

HMM- Just wanted to agree with everything already said about getting angry with babies being normal. I got really angry with J today because he was exhausted but wouldn't have a nap. Today was my one day off with him and I couldn't even get through that without being annoyed with him at some point which made me feel very

Despite the nap battle though we had a good day with a friend and her baby. It was lovely to see J playing with her ds, he is so much more confident around other babies since Nursery.

CSWS- Hope D is ok after dishwasher tablet eating.

MM- Yay for M walking more steps

Hi Loulou, enjoy Centre Parks- we are going next Easter so it would be good to know how you found it.

Hi to everyone else. Half term next week so I'm hoping I'll have more time to chat.

RachieW · 21/10/2009 22:13

Oh and Star you should try getting your head round the West Midlands accent and phrases 'Wim goin shops' 'What yowm doing?'

Ha ha re Alton v Austin Star! When I've been to Scotland I've had serious problems understanding some accents too. My mum and I got a taxi back to the hotel from a wedding once and were in fits of giggles in the back as the taxi driver talked to us all the way back and we didn't have a CLUE what he was saying!

When I started the AD's the first time I had a major vomiting fit. The second time I had a period where it felt like my brain was being squished from all sides. It does sound like you had an extreme reaction though Pistachio but it doesn't mean that all SSRI's will be the same? Can understand you not wanting to try though!

The only alternative I'm considering is homeopathy, a friend has been to a local homeopath and says she's really good, specialises in womens and childrens problems. Dunno tho. The needle lady put me off a bit.

I'm off to bed anyway, what a day! Night all.

Honeymoonmummy · 21/10/2009 22:40

Oh Jenwa, I'll have a chat with you on FB re meet-up

star6 · 22/10/2009 08:08

Q loves the oat bars. I've put the sweet potato cakes in the oven, hoovered, mopped, done laundry, washed dishes and changed sheets. And it's only 8.07 Fab day

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/10/2009 08:15

Bloody hell star. Are you superwoman?
Still, my 5 bed house would slow you down a bit I expect .

50ftQueeniefromtheblacklagoon · 22/10/2009 08:17

Ha ha ha! Star you make me laugh and feel tired! I am jealous that you're so organised though. I can't leave M for long enough to do any of those things! Maybe if my house was less of a death trap messy pit I could let her wander about more.

M woke up at 12.45, then 5.45, then 7.45! Lots of lovely sleep for me. No lovely sleep for DH though, he has loads of work to do before we go on holiday tomorrow. He slept from 4.15 to 6.15. Poor fella. I'm not happy about him driving today but as he said, his boss is such a tool that he has no choice.

star6 · 22/10/2009 08:42

lol to superwoman. hardly! Yes, a 5 bed house would def slow me down!
50ft - I can't leave Q much either. I carried him while I hoovered I'm surprised I'm still walking. He stood on a chair and helped me stir the potato stuff.
He helped take clothes out put the laundry in, followed me around with a mini mop while I mopped, bounced on the bed and in cot while I changed sheets and made a huge mess played with water in a bowl on the floor nex to the sink while I washed dishes. . I am a bit tired now tbh... Q will go down for his first nap in about a half hour, though He slept all night without waking at all! From 6.30pm-5.15am! . But didn't go back to sleep snuggling with me as usual, oh well, that means early nap.
Poor mr50ft! was he up until 4.15 doing work?? how awful!
