Oh no she isn't Myjob! She can do way more social things than most of the others. M is definately behind her on the social skills and N has good dexterity too. M just throws her yoghurt at us if we give her a spoon. She did start to try and dip her spoon in the pot but hasn't bothered with that for a while either. M seems really dim compared with ds at this age! Ah well, our girls will be dancers and I'm talking ballet not pole!

I don't think I'm ever going to get M off the boob. She gone milk crazy today. She's on her forth feed already! I think she's tired and not 100% but it's still a lot. I tried putting my feeding cushion up stairs but she just moped around getting upset and trying to lie down on my lap. As soon as I asked her if she wanted milk she got really excited and started jumping on me. Maybe she heard the conversation DH & I had about me going back to work & her to nursery. She's not going to go quietly if/when I go back. DS had his first settling in sessions at this age & didn't even notice I was gone!

Oh I'm just thinking about going back to work. I have no idea where what or when. There is a job back at the CPS but it's full time and a grade below my old job & I found that boring. While I want a job to earn some spending money, I don't want to take any old job though. There's nothing around at the moment & I have to think about what I'm going to do in the future.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/10/2009 12:58

Ds took his first steps!

(sorry for brief post - back later)

congrats csws!
and I agree, myjob - N is doing so well socially!! MILES better than Q.

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 13:15

My incredibly beautiful friend has just had a baby girl. If she looks anything like her mummy she is going to be one stunning little girl!

CSWS - Well done D!

star6 · 01/10/2009 13:26

Oh pistachio - just seen the vid of your DD on fb. Adorable!! So adorable!

star6 · 01/10/2009 13:27

Congrats for the new arrival 50ft

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 14:31

M has spent almost the whole day nursing. I have tried saying no and distracting her, but she keeps on asking and nodding her head at me. I suppose there must be a reason..... She does appear to be teething again.

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 14:32

Oh and she wouldn't eat any lunch but just ate a huge chunk of pickled onion. Odd baby.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/10/2009 14:53

Knickers - I really wouldn't say that ds was talking, not by a long shot. Just an occasional word or new sound. Dd wasn't very early to start talking, but once she did start she raced ahead with her vocab and overtook all the early starters we know.

Myjob - I think that N does sound good with her social skills.

Congrats on new baby for friend MM. My utterly gorgeous friend and her gorgeous dh made a little girl with sticky out ears . (The one with the Christmas decoration as a middle name).

Must be teeth MM. D has been less interested in food whilst his molars are shifting and more interested in milk. He's even started pulling at my top, which I had previously been so pleased wasn't a habit that he had developed . Does she have a cold too did you say? That might explain why she couldn't taste the pickled onion!

So D's steps were only tiny, and I don't think he even really thought about it, or he wouldn't have done it (he was laughing at my stepping demo whilst he was standing earlier on this morning), but he was just bridging a small gap from someone else to me, and took 2 weeny steps. We were at toddler group so dh missed it, but he said that he did it again to get to him just after we got home.

Do any of you want to come up/down here for ds' birthday a week on Saturday btw? Your babies are almost his only friends of his own age, and I feel bad that I haven't organised anything for him! You'd all be quite welcome.

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 15:10

Hmmm.... M's party is on the Sunday (afternoon) so we could probably come for a visit (assuming you want to see us again so soon!). DS would have to skip football practice though (I'm sure he'd be delighted about that to be honest!). I was going to take her to my mums for a tea party but I can convince her to leave work early on the Friday and come round here for late birthday tea. She'll want to see M on her birthday anyway.

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 15:12

oh and my beautiful friend's ds is rather odd looking. He looks like he will grow up to be a bit of a heart breaker, but his features don't work on a little boy's face.

star6 · 01/10/2009 15:17

I might be able to come, csws I feel badly that we haven't organized a party for Q... but we really don't have the space in our tiny place and don't know a lot of other babies...

Knickers0nmahead · 01/10/2009 16:41

i organised a party for dds 1st and it was hard work and no one turned up so i have decided not to have one for ds. just realised he has no friends his own age either! im not too fussed with his talking. he is too busy walking and climbing.

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 16:49

Knickers - That's pretty shitty of people to have not turned up. Having said that, I'm pretty convinced that nobody will turn up for M's party on the Sunday. Nobody has got back to me about it yet.

aubergenie · 01/10/2009 16:54

That would have been lovely CSWS but I'm going to another friend's baby's first birthday party next weekend. What a shame - I still haven't met any of you yet! Well done D on his first steps.

I wanted to organise something for S's birthday on Sunday but we haven't really got the space either Star. We've got dp's parents coming down and my sister and her family will come over for some cake but that's it.

While I've been at work, Dp's been taking S to one of the children's centres near here and (according to him ) the women that work there think he (dp) is fantastic. The other day at the end of the session he said "Come on S let's go to Morrisons" and they were all going on about how lucky I am. I don't remember getting any similar reactions while I was off work and doing all the shopping and the washing and the night feeds and and and...

aubergenie · 01/10/2009 16:57

Knickers - that's awful.

50ft - I've had a similar day with S - he's been feeding loads and has been horribly whiney. Dp's just taken him off my hands for half an hour to give me a breather.

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 17:49

I was wondering why I have been so hungry but I suppose it is because M hasn't stopped nursing!

50ftQueenie · 01/10/2009 17:50

I have also been able to spend an indecent amount of time on here.

csws yeh for D's steps. How far away are you from me? I could maybe come but hate driving far would be nice to see you again though.

We are having a party on sunday for dd1 and dd2 and our friends dc who are the same ages as mine. We had a party for dd1 when she was 1 but it is different 2nd time round as when dd1 had hers we invited family and friends (with and without kids) and hired a church hall and let the kids play but now dd1 would want some entertainment/games so we hired a sports hall with bouncy castles and stuff but not really appropriate to invite friends with no kids! DD2 will prob have a little tea party at home.

My friend had a little girl last week and I cant wait to see her but not had chance as P been snotty and we all had sore throats so never wanted to spread anything. If all well we will see them sat.

myjob N is just perfect, it just shows that all babies are different and you do a great job as you have a lovely son who is walking and talking P is simular to dd1 although maybe slightly more chilled and a better day sleeper. Although the slightly more chilled may phase out when she tunrs 3 too!
