Thanks Scorps.

Ellie, I'm finishing on the 2nd of Oct. I really can't wait, but can guarantee you now two weeks back from SA and I'll be on here moaning about how I miss the office. Some people...

with dh away tonight, I don't know whether I should bother cooking for myself, or whether I should just finish off all the ice cream in the house... You can guess which option's ahead, can't you??

Scorps · 14/09/2009 18:36

Sal I personally think you should get a chinese delivery.

I would be useless on a diet.

OP posts:
BethNoire · 14/09/2009 18:39

I think I should get a chineste takewaway to celebrate getting the MA palce, but sadly it costs so flipping much they may be in short supply for a while LOL!

Never mind, another step along the way to an overqualified retirement

Scorps · 14/09/2009 18:41

I would shout you a chinese if close enough you must be so proud of yourself, well done

I do NOT want to have to go on a diet after this baby, ta very muchly.

Denny185 · 14/09/2009 19:09

Thanks for new thread

Well done Beth, Im contemplating a masters once DD2 at pre-school, cant face it before then as will have to be PT alongside work.

I had the biggest amount of sleep this weekend, kids all slept for 14 hours both nights - I love the return to school/pre-school/creche

No yorkshire pudding here, but did do cauliflower cheese.

Meeting a friend tomorrow whos over from the states, hoping the weather stays dry, its gone so cold tonight that the heating has clicked in,

LadyBee · 14/09/2009 23:16

Oh dear, all this talk of food...I'm in such a non-cooking mood at the moment, I just can't be bothered for some reason - poor old DP had to put up with beans on toast for his supper on Sunday, and I was clapping my hands gleefully tonight because it's his night tonight AND tomorrow. (This does mean Wednesday I'll be struggling again, but have another whole day of Not Cooking to enjoy before then).

When is PM's c-section scheduled?

BabyBee is still hitting but I can vouch for just being consistent and saying 'no, we don't hit' - now I can anticipate it and say 'uh, uh, uh, no hitting please' and he'll stop himself from hitting me much of the time. What's weird is he now hits himself on the head instead, when I tell him 'no' or if he thinks I'm going to tell him off - it's almost like he's frustrated or annoyed with himself. With this, we more often just tell him to be gentle to his head than tell him 'no' sternly, as obviously he can feel himself that it hurts so presumably will work out that it would be better not to do it? Sometimes he does it in a frustrated way, continues, realises it hurts and stops, looks at his hand and then does it some more in a curious way, just to make sure it really does hurt and then says 'ow'. Funny baby.

EllieG · 15/09/2009 09:07

Oh am glad is not just mine - I was worried yesterday because Molly has now started hitting herself rather than us and I thought she was turning into a mentalist, but perhaps not.

beth - YEY for you! Is great news about MA

I think Mol might have ear infection, she's just had a cold and keeps pulling at them and saying 'Ear' and is whingy. Will take to doc tomorrow if not better today.

bunnyrabbit · 15/09/2009 10:39

Yoo hoo just dropped in to say byebye for a bit as I'm off to hospital tomorrow.

paranoidmummy · 15/09/2009 12:09

Oh, and boo about molly i hope she gets better soon

BethNoire · 15/09/2009 12:09

Hope hospitalisation goes well BR

Bas has a cough atm,no idea where it speang from. He's being a pita with eatinga s well and just throws things away. Doubly annoying when you se the price of gluten free stuff.

bunnyrabbit · 15/09/2009 12:13

Cheers Beth. Was on wheat free for a while and totally at the price of stuff. I'd pplastic mat on the floor, pick it up and put it back in the fride but I am fanatically about wasting stuff.

Ooooh PM so excited. Hopefully I'll be out before you go in. You must let us know how things are going.

BR

BethNoire · 15/09/2009 12:19

It'sdreadul isn't it? Finally found a loaf they'll eat but it's £2.49 for a 400g servng- so a tenner a week just for sandwiches for two. Ouch.

paranoidmummy · 15/09/2009 12:25

I missed you were going into hosp BR - hope it goes ok. I very nearly booked my section at chelmsford rather than colchester! We could have been bed buddies then

bunnyrabbit · 15/09/2009 12:35

LOL PM that would have been hilarious. Can you imagine us trying to find each other. You'll be waddling and I won't be able to move the upper half of my body. PMSL at the thought.

Beth, at that price they might as well be having school dinners! I tried making my own in the bread maker (gluten free flour)and it's actually ok if you eat it on the day you make it. I found it didn't keep well in the fridge at all. Still very cake like and crumbly like the shop bread though. I ended up eating crispbreads. One of my friends went on to oat cakes.

BR

bunnyrabbit · 15/09/2009 12:37

Actually beth, do you have a bread maker or can you boorow one? If you're using most of a small loaf every day, might be worth seeing if the kids will eat home made. You do have to add eggs IIRC but must still work out a lot cheaper than shop bought and you can add flavours if they like them (bacon bits may be or tommatoes??)

BethNoire · 15/09/2009 12:39

I do have one but haven't fired it up in ages.I need to find a good GF recipe- any ideas?

Two do go ddinners but I separate ds1 amnd ds2 at lunchtimes by putting onoe on packed lunches as that stope school making ds2 act as ds1'scarer

bunnyrabbit · 15/09/2009 13:11

Good for you cheeky buggers!!

I used one's from the back of the packets of the two different flours that I bought(one was wheat free one was gluten free) but would have searched on t'internet for better recipes had I carried on with it (it was only for 2 weeks before, and then the two weeks I was off drugs awaiting an endoscopy).

There are probably much better recipes/ideas on the forums etc that I'm assuming are out there. I did try making a 100% Rye (has that got gluten in it?) which came out exactly the same as the stuff you get in the shops i.e. like cardboard. Didn't try making a 50%rye 50% gluten free flour though which would have been the next logical step. TBH I didn't really like any of the shop bought stuff so would have started adding flavourings to make them more palatable and a nicer consistency had I continued. Are your DCs dairy free of can they eat cheese?

BR

Scorps · 15/09/2009 13:23

PM - i would be sleeping for the whole of the next 3 days

So tired now. Took boys to school at 8.45am & mimi to playgroup, home after 12pm. Doctors back in town at 4 for Jamie. Yawn.

Scorps · 15/09/2009 13:24

Best of luck for hospital BR x

Scorps · 15/09/2009 14:49

Right, today in post DH & I have been sent new debit cards for a joint cashcard only account we have. Anyway, we haven't requested this at all, and i have no PIN numbers. In the letter it suggests i should have PINs already.

This account has a savings account attached and both are in enough credit to care if it may go missing. WWYD?
