Hellooooo all

Had Matthew's Baptism today and it went very well. Even my toxic SIL was well behaved and my dad did speak to her in the end.

Poured with rain though so we couldn't sit out. Got all my tables and chairs out too.

Hope all OK. Sophie is 4 in 3 weeks.

Hello Ladies

Congrats to Matthew HC! Glad it went well.
Our babies are nearly 4! We've started planning her joint party too, hall is hired and entertainer is booked. Princess overload I expect.

Flick, sorry I can't call you Daddy either! Good to hear from you, though I have been nosing at your Facebook status's so you haven't been forgotten. Glad you are getting on well in SA, must be getting exciting now in the build-up. So sorry to hear about your hypertension, I hope you can get it treated effectively.

Bloss, sorry to hear about your mum too, sounds like she's progressing a bit.
HOW WAS THE SWIM!?!?!? I bet you did superbly, good on ya!

CB good to hear from you too, love your latest photos of Josh on FB, soooo cute, with the hair getting long again! And isn't Sam turning into a mini_josh!

Hello to everyone else, Pix, Impy. x x x

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 09/06/2010 13:15

Would you lovely ladies have an opinion on this, please?

Ceebee74 · 09/06/2010 20:06

Annie - have posted on your other thread

Have got my school meeting tomorrow - I am ridiculously excited about it Is that normal? It is like a whole new world opening up to us

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 10/06/2010 09:54

Thanks CB! I thing the general consensus on that thread is to use Kayley formally and for writing etc, and then use Mimi for everyday chat, as you said. Which is what I was probably going to do. I just wish I could have used her names on that thread as it would have been easier to explain!!

School meetings are exciting!! Will you get free wine!? We have Mimi's on Monday evening. Last year we didn't know anybody, this year we'll know loads and we'll be the smug know-it-alls...

Ceebee74 · 10/06/2010 20:04

Well, no free wine but we did get free salad Very bizarre!!

The meeting was over very quickly - just gave us loads of bits of paper and then went through them and that was it. Did buy Josh his school bags though - I got all emotional about my baby growing up

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2010 22:12

We haven't had a date yet. Will have to start buying school bags for Soph soon.

Darn, too dark to type now. Our electic bill must be cheaper next time......

Free salad?! To go with your free tap water perhaps? Nice... Did you get to meet Josh's teacher?

HC, Mimi will be getting mostly hand-me-downs from Joey, no new stuff . Well, except for the pink gingham dress!
Turn on the light, woman!!

Have a lovely weekend Ladies.
Come on England (Sssshhhhh don't let anyone Irish hear me say that!)

Ceebee74 · 11/06/2010 20:49

The purpose of the salad was to demonstrate what the salad bar looks like

Did meet Josh's teachers - he has 2 as the reception class will have 43 children in it all in one room. The room was huge with lots of different areas - they have 2 teachers and 2 nursery nurses. I am quite pleased as it means he will be in the same class as all his nursery chums.

So ladies, what are we doing for birthdays this year? Josh is having a 'disco' party at a local play area - the room has a disco ball and a karoke machine Need to get organised to do the party bags - have decided to do a bag with a few sweets in, a small tub of bubbles and then a book aswell rather than a bag full of tat

Oops

HumphreysCorner · 11/06/2010 21:10

Annie, Sophie is having some of Emma's clothes. Trouble is Emma wrecks things so they aren't any good. Soph will need a PE bag, homework bag and PE top from school. Oh, and a school coat. Will order a cardigan from M&S. Better start making a list-school shoes, name tags...........

I am just having the Grandparents round on Soph's birthday for nibbles. Emma had her first party for school friends at 6 and that is when Sophie will have one. Emma is having a Nintendo DS for her 7th Birthday so will only be having family round this year. Hopefully my BIL & SIL will be here for that.

Ceebee-a salad bar sounds awfully posh.

Waves to everyone else.

Hello ladies!

I'm just back from the school. They shouldn't really serve wine... talked to the teacher (different one to Joey - she mustn't like us...) and did the Kayley/Mimi/Kayley/mimi thing...

New teacher is very young and wrinkle-free.

Ordered a few bits for Mimi but to be honest the stuff we got for Joeyis so big he'll be wearing it for a few years yet!!!!

Party plans a-go -go...

There was no salad bar. Is it a crap school?

Love yaaa! x

HumphreysCorner · 15/06/2010 12:34

Lol Annie, can't wait to see what we get offered should we ever get an invite.

12 days and counting until the Sophster's birthday.

Hope all OK.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 15/06/2010 14:09

Good Idea HC.
Or I'm 4 and I love pink shoes...? Maybe not for the boys though!!

Only 12 days to Sophie's birthday!? Where has the time gone...

Ceebee74 · 15/06/2010 20:35

Annie - lol at it being a crap school cos you got offered wine instead of salad....I know which one I would prefer

HC - I like the 'I'm 4 and getting ready to start school' title so I think you should do it.

Bl**dy Josh was awake at 5.20 this morning fgs Surely they should have grown out of this by now??? Plus, if we don't 'entertain' him he goes into Sam's bedroom and jumps in his cot which means we can't ignore him once he is up

As for Sam, his current favourite word is 'no' accompanied by a shake of the head - tis very cute Tonight, when I said bedtime Sam, all I got in response was 'no' - it is bad enough Josh refusing to go to bed without Sam joining in!!

Happy days eh?

TheGoddessBlossom · 16/06/2010 12:58

DOn't start a new thread without me!!!

Hello all.

Can you believe they start school, ridic. Toby is stsill such a baby!

CB, Toby was up at 5.43 this morning. Hideous particularly as I was out in that there London last night with work.

Swim went well Annie, scary and I forgot to breath for a bit but my time was amazingly good! Was really surprised actually. Did enjoy the whole experience and Blemheim is beeyooteeful so intend to do it again next year.

Joined a gym this week - my tum is decidedly flabbier and I can no longer ignore my bingo wings so I want to try and tone up before we go away in early August. At 35 it is so much harder to stay in shape don't you think? I eat pretty much the same as I always have, play squash at least once a week, swim usually twice and now gym as well, and the weight just creeps on....

WOrk is crazy - I have some good clients but they are so demanding and moan constantly, you never know if you are doing a good job or not. Oh well as long as they keep paying.

Boys are great - Harry went on his first school trip today, they were all so excited. He has some great mates, one he is pparticularly close to. He is loving the footie and staying up with Daddy to watch it. Hilarious hearing him talk during the matches "How did you miss that!!!!??? SHOOT!!! PENALTY! REFEREEEEEEE????" etc

Toby is gorge, I am a little concerned about his inabaility to enunciate certain letters and sounds though like F and K...how will he get on with Phonics if he can't actually say the letter?

Lazy day at home today, think I might go and watch last night's EastEnders.... Got multi room the other day, so now have HD Sky plus in the living room and Sky plus for all the boys stuff in the palyroom, such decadence!

I wonder what Spin is up to? Too busy to post I guess, I never find time these days.

Toby has his induction afternoons coming up over the next 2 weeks and I think our parents evening is coming up....hope we get wine not salad, although would you get wine at a church school? I heard this morning they are thinking of reducing the drink drive limit by half, so that will put paid to most of my drinking!

Love to all

Bloss

HumphreysCorner · 17/06/2010 10:36

We won't, just need a wacky title so still thinking of one.......

Lovely to hear from you Bloss.

Need to share that I have used Oven Pride (£2.60 from Tescos) after a recommendation and it is brilliant. Removed all the brown bits from the shelves and the thick gungy grease off the glass doors. Going to get another pack and use some of the solution in the oven.

Waves!

HumphreysCorner · 20/06/2010 13:21

Have to confess I got the letter from school on Friday inviting us to a welcome meeting and Sophie for an afternoon trial and I burst into tears in the playground. I am so not ready for the adventure ahead.

Hi spin!

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 22/06/2010 13:33

HC She will be fine! As will you.

Hi Spin. Good to hear from you!! Hope that last exam went well. Come back to us, we miss you x

Bloss well done on the swim. How do you find the time to squeeze everything in?! Gym, squash, swimming... children, work?!

Mimi is off nursery this week as she has a throat infection and is on antibiotics. Not sleeping very well at night, sleeping quite a lot during the day... . High temp, coughing... poor thing.

Love to all x

TheGoddessBlossom · 23/06/2010 14:27

Poor Mimi, hope she gets better soon.

As we speak Toby is at his first induction afternoon! He was so excited, and asked me to leave. He did have H there though so....he looked adorable in school shorts and tshirt.

Annie I am very lucky, because I am field based - so if I have to be onsite at a clients I tell them I will get there at 10.30am or so (unless I have a meeting before that of course) and go swimming or to the gym on the way....or leave at 4pm and get to the pool or gym 5pm and have an hour or so before I have to collect the boys from their respective child care facilities at 6pm. Or I work from home and go whenever the bloody hell I like so ner! (to work, not ner to you )

xxx

Ceebee74 · 27/06/2010 12:35

Spin - so great to hear from you

Annie - hope Mimi is better now!

HC - Soph will be fine and just think of all the 1-2-1 time you can devote to Matthew when the girls will be at school - he will love it!!

Josh has got his first 'stay and play' on Wednesday for an hour. Do you know, I can't quite believe that this thread has been going on for so long that we are actually talking about our babes going to school I think that is quite an achievement!!
