Bloss - I am wearing this dress with these shoes plus pink accessories (handbag, jewellery).

But the big news here is that Sam walked tonight It was only 3 steps and more luck than judgement as I think momentum carried him forward but it was still 3 steps!!

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 31/03/2010 14:18

CB that looks very glam!! Good for you!
Well Done Sam!!

Think I've managed to swing it so I don't have to come into work til Tuesday! Yaay!

Have a lovely Easter everyone x x x

HumphreysCorner · 31/03/2010 21:07

Ceebee-love the dress and shoes but gasp at the height of the shoes. Again, well done Sam.

Enjoy the break Annie.

Have a rotten cold starting now. Fed up.

Waves and sniffs.

Hi ladies
Just popping on as it?s a pre-school day today, so nice and quiet, yay! (well till 3pm anyway ) Hope all are well ? it?s bizarrely bright and sunny here today, wtf is that about? Will probably only last to about lunchtime though when the heavens will open again.

Wow Ceebee that is a glam outfit! Very lovely, and respect to you for walking in those shoes. Emma approves (you?ll be pleased to hear) ? she was lurking behind me when I opened your link and said ?oooh nice shoes, they are my favourite colour?.

Oh and well done to Sam

Great news re school Annie, that will be sweet them going off in their uniforms together, aaaw. Gorgeous birthday party pics, what a pair of cuties. Love the one of Mimi sleeping on your lap.

Glad work?s going well Bloss, and hope your holiday?s fun. 60 lengths, awesome! I really don?t think I could even do 2 without struggling, am such a wimpy swimmer.

Big wave to Spin, hope the studies are going well. And hope you?re feeling well Impy, if you?re around

Re family meals, we very rarely manage to sit down together, maybe once at the weekend. Emma eats about 6.30 but that?s too early for us, so we eat after she?s gone to bed, at about 8pm. I do like to relax over dinner, and that?s just not possible with a fussy eating 3 year old The fussy eating really is a pain, food goes in and out of fashion on a weekly basis, so at any one time there is only about 4 ?healthy? foods she?ll eat. She?s a biscuit and choc fiend though, so it?s a battle to limit those during waking hours.

Anyways, apart from that she?s doing fine, growing fast. She?s recently started using the computer at pre-school, so my days of having my laptop to myself are over, sigh. I?m staggered at how quickly she picked up stuff like how to use a trackpad and negotiate the CBeebies website. And it?s horrifyingly Mini Me when I see her sat on the sofa glued to the laptop screen?

Have a lovely choc-filled Easter, ladies!

HumphreysCorner · 03/04/2010 20:50

Evening all

Off to Brands Hatch tomorrow and staying in a Holiday Express overnight with all of us in one room. Am hoping the weather won't be too wet.

Hope everyone is having a nice Easter. Have munched through lots of chocolate already.

Love to all!

CB love that dress and the shoes are divine.

Good luck HC, you are quite bonkers. Hope you get some sleep!

Had a lovely weekend here, lots of time with the boys, had SUnday lunch at the in laws and all the uncles and aunts, played games ate nice food, drank wine. the usual. have managed to ration the choc and sweetie eating of the boys to a large degree, but we have piles of the blinking stuff.

I havae made these these and some carrot and cream cheese muffins which I can't find a pic of. All delish and very very fattening.

DH has been out on his bike all morning so I took boys to soft play with a friend - am off for a swim at 3 while he takes boys to play football. Got the rest of this week off, yay! Going to see Nanny McPhee tomorrow with H, we saw how to tame a dragon on Saturday afternoon, loving it now that the boys are old enough to go the cinema, but god it's expensive!

Speak soon!

and well done Sam on walking!!!!

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 07/04/2010 13:58

Hello girls!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter.

CB how was the wedding? Did you totter elegantly!? Hope the boys enjoyed it too.

HC, how was Brands Hatch? Hope the five of you weren't too squished!! Hope your cold is better, we all have it now - extreme blockage in the head and funny noises...

Bloss your baking looks delish! You truly are a domestic goddess.

Pix, nice of you to pop in!!! Emma sounds like she's getting on great. I have a computer fan in Joey as well, but Mimi seems to have no interest so far. Unless it's a Barbie dressing up game...

We had a good weekend.
Bought Joey a bike for his birthday on Thursday while they were both at school, so it's now rusting in the back alley while we wait for his birthday. Can't remember Friday... Saturday we went swimming in a wave pool and then spent the evening in a pub at a friend's 40th, and then the night in a hotel which they loved! Then Sunday the Easter Bunny luckily found us in the hotel (phew!) and we walked round Henley-on-Thames, then spent the afternoon at another friends, then drove home then zonked on the couch. Then Monday we went to Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes, which was nice but quite tired...
Phew!

Hope everyone is well.

HumphreysCorner · 07/04/2010 21:21

Hi all

Am doing a spin and being busy. Brands Hatch was busy and only Matthew behaved. The girls were a nightmare in their sofa bed so not much sleep was had by all.

Off to Rutland Water tomorrow in the caravan and the weather is supposed to be good.

My SIL's father passed away yesterday and I did know him quite well so will go to his funeral on the 16th. My dad said I don't need to go but DH and I want to.

Annie-hope you all get over the lurgy. DH thinks he is getting it now. Sophie is still full of it and coughing all the time. You have had a manic few days and how lovely to be at Henley-on-Thames.

Bloss-the cinema is expensive isn't it? Enjoy your week.

Have eaten so much chocolate, started on the Easter eggs on Friday as I the girls couldn't wait until Sunday.

Anyway, must concentrate on Masterchef.

Big wave!

Hi all. Sitting listening on a very boring conference call, so a perfect time to post on here.

Week off last week was good, busy, nice to spend some time with H - do wish I'd booked a bit more pyjama time, but I wanted to catch up with friends too, and you can't have it both ways. Answer is to have 2 weeks off I guess!

Straight back into it yesterday with a morning in London and an afternoon in Watford. Home today though, yay.

Harry is at footie camp this week - hated dropping him off yesterday, even though he has been before, as he seemed to be the youngest one there, but he had an absolute ball and couldn't wait to get back there today. I mean what's not to like, loads of kids to play with, packed lunch, football all day in the sunshine! He does make me proud though, such a little joiner, so many of my friends tell me their kid won't do kids club type stuff and he is so brave, it's nothing to him really! Long may that last.

Toby is good too, covered in bumps and bruises though, he is such a klutz! Have abandoned getting him dry and night, it was too exhasuting changing his bed multiple times at 2, 3, 4am. I'll give it another go when his nappy is consistently dry in the morning. I only started as he was battling having the pull up on at bed time, but he doens't seem to mind again now so....

Work is busy but good things going on, hoping to close another big deal soon, so yay.

The boys are playing much more outside in the evenings now that the days are longer, so nice to see some sunshine at last.

Had a good weekend staying with some friends in Stevenage, they have had an enormous and beautiful extention done on their listed cottage, very envious. They live in a picture perfect village, church, village green, duck pond, the works, but they can't wait to move! They are very social, and there is not much to do - she described it as feeling like they had been put into a Witness Protection program which I thought was very funny. Got drunk slowly throughout the afternoon, but did drink lots of water, so felt fine the next day. All good.

Right, I suppose I'd better pay some attention.

Hope you are all well.

Hi Bloss and Annie all

Am back from our jaunt in the caravan. Weather was lovely but DH poorly-ho hum. Girls had a great time playing with new best friends while I drank vino. Not Blossom Hill though as it has gone up to £6.29 per bottle so can't pay that for wine. Yet to find a cheaper version that I like though.

My mower man has not turned up since he did a first cut so the grass is really long. Going to have to find a replacement.

Sophie has turned into a mini Emma so a wildchild. She is now ready for school which is something I never would have thought but am pleased as it will make it easier to take her on that first day

DH stressed at work now that he is going to have to run the place when present tosser manager leaves at the end of the month.

Better press on and look busy.

Big wave to anyone out there..........

HumphreysCorner · 13/04/2010 16:11

Oh, and Sophie not ready to give up wearing a pullup at night. 'Tis sodden every morning. In the caravan had to change it in the middle of the night and the fresh one was heavy.

PixelHerder · 16/04/2010 14:33

Hi folks ? hope all are well

Wow at Brands Hatch HC, that was brave hope you managed to enjoy some of it. too at the price of BH. I always buy 3 for £10 wines on offer at Tesco ? am a bit of a wine tart, am not loyal to a particular brand or type Sorry I forgot you on my last post, was not intentional, I had composed what I wanted to say in my head but for some reason didn?t write it down Know what you mean about them being ready for school, I?ve been a bit traumatised about Emma going so soon, but actually she?s changing so fast now I think she may enjoy it.

Bloss ? H sounds like he?s doing really well Great that work?s going well too. Poor old Tobes with his bruises, I?m sure Emma would sympathise, she?s always covered as well, she can?t seem to run without falling flat on her face

I always get extension envy too, this house could really do with one but we can?t afford to do it while work is so crap. DH still only getting bits and pieces, and I?m kind of restricted till she goes to school ? not long to wait though.

Re the night time nappy thing, we?ve only recently attempted it but I was surprised as she went from having absolutely full nappies to pretty reliably dry (fingers still crossed though) within a week or two. I think she was actually perfectly aware of the difference between wearing a nappy and not, so she was freely weeing away when she had a nappy on, even when awake, bless ?er.

How?s it going Annie ? are Joey?s birthday celebrations finally over yet? Hope he likes his bike. Gorgeous pics on FB, looks like you all had a lovely time. Is Mimi looking forward to hers? Emma is already talking about being 4 (and 10 )

She?s having phases of extreme whinginess and some cheekyness atm, but has good days too thank god. She?s getting into the whole alphabet and spelling thing, fave programme is the Alphablocks, better make the most of it before it?s bloody Hannah Montana (or worse)

Big wave to all xx

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 19/04/2010 11:01

Hello pix, good to hear from ya! Great news that Emma is now dry at night, I have a nearly full bag of pull-ups gathering dust now!! She does call out a few times so I have to leg it in there to make sure she doesn't need a wee, there have been a few leaks but nothing too major. She is waking just for cuddles (and headlocks) which is annoying, I was up about six times last night. But I can't just ignore her in case she needs a wee!
Birthday celebrations are finally over!! Phew! Had a bash on Saturday - meant to be a few drinks with a few friends, escalated into a full barbeque, lots of friends, wine and KIDS! Think there was about 40 in the end. It was great though. Joey had a Mario cake (from Sainsburys I hasten to add) and he saw it in the morning and got all excited cos he thought he was getting a DS... Sorry Joey, just a bike!! And he thinks he's six now, but I think he's joking ().

Mimi is also having phases of extreme whinginess and cheekiness Pix! And then extreme clinginess and cuddliness too. Adorably frustrating.

HC about the Blossom Hill - how annoying! Our local Nisa (costcutter type place) did a lovely Wolf Blass Cabernet Sauvignon for £6 for a while - a great emergency on the way home from work wine, but they've put it up to £9 now! I usually pay about £5-6 for a bottle, except when they're on offer in Sainsburys. Go for the grape rather than the brand, so if you like Chardonnay, go for whatever's on offer.

Bloss, LOL at you MNing during your conference call!!!!

back to school tomorrow.

TheGoddessBlossom · 19/04/2010 13:21

So although enjoying footie camp (and winning most improved trophy ) Harry learnt some big time attitude, having mixed with the big boys all week. At a friends' house for tea on Friday, when asked not to throw toys by my friend, he replied "Actually, I think i'll do what I like thanks"!!!!! He got SUCH a bollocking from me and his telescope withdrawn (present for being good at camp, had had it for 10 minutes). DH went apeshit too.....sigh....

Timed my swim this morning. Gearing up from swim part of Blenheim triathlon in June. Gulp. Should not have gone on their website, scary.

Home today, yay.

Annie, funny reading about Mimi calling for you in the night, Toby quite often calls me in for a cuddle/headlock. 2.33am last night to be precise. "Mummy's SLEEPING Toby!!!!!" Or mummy bloody was sleeping, she's certainly not now.

Ciao for now.

Bloss

HumphreysCorner · 20/04/2010 13:38

Hi all

Have copied and pasted the following:

'We have had a horrible time with my SIL (my bro's wife) since Friday. Quick summary is that sadly her dad died and the funeral was last Friday. After the funeral my SIL ranted and screamed at my mum so badly that mum left in tears. SIL then asked to meet my mum in a local park the next day and she sat and told my mum she was hard, had ignored her father, I had done the same and the reason she fell out with me was not down to me wanting another baby but something I had said. I never ring her to see how she is. My mum talks about me and the girls and looks after my children. She finds it strange. She recalled things that have annoyed her about my mum since she married my bro 20 years ago. My mum says her eldest son looks like my bro which riled her so my mum said that's what Grandmas do. She told my mum my bro doesn't care about my mum. She said she never wanted my mum to look after her boys and the reason we don't go to my nephews birthdays is not because they are too old it is down to us sitting outside in the hot June sunshine at the last birthday instead of sitting inside with her poorly dad who couldn't get outside or eat etc. Honestly, you can't believe some of the things she said, I think she is ill. Her dad has been poorly since age 39 and was 68 (I think) when he died. I rang my SIL to try and mend things as she said she wasn't coming to the Christening and I want my bro to be Godfather. I am going to visit her next Monday so wish me luck. My mum as you would imagine is distraught. I really would like to tell my SIL a few home truths as I can't forgive the things she said to my mum. It was all her being hard done to.

Saw mum last night and she is heartbroken and recalled more viper comments like me going to mum and dad's for tea every week is not right according to her. She thinks I have ignored her as I never ring to talk about her problems. I did try but she was horrible about us wanting baby no. 3. She has told my mum that she can't talk about me or DH's family as she doesn't want to hear it. I could go on and on. My dad is fuming and said he will never speak to SIL again so I imagine what will happen at Matthew's Baptism on the 6th June.'

Evil witch!

Pixel-well done Emma. Am really going to have to press on with getting Sophie dry before she goes to school.

Bloss-sorry, but did smile at Harry's attitude. Emma as you know is full of it and directed some at the poor lady in House of Fraser who obviously said the wrong thing.

Annie-Emma is getting a DS for her 7th B'Day in July. Got a good deal from Game that included a Peppa Pig game. Bet Joey loves his bike.

Off for a cuppa.

Big wave to all!

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 23/04/2010 17:24

Poor Mimi. 'My ear hurts'... wakes up 14 times a night. DH took her to the doc today, she has an ear infection. Her eczema around her mouth is also flaring up really badly - possibly new sun cream. AND after coming out of the docs, she fell over and got a huge cut on her head. Back into the docs, all patched up. She's ok, but she'll probably have a scar on her forehead. Poor Mimi.

Happy St George's Day

Ceebee74 · 23/04/2010 20:54

Evening all

Josh went through a phase of getting up 2 or 3 times a night for a cuddle/drink/whatever...we soon put a stop to it by just refusing to get out of bed For a few nights, he came in and gave us a cuddle in our bed but that soon stopped - can't remember the last time he got out of bed in the night But, I do still have to lie with him to actually go to sleep at bedtime

Still in pull-ups here at night and I am in no rush to get rid!! Josh went through a (long) phase of pooing in them every morning which usually meant a mess everywhere as they aren't really designed for poos! Over the last couple of weeks he has started actually going to the toilet in the morning for a poo before we get up which is great so I think it is only a matter of time before we can get rid of the pull-ups.

Sorry to be awol - work is just totally crazy at the moment (and not sure it is going to get any better). Sam is great and we are off on holiday on bank holiday Monday - Centre Parcs here we come How life has changed since Josh was born.......

Have a great weekend all xxx

HumphreysCorner · 23/04/2010 21:08

Oh eck Annie, that sounds nasty.

Playdate from hell yesterday then at a children's party tonight until 7-15pm as it was running late. Took my school mum friend's son and brought him home but accidently went through a red light. He has told his mum! Oops!

Have managed to get myself on a BFing Peer Support course which runs for 10 weeks. When I got Matthew weighed on Wednesday the HV mentioned a coffee morning so went and some earth mother said about this course. I said no good as it started at 9-30am so they only went and changed it to 10am so that I could attend. Drat!

Hope all OK.

HC, Mimi's fine again. Ear cleared up enough to go swimming anyway. She still has a bit of a gash on her head, but it's under her fringe, and she seems fine. Showing it to everybody though... Enjoy the course! Are you running it or just helping out?

Right, best do some work...

Hi all

Typing in the dark as not allowed any lights on due to extreme increase in the electric bill. Mastthew must be teething or something as he is crying all the time and wants holding. Nights are equally bad

Enjoyed my BF peer counsellor course that I started on Friday, just another 9 weeks to go.

Diet still not happening. Cutting down on vino still not happening. Never mind. Not long until the election, wonder what the result will be.

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend.

HC you are funny!! Turn that light on girl!
Hope Matthew settles though, poor thing.

Bloss, Minorca, lovely! We'll be in Tenerife then. HOT. Haven't you just been away though, to Egypt or somewhere?

Had a great long weekend - went up North to Flamingo Land, stayed with the PILs, went to the Forbidden Corner - very good for their age group, had lots to drink...

Hope everyone else is grand
