FiKelly · 31/08/2009 18:00

dd2 that is.. how's dd1?

Belgianchocolates · 31/08/2009 20:15

fi You're right. It is worrying that people are wheeling their dogs around like bqbies. I felt sorry for those little dogs. I bet they were dying to stretch their little legs and sniff the lamp posts

jenn I hope your dd gets better too.

Aaw, my dd1 just came down all proud: her 2nd milktooth fell out! She'll be expecting the toothfairy tonight She had been worried about eating all day because of the loose tooth, so it must be a relief for her.

I'll be off line for a little while from today onwards. I think it's only going to be for a week or so.

Night night everyone. All the best for next week

essenceofSES · 31/08/2009 20:41

Lots of interesting discussions on here today! Good to hear that others are in similar situations with their DHs. I think it's predominantly confidence and a little bit of laziness but I've given him enough notice for 24th and I think my cousin coming over will be a good idea.

DS and I are both full of cold this evening - think I'll head off to bed soon.

Belgian - good luck with the move!

Momino · 31/08/2009 21:14

evening all. I think I'm going to bed 'early' tonight. Jennster, hope you get a proper rest sounds like you've had it tough.

ses, hope you're both feeling better.

Belgian, you're prob offline by now, but have a good week too.

Just eating comfort food (cheese on toast) and watching the Fast Show. I've really enjoyed watching the re runs. missed the conversation about it the other eve.

Jennster · 31/08/2009 22:38

Gosh thanks for all the well wishes, I feel like a fraud! I've actually had a lovely day. I'm just very tired. Had family and friends over all weekend. Dh is ace at cleaning and tidying., I've had 2 naps this weekend too.

Jennster · 31/08/2009 22:41

Dd2 has had some paracetamol and seems ok. Dd1 and Ds are ok but absolutely knackered.

Gert2a · 01/09/2009 05:33

Good morning everyone,

I know I'm a stranger to our threads, haven't posted for ages, but been trying to keep up! By the time I've read and caught up I'm too exhausted to post!

But now I find myself awake after a night feed, so thought I'd just pop in and say hello.

Well done to all of you who are moving!

Sorry to hear about ill DCs.

And DHs not putting nappies on babies... very very funny!

We're all very well here at Gert Towers. But am feeling frustrated with E not sleeping through the night. I know I shouldn't have got excited about the 7 full nights of sleep she had last week! After camping at the festival (where she slept through the night every night), we got home and the sleeping continued. It seemed like she'd really 'got it', but then our fighting neighbours woke her during the night, then she caught a cold and is now on 4 feeds a night. Leaving me unable to sleep after the 4 o'clock feed, so I find myself on MN and watching Gentle Ben on Hallmark!!!

I'm sure it won't be long before she's back to sleeping through the night. I'm putting her waking down to either still being a bit bunged up with the cold or maybe a growth spurt. Either way am sure there's light at the end of the tunnel - someone please reassure me that there's light at the end of the tunnel!

FiKelly · 01/09/2009 07:17

hiya gert yes i'm sure E will sleep through again.. G has been similar when she had a bunged up nose. It's very tiring for you in the mean time though. G just gone back to sleep now and wondering if her big brother will go back to sleep too.. he's been pottering around playing in his room for a while..

Febes · 01/09/2009 09:52

My little monster was up 3 times again last night and my big monster woke crying at midnight I hadn't fallen to sleep yet so was really late by the time I got to sleep. I think DD must be teething her canines and molars haven't come through yet and so has been waing all the this which is really unusual for her. DS just seems to be on a permanent growth spurt and he is really bung up with snot and has been for months do you think it could be hayfever or allergies?? Me DH and DD don't have anything like this but he is going through the saline like there is no tomorrow.

Must go and post some bits I sold on ebay and get some vege for dinner.

essenceofSES · 01/09/2009 10:08

Morning all!

I had a really bad night's sleep. I went to bed about 9.30pm and fell asleep within half an hour. I woke up having had a dream about O being missing from nursery after having been accused of bullying my friend's DD. What is that all about??!! He's only 16wks old! Nevermind the fact that my friend's DD is 2.5yo! Anyway, we found him in the end as the childminder had picked him up!!???!
I then woke up and after all that it was only 10.30pm!! I was then awake between 3.10am and 5.30am and just couldn't get back to sleep. DS was fine and didn't wake up until 6.30am!
We then went back to sleep for another hour when DS woke up and projectile vomited all over my side of the bed. I got him washed and dressed and within an hour, he needed a complete change of clothes after an exploding poo!

Surely the day can only get better??!

essenceofSES · 01/09/2009 10:50

Sorry - our day didn't really start that badly did it?! Feeling a bit better now. Think I was just getting fed up with our colds and lack of sleep.

ReeBee · 01/09/2009 13:16

Hi all

gert, febes,* F is also waking up in the night again now. I keep telling myself that it will pass - and it will for you too!

ses, everything seems rubbish when you've had bad dreams and then can't sleep. Have a nap this afternoon if you can. I wonder what your dreams meant? Amusingly, DH had a dream a couple of nights ago that there was a beansprout growing out of his ear... I ask you!

I've had a sorting out and organising day today - DH's first day back at work after two weeks off so have been sorting out paperwork, washing, taking cats to vets, F to doctor about his eye (again...) etc etc. Am now having lunch and a quick MN while F talks to himself on the rug.

Any amount of chores to do this afternoon as well - how did I find the time to do everything when I was working full time as well?!!

FiByTheSea · 01/09/2009 14:00

Just a quickie girls as i'm heading off to the dentist soon... I cracked a molar (which I have a big filling in already) over the weekend... and hopefully going to get it secured before the chunk of tooth that's wobbling comes out!

Because of our decision to go for Nova Scotia I decided to go cloak and dagger name change to something less recognisable to people I know in RL as we are not telling anyone until things are more sorted. This way I'll still be able to chat away to everyone here without letting the cat out of the bag so to speak.

Be back on later and hope everyones days are better than the nights you had last night :-)

Momino · 01/09/2009 14:12

hi all.
gert, good to see you .
ses/Febes, hope you're both better after difficult night/morning.

ree, sent a note on FB. H not too great yesterday and today but maybe aftermath of CP . she's had it about a week now and has an additional rash that looks like eczema but I'm taking her to doc tomorrow. so, decided not to do meet up tomorrow then. sorry.

Harper has been very unsettled and is screaming right now. yes, screaming. she just woke up too early from a nap. and I actually feel like leaving her there as she's been clingy all day and I can't do a thing. so selfish of me as poor LO is prob not feeling well and all I can think of is 'i'd like lunch' (which is what i'm doing right now). i'm so selfish. sorry. i'm going to pick her up now. horrid mummy.

sophietom · 01/09/2009 14:23

Hi everyone- haven't been on MN for a couple of weeks or so and there is too much to catch up on so hope I haven't missed anything major!
Jake is lying on a mat chewing his t-shirt, shouting 'boo!' and occasionally squawking
Hope those of you that haven't slept well get a nap later

oooo ominous rumblings from Jakes nappy - better go investigate (cover my back comrades i'm going in)

Momino · 01/09/2009 14:25

fi at your name!

sophietom · 01/09/2009 14:34

momino didn't see your post before (think we x-posted)but you are not a horrid mummy- don't feel guilty

Momino · 01/09/2009 14:40

hi sophieT, glad all well with Jake and hope nappy didn't get everywhere.

harper has calmed down and had a feed. I guess I'm letting her cling-iness and crying and dd1's whingeing/crying get to me today. I just don't feel like I can accomplish anything. would have liked to go to the park but by the time I got them dressed, H needed feeding. then, dd2 had a full nappy. then we were ready and H exploded. then dd1 had a tantrum because I wasn't giving her attention. and so on.

it's just one of those days. and I've decided to just take it easy on myself and if we stay home, we stay home. anyway, just shared a laugh with dd1 so all is better .

sorry for the memememe post. but the tough moment has passed.

Momino · 01/09/2009 14:43

SophieT, xposted again. thanks for the reassurance.

ladyhelen2 · 01/09/2009 15:05

fi just skimmed last couple of days posting but at your canada news. Beautiful country and strikes me as a wonderful place to bring up kinds in.

llare hope the business move all went well

ses bad nights sleep here too.Must be something to do with the end of summer?? Woke myself up with a nightmare at 2am, then DS1 trotted in at 3.15am just as I had got back off so he had to be returned to bed, R woke at 4am and shuffled around and whinged but settled with his dummy eventually, then DS1 appeared AGAIN at 5am so had to be returned to his bed AGAIN. Then R woke at 6am for a feed.

DH then says, ooh first night DS1 has done without getting up at all. Errrrrr no, DH, not quite.......

Right back to thinking (note: thinking) about packing for our hols. We're off tomorrow. France. Can't wait. Toe nails painted, legs waxed and spray tan booked for later this afternoon. Shame I couldn't shift those last 5lbs of baby weight though in time. That'll be the cake and wine then.....

ladyhelen2 · 01/09/2009 15:12

momimo meant to add, sorry you are having a bad day. My WOnderweeks book says that they get clingy and all sorts (waking up in the night, losing appetite) at 17-19 weeks as there is another developmental stage. Could that explain H's clinginess.

And I think there is a toddler and baby rulebook somewhere that says:

When Mummy has everyone ready to leave the house, you must produce a big poo that will delay departure. If you are unable to do so or a sibling has already applied this tactic, throw yourself on the floor because you must not leave the house without favourite toy. Or try this - refuse to put shoes or coat on, and if this doesn't have the necessary effect of making Mummy's face look like its about to explode, refuse to sit in your buggy. Causes much hilarity for all the family.

ladyhelen2 · 01/09/2009 15:13

Right. Packing......

Reggiee · 01/09/2009 15:50

LadyHelen - ohhh interesting about that 17-19 week stage. Been wondering why ds has not been eating v much this last week - he's erm...actually I can't remember but I think he's 18/19 weeks (Looby how old is M please?).

Momi - sorry to hear H is unwell. I so wish they could talk and explain what the problem is. I feel sorry for ds as he always seems quite sad and I don't seem to be able to make him feel better . I htink he's just a sensitive soul with the world on his shoulders.
I was hoping to come tomorrow but can't quite get my head around it being tomorrow (Bank Holiday and dh + dd at home has thrown me). Consequently, I'm not ready for the week, and tomorrow would have come a day earlier than I wanted it to iykwim. There will be plenty more time to meet up
Good luck at the drs tomorrow.

Llare hope today went well with the move. How's your gran?

Ses wish I could translate dreams! But pmsl that you woke up after an hour - time is a funny thing when dreaming.

Oh, and Sausage - absolutely rofl at your dh and the nappy

FiByTheSea hope the dentist wasn't too painful

Ds been sleeping loads today . He also seems to have grown overnight - I was looking at him on his playmat thinking "I'm sure you weren't that long yesterday"....

muddleddaizy · 01/09/2009 16:27

Hello ladies, Hope those who aren't feeling well get better soon and the lo's. Momino - my ds was worse after the chicken pox cleared. In fact both ds's have had back to back colds for months now - I'm dreading the winter!

Grumpy hope you're settling in well.

Fi great news about Nova Scotia. I understand that it'll be difficult for your parents, but they will have to adapt. You need to put your family 1st now, as you say you'll only be 6hrs away and they will be able to get all the help the need. Hope the dentist wasn't too traumatic!

Llare hope the move goes well today.

Oh er I can't remember anything else, sorry don't mean to ignore anyone. I just have a really bad memory atm!

We did go to Greenbelt in the end. I think that free tickets our friends had swung it for Dh in the end!! We ended up going on sat and sun. It was great to catch up with the friends and my friend is 11 weeks pregnant after 2x mc's in the past yr, so its looking good Ds1 was a handful and would run off at any opportunity. Infact he managed to get onto the racecourse and legged it, so Dh had to vault the fence and run past loads of people in one of the session. It was rather amusing in one way, but frustrating that ds1 won't listen to us.

I packed ds1 off to the nursery this morning and had a phone call an hour later saying could I pick him up as they were shortstaffed. I was rather annoyed but what can you do if loads of staff choose to pull a sicky the day after a bank holiday

I to have a clingy miserable ds2 so I guess I'd better go and get him. I don't suppose it could be teeth could it?

sausagenmash · 01/09/2009 17:24

Aaargh M woke up at 4.30 screaming. Bottle didn't help. Thought a nappy change might do the trick as there was lots of farty noises. Good Lord, I have never seen a squishy poo so BIG in a little nappy! Bit weird, as she hasn't poo'd in the night for AGES. She still wouldn't settle so we both went into the spare bed to let dp snore away by himself. Drifted off around 5.30. Heard alarm go off at 6. Heard it go off on snooze for the next bloody HOUR. Dp comes in, wakes me up at 7.30 to say hello. BUGGER OFF!!! Have driven to parents as am visiting a friend who lives near them tomorrow. I nearly fell asleep on the M4. Snoozed to naff Jason Priestley movie on channel 5. I'm having an early night tonight.... I can't honestly remember when I last had a good night's SLEEP!!!!!! HELP
