You sound really tired MissJ. The times I've nearly lost it on the drive from York. I hear ya, and know how you feel.

Yay for nappy purchase Dog The lady thar runs this site was on the cloth nappy thread for a while and is lovely. Am lusting after a cushie tushie bumble bee. But also need a wet bag from nappy wardrobe - they rock!

OOooooh Dog wait till you see these for washable nappies when out and about and swim kit etc...

Promise tihs is the last pic I put on my profile, but as FB won't play ball I have put our radio flyer all terrain wagon on there.

Hatts is nearly rolling over, is on her side just isn't pulling her arm through. Nearly though!

For used nappies as it's waterproof - or swim stuff etc.

It was £150 plus extra for the canopy.

...but it has big fat tyres for going over sand.......

I'm going to chuck all we ever needed into it, plus Hatts on a pillow, and bezz off to the beach tomorrow. Fabbo. I'll have sling too, so if dd1 wants a rest they can swap.

You can get a trailer for it. And a cooler bag. Ohhhhh my!

treedelivery · 16/08/2009 22:48

That, btw, is my mother not me. Although I probably look just like that

Dh's car cost £300!!!! It's not as red as the wagon though.....

Off to bed, to dream of my wagon and hope for sunny day tomorrow. And a parking spot at the beach

missjackson · 17/08/2009 00:41

Tree Amazing wagon. Truly love it. Love also your nappy collection and those bags. Love the spotted owl fabric. Think I need one as at the moment I use plastic nappy bags to take home my ittis thus ruining my eco cred somewhat. What size do you think for 2-3 ittis?

OK shoppers, what would you get for a special boy to wear to his uncle's wedding in Oct? Want something trendy and comfy rather than 'smart'.

missjackson · 17/08/2009 00:44

dog very hard to spend time up there without ILs - and I do like them but just not all the time. Just want some time together, just the three of us . Trying to count my many blessings but feel like none of that counts if we don't get to experience N growing up together.

chefswife · 17/08/2009 05:41

Hey All!

I've been very computer lazy lately. But I am caught up on this thread... Yeah!

lennied Sorry for sounding so flippant about babes plastic bag swallowing on Facebook! I didn't realize it was so severe... I didn't read all the posts... Are you still having to check?

hkz Beach holidays... holidays... oh, I wish I was on holiday.

pat DH and I hummed and hawed about staying in London or leaving and (obviously), we left and came back to Victoria. There is some great shopping here, good schools, good restaurants, etc but not the gargantuan metropolis like London. Plus, we will be traveling to London every year so LO gets the best of both worlds.

DD is doing well and is happy. Still not crawling as such but does shimmy across the floor and sits on her knees. She is also getting 4 top front teeth at once! Its been tiring around here. No crying really but very clingy and not sleeping for long sessions. Our first birthday party last Saturday was a blast. It was a girl in the moms group... (I am going to refer to them from now as The Girls) and so it begins. The next one is Sept 5th. Its great that the kids birthdays are spaced out perfectly. Violet is the last one.

DH said the funniest thing to me this morning. He was quite serious though but it made stop, think about it and laugh out loud. I didn't turn on the dishwasher last night because it wasn't full enough, however all the baby spoons were dirty and in there. I was having a lie in and when he brought me my coffee, he very seriously said, 'Can you turn the dishwasher on (ok, sorry, this is me. I'm frickn' laughing out loud right now writing this!), at night next time. I had to wash one of Violets spoons'. After a pause, and he'd walked out of the room, I called after him with humour in my voice, 'Are you complaining because you had to wash a spoon? A spoon?' Nothing more was said, but I laughed to myself in bed thoroughly enjoying my lie in.

Have a great Monday!

rrrayray · 17/08/2009 09:49

Hey all.

Am afraid am not caught up.... But saw your a bit frazzled missJ

Esme has woken the last 3 nights at 3am SCREAMING.... She isn't hungry, and there is not really any signs of Teething, but she STILL has a cold. So i am thinking when she comes into a light sleep, she is so snuffly that she gets a bit upset. I have ended up bringing her into our bed, and OH is a rough sleeper and flings himself everywhere, so he has trotted off to the spare room. Its a bit odd- ususally she's very easy to read, but i have no idea whats up with the poor poppet.

Any ideas on how to get the cold shifted? its really been about a week now. Poor snotty nosed bubba!

ps, Excuse the selfish post, haven't time to catch up & just needed to pick your brains! xxx

had a panic as couldn't find poos and jumperoos!
top weekend back soon

PatTheHammer · 17/08/2009 10:41

Ray- Try a vapouriser in her room, they plug in (Karvol and calpol make them). Or try steaming bowl with Olbas oil (doesn't last long though. I drop Childrens Olbas oil on their sleepsuits or put bit on tissue and put under sheet/pillowcase.

Blocked up nose IS a sign of teething, Zach always gets one when teeth are due so I hope this is the answer to your poblems .

Good to see Chef- LOL at the spoon. Bloody hell, men get my goat sometimes. Calmer mood with DH this morning.

DS didn't wake till 8.15am this morning, from 7.15 last night, I could get very used to this as not done a night feed for a week. It will NOT last though so best not become too smug

Off to make a picnic as out with a friend in a moment,
catch up later.

missjackson · 17/08/2009 10:55

Morning everyone. Feeling a lot better this morning after minor melt down last night. Thanks for nice comments and cyber hugs. OH was lovely and is going to try to finish early some days. I've just got to hang on for the rest of the busy time - till end of Sept.

Can't wait to hear about your w/e qumps - sounds lovely! Maybe I should book something like that for us, or even better, a week away! Good inspiration qumps.

ray sorry to hear that Esme is still snuffly - poor thing. No ideas I'm afraid, other than your steamy bath method. N was the same last week, and I ended up taking him to the docs, but if there is no temp it is not bacterial, so antibiotics no good. Can you believe we still don't have a cure for the common cold?

dog if you want my strawberry fields you are welcome, honestly. I like it but am equally happy to get another colour - but it's large, and I doubt Isla would fit it yet? Let me know if you want it. Have you decided on name change yet?

Talking of which - if we wanted to change the babe's names now, would we have to do deed poll, and would birth certificate always read original name? Am regretting my middle name choice. dog, have you looked into name change logistics at all?

missjackson · 17/08/2009 11:03

Have just found this about name-changing. Can do it before 12 months on birth certificate if forenames only. Yey! Otherwise massive hassle for the rest of your life because you will have to produce birth cert and deed poll change.

rrrayray · 17/08/2009 12:39

Pat Your never ending fountain of Knowledge! Shall jet down to Boots & Get vapouriser for room once OH home from training. Have got some 'snufflebabe' stuff from when had a cold when VERY dinky. Had no idea snuffly nose sign of teething........ All makes sense now!

Picnic sounds lovely- making the most of the LOVLEY weather, eh?

Is currently refusing to nap & whimpering to herself. One of THOSE days i fear!

missJ How funny you and dog changing names. Didn't think Esme was too common, and loved the uniqueness of it, however have met quite a few Esme's recently, and LOTS of people with middle names of Mae. Hmmm.....

Chef Lol @ spoon at lie in!!!

tree Did you go to the beach???

tinkistheresidentshopper · 17/08/2009 13:00

poor esme - when bracken had a cold put some karvol capsule onto a musi and hung up high and gave her calpol

wow @ trailer

still bemused @ brackens first tooth on sat and now no sign of tooth since sun. she has lots of yucky poos seems to be doing loads in one day,bad nappy rash is getting better with cream.

cant wait to order first lot of boden bits tom hoping the code lets me do it more than once

MissJ - I think Octo suggests med or large. She's on the nappy thread if you want to pop in and ask. She gives a mn discount I'm really sorry you are glum about the summer. Honestly, it will soon be over. And there will so many milestones to come - that he will be there for. That he might miss in another job. It's swings and roundabouts really. But big virtual hugs. Buy a nappy bag to cheer self up!

Chefswife - chortle at spoon washing. Maybe he had a thing about clean spoons, and minions at work to wash them for him

Ray - sit her in steamy steamy bathroom, and srinkle karvol everywhere. Its a bugger isn't it.

No beach DD1 ill again, temp, no voice, floppy and grumpy but trying to be nice and cheerful. Really clumsy and hopeless bless her.
So last night Hatts screamed till about 1 am, then Jess woke and was up and down in between Harriets grumbles. It was almost a relief to get up this morning.

House like a bomb site - trying to motivate J to make Nanna a lifesize painting of herself for a birthday card. It's abandoned on the floor, so now have glitter and sparkles and paint all over the shop.
Not a great say - hope for a better night for me folks - I'm on my knees a bit.

Tink - no problemo

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 16:26

OOO new sling arrived -from mumsneter. Its a Kozy and she's light as a feather in it. Fab. Roared like a lion to get out of it but have hopes it may prove usefull Its got paint on it already

Going to have to get sorted for crawling phase, it terrifies me. I can't go 3 steps without getting a bead between my toes/smear of glitter glue on leg. Eek!

Bummer dog about the Itti - but hurrah for discount. Get a Cushie Tushie [cos I want to and can't].

Realised why we have been feeling flush recently - forgot to tell tax credits dh has a new job. Arse. I think the titting about and stress involved nearly mean it would be easier to do without the blooming things. Grrr.Bet we owe a shed loads. Tut.
