OOO new sling arrived -from mumsneter. Its a Kozy and she's light as a feather in it. Fab. Roared like a lion to get out of it but have hopes it may prove usefull Its got paint on it already

Going to have to get sorted for crawling phase, it terrifies me. I can't go 3 steps without getting a bead between my toes/smear of glitter glue on leg. Eek!

Bummer dog about the Itti - but hurrah for discount. Get a Cushie Tushie [cos I want to and can't].

Realised why we have been feeling flush recently - forgot to tell tax credits dh has a new job. Arse. I think the titting about and stress involved nearly mean it would be easier to do without the blooming things. Grrr.Bet we owe a shed loads. Tut.

tinkistheresidentshopper · 17/08/2009 16:30

tree - sling sounds good shame dd still ill

i have 4 weeks from thursday till atlanta starts school half way as she broke up from nursery 4 weeks ago!!

PatTheHammer · 17/08/2009 16:55

Gosh Tink your schools start back late don't they. I go back on the 2nd Sept . Or is it reception that start later? What a long hols though!

Tree- Yay for sling, boo for Hatts crying in it though. And boo to evil tax cedits, we are in dispute with them now as they claim we owe them money, errrm no as we have only ever been entitled to basic and thats all we have ever got and since we still earn under the threshold we are still entitled to , erm, that will be basic then?

Ray-just remembered that tilting the cot also helps at night. I love that snuffle babe, reminds me of DD when she was a baby, god she was a snotbag!

Dog- Boo about the nappy, buy MissJ's off her for when Isla has a big fat bum (probably never she is such a petite princess compared to these big bovver boys!).

Books- hell yeah! Still on for tomorrow! Thinking of eating a very low cal dinner tonight to leave room for a cake . Be there at 10.15 hopefully!

Qumps-glad you had a fab weekend!

MissJ- If you do book some time away in Sept or something at least you will have some 'family time' to look forward to and might help you get through the next few weeks?? Nights are drawing in I fear though, our babies first summers will be gone all to soon . Enjoy London, when you off??

Had a Fantastic day at local Bird and Deer Park, Its a fab place for a picnic. Beautiful gardens with little playhouses for the kids and loads of space to run around. You can feed all manner of birds, hand-feed tame Deer and pygmy goats, feed some greedy trout and groom and touch the donkeys. There was a gorgeous foal there too, so sweet! Weather fab too so not a bad day out for a fiver .

Anyone know roughly how much it is for removal men? I know it is different for how much you have etc but we are only going round the corner and I need a ballpark figure so I know we are not being ripped off when I get people round for quotes.

PatTheHammer · 17/08/2009 17:02

Oh and Tree-loving your nappy wardrobe, H may scream and not sleep a lot but at least she has the best-dressed bum in town

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 17:04

Hell yeah!

LenniEd · 17/08/2009 17:55

No idea on removal men Pat although I really should know since we used them 3.5 years ago. I have forgotten a lot in that time though - and gained two babies. I think the two are interlinked.

MissJ virtual hugs on their way, hope you are feeling brighter. These things come and go with me, sometimes I adore havig my babies all to myself, and other times I long for help and freedom. Get yourself to London and enjoy yourself, should be a tonic and booking something for later in the year sounds a great idea. We are looking at going to a German Christmas market - perhaps Cologne. Took DD to Munich when she was 1 and had a great time.

Off again, sorry to be AWOL - visitors, business etc etc all combined. Need some sleep too - but looks like that'll have to wait until erm... 18mo maybe, surely not again

Hi everyone - no time for proper catch up but wanted to say thanks for all the nice words. Am feeling better today and OH made it home for lunch so that was lovely . And got a new iphone so that helped .

Off to London in about 20 mins - OH just giving N his bath and then he should go off to sleep in the car - fingers crossed. Will not be able to deal with another car journey of screaming baby in the back.

Hope to post from London - no excuse now I have the iphone! Back Thursday night x

LenniEd · 17/08/2009 20:10

Dog how long is your lease? Are properties selling there at the moment? Really feel for you, after all the excitement of finding that place hugs coming your way and wine...

MissJ Have a great time and hope journey goes smoothly. Get yeeself out socialising with your little socialite son and you'll feel much brighter... plus there are shops in London I think Dylan might be in need of a wardrobe update by the time you come home

I'm back and refreshed in a mental if not physical way.
Weekend was fantastic with 2 nights sans children. Went to the O2 to watch basketball on Friday with a bunch of friends. I had never been and was a right little tourist with my camera out. Made a totally blonde comment as we got off the tube asking where it was, as I only looked straight ahead at the high rise, rather than left. Got lots of abuse. Was slightly distracted from the game as Jeff Brashaw (sp) was there with one of his and Jade Goody's sons. He was a gorgeous looking little boy and I couldn't take my eyes off him thinking how sad it was for him. He was a right little monkey though and was threatened with no legoland the next day at least 3 times.
DH played at twickenham on Saturday and we had an absolute ball. The boys loved it and were like street urchins they were so filthy by the end of it. A had a rugby shirt with daddy's name on down to his ankles and thought he looked gorgeous, He wouldn't take it off all day. All the family went and lots of friends with kids too so they just ran riot while I managed to have quite a few drinks S had a whale of a time being passed around everyone and clapping in the stadium. I was a bit worried he might freak out but he squealed with delight everytime a big cheer went up and joined in. DH team went pretty well but lost in the final. He was gutted but pleased to have lasted the day in one piece. Mum and dad then took the boys home with them and we had a mad night out and didn't get home until nearly 3! Lovely morning on my own on Sunday as DH playing again so was gone by 11. I got up at 930 to say bye to friends that stayed and then at 11 took the papers back to bed (sorry blatent showing off and sorry to all who haven't had a lie on for 6 months). Anyway went to watch DH play with the family and the boys in the afternoon and then finished the weekend off nicely with a chinese and the athletics. Life does not get much better than that
Took S to see specialist in London today. Rather than reduce his meds he has doubled them I was really surprised but he said it was really important for his development that he got through weaning well. He said I can introduce wheat at 9 months, egg at 10, soya at 12 and then dairy at 14. Also said citrus were fine to have now and to introduce some fruit juice to keep his bowels moving. Good to have some more advice as it seems like ages since we have seen anyone but sad that I can't reduce his meds. Still he said the increase may well help with the sleeping so fingers crossed.
And last bit of yacking on from me but S has managed to get his bum in the air today and propel forward. I fear crawling is around the corner. Help!
Have read through and gald to hear you are all ok, despite a few hiccups along the way. Kitty Tree and Dog big hugs and waves to everyone else.
I'm keen for a London meet up too. London baby!

LenniEd · 17/08/2009 20:13

And Tree - sling sounds fab, and I'm tactfully ignoring your mention of babyproofing - DS fell off our bed yesterday morning, thankfully onto a discarded pillow - Phew . I'm starting to feel like he's living precariously what with the plastic incident (not flippant at all Chef - your message was funny and made me feel better!) and need to sort DD's stuff out before he gets something less sensible than plastic in his piehole.

qumps · 17/08/2009 20:13

Oh Dog that's rubbish news. Let's hope it doesn't sell. Do your best to jepordise it in every way.

qumps · 17/08/2009 20:16

Lenni that's why I am worried about crawling. Ds1 has lots of intricate toys and jigsaws all over the floor at the moment and goes mental if S manages to touch them. Life will be tough when he can crawl right over it.
S ate loads of grass today if that makes you feel any better!

LenniEd · 17/08/2009 20:17

Qumps - far too much to process a response in fact but sounds amazing. A few more for good measure - they were just for the papers in bed part!

qumps · 17/08/2009 20:18

I know it was so fab. And dh made bacon sarnies. And I had the times which we buy and the news of the world which I would never buy but friend did and it was full of brilliant trash.

qumps · 17/08/2009 20:20

However am now on my own for 2 nights and then dh also away fri to sun. Meant to go to parents tonight but journey back from hospital took for ever so bailed. Will regret it in the morning.

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 20:45

Oh dog Feck!!! Feckity! Feck! You must be totally pissed off. for you.

MissJ - am totally I really want to take dd for a girle weekend to London but can't afford ££. Have a great time and enjoy the time away, and getting back too.

Qumps - to you too you sound really happy .

Here's another

kittypink · 17/08/2009 21:01

Heloooooo ladies!

Ava sleep update... She is in her own room! We realized that we kept waking her up by moving around. I wish i had looked into co-sleeping earlier as I would have got her used to it, but hay ho.

It was her first night last night and it wasn't so bad. She kept holding my hand on her face so I wouldn't leave which made me very . I do think (hope) its for the best though. Is very weird not having a cot in our room.

I have decided that cc is not for me. I'm not strong enough. I'm trying a little routine of giving her her dummy back, hand on chest, shushing, then picking up if she really cries.

What do you guys reckon?

dog thats pants, we had that happen to us. We did however end up in a much better yet cheaper house, so you never know, silver linings and all.....

tree sling sounds great, I still get Ava in her close baby sling. Not for long though as she is a giant and I am not the incredible hulk (although DH does wonder sometimes!)

qumps sounds lovely, glad you feel refreshed. ()

kittypink · 17/08/2009 21:05

Have any of you guys seen the Dr Sears website? Its really good. will attempt link when DH is around to doitforme show me how.

stripeywoollenhat · 17/08/2009 21:11

somehow i seem to have a lot of catching up to do...
dog for you. they must have known when they let it to you, the gits.

qumps . seriously, bed with papers on sunday morning? i think i'm eighteen years off that happening again...

lenni - hope the visitors and other busyness is enjoyable (though obviously it couldn't be expected to compare with loitering about on mumsnet)

missj - enjoy london, glad you are feeling happier

so dp has gone off to london to visit her mother for the week and i am in sole charge of the infant. house already looks like a bomb has hit it. her trip has coincided with one of the flippin' cats bringing home a flea and depositing it in our bedroom(think it's only one, fingers crossed) so it's a laundry nightmare here and i am sleeping in c's room with her while the chemicals fade away. can't really blame them, we forgot to do their treatments. am slightly blaming them anyway, though, cos i'm nasty like that.

c is teething something 'orrible, poor girl. howling when she tried to feed before sleeping. hope they cut through soon.

she has also suddenly taken to launching herself onto her tummy and then crying because she can't do anything else but roll onto her back. i think the next couple of weeks may be a bit testing for all of us. today she launched herself further than usual and i suddenly discovered the perils of infrequent hoovering....

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 21:14

Link is easy. look at the page you want us to see and copy the address in the bar, using the left click onthe mouse.

Come to the mn page and type your message and put then left click and paste and then and bobs your uncle!

After you have pasted in the address, you can write hear, or look at this, or buy this, or whatever, and we'll see that instead of the full www..........

Have a go!

I think your settling methos sounds great! It will calm her if she just needs a little reassurance and a little love, but you are there to save her if she revs up to full melt sown terror mode. And the hopefully the little pats and shush will stop that happening most of the time

So why does mine only go to sleep in my or dh's arms, buried in an armpit?

Y'ok Dog?
