Oh no dog!!!!! It will take a while to sell in the current climate, just such a PITA when you have just moved there and are loving it!

Catch up with all later.

kittypink · 17/08/2009 21:22

stripy Poor girl, have you tried giving her a cold teether before feeds? it can help if the action of feeding is making her little swollen gums sore. Also you can get clove oil, put a few drops into a couple of table spoons of olive oil (or similar) and either rub it onto gums or put in on a corner of a tea towel and freeze it.

I have tried the first thing but not the second as Ava had finished teething (temporarily) when I found out about it.

Homeopathic teething powders are good, Either Nelsons or Boots, which is the same but cheaper!

Of the teething gels, Dentinox works really well (and instantly) for Ava.

kitty - she is addicted to the teetha sachets, she shouts at me if i take too long opening them. i am thinking of trying one myself to see what the big deal is. i might give the cloves a go. gave her a half dose of calpol because she was just not going to be able to drink but don't really want to make ahabit of it

kittypink · 17/08/2009 21:38

Hurrah it worked, thanks tree. stripy I know what you mean about the calpol. Its a tricky one. hope the clove oil works. just put a couple of drops to a couple of spoons oil to begin with. Clove oil can burn if used neat. There are sites with different versions on, If I find them again I will do link, as am now expert!

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 21:53

Stripey - they taste sweet I think the remedy is in lactose powder of some form? Or did I dream that?

I had some of Hatts and felt better, so now I have the Boots pastilles which we all pop merrily as and when the nerves start twitching.....

Yay Kitty get you cyber queen

Poor Dog

Thought you meant India and Thailand was where you were moving then - was about the post about a silver lining and all that! But you mean live at their house.

Feckity Dog. Arse.

No way of a mortgage, no shared ownership schemes? Ours is over 32 years which helped alot, although we are doomed to never ever retire adn potter around garden centres.

kittypink · 17/08/2009 22:30

Its not selfish at all dog you have a lot on your mind. I'm glad you have somewhere to stay while you get sorted. I really hope it all works out for the best, mortgage is a bit brave though. Don't reckon I'd dare!

kittypink · 17/08/2009 22:31

cluck!

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 22:34

Mortgage - just depends on how you look at it. In some ways it's less scary, the rug can't be pulled from under you like this. And rent has to be paid, just like the mortgage, so really......it's just rent to a bank instead of a landlord. And maybe one day it will be yours, if you don't remortgage every 3 years to go on a nice holiday

I'm sure there are shared ownership schemes where you are Dog?

Have a look when you can face it. I think there would be a way for you, if not right now maybe in the next year or so. Give you a chance to build up the credit rating too Lots of people forget their monthly cc repayments and so on.

Talk to a bank, see what they say in principle.

kittypink · 17/08/2009 22:51

Am signing off. goodnight!

hope you manage to get some rest dog.

Do - although it might be depressing so do it when your in the mood! If you are both first time buyers there is some help out there I think. Good luck chuck.

EachPeachPearMum · 17/08/2009 23:06

Oh dog that it just awful news. I'm so sorry for you guys... when that house seemed perfect for you. They are real gits, because they must have known they were selling before you took it.

tree where is the bookcase in your front room from please? (white, with the drawers at the bottom, christmas tree picture)
Oh- you have an easy christmas name.... ChristmasTreeDelivery!
Where's your DM name gone? Mine was ace I tell you...

books/pat see you tomorrow

haven't posted- too exhausted- dd nightmare- we put ds in her room....eek.

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 23:12

What was yours EPPM?

bookcase either Laura Ashley or M&S, I'm totally predictable when it comes to 'interior design' . We have the coffee table, dining table, console [heart the console] and the bookcase. Everything around here looks like it wanted to be on the set of a Jane Austen adaptation but wasn't posh enough.

treedelivery · 17/08/2009 23:15

EPPM - t'was M&S. I remember as we got some chairs for the dining table form these people on the cheap

bookcase

EachPeachPearMum · 17/08/2009 23:19

Oh- they're lovely! I really like it... but a bit steep atm. Need something for the dining room, to put DC's toys on at the bottom, and our paperwork at the top...

Any ideas?

You won't find my DM name... I was pretty incognito 'twas well-received though...
