Congratulations M2L! Looking forward to hearing how you are getting on and how Leah is taking to her little sister.

Disney, Bryony had roseola a few months ago - was poorly for a few days, then just as she was getting better she came out in a rash. It disappeared again a couple of days later.

Minniemummy, Bryony is one of three and I think she gets plenty of attention, it's the oldest who misses out at the moment if anything, though she had much more attention when she was a baby. And as Bryony gets older, I'll have more time for the older 2 again and they'll benefit by having another child to play with. As regards loving three children, I don't think that when you have a new baby that you love him/her any less than the one(s) you had first - I'm sure disney and minipink will back me up on that one!

Lovely weather here today, we went out to a country park for a walk in the woods and a picnic. Bryony was given another opportunity to practise devouring a Mini Milk - she is quite an expert now and only had a few little drips on her dress.

Glad birthday went well bebejones

M2L - wow that's fantastic news - well done!!

Minniemummy - the person you spoke to was being ridiculous - if she was right thwn I nust have quite a few neglected children I have as much love and time for Abbie number 6 dc that I did for ds1.....maybe more actually as I have more patience and perspective now that I am older....and having teenagers and babies is wonderful...well most of the time

Thanks guys, I thought it didn't ring true!! Wouldn't say we are TTC, just thinking about it for now... giving it much thought!
Phoebe's pics look fab on FB, forgot to say last week we had a joint birthday/wedding anniversary/naming party for Poppy, it was all very lovely, I cried during the naming bit and set everyone else off .

P is also a dancer here, both her and DS love Pixie Lott at the moment as they can both sing 'uh-oh' along to it!

Right am gearing up for day 1 (and possibly final day!!) of potty training, I understand what you mean about them being totally ready SK but DS quite often needs that final kick up the bum bit of persuasion to get him to try things. I think if I waited for him to say he's ready then P would be trained first!

hi all,
well had a bit of a not to good day here i went shopping for a few things and left the dog in the garden we were half an hour, my son was supposed to come pick her up for me but he didnt,
cue me walking in and a very angry angry neighbour screaming and shouting at me picked up my sons scooter and threw it on the floor i was like whoa lady what the heck you on girl!
apprantely the dog barked for half an hour and she was asleep ( poor thing lol)
she said its gone on for a year now she pissed about it,
BUT i said you havnt complained before and i know im a very clever lady hun but telepathy has never been my strong point so forgive me for not correcting my dog, and laughed.
she stormed of in a stress......

i wrote her a letter and said shes not to talk to me no more or if im in the street either i dont appreciate bullies and will not tolerate rudeness i also gave her the incident number from the police and next time she will be arrested for threatening behaviour.....how odd though she clearly doesnt like the way i deal with screeching people as im always calm and laugh at them...im the most non confrontational person ever dont see the point,
but il admit she did make me cry i cant stand things like that, it shook me up a bit really, many things annoyed her even me putting my bin on MY drive.... and the fact i leave 3 boys little scooters at the side of my house shes sure 1 crazy female.
apart from that we had a great day really.

my birth story...
well i went to the doctors on wednesday for routine check up, as soon as i entered her room she started speaking of induction, which i wasnt keen for..i then said i wanted it proved that i need induction, so was sent for various scans, results showed small growth and placenta working to hard. advice for induction asap, i said no and i came home to think what i wanted, wrote on mumsnet..and made a decision that il go with it..went back to hospital to be sent back home at 2am..and return at 8 am. i returned was talked through induction and had a 24 hour gel put in... i walked, bounced, rested, pottered around nothing... friday 3am i woke up, bored and i though i need to bounce and walk because they are going to re-assess my condition at 11... well i bounced on the ball for 30 mins, and laid down..i started feeling a tummy ache..and thought has my labour started...
doctor came at 10 am, ctg showing irregular contraction, and i said to her i am in labour, this is what happened with dd, she didnt believe me and said my face says im not in labour ( silly moo) i said to her i dont want my waters broken, she said nothing they can do, i asked how far dilated can i be before u wont break my waters she said anything more then 4cm..so i went walking, bouncing... come 11:30 i was 4cm dilated wooohoo!
i had a brilliant midwife, who i told i wasnt keen on intervention and i wanted a natural birth...she supported me, and didnt really understand why induce me for a small baby judging by my size.
from 11:30 then she checked me, she done a sweep ( whcih was beter then having my waters broken) and then i started getting contraction every 2 mins, stronger and longer... by 1:30 i knew i was in labour, still not that painful, i threw up...and got moved to delivery suite at 2:30...while midwife preparing the room, and i was just laughing with her, dh went to get something...he left my waters broke i was in shock and laughing, midwife checked said i was only 6 cm and said my dh should return quick or he will miss birth, and which point i said he is bloody never around wen u need him! lol as he walked into the room, i had the urge to push ( 2mins later) i panicked thinking im only 6cm, midwife said breath out, i breathed and she was born! i was in shock, 3 puffs of gas and air, it didnt even kick in!!!!
the doctor was horrible, and patronising, my midwife was amazing, supportive, encouraging and gave me the best birth experience from my worse nightmare...

labour 4 hours total!
named aaishah

Pigley - the page wouldn't come up but had a look on Next and they have some lovely stuff! Will have to do a trip to Guildford, thanks for your help.

Minnie - the advice re:shoes that we got is that they should be confidently walking across a room. Absolutely no experience of potty training but I'll probably give the GF method a go when the time comes.

mini - hope the carboot went well for you.

poldera - how was your soup?

Mama2leah - so happy for you that you got a midwife that supported you and had a good birth. Congratualtions

Bebe - glad the weekend went well.

News here, I'm pregnant! Had a negative test on Sunday (the day I was due) and then during my 3rd glass of wine last night I realised I hadn't come on yet. Did a test this afternoon and deffo positive. I am chuffed (and DH very proud of his super sperm), we do want A to have a little sibling (in fact I want 3 children) but I was getting very excited about starting up my personal training business. DH and I have agreed I do more courses whilst pregnant so I can start up properly after the baby is born (April 2010!). We are now going to spend the next 9 months arguing over a boys name (girls name decided).

Wow congrats Libra!!! The ball starts rolling here... who'll be next... does anyone know where that chart was, where we had to score ourselves on who would be next??!

Well done M2L&A!

Potty training mixed results so far, one wee on the toilet, one in the corner of the room when I wasn't looking (but he did manage to pull his trousers down all by himself!) and several accidents so far. Will give it more time tomorrow and then postpone til another time. Only thought now would be good as we can stay at home nearly all week and it's summer. Kind of!

LIBRA WOW! yeah - told you Sod's Law . Everyone will think you even more impressive when you are training them after bubba no2

We were away at Gretna Green for my parent's 40th Wedd Anni. The retail outlet was good - spent a lot of time drinking mochas and wandering. Bought DD a sliver charm bracelet as I want to build up and buy her a charm every year for her birthday. Got myself a lovely pink leather overnight bag (bargain at £30). However, rant alert.....

hotel was minging! Looked lovely on the internet but had more dust than a fusty old museum! I ended up cleaning the place when my parents took the kids out . The people who ran it/owned it were lovely but it was rank! We had booked in for 3 nights dinner but after the first night (bleurgh) decided to go elsewhere. My poor wee chappie has been ill - last week he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract viral infection - by Wednesday he had really bad diarrhoea, we left Thur morning, Friday I called NHS 24 (who could do nowt as they have no GPs until after 6pm WTF?). Saturday we ended up going to A&E in Dumfries and got him timidine cream. Got home Sunday and was back at GP yesterday. His bum/scrotum is red raw and bleeding - it just isn't getting a chance to heal as his diarrhoea is so bad. I took in 2 stool samples today but the Gp reckoned it was the remnants of the virus. GP told me this - I am sharing with you as I didn't know this and it might help you in the future:

If you have had a virus the entire gut lining sheds. It is therefore very important to rest the gut and only take clear fluids for about 1-2 days - if you take anything else then the gut linign will probably shed again. Gradually reintroduce breadsticks, rice cakes, white pasta, rice, rich tea biccies and a little milk diluted with water. Then eventually build up to normal foods again.
Now me I was worrying that he wasn't getting enough vits/minerals and put him back on formula (big no no) and trying to get food into him. If vomiting happens too then sucking on an ice pole was recommended.

There you go HTH.

M2L - fantastically well done - what can I say and lovely name.

I received a call today from the college interview I was turned down for a few weeks ago - apparently they turned me down as I had been out of lecturing for a couple of years (due to having DCs and moving area) and they felt my IT skills were not up to date enough . Really bloody annoying that you take time off to have kids and then are passed by . I only finsihed my degree last year so it is not as if I haven't been doing anything teaching wise grrrr.

Seeing as I won't be able to afford a motorhome for aeons my dad took pity on us and bought us a huge tent at Gretna. it is so we can meet up with them next summer and go camping again (he felt sorry for me in the 2 man tent with 2 littlies) .

My lovely lovely DH is treating me to a night away with my freind this Sat too. We have never had a night out together so after concluding that anight our would probably cost about £80 we decided we would rather have a spa package - got a great deal - Dinner, 2 course lunch, bed and breakfast, back massage, mini-facial and use of facilities for £109! Am sooooo looking forward to it. Got a touch of sciica at the mo' for some reason so massage should be good.

Need to fins somewhere to rent for my prospective new job this week too - need somehwre local but not to expensive or it won't be worth my while doing it.

Well sorry for me me post - hope everyone is well and all you TTC get lucky this month.

SK - how are you and Dh coping re MIL these days?

JODIE - how goes the BS work?

BEBE - how are your recipes and health probs?

PIGLEY - how is your A star doing?

Well I got bored of waiting for DH & FIL to set up new company for me to work for so went and got an application form to go back and work part-time at Baby Gap (what i did straight after uni) I really loved it there & it would be a good stop gap (no pun intended) & intro back into work. Would only be 12-16hours a week & hopefully only evenings and weekends. Plus I would get 30% discount on stuff for P!!

Rumpel - interesting about the poo. P's have not been 'normal' since the pig flu?!?! Could be coincidence but who knows. They had improved but now yucky again!! Have done no more cooking yet this week still recovering from the weekend! Health is ok (ish)!!

Libra - Congrats!!! How exciting, am a little but very very very for you!!!! Can't wait to TTC, all I can think about at the mo, how bad is that?!

M2L - Very pretty name. Glad you had a lovely supportive MW, make all the difference I think!

P is making some progress with her walking, she is doing more and more on her own & walked accross the room last night unaided. She comes and stands up next to me and grabs my hand & pulls me up to come hold her hand while she walks very funny! Really need to tackle her feeding herself I think. She is brilliants with finger foods but not good with cutlery, just flings it around or chews it! Plus she hates having anything textured or lumpy on a spoon. Need to really really move away from puree but it's so tricky getting her to eat anything sensible that isn't 'runny'! Ideas?!

DH's Uncle & Auntie had a baby boy today which is making me even more broody. He is very cute and was 8lbs 4oz with chubby little cheeks!!! Can't wait to go have a little cuddle!

Hope everyone is ok. Probably ought to go spend time with DH!!

Well done P on the walking. oohh a newborn is not good for broodiness!!

Ive been researching swimming lessons today for Abigail as my parents are paying for them as part of her birthday present. Have decided to sign her up for Lessons at the local private school. They have a lovely warm pool with small classes. They teach the children to swim underwater, without floating aids and teach what to do if they fall in. I'm quite looking forward to doing it with her

Libra - wow congratulations, as someone else said sods law too but well done it will all work out for you I am sure and another little baby

M2L - lovely birth story, hope you are recovering well, I know it's a different ball game when you have two, what does Leah make of her new sister? Did you get a good double buggy so you can get out and about? and are you tandem feeding you supermum?

disney - hope you have a better day today

pigley - race you swimming lessons sounds fab, I'm going to start taking B to the local pool once school/nursery is back next week, she has suddenly gone from loving baths to hating them, she hates getting her hair washed and she really needs it washed as she is such a grubby baby. She now stands up and cries in the bath and it is as quick as I can get her washed and out

bebe - job at Baby Gap sounds good, you will spend your wages in a heartbeat though, I had a job at Next a wee while back and ended up making nothing spent it all on the girls

Red - I had noticed Isaidno hadn't posted in a while too but she has been on holiday and I have been following her status updates on FB

Rumpel - mega post sorry to hear C hasn't been well poor wee thing hope he is on the mend soon, you have been a busy bee. We are doing OK as we only saw MIL twice a month at most it's not really sunk in yet. I am feeling quite emotional right now as DD1 starts school Monday and B is winding down BFing too. Also quite annoyed with my Mother well that's the story of my life though

minniemummy - I would say give it a week and if you start to see less accidents then you are on the right track, I am a firm believer in don't stress yourself out abotu things, I know people who have forced potty training and it was a nightmare, I found this with DD1 she started at her own insistence just before two and it was horrendous (she is a very heavy wetter and still goes to the toilet loads) DD2 was 2.8y and did it in 4 days.

right better get off we have a code brown here and need to sort out breakfast

Not this month though as I came on this morning. I was expecting it and knew it would be too late but wasnt going to pass up an opportunity to Practice! Wouldnt it be fab to be on the same Ante Natal club again. I remember us both on the TTC board.

SK LOL LOL LOL at the "code brown" that's a great saying I'm going to use that one!

Well we have progress here- Louis took a few teeny faltering steps this morning, I was in the shower and he stood up holding onto the bath, before he realised what he was doing he let go and did a couple of little wobbles towards me! I was so chuffed, DH was there too as he was brushing his teeth. Am glad we both saw it otherwise I don?t think I would have believed myself. He still has no teeth, hair, words, doesn?t clap, only learnt to point this weekend, no real interest in holding a spoon- and so I was starting to think maybe he was going to stay a baby for ever! But no he wants to get moving on his feet, bless.

Not sleeping through yet either- not even close. Rumpel your stern words don?t seem to have got through yet! He?s an early riser too so yawns all round for family salamander. In fact I?m just off to get some more coffee?

Happy birthday Jodie.

Congrats Libra - how exciting!

M2L&A, what a lovely story. The mw when I had Orlaith was fab, it makes such a difference, doesn't it?

Had a bit of a rough day here - O was up through the night spiking temps over 38. Took her to the GP at 11am (had to take the morning off work) and they sent me to paediatric A&E . She was grunting when she was breathing, and the GP just wasn't happy with her. In the end, the grunting stopped once they managed to bring her temperature down, and they've diagnosed her with a superinfection. Basically, she's had symptoms ever since she had chicken pox, so the infection has been present since then. There's no one thing that's really bad - one of her ears is pink but not red, she doesn't have crackles in her lungs but they are 'snoring' etc. So she has a diffuse infection all over, poor little scrap. We've got antibiotics and hopefully things will start to look up after tomorrow.

I'm knackered now (didn't get much sleep last night) but need to do prep work for a presentation I should have prepared at work today but didn't and need for tomorrow. Best get to it.....

OH, BTW, the soup was lovely with some Roquefort crumbled into it, thanks to whoever asked

Where are you all today? Come on you lot I want some news!

My news: I had cheerios for dinner because neither dh nor I could be bothered to cook. Louis has taken to being swaddled again and goes to bed relatively easily if he's bound up like a mummy. DS1 has said he doesn't want a mummy and boys day tomorrow (my day off) he wants to go to nursery because I am boring. Charming!
