hi ladies sorry I have neglected this thread, I did write a post twice and then for some reason the PC crashed so third time lucky.

First our new arrival, I think everyone who is on FB knows that Jacob was born on 5th May weighing 8lbs 5ozs the same as his nearest sister. Born on his due date in hospital after an induction which was very easy, basically one shot of the gel and away we went, labour was about 3 hours but not that bad, last 5 mins were intense they broke my waters and he shot out. He is just utterly gorgeous and we are all in love with him. Bethany walks about saying "where's baby?" and kisses him all the time. Life is utterly crazy with 4 under 6. Oh the induction was me begging them as the SPD was even worse this time and I needed painkillers just to get out of bed in the morning, plus I was so terrified of having another superfast labour with just the DDs here and no DP. Missed having a HB but it was the right decision.

I cannot believe our babies are almost 2 some already 2. Bethany seems to have grown up so much since Jacon was born. She is utterly mad, think she is four and you cannot tell her she is not. ponto I could have written the same thing about always wanting the other two's toys etc. I have utterly no plans to potty train her probably this year. Based on past experience later is easier. Plus with Jacob around and we are starting to think about extending the house it's not the best of times.

Birthday present wise, we have already given her the sandpit and we have bought a ELC kitchen as well as the other twos was broken, both presents are really for all three of them as we have so much already she doesn't actually need anything. DD1's birthday is also 5 days later so more presents. This house is bursting at the seams as it is, we find out soon if we have planning permission for the extension which will give us 5 bedrooms, a playroom, a bigger kitchen, a "Daddy" room and a longed for utility room, sounds a lot but with 6 of is we are going to need it lol

Disney - Samuel sounds like a star, much love to you and your family like pigley said you don't have it easy do you?

libralady - ouch on your back hope you are recovering, I saw the pics of Luke on FB he's lovely

ponto - Bryony sounds so much like Bethany, we already have a trampoline and we cannot get her off it, she cannot get on it but drags you over she calls it "ning ning" or something, she could bounce on it all day, it's a great present.

minniemummy - already know your story from the May 10 thread, glad you are both recovered now

Right better go WW3 is kicking off upstairs

Hi all not been on for ages - life is just busy as you all know! Finally read your birth stories ladies - always makes me cry now to hear and see birth stories.

Our littlies are not so little anymore - sob! My Calvin is ferocious and into EVERYTHING. He just doesn't give a shit if you tell him off either - just gives you this 'look' and walks off - grrrrr .

I am constantly amazed at how our 2 are so different - C seems way ahead of A in speech and dexterity in age comparison IYKWIM.

LIBRA - didn't realise you had prolapsed discs - ouch - very painful!

I don't know how you laides with illnesses manage so well. I am a crabbit cow most of the time (lack of sleep) and feel really achey in the morning so must be hard when you have MS, disc probs - whatever. Admiration to you all.

I wonder how all the other little July 08s are? Twinkles boys - Calum and Connor is that right? and all the other ladies - where are you come and tell us how you are?

Not doing anything big for C's birthday. Skint after centerparcs and new washing machine and want to give A a birthday party this year as she will be 4 in October. Just going to invite a few friends around for cake and singing

Going up North campning in August too - with parents and bro/sil and 2 nieces - they had a wee girl Isla in May.

Hope you are all well and life is good - take care everyone.xxx

Wow, congratulations M2LAA! I guess it will take some time to get your head around that but there were lots of positive stories on your other thread. If you're really serious about sleep training, I recommend the books 'Babies' and 'Toddler Taming' by Dr Christopher Green. Worked for us 3 times.

Happy birthday to all the 2 year olds. I am feeling a bit mean as I have not planned Bryony's birthday party at all, but might try to do a day trip instead as the older dds are on holiday from school.

Tantrums seem to have calmed down a bit at the moment thank goodness, there is still a lot of fighting between Bryony and dd2 over toys though.

Was looking at thread title - do we need an age 2 thread?

M2LaA - WOW, congratulations! I'm sure when you are over the shock things will be fine! And it'll be lovely when they are older.

Ponto - I thought that about the title too! Looked at the date on first post & it was the day before Ps first birthday (think she was the last one as was so overdue!). Can't believe all these babies are now toddlers!! Where has the time gone?!

Am busy plotting Phoebes birthday party. We have decided to hire the little village hall as our family is so big it's too much to have them all at home! Was actually a bargain to hire & hoping it'll be a nice day. At least it means I won't have to have all the mess at home!

MAMA - hee hee you're goiing to run out or room for your next mn name . Jings - a handful but you will survive - look at the folk years ago who had no contraception and about 15 kids in one room with an outside loo! You survive 'cos you have to. you are quite young aren't you? Should ge yourfigure back and your energy levels in the next 1-2 years and think of the fun they'll all have together.

My 2 are quite good with each other now and can play together mostly quite well.

Congratulations and you are a faby Mummy and verything will work out - big hug ((( ))).

PONTO - I didn';t do much for Amber's 1st or 2nd birthdays. We're having a wee 'do' at home this weekend for him - hoping weather is good as lots of tiddlies. Having a proper party for Amber in October as she will be 4 and starts school next year

Take care all and big hugs to all the wee birthday folks.

Libralady- Ouch on the back! Hope it improves soon.

Rumpel- With you on the ignoring when you tell them off. Abigail has taken to saying no or just looking at you and contiuing what you are asking her to stop doing. Soooo Frustrating!!

Re- other july mummies and babies. Bumped into the other Libra on another thread and shes expecting a little girl in Oct

Mama- Congratulations! You will be such a busy beaver that your snap back into shape instantly! Where you planning to have another so close in age?

Bebe- good idea about not having the mess at home

Abigails birthday falls on a sat. We are taking her to the Zoo on the fri, having a family getogether on the sat then a few friends round on the sun. Phew!

Abigail sailed through her 2yr check yesterday. Above average for everything and praised on her clear speech and understanding.

Lucy is 8 weeks now and doing well. Cant believe how quickly the time is going.

Pigley -Calvin didn't get a check as such - just a chat about how he was. What did they do with A? She has always been a very bright wee thing from what you tell us.

Calvin is a big 2 today - packed him off to nursery bad mummy so am free to tidy up and organise fopr Saturday's party and my parent's decided to pay a fleeting visit from tonight through to Sat morning so lots to do.

Hope everyone is well.

MAMA - 'cos you keep popping out the bubbas so close together you might want to think about taking pregnancy vits and minerals and extra omega 3 oils as your poor body might be struggling a bit -even though you are a young thing. I would have had more kids if I was younger - yours is an ideal age to have them I think. I feel too old and crabbit now to have any more although I would have loved 3 - the reality is I find it too stressful and hard work! ook after yourself. Thread is dead 'cos we are all on facebook LOL!

Well, Orlaith was 2 today, which reminded me to pop in and see how the thread was doing!

M2LAA, congratulations! You'll cope fine because you just will. My mum had 4 under 5 when my twin and I were born, and she says you just get on and do what has to be done.

Had a lovely day with O today - a friend had accidentally arranged a party for her two daughters (roughly the same ages as my DDs 1 and 2) today, so O got to go to their party. Then she chose a birthday cake from Waitrose (yes, bad mummy, didn't make it myself) and we had a party tea at home (which was slightly marred by the stupid bird that's got itself stuck in our chimney, but that's a whole other thread!!). When I took her to bed, she was cuddling up to me and said 'Mummy, my burday. Sing my song.' So I sang happy birthday again. Then she said 'My cake Mummy. My blow' and blew like blowing out her candles. Then 'My pig house Mummy' (Peppa Pig playtent from ILs) and gave a big sigh of contentment and snuggled down to sleep. I think we can say her birthday was a success in her eyes. Hope all the others enjoy(ed) their day as much.

Disney, how are you doing? I think about you and Sam a lot, even if I'm not posting here. Much love to you both.

Off to bed now. Last week of school coming up - wish I was going to be on holiday too!

Poledra, Orlaith's birthday sounds lovely, I actually got all teary reading about her bedtime chat. I am feeling a bit useless because the trampoline we bought for Bryony's birthday tomorrow is still in pieces in the garage as it's raining here so we can't assemble it. She will have some presents from other people to open though and we're going on a trip to a zoo/farm so I hope she has a happy day.

I've finally booked a holiday, we're off to Brittany next week. There's an overnight ferry trip to get through first - here's hoping for a smooth crossing!

Hello all,

Happy birthday to all our Bubbas! Although they arent Bubbas any more

Abigail had a fab birthday. We went to the Zoo on the friday which she loved. Family party on the sat (her actual Birthday), then a kiddy party on the sunday. Very cute seeing her and her little friends giggling away bouncing on the bouncy castle!

She got so many presents its unreal and the amount of peppa pig stuff is amazing! Oh well shes happy

Little Lucy is doing well at 11 weeks now.
Very vocal, cooing and gurgling...Probably trying to compete with Abigail!

Strangely im finding myself wanting another already?! Much to DH's dismay!

Abigail is incredibly chatty now and hilariously funny and cheeky!
Still cant beleive shes 2 though!

After the manic weekend of P's birthday celebrations I finally have time to catch up!

Poledra - O's birthday sounds lovely. What a sweetie she is!

Pigley/Rumpel - P didn't get an actual check either. We were sent a checklist of things she should be doing! Hmm Bit rubbish really, and don't fancy going to clinc to discuss things (as suggested) as you never see the same HV twice!

Pigley - Think P & A sound very similar, P is constantly chatting & is so funny she has me in tears laughing sometimes! :)

Bit of advice needed ladies. P is still a bit rubbish at using cutlery. She can do it physically IYSWIM but if we give her a spoon/fork she plays with it & her food & doesn't eat. If I try and 'help' she screams and throws it/her food on the floor! Hmm She's so rubbish with food that I tend to just let her pick it up with her fingers, but it does tend to limit what I can give her! Mealtimes are still such a battle! :( Any ideas ladies?

OK, so it's not strictly speaking about the July 2008 babies, but I just waved DD2 off on her first day at school.

It's only going to feel like 2 minutes before I'm getting Orlaith ready for her first day, isn't it?

Hi everyone

Congrats to everyone with new bubbas (and bumps Mama!)

Been lurking a bit but so little time to do anything that posting unless on the iphone is hard ;)

Glad things are generally going pretty well with everyone will catch up properly and try and post later. Louis is finally v cute and chatty, sleeping finally good and we have adjusted now to having a spirited child! (Rumpel Louis and Calvin still sound so much like kindred spirits from what you say!!)

I do try and keep up on facebookbut admit that I can't match your real names with mn names!

Wow, activity on this thread, I do miss it!

Poledra, my dd2 has just started school too, my first day at home with just Bryony tomorrow (have been at work last 2 days). It will be very strange being with her on her own, I'm sure she will like having more of my attention.

I'm desperately clinging onto Bryony's afternoon nap for my sanity. Anyone else doing the same? Also considering potty training, but she's about to start at a childminder's for the first time next week, so I thought I'd wait till she'd settled in there as a change of childcare is one of the classic triggers for behaviour problems, and I don't want constant wet knickers!

TheRedSalamander - there is a MN/RL name thread on the facebook group 'July 2008 mumsnet babies'. Doesn't work for those who have changed their MN name in the last 2 years though - can't see you on there either. If you 'out' yourself I'll add you as a friend Smile

Hello Ladies...

Apologise for not keeping up with you all... Life has a habit of getting in the way!

Bebe- Sorry your having such a nightmare with food and Phoebe. Not really sure what to suggest.

Poledra and Ponto- Hope DD2 is enjoying school :)

Red- Glad to hear your all well and Happy :)

Ponto- Abigail still has a nap after lunch. She still needs that sleep and will easily have 2+ hours. Im mor than happy for her to continue that Grin I can usually get Lucy to sleep for an hour at the same time which is bliss!

We have started potty training here. Day 2 today.
Yesterday 1 accident but no potty results, Today no accidents but no results. Either she has a large bladder or is good at holding it. She probably gets into the bath before bed and wee's for england! Hmm

Abigail is a little monkey, cheeky as anything but funny with it. Shes as bright as a button and knows all her colours, shapes, numbers and all the alphabet phonetically. Shes even started spelling out words. Shes been great with Lucy too and very loving. Lucy is now 4mths and is so lovely seeing them interacting with each other.
Def enjoying being a mummy of 2 even though it is busy busy busy :)

Hope everyone is well and happy :)

Gosh, don't we all neglect this thread now most of us are on facebook?! All the babies are now 2 & our thread title is from when they turned one!

Phoebe now has no nap during the day so is subsequently exhausted by about 4.30. But she will not nap Hmm

We started potty training again this week but promptly stopped as it's clear that she just doesn't want to cooperate & it has to be on her terms! She knows when she has had a wee & needs a poo & asks to be changed, but screams the house down at the suggestion that she might want to sit on her potty! I'm still putting her on it at nappy changes & rewarding if she does anything. She also gets double rewadrs if she asks for the potty & 'produces'. Why was I 'blessed' with such a willful & tempremental child?! Hmm :o

Other than the 'terrible twos' (in full swing) P is doing really well. She knows (recognises numerals) up to 10 & can count to 15. She knows all shapes & colours & is starting to 'get' letters too (Thank you Alphablocks) she knows 'P' is for Phoebe coz it is on her wall. Her favourite is 'O' for Octopus! She just thinks it is all a big game! Her favourite word at the moment is 'dangerous' & she frequently tells me that things are dangerous! She is also completely obsessed with Father Christmas. (This started a few months back & we have no idea where it has come from!) So I'm sure we will have a fun filled festive season this year!

She is still a dinky doughnut & in 12-18months clothes, but I guess she was never going to be tall with a short arsed mummy! :o

Hope everyone is doing well (I know most of you are from fb!) M2L&A how are you doing?

to all :)
