Evening all very emotional tonight about tomorrow, also with MIL not being here and the fact that none of my family seen to bother at all SIL and one of DPs aunts called tonight though which is nice.

Bebe - well done P on the wobbly walking, still nothing here, she cruises round furniture and hangs on one handed but will not let go, she is now the last of mine to walk, even DD1 who was 2 1/2 weeks early walked at 12 1/2 months, B was 13 yesterday, not that I am too bothered, she will do it when she is ready and not a minute before plus I know what walking means (they can get into more mischief).

minniemummy - hope your DH extra nice to you today

disney - sorry to hear about your son, don't have a clue about freecycle sorry, how is Samuel these days?

pigley - sounds like you had a fun weekend

Disney when it comes to freecycle like minnie I just take the first person who says please and thank you. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your eldest son.

Poledra - hope you are having a fabulous holiday and the sun is shining for you.

M2L - hope you are getting lots of support and practical help.

Pigley - would the previous owners even recognise the house! Sounds like you had a fun weekend, hope your head wasn't too sore.

bebe - the wobbly walking is adorable isn't it, but the mischief they can now cause is immense!

Jodie - as much as I am disappointed in you for choosing to watch Harry Potter spits on a rare night out I hope you had a good time!

Minipink/Sweetkitty - hope the first day goes well.

Wooohooo, I passed my personal trainer practical exam this weekend so apart from a small piece of coursework that needs marking I'm all ready to go! Alexander spent the weekend at his grandparents and was spoilt rotten and now expects to be hand fed and his food mushed up for him (I usually just plonk it on his tray and let him get on with it!) Haven't joined my atnte natal april topic yet, thought I would get a little further on first. In fact the only people who know are you lot and DH, had to pour 2 glasses of CLOUDY BAY away this weekend whilst at parents. Sacrilege.

Disney- checked and we are going to Scratby. Its a holiday park we are staying in.
We did a caravan park holiday there a few years ago with DH's Brother and girlfriend but this time will be rather different with Abigail. Looking forward to it though as I know she will love it

Jodie- Come on then... Spill the beans on this fab new job of yours

Bebe-Abigail was the same when she first went in her Forward facing car seat. Sat there very quietly looking out the windscreen and wathing me drive.

SK- How did it go?? Any tears? from either of you!

Minipink- Enjoy your first day

Libra- well done on passing your exams

Abigail woke at 6.30 this morning ( nothing unusual there!) but by 8.30 was really tired again so went back to sleep!
Waiting for her to wake up for breakfast before heading into town. Feels like half the day has gone already!

im terrible at links so here goes look for the craniofacial surgery and the picture there is how samuels face will change to its already changing now and (i hate this word) becoming deformed as they put it.

www.barrymjones.co.uk/craniofacial.asp

samuels condition is crouzons. i know ive tried to explain it on here but its too complex for me to say and too much detail.

his op is 10+ hours long and im not doing too well here i need my holiday i need to smile and laugh, need this damn headache to go away...
sorry if you guys dont want to look at it, just some people ask i hope you dont think im throwing samuel at you all the time, i feel a bit selfish right now as i cant concentrate on much else on here.

Evening all

disney - poor Samuel, I have to admit I googled Crouzons just to have a better understanding of what it was as I ahd never heard of it, one thing I do remember was it saying that once the patients have the op they go on to lead normal lives, your Samuel is a fight and a bonny wee boy, he will be fine. Never apologise for having a rant on here it's what we are here for and are always all thinking of you x

minipink - glad your first day went well

pigley - am slightly of you and disney off on holiday, summer is over for us now soon it will be September and then the countdown to christmas will begin

Libra - throwing away wine that must have hurt I am hoping I am not that far behind you on the pregnant stakes, am officially on the 2WW now, after the chemical pregnancy lat month used OPKs and definitely ovulated so fingers crossed. And a huge well done on the personal trainer thing

Right well DD1's first day (most of you will have seen the pics) she was absolutely fine, great loved it, I was OK until I went to leave her in the classroom all the LOs looked so small in their big uniforms, she bounded out later and declared she wants to go every day tomorrow is my first day doing it all school/nursery run myself eek and I am going to see U2 in concert tomorrow night too which I am really looking forward to.

On a sad not really missed my MIL today, only my SIL has phoned to see how DD1 got on, none of my family have bothered I should be used to it but sometimes it hurts a bit when you see GPs fussing round their DGC on the first school day. MIL would have been phoning every 5 mins bugging me for photos

i know sk i lost my mil in 2006 and when every milestone is reached im always happy and then its touched with sadness that she has missed it, and my boys too dont have any gp,s to ask or fuss them, hurts a bit doesnt it, especially when we have mothers that dont seem to care. and that makes me cross.

im busy tomorrow cutting the boys hair and naming all the uniform, dh is away tomorrow too.

im hoping my eldest son doesnt come round knowing dh is away....i know its sounds terrible to say that but my gosh if you knew what he was like to me youd be shocked, and id be so embarrased, its his 21st tomorrow and his last text to me was die and rot in hell bi* , i wish hed get help as hes ill, the gp wants him to see the mental health nurse but he wont....i will be thinking of him tomorrow, with great sadness as hes my son and my firstborn son .

just to say i gave him all i could when raising him, i worked and showed him all the love ever, he wasnt a neglected child at all hes one of these horrible young men who claim they want "respect" but dont know the meaning of the word.

Hi All,

am having a crap time here.

DISNEY - don't now hwa to say really apart from it must be truly awful to have DCS that are ill and in pain a lot of the time. Also when my DH had his accident they rebuilt his face by entering in the upper inner lip and lifting his face off that way - the surgeons were amazing - the only scar is in his mouth. You will be in amazingly competent hands but I'd suggest you start taking some remedies to help you with the stress - have a look at passion flower/valerian type things or homeopathy? As for your eldest son hopfully he will come to his senses when he realises that it is difficult without you always being there to rely upon. maybe he needs someone less emotionally involved to help him see things clearly. Give him time.
JODIE - tell tell and how was your party I'll FB you and check.

LIBRA - well done on passing another milestone. Oh and I mean't sciatica - my back. think it the amopunt of bending over I am doing at the mo'.

M2L - it is really tiring and hard but give it 3 months and you'll be past the worst of it.

SMUDGE - hi and my 2 are 21 months apart - I do find it quite hard but I am older and quiet an irritable person - but it is FAB to see them play and giggle together. I would have loved mine at your age.

SK - How are you coping with Abbie being at school now? also how is the TTCpractice doing

PIGLEY - I always think your Abigail is very advanced for her age.

MINI - how is the job going now?

Hi to everyone else.
My news.

I had a night away with my friend on Saturday at a spa which was lovely as we have never had a chance to have a proper chat before as we always have about 5 Dcs running around. we put the world to rights and made some life changing decisions - on her part not mine.
DH left yesterday for 2 weeks on the rigs.

Calvin has been ill nowfor 3 weeks - i have been at the hospital, GP etc 5 times now. It is really stressful. He just keeps having diarrhoea (his stool samples came back negative) and his bum/scrotum area is red raw, bleeding and agony. I need to change his bum about 12 times a day and he is exhausted and pale. He cries his wee head off when I am changing him - it's awful. I put him on soya milk on Friday but it ran out and DH gave him cow's milk again. I put him back on soya on Sunday so I am hoping it might help - also ordered some probiotics for him. it's really getting me down though .

That's what I mean (Disney) it must be terrible (understatement) to have a DC who has something awful wrong with them and is in constant pain - I really don't know how people cope.

DD is snottey and coughing and being a right whinge at the mo' too. She is being very difficult - I think she is feeling jealous as Calvin is getting so much attention due to him being poorly. She has taken to being defiant and being naughty.

Sorry for the giant me me post - just feeling a bit down today.

On a brighter note I am off to view Dunblane Cathedral tomorrow to see if one of their rooms might be suitable for renting for my new job teaching.

Take care all
xxxx

squishy hugs to all those bubbas ((( )))

awww rumpel must be the time of year with us eh!!!! my theory is if i feel low i can only feel better, im such an emotional person though , yes your right about my son hr does need someone not involved like me,
poor calvin though is is having a rough time isnt he, with him bum so sore though is it his milk or food issues my other lad had thrush so much and it turns out he was a kind of carrier (sorry dont know the prof word) so he was liable to always get it but when we knew we treated it he also had it in his mouth al the time, poor boy though i hope he gets better soon.

with samuels op they are doing a zig zag shape over his head from ear to ear and removing his face this way and eyes etc.... repairing the skull so the brain can grow and rebuilding his face again....
he will have 2 drips running through his forehead and out the side of his head for 3 days they take these out with no pain relief they have told me NOT to go in the room when its done as children need there mums after.

im looking forward to the holiday so much saturday my dh is away again and tbh i need this time to reflect hes so so optimistic about sam i know hes scared but he doesnt show it and sometimes i need him to say im scared to its ok....

Ah SK love your school pics, agree with whoever it was that said it first, B and your DD1 really do look similar!

sorry M2L no experience of reflux here but I know some of the others have had, I'm sure someone will be along with excellent advice shortly.

Rumpel that sounds grim, hope he gets better soon. Also agree with you and SK on the small gap - my two are now playing with each other a lot of the time and it's really nice to see.

Thank you to everyone who posted in response to my FB status yesterday, it really helped. Basically I had a one-to-one with someone from management and because I'm part-time I hadn't been to any of the joint meetings before, so I think actually seeing someone in the flesh made it all just a bit overwhelming, I just got so angry about what they are doing to the young people in our area and I couldn't keep it in so ended up crying all over the place, I felt embarrassed, manager was all uncomfortable, all a bit of a nightmare. However I've seen the precis of our meeting and despite all that I think I got my points across quite well.. there's another month of 'consultation' (ha!) to go and then we have to go through 'competitive interviews' and then probably redeployment.

However it did make me think about what's important in life and (as always) it comes down to family. So... we'll see....!

Thanks minniemummy, think it was me who said DD1 and B are twins 4 years apart, it's hard telling them apart in photos when DD1 was the same age.

redeployment and interviews suck I went through it twice and DO goes through it about once a year, sympathies

Better go loads to do B is asleep as well bit late but who cars I'm going out tonight

Disney- Thinking of you.... I bet getting the date has made it feel even more real.

SK- glad Abbie is enjoying school! Has she made any new school friends yet?
of you going to see U2... Have a fantastic time!

Rumpel- Poor Calvin. Can they an allergy test on him? Maybe something he's eating thats upsetting him. ( Ignore me if you have already tried that and ive missed it!)

M2L- No reflux experience here but im sure if you did a search of MN you would find some useful info.

Minnie- Your Job sitation sounds a nightmare! Hope it improves for you.

Well the Driveways guys have just gone after being here since 8am. Made great progress and the driveway is going to be huge! Abigail has loved watching them and their big digger. She now says Digger and Dig Dig Dig.

Hoping for a quiet night with DH tonight. Hes been so busy lately and working on the computer till late so feel like I hardly see him Which isnt helpful when your ttc!

Quickie

SK - have fun.

M2L - Calvin has horrendous reflux - only thing that helped was infant gaviscon powders - you'll need a precription. Also sitting them up when feeding/after feeding, this is when the swing seats come in useful.

It is a nightmare - you could try colief (sp) drops too.

Hope it gets better for you soon.

Must go see to my 2 - GP has given C canasten powder now ( I asked for something that I didn't need to rub on). PIGLEY - they won't do any further tests until he has had it for longer .

M2L - just a quickie, P had a spot of reflux when tiny. We used to sit her as upright as poss in her rocker after feeds & also propped ther moses basket up at the head end by standing it on some wood & HV suggested infant Gaviscon like Rumpel said. She grew out of it by about 3 months as it wasn't too severe.

Don't know if I told you gilrs this or not but my older 3 ds's were in Spain with their Father till last night - been away for 2 weeks...Anywho..... They arrived back at 7pm last night and they were a bit quiet - not like them at all

Turns out ds1 has had his tongue pierced....I am in because even though ds2 has his done ds1 is a totally different kind of lad...but heh ho! BUT....ds3 tried to piece his own ear 5 days ago and it is soooooooooooo infected....it is yellow, seeping, crusty and bright red...his glands are swollen and the side of his head is sore.....what did his father do about it? SFA .....he says "tell your mum to take you to the docs"
After talking things over with ds1 it turns out that my ex and estranged wife(who was with him - that's another story) forgot...yes forgot to get travel insurance or E11 form....her lo's had been ill and had to make do with smth from chemist!!! OMG can you feel the steam ...

Anyway got ds3 to docs this am and he got a telling off from gp for his stupidity and was given strong ab's. He could havw lost his ear or had blood poisoning it was left so long..........

Sorry for rant and me post...needed to get it off my chest

Mini- No wonder your Angry! I would be too!
Hope the Antibiotics kick in quickly for him.

Well Abigail has really amazed me tonight!
Few things she done tonight,
Shes learnt the WonderPets Song.. If you sing "whats going to work" she replies "teamwork".
Soo cute!

Out in the garden she can now climb up onto the chairs on her own, sitting there smiling very proudly at herself.

Bathtime today , she almost managed to climb out the bath! And our bath is quite a deep one, but she managed to get one leg out!

Also in the bath, DH came upstairs and shut the stairgate which makes a clunking noise. Abigail looks up saying " Daddy" Then "wheres Daddy" I was ed an laughed and she copied me laughing "ha ha ha"
Amazing.

Anyway enough from me! Im just absouletly amazed at how fast she is learning and growing up!

Hope everyone else is well and

m2l my friends son had very bad reflux, doctor didnt diagnose it for months and kept telling her to change milks etc around. Eventually they gave her infant gaviscon because she begged them to do something and he was so underweight. It worked a treat! She says she just wished she had been given it sooner and didn't have such an annoying dr! She too sat him up after feeds like others have mentioned. good luck

M2L - another one with reflux experience here - dd1 had it badly, loads of projectile vomiting, weight loss and pain. Gaviscon was the miracle answer - sadly didn't get it till 8 months. Hope you get something a lot sooner!

Also dd1 was/is cow's milk intolerant, so dairy-free helped.

Elevate mattress of wherever she sleeps - as steep as you can get away with! Swaddling might help too.

She grew out of the reflux around 1 year.

Good luck - don't be afraid to make a fuss on her behalf, I was fobbed off by way too many health professionals!

Evening all! Had a lovely day with P, she has been a delight!!! Her walking is getting loads better & this evening she was really showing off to some friends that popped round! She has started saying loads more words this past week, and mimicking (sp?) stuff I say (not always the exact word but often the tone and the way I said it, very funny). She now grabs your hands & says 'row-row' when she wants to row the boat! Very cute! Also says boat, cat, byebye, hello & archie (the cat, actually more like 'chichi'!!) She picked up her toy phone yesterday & said 'hello g-dad' (grandad) and does it over and over and over now! They are so amazing at this age, makes me want another one!!!

DH is cooking dinner so I had best go & feast on that! Last week before the BIG diet kicks in!!! No more cake & bread for me!!
